edelweiss: my dear maturity mostly don't come with age, age just enlightens u more because u as the individual want to learn.
Sorry to ask u this... Can u marry a man that u re older than(your junior)?.
edelweiss: And 2ndly u being 30 something doesn't take your beauty away, if u use your body well in your teens and early adulthood, it will serve u well when u are a full grown adult, am in my 30's and when I look at some 22-26 years old I weep!preserve your body and your body will be preserved.
True... I know some girls that are 30+ but they look like your average 26... I met one of such when I was a 2go addict in the religion room, she graduated from unical, read accounting and she works, she got married last year...
edelweiss: And believe me some men look beyond youthfulness, they crave for a women who is exposed and experienced but it all boils down to the man's age too.
"EXPOSE" now to me that word means many thing... But let me just mention one... I WILL "NEVER" EVER MARRY A girl just because she is a virgin... She has to have experience (sexually.. So to hell with those no sex till after marriage girls... I pray they NEVER come my way) (Yes I have sisters 3 are married the last is in school, that's for anybody that'll want to say they will do that to ur sis), be exposed, not too religious (those girls that always tell their hubby "you must go to church today"wink, not contended with what they have (my friend is using a bb porsch, honey I need 1 too), etc...

bukatyne: 1. the lady has a choice to marry who she wants to. Must the wedding be big? Must they live at Lekki? Must they have a ride? Some Churches make a provision of office wedding for poor couples. Just the pastors, parents and couple. Some very rich people started very poorly.
God bless you my sister.... Your kind is very rare in this country called Nigeria... Girls must u have a BIG wedding?, must u invite all ur childhood friends?, must the reception be held in a hotel?, must u have a bridal train of 16 girls?, etc.. Most guys borrow money from friends and family members just to organise wedding that will meet what their better halves demanded from them, then after the wedding they will start having financial difficulties...

bukatyne: 2. Love NEVER comes after marriage expect the grace of God: most women accept their fate and live in sorrow. One can't love two people at a time. Love can'y also be switched on and off. If she marries the 'ready' man and tomorrow he loses his job and doesn't quickly get another, what happens? I would say she never loved the boyfriend in the firdt place. I have a couple that had barely nothing when they married. Four yeras later, their story is amazing.
Most Nigerian girls won't know that, all they care about is money... They will be quick to quote the Bible when it suites them but they always forget this quote also found in that same Bible "The LOVE of money is the root of ALL evil"... Bukatyne... May GOD BLESS YOU MORE ABUNDANTLY IN JESUS NAME..... AMEN.

carmelion: Then I discovered that answering your question would lead to repetition(I am not a fan of that).
The answer to your question is lying somewhere in one of the post on Pages 0-25 of this thread.

You may want to read through/in between the lines.Thank me later
Can't u just quote it?.... Na wa o.. Stop behaving like this.

Do any of you girls still listen to the late Pastor Bimbo's (Singles & Married) tape?.... I think it will be very helpful to some..

carmelion: I want to tell you that some of these ladies have to force themselves to love those guys they end up getting married to,just to evade pressure.

Forget (some of)those wedding pictures you see,its all for the cameras dear.if only you can see their mind. They wish it was their longtime boyfriends ,but they can't help it.

Luckily they will start loving their husbands after marriage,I mean they have no choice I just hope you uunderstand, and save yourself the stress.
So in a way u are saying "MOST" girls get married to a guy not because of love but because they know that they are gettin old?, don't you think those kind of girls are the types that still indulge in extra marital affairs with those their ex's that they wished they would've been married to?....

Rooneyboy: The truth is most Naija ladies are naturally stingy, they have a very myopic way of reasoning when it comes to relationship.

Any guy that dates a Naija lady and expects a gift worth more than 3K must be an E-diot .

To them its always one sided and they must be the ones receiving.
I kinda agree with this dude... I have a friend( A bros). He works at Onne port in Port Harcourt... He always complain about this same issue to my mum... She always expect from him but never gives him anything... Xmas day he bought stuffs for she and her her family member, New Year's day the same thing happened... I know this val. it's going to be the same... Some times when I hear stories from his friends (they are all working) I fear to think of how our turn will be... Do girls of nowadays marry for love or the money?.

carmelion: As single ladies,I want you to know that most single guys do not even remember that they re single untill weekends. You know why?

It's because they re busy chasing money(they need it to make things happen, you knowwink),attending series of meetings both locally and internationally, inter state, and intra-state.E.t.C

In the mist of all these,it might interest you to know that some of them dont have time for toasting babes during the week.
You are a master planner (strategist)... What u wrote is so on point...

carmelion: You know they have a flight/bus/appointments/presentations/seminars/trainings/lectures e.t.c to catch up with.
Some men actually meet their wives while embarking on such trips...

carmelion: But once, its friday, its all about weddings/parties/ceremonies/relaxation.So nobody is in a hurry, therefore everyone is in a relaxed mood.
You forgot that saturdays and sundays there are FOOTBALL matches been played...

madridsta007: Hahaha! Good husband materials are not scarce, in my opinion.
That's ur own opinion, bt sm gals do say they are few good men around. I read a post here on Nairaland how a gal rejected suitors that proposed to her. Most give diff. excuses like "I'm taller than He is., "He doesn't own a car., He is poor,. He is not from my tribe. When u say but He truely loves you. There best retort is "NA LOVE I GO CHOP?".......
madridsta007: Be the right wife material, you will find those good gentlemen running after you.
Go and check the thread "Girls what do u want for Valentine"... Many girls are requesting for what only sugar daddy's could afford... I just stopped at the 1st page though... Sometimes I laugh at the way our girls reason things..

Romance › Re: A Thread for Single Ladies :) by nbright: 4:35pm On Feb 07, 2013
Nigerian ladies... I saw this on bbc.. No b only 4 Naija men scarce
"I'm pretty old - I'm almost 30 - but I'm still
single," explains Ding Na, a woman hailing
from China's northeast.
"I'm under lots of pressure. My sisters and
my relatives all ask me why I'm not married.
When they call me, I'm scared to pick up the
phone."
Twenty-somethings in China - young
women especially - face a strict societal
deadline to find a husband before they turn
30.
According to Zhou Xiaopeng, a consultant
with Baihe.com, one of China's biggest
dating agencies, the pressure for singles to
settle down crescendos around Chinese
New Year.
"Picture a scene where people sit around a
table," Ms Zhou says.
"Chinese people love to get together for
dinner. On New Year's Eve, everybody is
sitting in pairs, your brother with your
sister-in-law, your sister with your brother-
in-law, and so on. If you're the only one left
behind, you can imagine the pressure and
frustration."
Kiss for $8
Luckily for some, China's most popular
online marketplace, Taobao, offers a band-
aid solution: the rental of fake boyfriends.
For as little as $50 (£32) a day, dozens of
classified adverts promise to provide a male
companion for the holidays, pretending to
be a single woman's plus-one.
Some postings list a full menu of possibilities
- charging $5 an hour to accompany a girl to
dinner and $8 for a kiss on the cheek. If the
fake boyfriend stays overnight with his
client's family for Chinese New Year, he
charges $80 a night to sleep in his own bed,
and $95 to sleep on the couch.
Sex is not even an option on the list.

To the girls that are saying guys dump them after they might have helped the guy acheived something in life... I tend to disagree.... Mary helped Peter both financially and materially when they were in UNN cos she came from a wealthy family... After they both graduated, Peter Odili married Mary.... So not all guys dum their girls after they have been helped.

saxking: why can't single ladies in naija just ask guys out? not overtly but coyly...its not just because they do it in Yankee but cos...come on... what's wrong about it?
I too am also curious as to why they shy away from it.... What's wrong in befriending him, then one day just hint that u want to eat out if he would care to join u... Gals are quick to say this is d 21st century but they are afraid to approach a guy

Girls.... Do u discuss with ur brothers about girls and relationship?... In my house we do.. I remembered the day my mum made mention of her wish to see her two boys marrying a good girl as wife, my sister said some girls can do anything just to please a mother-in-law (some can turn the soup in a pot into a bowl just to wash the pot, then return the soup to the already washed pot) but when the man marry them, their attitude will likely change...

carmelion, I went through ur previous post in another thread and I found this...
carmelion: I ve so many turn offs but
since the thread says the biggests, mine
are as follows
1.Bad Dentition!(As in when you say Hi,I
wony even say hello)
2.Talkative(especially the type that
makes all his friends listen to me when
they hang out)
3.Poor dress sense(anyways I don't
need to hammer too much on this cos
you need to access the person you re
even coming to meet)
Lastly,Fair guys(I wish I can help here
but sadly,am the fairest of all so you
see..we can't blend.its not when am
looking for something to fight my
pimples with, you will be looking for
yours too,mtcheeeeew!.Dark guys melt
me.I mean the very dark ones.
So if a fair guy approach u u will just snob him?.... (according to ur number 1 point u are a big SNOB) and here u are saying a different thing... Also in ur point No. 3 u sound pompous and proud.... Na wa o... Some girls will never change..
