Artboy:
just in case u didn't see this before ,I said : is the lollypop licking guy Timbaland?
If it isn't, its an uncanny resemblance!
Boyfriend, i bet u that the lollypop licking guy is not Timberland, while the resemblance maybe "uncanny" as you put it, Nigeria Breweries Plc would not pay as much as whatever it takes to have him on a 1min advertisement, the lollipop licking guy is just part of the "effizzy" in the advertisement. At least i know what Timberland looks like, unless somebody is trying to tell me that he has done a face lift. smiley wink

Do you remember the adverts you enjoyed as children,they were so much better than what we see and hear these days.
How far back can you remember?
Does anyone remember;
Hey Girl!! I do not quit agree with that statement, I think it is the feeling of nostalgia you get when u remember those lines or watch some ads from the past. Back in the days, suchs ads were the BOMB but this is the 21st century and we have good ads that you cannot compare with some ads from the past.

Here is the link of some ads a friend of mine sent to me on Facebook for your viewing pleasure.  smiley

trendy:
i don't understand the advert yet huh but it's really cool and classy
why did dakore help that other lady
is that woman supposed to be a star
and why is that fat man licking lolly pop
You know initially, I did not quite understand the advert but after watching it repeatedly and closely observing, I now understand it.
Here it goes.

The 1st Lady shown on the scene happens to be a celebrity while in the advert Dakore was not a Celebrity.

As the 1st Lady was about to get into the car, she broke the heel of her shoe and Dakore quickly hurried to assist her after which she forgot to hand the celebrity her Amstel Malta branded bag. The Bag was what the Paparazzi’s  were supposed to identify her with, so as the car drove off Dakore remembered that she was still holding on to the Amstel Malta Bag, she quickly held it up for the 1st Lady if she would be lucky to see her raise the bag.

The Paparazzi’s sighted the bag and concluded that Dakore was the celebrity they were waiting for and immediately took different snap shots of her and she was like Oooooh!!! While raising her feet up and before she knew it, that single act earned her the Status of a Model, Hollywood Star & Celebrity. smiley smiley

“You ready to tango" I love that line, Good Advert I must say, Amstel Malta has always had a knack for motivating adverts and Dakore, a very good choice, one of Nollywood’s best. I love her. wink wink wink wink kiss kiss kiss kiss

wetin u guys dey complain about,atleast d pay is good and una dey freshen up,staying inside a/c all day long.hahahahahaha
That is what people on the outside see but the work inside no easy oooooo! wink

degubi:
there is nothing exciting in banking,the pay may be good but the monotony of the job can make u go crazy,i work with a bank and i am praying that God will help me get a better job that is exciting in the sense of creativity and less stressful time wise.
Yeah! you are right! monotony of the job could be boring and can make one go gaga!!!! grin

titilaelae:
My piece on bank job. I was there for 5 years, the pay was good, the stress worth the pay or vice versa but …the 'long hours' was 'much ado about little' really.

The truth of the matter is, its not all those looooong hours that are spent working. Like I said in my introduction, I'd been in the system and anyone who wants to claim he works really hard from 8am to 8pm should come boldly and say it on this thread. I worked in different branches and departments of my former bank before I left and I saw things. Not only that, I had (still do have) friends in banks and we compare notes. Hectic as the job was made to look, we still had time to play computer games. I think bank management should stop deceiving themselves by equating long hours with hard work.

I had a couple of friends who, after they would have been chased out of the office to go for marketing, would make some calls here and there and then go and spend some hours at home before returning to the office (some of course do their private runs), why?, they must not be seen in the office but when they come back laaaaate, they will be seen as 'working hard'.

The above now makes the ogas themselves, the policy makers to, portray a 'busy' outlook. Some DGMs/AGMs spend their evenings browsing and
I worked with UBA Plc  for 5yrs, you may be right that they do not really work from 8am - 8pm but i tell you that Banking is not easy, capturing vouchers and taking them for approval alone could be time wasting and do not forget that because of the risk involved, there has to be thoroughness.

Department varies, while some may not need to close late others because of the nature of their job would be forced to close late e.g the Tellers, they have to pay/receive cash from 8am - 4pm and balancing of the cash book commences. Sometimes when they have system breakdown, that could also make them work late in other to capture their vouchers and balance their book though it would not be an everyday affair.

For the marketers that spend time at home & pretend to go look for customers well, it only time that would tell. The end of month/year appraisal would expose them if they do not meet their target unless they have an already existing customer base that equates their target.

Banking is hectic, hectic here also depends on the Bank/Department you work with and the customer base of the bank, you cannot compare a big bank with one that is still trying to stand on its 2 feets. The ATM is a major relief too.

This is no news now, Richard and Tatiana were fighting on a daily basis even in the house wink
The relationship was 50 - 50 all along grin
ehennnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! Dalby, Dalby!
"Just thinking aloud, does the absence of a fight in a relationship show that there is Love?"

I am sure you remember this line, or maybe go back to Page 58 to see your responses and that of others when i brought up the Richiana relationship.

What more do people expect from a pair that could not tolerate each other.
- Richard is younger than Tatiana and very immature in nature. (i have seen very matured 20yr old)
- No respect for womanhood and very vulgar.etc

"Every fight that you overcome in a relationship makes the relationship stronger & creates room for better understanding."

I hope you also remember this line, maybe in future you do not assess a relationship with the other, especially an abnormal one like Richiana's. Isolation can make us do a lot of crazy things. True Love was what Richiana never had. It was very obvious, even if they manage to come together as their companions have abandoned them, the relationship would never work. I am not an analyst but the signs are there.

I had wanted this thread to die as we had addressed every issue & closed it up with a REUNION but i could not help but notice your latest post.

The once lively thread, huh

@Salvage
I really loath it when people initiate "Name Calling" you know the "All Knowing Lawyerchap" I think that was what started it and then Kaydee tries to advice not to reveal your "Ignorance" While ignorance may mean the other, but i think he was referring to your ignorance of the "Law" and you went ahead to say that he takes weed (Igbo).
Now i do not know how you know he takes that stuff but that was going to the extreme, that alone can initiate a battle.

That A's Opinion rhymes with B does not make "A" a Cheerleader, and in forums like this you earn your respect from "Resonable" post. Members are not going to respect you when you jump at every person or feel inferior because of another person's post. sad

@Dalby.
I really am Speechless, What were you trying to portray by quoting post of Larrybabe. Helloooooooooooooooooooo i thought you were wearing the trousers here since Larrybabe is Female. embarassed embarassed

Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee can we call it quit now. This "Battle" is really uncalled for. Got it? huh

Tampico did not get the previous mails you sent, maybe you send her another mail today using her 2nd email addy or for other options u can scroll back so you do not miss out on the Reunion. wink

Goodmorning All.
Watching that video clips really brought back sad/sour memories.  sad sad

Now this is a cheerleader that knows his job.

At least try and have an identity or opinion of your own. I just read a little of your posts in this particular thread and am wondering if you are high on weed(Igbo).

Sometimes you jump in to curse out someone and then realise it was the wrong person.

Carefull with that stuff(weed). It kills
Wow! Salvage has it really gotten to this! embarassed
Frankly speaking Lawyerchap has said it all "THE LAW IS AN ASS".

Maybe if you were a Lawyer or had the opportunity to be at a sitting/hearing you would understand the term differently, but since Law is not your field lets just leave it at that (Believe in the Video Clips) afterall everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that includes you.

As for Mnet's lawyers, Salvage. Salvage. Salvage.

Tell me honestly if this seems like a likely scenario:

Mnet Executive: So, you've viewed the footage. What do you think our liability, if any, is?
Mnet Lawyer: My goodness. What on earth were you thinking letting things get that far? That dreadlocked guy was r a p i n g two drunk women and you stood there beaming it live to all of Africa? How stupid can you get? Look, you're so liable that your grandkids are going to need lawyers to get out of this mess.
grin grin grin grin grin LMAO!  grin grin grin

Actually, No good lawyer would dare utter that to his client, its all about the pay & also the stuff they are made of.
Really, Lawyers are supposed to be daring, take up the challenge even when it is seemingly impossible.

I do not think Ofunneka wants to sue though, according to Saturday Punch Headline she states there that "I HAVE NO REGRETS"  So Homegirl won't be needing 'em Matlock or Ally Mcbeal.  smiley

Sweetheart, I beg to disagree.

National Broadcasting Commission is established by Decree No 38 of 1992. This decree has been amended by National Broadcasting Commission (Amendment) Decree No 55 of 1999.

Its functions include but not limited to the following:
1. regulating and controlling the broadcast industry;
2. receiving, considering and investigating complaints from individuals and bodies corporate or incorporate regarding the contents of a broadcast and the conduct of a broadcasting station;
3. establishing and disseminating a national broadcasting code and setting standards with regard to the contents and quality of materials for broadcast;
4. promoting Nigerian indigenous cultures, moral and community life through broadcasting;
5. initiating and harmonizing Government policies on trans-border direct transmission and reception in Nigeria;
6. regulating ethical standards and technical excellence in public, private and commercial broadcast stations in Nigeria;
7. determining and applying sanctions including revocation of licences of defaulting stations which do not operate in accordance with the broadcast code and in the public interest;
8. approving the transmitter power, the location of stations, areas of coverage as well as regulate types of broadcast equipment to be used.

I have brought out only those functions that are related to the issue at hand.

In conclusion, NBC indeed have power to monitor what is aired even on PVP stations in Nigeria, DStv inclusive .
Thanks for that piece of information. But i think if they want them to stop BBA airing because of Nudity/Pornography, they should as well ask them to close shop. I watch films on Mnet and the obscene pictures are not censored. These same set of people have DSTV in their homes and actually watch these obscene films so why do they eventually want to shoot the mosquitoe with a gun while the Elephant with an insecticide? Beats me!! lipsrsealed
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by Ndi(f): 5:26pm On Nov 15, 2007
My worst fears are about to be confirmed with just a few days after the BBA2.

In one of my post I stated that:
“I pray seriously that what happened on 27th of October 2007 does not ruin Ofunneka’s chances of winning” It partly did.
“That it does not affect Ofunneka in anyway when she leaves the house.
It seems to be rearing its ugly head as T.V stations are commenting/debating on the issue while the Print Medias are all writing different stuffs about what transpired on that day. It’s really getting uglier by the day.  Richard tagged a Rapist while Ofunneka the Victim!

From the excerpt of her post eviction interview:
BB: What are your feelings on what happened on Saturday the 27th of October?
Ofunneka: It's an unfortunate event. We all overdid it a bit and passed out. I'm still waiting to see the footage.
Now I wonder how Homegirl would feel if she sees the footage. sad

Before we go blaming her for drinking lets not forget that it had to do with TASK and we all know how serious Homegirl takes her TASK, very serious!!!!

To Ban BBA Airing, Is it really necessary? It did not air on Local Stations that NBC controls, it only aired on DSTV and I do not think NBC has any right to regulate programs aired on DSTV, that would be going contrary to contract agreement, unless they want to totally chase them out of Nigeria which would be going to extreme as we have far more obscene films airing on DSTV and others alike than the BBA show.

The worst I feel they could do is to stop participating in BBA shows and that goes to say also that there would be no BBN2. Well for some of us that love the show because of the Tasks, Nominations & Evictions it would be missed if this happens.
BBN did not go that extra mile but it was still fun watching the Housemates, Maybe subsequent episodes of BBA should take a cue from that.

@All
I am looking forward to seeing most (if not all) posters on this thread, come the "grin" day which would be communicated to everyone that has filled the form via their e-mail addy or Phone numbers.

If you are still interested in the Thread reunion, you can get in touch with Tampico so she could give you further directives.
The form was designed with Notepad and Notepad corrupts easily when sending, so i advice that you email the details to Tampico rather than sending it with Notepad so there are no excuses. And if you are looking for the form, it could be on page 62 of this thread but i am not really sure but check previous pages to get the form.

"Variety they say is the spice of life" Now I wonder why somebody would say he/she watched BBA2 because of Richard, If Biggy had showed you only Richard scene, how interesting would the reality show had been?  huh just curious here.

Ofunneka added to the entertainment because she didn't just clean & cook, she did task too and also involved in the nominations, but some people only want to see Porn little wonder they say "SEX SELLS".

In the eviction interview, when she was asked the strategy she came into the house with she replied "You know what, let me think, No Strategy! just went to the house to Cook, Clean, Dance & have fun" which she did to the fullest. I was really relieved to see her so excited. She could not even hold herself, she had to dive on Lerato! yes Lerato and the Soweto Girl was so surprised before she then hugged Maureen & others. it was quite a scene. (They even played "African Queen" for her) smiley

It was really good to see all the other housemates, Leppy Justice, Jeff & the others all dressed in cute black suit and dresses, it brought back a feeling of nostalgia. They all made the show worth watching, if not we would not have had anything to post here.
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa 2 (II)! by Ndi(f): 11:42am On Nov 12, 2007
Good Morning All.

I think I am feeling a bit better than yester night sad
Yeah!! Richard parted with the dough!! It still hurt but we just have to accept it, Ofunneka may not have parted with Biggy’s dough but I forsee her making it big here in Nigeria (i.e endorsements deals here and there) at least for all her effort.

In my area (Festac Town) we had all thought Hgirl was going to win, so we organized ourselves, brought out a Big screen T.V with theatrical sound system, on the other side was a projector facing the big white wall, I was really surprised to find out that amidst all the condemnation, a lot of people still follow the reality show like mad, most of them left their houses to come and watch it right there in my close (outside), a neighbour of mine sponsored the distribution of guzzle, so you guzzle while you watch, it was all fun until the rather unfortunate announcement was made by K.B, the guzzle immediately tasted bad in my mouth, I nearly stood up from where I was seated  but at the same time felt as if I was glued to my chair because I couldn’t just believe Home Girl lost!!!! with a thin margin.

Much have not been heard of past winners of Big Brother, but we hear & see those that did not win the dough e.g Gaetano Juko Kagwa (Presenter Studio 53), Kabelo (K.B) Ngakane (Presenter Channel O.) (BBSA), Ebuka Obi-Uchendu (Presenter Friend or Foe) (BBN)

Let just sit back and watch how Richie Rich is going to handle his newly found fame, whether it is going to Make or Mar him. The website is still going to be on for the next 1week to give us details of how the BB Housemates are fairing.

Ofunneka and Tatiana are definitely going to be rewarded handsomely by their respective countries.

Indeed, may I state here that the next BBA would be filled with Porn (Hard and soft) Lesbianism and Homosexual all in the name of entertainment to finally clinch the prize money.

@Dalby
The last time we exchanged post i found out that it was really useless trying to hit a point with you. But your post today goes without pointing it's own flop or may i say incoherency.

Il est vraiment malheureux que vous avez dû dégénérer à ce niveau, mais plis multiples de que vous m'avez souhaité vous viendra parce que tout ce que j'ai fait était à l'air mon opinin sur un thème particulier.

It's really a pity that you degenerated to that level, but bend multiple of what you wish to me comes back to you because all i did was in the air of my opinion in this particular matter.

You would have just typed it this way:

Il est vraiment malheureux que vous ayez dégénéré ā ce point, mais je pries pour que vous receviez au multiple ce que vous m'aviez souhaité car, je ne l’ai fait que pour un but précis.

It’s a pity you degenerated to that level, but I pray and receive in a hundred fold what you wish to me, because I did it for a particular reason.

That goes without saying that you must really be like Richard. tongue

@Spice girl
welcome to the most Funfilled, tensionless, humourous & relaxing thread on Nairaland.
You are definitely invited to the Reunion. wink

Every suggestion here is a welcomed one. But really i don't think we want an elaborate reunion just a meeting point to get to know ourselves better and ease off the tension of watching BBA2 or discussing on this forum.

The cash of #3,500 might suggest an elaborate outing but no! its is just a suggestion from Tampico and if everyone that wants to attend is okay with it then so shall it be. I just want to have fun with friends from this thread on that day.

It is also good that we know on time how many of us are interested so as to know if going for "JADE" would be worth it or just going to Sweet Sensation, i also would not want the cash to scare those of us that are not working but interested in the Reunion.

@Uchetobi
Don't tell me you are chickening out already!  huh

@Salsera
Whatever Girlfriend! just make sure i see your cute butt on that day!  grin

@Kikice
Thats the spirit Girlfriend! Keep it up.

@Adechuks!
If only you would surprise us on that day by attending, the reunion would be an explosive one. With your better half in attendance.  grin grin

@Tommyex
