It would take an extremely massive rigging for APC to win the presidential election in 2027. Cos with the kind of hardship they've put Nigerians in, only a brain dead person would willingly vote for them. |
TheStranger:Bro I got my license plates the same day I bought my car. What are they registering that should take them one week? Unless the person doing it for him was just lazy. Cos there's nothing special in registering license plates. Just your regular biodata and Voila the plates are ready. |
GloriousGbola:Exactly cos the car dealer you bought the car from would definitely offer to get you license plates, or direct you to people who would do it for you. Maybe he refused cos he had someone who promised to do it at a more cheaper rate. |

armadeo:If you're spending 120k on bill in a month then you're using a non inverter AC and other heavy appliances. Joe Igbokwe once cried out that he spends about 20k on units everyday in his office. At least he admitted to having about 7 units of non inverter AC and other heavy appliances in that office that swallows the units. This is the thread https://www.nairaland.com/8207600/high-electricity-tariff-kill-businesses I use 50k every month and at least I can say my house has the basic electronic necessities every house should have. So it's not about capacity or whether or not I can afford to spend more. It's about what exactly you're using in your home that's swallowing your units and how you can curb it so as to reduce your spendings. |
armadeo:The way you're sounding, it's very clear that you either don't use a pre paid meter or you don't load it yourself. If you do, you'll know that it's almost impossible to exhaust 200 units in a month for a flat. And in case you're not aware, the consumption rate of units in Band A and band B, C and D are the same. The only difference is the price of the units. I bought 200 units early this month and today is 28th and I still have over 70 units left. Meaning it could carry me till at least first or second week of July. I put off my freezer once I wake up cos I leave it on over night making it freeze it's contents. I don't put on the freezer again until night when I want to go to bed cos most of its contents are still frozen. As for AC I only put it on at the peak of heat. (mostly in the afternoons). I barely watch TV only when there's a live match going on. So what are you arguing about? If you spend up to 400 units (100k) in a month say it here with evidence. If you're the only one using your pre paid meter, you can effectively manage how you consume electricity. Let me even shock you. Most average Nigerians using pre paid meters in Band A don't load up to 200 units at a go on their meter. They load maybe 20, 30, 40 or 50 units and still use it for weeks. You simply have zero knowledge about pre paid meters. |
GloriousGbola:Very true. Last week, I came across a 2013 thread where Mike Adenuga spent about 200m to purchase a burial ground at Ikoyi cemetery. https://www.nairaland.com/1341077/mike-adenuga-paid-n200million-burial If you go through the thread, you'd discover that so many people critized him for doing so. Most called it a total waste of money. Like you rightfully pointed out, they spoke out of a poverty mindset. I'm sure that those whose financial level has improved since that 2013 wouldn't make such statement in 2025. |
GloriousGbola: pocohantas:Lol. That of the washing machine skipped my memory I would have written. There's these aunt who visited me from the east and saw my own and started complaining. She even advised me to sell it before I get married so that my wife wouldn't be lazy. I just told her OK cos I wasn't ready for any kind of unnecessary arguments. I used to have that mindset during my university days but with time it vanished. |
armadeo:No bro they're not. I'm not talking about duplex, shopping or office complex. I'm talking about 1-3 bedroom flat, 2 inverter AC (not your regular AC) freezer and your TV and other electronics. You won't come close to 100k. I'm using myself as an example. Unless you're naturally wasteful. |
PlasmaTV:Bro. 100k would be 400 units on band A. I don't think I've come across any home in Lagos that consumes 400 units every month regardless of their electronic appliances. |
lastmessenger:Believe me when I tell you that I'll happily embrace band A to estimated billing. In estimated billing even if you don't have light for 2weeks nepa would give you outrageous bill. In Band A you can move your change over to neutral if you're going out to preserve your units. You can determine how long you want it to last. The highest you can spend as a band A user if you're living in a flat with 2 inverter ACs, deep freezer, TV and other smaller electronics is 50k per month. That's about 200 units (or more if you're given bonus) What you should know about band A is that the consumption rate is the same as other bands. The only difference is the cost of units. Estimated billing on the other hand is crazy. I've see an estimated bill of 387k on Twitter. For a flat. And one crazy fact about estimated billing is that your bill keeps increasing every month. It never goes down. |
When they're always offering cheaper alternatives whenever you tell them how much you spent on a particular item. Eg. I spent 40k to prepare a 5 liter pot of soup. Them: You for give me the money I go use 10k cook am sef. You too de waste money. Eg2. A painter told me to bring 50k to paint my room. Them: Something I can do for 10k then you can add something for me. People who say things like I can never use 100k to buy phone. People who enter plane like to waste money, night bus is better. Na mumu de go boutique. Okrika is better. Second hand electronics is better than brand new. If you here those words just know that it's poverty that's talking. |
For me I have my OPAY account ready at all times. My traditional bank is for receiving payments, which I'll move a part to my OPAY for consumption. So far they haven't failed me. It's a shame to our commercial banks that with all the billions they claim to make yearly, with all they decades they've been in the system, small banks like OPAY with no visible branch has faster transaction rate and better performance than them. |
press9jatv:Oga rest biko. I'm telling you people that taught me personally. You're telling me they may not come from anambra state. Even the dean of my faculty was from anambra state. |
helinues:Me that schooled in anambra and knew these indigenous profs personally, you want me to believe one useless list compiled by a tribalistic Igbo hater? It's not your fault Sha, your kind would believe anything bad from the east without verification. Even without my post, common sense should tell you that anambra state hosts a federal, a state and a handful of private universities. So saying there are only 7 professors in such a place is just pathetic. Attached are 2 indigenous professors in my department (Computer science) Prof Anigbogu taught me from year 1 to final year. He's from Nibo in anambra state. Prof Onyesolu taught me in 300l and final year. He's also from anambra state.
|
helinues:This is a lie from the pit of hell. I don't know what you people gain in all this unnecessary tribal arguments you bring up everyday just to tarnish the image of igbos. I schooled in Unizik and my department had 2 indigenous professors, we had about 3 in Physics department including prof ekpunobi (whose wife is also a prof in chemistry department pics attached) where we borrowed certain faculty courses from, 2 in mathematics and 2 in chemistry department. This is just a few departments in my faculty. We've not even moved to other faculties, then the deans, VC and DVCs. And we still have ANSU (Ojukwu) university which would definitely have indigenous profs as well. Biko rest with this your propaganda, it's becoming pathetic.

richiemcgold:Iran directly or indirectly sponsors most of the notorious terrorists groups in the world. Who would make friends with such people? |
I'm more worried about the environment and surrounding where the surgery was performed. |
LordBiden:You don't get it do you? This isn't a Trump issue. The US has been envisioning a possible attack on Iran right from the gulf war era. The reason why they couldn't proceed was because they had no concrete reason to. Iran has just handed them a reason to turn them to Iraq and Syria where armed gangs kill each other on a daily basis. If they're bombing the US bases and the US is hitting vital targets in Iran with precision, sooner or later Iran wouldn't have the means to sustain the war anymore. Cos within weeks, a large percentage of their military command structure would be destroyed. And guess what, that's when the ground armies would be brought in to occupy their country whilst they steal their resources. That's how the US makes their money from the middle east. And sadly, Iran played perfectly into their game. |
JimohMomoh:Bro it's that bad. Even if the FG releases money for the athletes, it would be looted by those in charge. |
englishmart:In that case, t's impossible to exhaust 6GB on phone alone. Unless you're connected to your laptop. What would you be doing on the phone to consume 6GB let alone 10? |
Obviously turkey would take good care of her than Nigeria. If you know what upcoming athletes are passing through in this country, you won't even waste your time representing it. Check out any Olympics, most nigerians keep winning medals for their adopted country yet Nigeria itself goes home empty handed. It's not Oridinary. Nepotism, tribalism and corruption has eaten deep into the system. And competing under such circumstances can give you PTSD. |
