Here are some things you don't know :
In almost every northern town, there are local leagues going on.
Northern clubs in the Nigerian premier league have the highest fan base. Their stadiums are usually filled during matches unlike the empty stadiums we see in our own half of the country.
Northern clubs are not dominated by southerners sir. Just like there are southerners playing in the north, there are also Hausa boys playing in the south.
When it comes to support of foreign leagues, northerners are more fanatical. They buy jerseys more than anyone else.
And you should know that several former super eagles players of southern extraction were made in the north.
So I don't get the basis of you saying that the north is not a footballing region.


Their issue is that lack of drive to go extra miles. When an average northerner gets comfortable, he doesn't strive to go further. That's why you hardly see them involved in the hassle to go abroad for greener pastures.
