RomanceRe: He Wants My Old/student Life Mobile Line Removed- How Proper? by ndividual: 8:19am On May 05, 2012
I suppose it would obvious he's not comfortable with it (he's your husband now after all), which I suspect you see as petty, but ideally If I were the guy it shouldn't have even been an issue in the first. You should know. That's my first gripe with this: the fact he had to tell you. The second gripe is you thinking if this is sensible in the first place. HE IS YOUR HUSBAND!!! Even single girls change their line when they're with a "better candidate", and even go so far as to answer "calls" from other guys in her boyfriend's presence! Compare that with you thinking whether or not to hold on to your phone and you get the idea

Some people are attached to their numbers and having to inform everyone might be a hassle/inconvenience, but your husband has taken the effort to tell you and the ball's in your court as to whether comply or fling his request aside. Right now its not abt u anymore. If one party of a marriage has concerns, the marriage has concerns. These are the little things I lookout for before saying I DO.

Disclaimer: as much as I don't buy this disclaimer, everyone is different and even the context can be misinterpreted. Talk with him and see what his concern is (and so on and so forth)

Family Dental Care @ 92 Awolowo Road. I left Smiley Central at Akerele after their supposed best dentist was such a diva (Snark and Sarcasm on duty, wth is that?) and overall better service (when you're explained to why your fillings aren't properly done by your former dentist, you get to appreciate the truth that you can't deceive everybody forever)

@publisher. that actually makes sense. Even though I felt the title misleading, I guess Casting is Casting, waka pass actor or playin dead.
Speaking of playing dead (assuming), how are you gonna point yourself in the whole mess? "hey, that's me, playing lifeless beside the blast?". shocked

Christianity EtcRe: Christian Romance Novel. Is It For Real? by ndividual: 9:27am On Sep 13, 2011
pendo89:
Op what is the difference between christian romance and secular romance. Are you implying that falling in love is secular?
Relax please and stop dragging the devil everywhere.

Do people speak in tongues, prophesy and see visions while romancing?
Do they carry bible when going out on dates? Do they only quote scripture and keep asking each other what the word of the Lord for the hour is? Does dating mean going for night vigils or church fellowships?
If it encompasses all the above then I can tell you this. You are no good for earth and you need to book a first class ticket to heaven very fast.

Lemmie just correct you here.A christian is a normal person with normal feelings. Don't spiritualise those feelings. It is WRONG.
Look here, you can be a hell of a romantic without engaging in some stuff.Once you understand the role of body ,spirit and mind you will learn to relax and live a normal life.
Do not be too spiritual for any earthly use because u become irrelevant.
make sense die!

@OP: I expected you would have gone to the gist of the matter explaining with points.
RomanceRe: The Danger Of 'Love At First Sight' by ndividual: 1:09pm On Sep 09, 2011
Someone once said you don't decide who you'll be attracted to. Its not a choice. it just happens. There's a lot one can tell (and misread) about a man's/woman's appearance: carriage, personality, disposition, etc. Add to the fact everyone has a mental picture of what the ideal partner is. Anyone who fits that mental picture to an unprecedented degree can most possibly "set the fireworks" flying. It works for some people and doesn't work for others, but to base heaven and earth on such an impression is spelling disaster.

on the other hand, such an impression could just be pure lust, and some people have no qualms with it.
GamingRe: Ps2 Vs Xbox360: Which Is The Best? by ndividual: 5:23pm On Mar 09, 2011
^^ given how low the 360 has gone down in the eyes of the nigerian market, its perfectly possible. Sad. I thought the thread was one of those PS3 vs 360 till I saw the "2". its that bad.

@poster. if you're for real, the ps2 will last longer if the 360 is an old model. if the 360 was manufactured after 2009 and has a 12.1 V power pack, you can then go for it.
GamingRe: Xbox 360 Questions by ndividual: 10:32pm On Jul 17, 2009
@qymekkam

1 - Xbox live is accessible from anywhere with a good connection, but specific events/promos/shows/competitions might be limited to the officially listed countries.

2 - You can use either ehternet/wireless to connect, but for wireless you'll need an xbox wireless adaptor (sold seperately). the more important factor is the ISP you're using. Until my console's demise I used Swift Newtorks and they've worked favourably for me (80% of the time, esp when playing Gears of War)

3 - In lagos, you can check computer village, but chances of recent games are slim. For more recent games, You can also check MegaPlaza on the island (good deals there too). If you have a PAL xbox, you can check nu metro at silverbird galleria for the very latest. but be warned - your wallet will have to stitch what's left of it.

4 - Dunno. Searching though, as my console RROD on me. Will let you know sha

PS: TO ALL THOSE WHOSE XBOX IS STILL WORKING: My recommendation? TAKE IT ALL APART AND SET IT UP IN A FULL ATX CASING WITH 5 FANS! That's what i'm gonna go.

So what happens to those with PSP 1000, 2000, now that the UMD is officially in the grave (not that it matters to hacked PSPs, but UMD users)? Will we now be using memory cards for the games? Dunno about you, but I think I'll wait this one out.

At any rate, before you blink you'll hear (wait for it): PSP Go 1.01.. Man. . . . . . . . . Sony, what r u up to?

GamingRe: Xbox 360 Help by ndividual: 4:59pm On Apr 14, 2009
If you hear a "clamping" sound when you press the eject button, chances are its stuck. it'll then reset inside (staying inside). once this happens, press the eject button and wait for the "clamping" sound. immediately you hear it, push the tray (the cover of that pops out the DVD) inside a bit. It shd come out properly.

Or while you're at it, go for a PS3 cheesy
GamingRe: Online multiplayer gaming in Nigeria. by ndividual: 6:16pm On Apr 05, 2009
@darkmanzero - I beg to differ. Yes, the latency IS an issue. But I can't honestly complain abt the performance of my ISP. I had a session of 5 rounds of Gears of War without lag issues - straight. I download demos in a day (well, nothing's perfect). so yeah, it is worth it, though i'm not sure how many people are willing to part with 60k for that kind of connection for gaming and browsing. wink

I am not doubting or anything. I just need to clarify a few things.
Do you experience lag when you're playing online?
Are you able to voice chat with other players seamlessly?
Does the connection drop or is it constantly on?
Are you able to play a fulll game of fifa or COD without issues?
If your answers are yes, i'd like to recommend your internet service provider to someone.
1) Yes - but it depends at what time of the day, although it's rare - I'm using an 6pm-8pm slot, and as these things are faster in the night, I rarely have time lag
2) I don't have a headset, but this question depends on the game (how it's able to handle the voice data and so on), some perform much better than others. For instance, I played a full tournament on Virtual Tennis with no time lag whatsoever. But in Gears of War, there is a slightly higher chance of time lag (where you have your player moving 6 steps and then somewhat "teleport" 5 steps back due to time lag). IMHO, The voice over isn't that great (it can break a lot sometimes) - but as long as my gameplay is ok, then no problem.
3) *sighs* yes, the connection quality can drop at times - most esp when the ISP has problems. If it's that bad, the game will inform you of this, where you can either log out or wait like a sitting duck for your connection to improve - and sitting ducks never last long in deathmatches.
4) I don't have FIFA or COD (rare NTSC games). But based on my experience so far, i figure the Fifa will play better than COD. The reason I'm using my current ISP is because it's auto IP (so no long thing in setting up), plus, I don't have to connect via my system to go online (which i would have done if using something like MTN or Starcomms) and the related connection issues you might encounter.
5) And lastly, there will always be time lag (in Nigeria, till something better comes along). What matters is how "minimal" it is, so to speak.

And in conclusion, as Nigeria changed completely when GSM came, so will the gaming industry, the minute better internet comes in. Can anyone imagine the possibilites with the Globalcom fiber optic cable with gaming?

After the installation of the cables, the people. . . . . . . . will have a much faster transmission of data, voice, broadband internet and multimedia services over a range of frequencies.

Ok - yesterday my gold membership expired (you one free month gold when you sign up). I didn't worry because I had a 1 month free susbcription redeem coupon courtesy of GTA4. However, I was heart broken when i couldn't use (US only). So, how do you do subscriptions on the PS3 online platform?

@jensinmi

That is sooo surreal. I lived very close then (If it's the one at Ori Akpata, I think). Crazy I say.

Any way, for the benefit of the thread I would recommend swift (as of now), since it works well with the 360 and no-download caps.

A-town:
You need a great upload speed to enjoy online games. Without this, there'd be a lot of lag especially when you play people in other continents.
I see where you're coming from. However, it's not like you walk up to an ISP and say "I need a connection of Bleep upload speed and Bleep download speed" - you get ?
