shankara7:Is it his fault that 500k is useless? Most of our hardworking academically sound lecturers don't even earn up to that. Most Nigerians who wake up 6am and get home by 9pm because of traffic don't earn up to that. So what's making you people angry. |
Why are people angry? Is it because peller is uneducated. A PhD holder lecturing in a Nigerian university doesn't even earn up to 500k. So they should cut him some slack. |
illicit:Sad but true. |
When I was young there was this guy in my area who left for Europe via Libya. Till date no one ever heard from him. His mom kept hoping that he'll show up one day but until her death he never did. As I grew older and understood how dangerous thst route was, I knew that he probably died in the course of the journey and never made it to Europe. |
Brandconsultany:That's because you know that investing 1m in palm oil business wouldn't give you 7m after 12 months. |
Mckandre:Palm oil has a larger market and damand than grapes. You can easily avoid grapes if you don't have funds for it, but you can't avoid palm oil cos most foods both the one you cook in your kitchen and the one you eat outside are prepared with palm oil. So whether you have money or not you'd just have to buy it so you can cook. Meaning producers would always be smiling to the bank. It's not so in the case of grapes. Cos the demand isn't high. |
aribisala0:Biko stop speaking English to me. The interviewer asked him if you put 1m in the business, how much can you make in one year, he said 7m. The interviewer said 7m he said yes. He should have simply told the interviewer the pros and cons of the business. But like most nigerians he wasn't honest. Cos most people might see this video and contact him only to by hit with stories that touch. |
dalass:No matter how expensive grapes are sold, you can never make 700% profit by farming it in one year. Have you considered the logistics of transporting it from the farm to your store, those you'll hire and pay to cultivate and harvest it, miscellaneous...etc. And you should note that he (the farmer) would be selling to traders not direct consumers. So they would want some kind of discount from him in order to make enough profit. In Lagos most super markets that stock it hardly sell it cos it's so expensive. A takeway plastic of grape is 6,500. How many Nigerians can consistently afford it in this economy. Yes you might buy it once or twice but that's it. It might not cross your mind again throughout the whole year. That a fruit is expensive doesn't mean it's profitable. That farmer wasn't being honest. |
That grape farmer isn't being honest. How can you invest 1m in grape farming and get 7m after one year? That's about 700% profit. If this was true, believe me the whole Nigerian populace would go into grape farming. It's lucrative quite alright but you cannot invest 1m and get 7m in just a year. |
Sterope:A lot of parents these days don't watch their kids eating habits. They give them freedom to eat whatever they want and whenever they want it. If you go to most private schools and see how obese the kids there look, you'll shake your head. |
GloriousGbola:Yea I know that things have definitely Increased. I'm not married yet, neither do I have kids living with me so I don't have a rough estimate of how much they should be spending in school. But for me, I feel giving them food from home to take to school is still the best. |
pocohantas:Her first daughter in SS2 uses an iPhone which was bought by her. Besides there are schools in this Lagos that charge over 15m per year. Meaning any parent who can afford that should be able to afford 12k per day. For me I just felt it's too much. They're still pre-teen. They don't need to look obese just to convince people that you aren't suffering. The thing is, most kids use their pocket money to buy junk. During my secondary school days, ice cream, and other junk was what consumed my pocket money. Those things makes you obese. Her first daughter is just 15, yet she's so fat that you can mistake her for a 25 year old. It's not good for her health. |
There's this aunty of mine who told me she gives her 3 kids 4k each every day to take to school. I told her it's too much. Meaning she'll be spending about 12k every day for the whole term. This is minus school fees and other fees private school usually demands from their students. When I suggested to her that giving them food from home to take to school would be more economical for her, she told me they're in secondary school so it's going to look odd. That it's only nursery and primary school students who carry food to school. I told her that more than 65% of working class 9am-5pm Nigerians now carry food from home to work which they microwave and eat because of how expensive food has become. And they're not shy. How much more secondary school students. So I want to throw this question to the mummies and daddies in the house, how much do you give your teenage kids in secondary school as pocket money. I understand that things are so expensive these days. Oridinary meatpie I used to buy N200 around 2022 is now 1k. Donuts of 50-N100 is now 500-800. Plastic soda is 500. So is 4k too much for a teenager to take to school, or would you prefer they just eat to their satisfaction at home before going to school?

Iceking1:Obviously you'd see it on jumia. And when buying look for the ones with 360° camera so that it can pick events happening inside the car as well. It wouldn't just be focused on the road. |
Biko Chi also tell them to be kind and supportive as well. Cos most young girls these days no be am. |
KEYSERSOZE:Sure. Drop your number I'll call you. |
Iceking1:Then get a dashcam. It's less than the 82,800 you spent. Just between 30-35k depend on the make. If you had it - it would have automatically recorded them, then you upload the video on Twitter and tag people like VDM and other human right activist. By now the whole social media would have been trending with their ugly faces. They would be arrested, dismissed and your money returned back to you. Also, whenever you're stopped by the police, act very bold and bossy. Don't let them spot any kind or form of fear in you. If they do, they'll exploit it until they successfully milk you. Sorry for your loss. |
PlasmaTV:Na so na. We'll always look for ways to improvise. Se.un cannot stop us. ![]() |
This is why I laugh whenever I see jobless youths killing themselves for politicians, cos in politics there are no enemies. Just personal interests. El-Rufai is fighting for his personal interests. So even if it means hugging Peter Obi, he'll gladly do it provided it would grant him a spot at the table where our national cake is being shared. Look at Obsanjo and Atiku. Oshomole and Pastor Ize-Iyamu. Reno and Tinubu. It's all about their pocket. |
Yul my brother, let me be frank with you, if you like do this a$$ licking till the end of time, Tinubu won't recognize you for appointment. The only proven way to get Tinubu's attention and appointments as well is if you start attacking Peter Obi relentlessly. He's the one he (Tinubu) fears more than Devil, that's the only ticket to getting anything from him. All these advise you keep giving here and there would not earn you recognition. |
jocelynor:Isn't she working or doing business, why can't she use her money to complete the deficit, doesn't the baby belong to her as well, or is she 100% dependant on you? |
dominique:It's this age falsification that's making it difficult for top European clubs to sign African players. I remember one video of Gurdoila I watched some years back when he was asked why he doesn't sign Africans. He immediately cut in and said he signs European blacks because he's sure of their age. But African blacks lie a lot about their age he said. Making them expire quickly. So buying them is a waste of resources. I shook my head when I saw that interview. Look at Ronaldo. At 40 he's still active and agile. Most African players at 30 are already useless because their real age would be around 40 or more. |
KEYSERSOZE:I got a notification from you. I no longer have access to the email I created this account with. The problem started early this year. And Seun has refused to allow us change email. So you can talk to me here or on a dead thread. |
domesifa:Just buy a camp gas as backup. So if gas finishes in the main cylinder you can easily transfer your pot to the camp gas and continue your cooking pending when you'll refill the main cylinder. |
TheStranger:He should just go to the closest FRSC office in his environment with the particulars. He doesn't need to go with the car. The particulars is enough and they'll get him his license plates. |
TheStranger:Bro, number plate registration is done by FRSC which exists in all the 36 states. And to make it easier, almost all car dealers partner with FRSC as agents. So they can easily capture you, register you online and give you your license plates when you purchase a car from them. So regardless of your location, you certainly wouldn't encounter any problem in getting license plates provided you purchased your car from a dealer. |
