@jensinmi : would you by any chance be the guy behind the game centre somewhere between Fajuyi Bus stop and the Friendlies Hotel ? I served there last year and stumbled on one. A small world indeed. (Damn it, used to know the entire place by hand) @Iukpe: Hows the PS3 online experience like? (details ala my previous post). i opted for the 360 because I figured it's online service (being the first and oldest) would live to expectations (and it has). But I'm burying the thing the minute god of war hits the shelves .So, how is it? |
If some guys out there are having fun with online battles, lets know the games and platforms. I hope to join soon.Boy - better start - It's an addictive lifestyle! So, long and short: I stay in lagos with an xbox 360 hooked up to Swift Broadband. And like 80% of the time, performance is optimal (the way it's meant to be played ). I play Gears of War with the pros - and the entire experience is beyond anything you've seen. you hear live audio streaming of what the other players are saying from their headsets when one team totally wipes out the other between matches. you can chat on the fly, add friends, see which games they are playing (for instance, you're playing Gears of War and found out one of your friends is playing Virtual Tennis 3 - you simply join him for a match and the system takes care of everything else. just swap your disc when prompted, wait a bit - and you're on! how cool is that?)The best part is you're more likely to bump into the same players at specific times. So after I hone my skills - i go online and hand/get some kickass Let's not forget downloadable content (DLC): Demos of the latest games range from 800MB to 1.5GB - which i can download in a day by setting the 360 to download in shutdown mode (like standby but still active). In the new prince of persia franchise, you can download extra playable content after the ending!!! Awesome!!!! Will post more later. @ Squad1: Whatever you do, if you go for a 360, do yourself the favour of going for a PAL system. I made the mistake of going for NTSC and now I'm scouring the whole of lagos for recent titles for my system. PAL is more readily available at Silverbird and Shoprite, without you having to set sail to computer village or alaba market. Better still, you get a power supply that matches ours. |
Mc Brave:Well, I thought I was the only one who was running out of places to find xbox games. But I guess I'm at fault for unwittingly choosing an NTSC system. I look at my PAL buddies and glow green with envy. eventually, I'll sell my set. Pity. |
malikalhaj:ROFLMAO!! Games are almost too big for one to download anymore. Not to mention u can't guarantee the integrity of what you're downloading. Say, what games do you have? I also have an NTSC xbox too. what games you got? and where do you get your games from? |
omega25red:I go online with these: Virtual Tennis 3. Gears of War (1) Devil May Cry 4 (Scores only) There's always a gears of war party everynight, from 6pm our time. My gamertag is Carbine Gammax Ciao! |
Gears of War, online. @Gamine, seriously? that's taking gaming to a whole new level. keep us posted! thnxs! |
It's been the next best thing to happen to me ever!!! So I did the deed, got a good ISP and plugged in. depending on the game the performance was great. I played with 3 US guys on Virtual Tennis 3 & Gears of War. VT3 was a smooth as ever, but Gears of War? Let's just say the sagging connection made me a sitting duck. I saw and opponent have the time to select his weapon of choice before he settled for a grenade and tagged me with it!! It was shameful indeed ![]() It's lovely, and i'm an addict for life! Speaking of which, do you have a gamertag, SeanT21? |
When you're rocking your game and you're tired of/dislike the game's own tracks, what do you switch to? how you do it doesn't really matter (eg:your mp3 player on your sound system while you remove the BGM from your deck OR hooking your mp3's via your x360). So, what's your custom playlist like? I'll go first - other's should go in the same format: Game: Gears of War 1 Playlist: 50 Cent - Getup Crack house - Fat joe ft lil wayne Hero - Nas |
Gamine:I thought so too. But then, I was never the sidestepping type in the first place. But the game definitely has depth: - Focus Attacks (Power moves for offense/defense/tightspot) - EX gauge (Self explanatory) - Revenge gauge (If you're taking a Personally, it doesn't get better than this, for now. |
Just joined the Xbox live experience! Ma Gamertag is Carbine Gammax! |
Never believe what's on print (and on screen too) ![]() just got swift today. also saw the Ad. 200MB in 2mins? Na beans? didn't believe it one bit. but Gamine, this one you're saying swift is wack, na wa o. maybe i'm close to base sha, but i get speeds btw 30-60kb. but it doesn't seem too stable with my Xbox. Could upgrade the dashboard but it tails of on the heavier updates. what would you suggest? My uncle's DOPC is gathering dust faster than i breathe. |
I think the poster made a mistake on comparing the two games as a whole. The first thing that came to my mind when i read this thread was "Dante vs Kratos". If you think about it, I feel that's the way the thread shd go. Now that's bloodtastic! skyope:funny, I was about to oppose when I realize you have a point. which just goes to show they are 2 different games in relatively similar genre you can't really compare them both. As much as i love gow's "epicness", sometimes i just wanna go all guns blazing and hit it (DMC MAN!!! )and now, to steer the thread off topic: Dante vs god of war. TAKE YOUR PICK! EXPLAIN WITH SCENARIO if you insist i start first, no biggie. but i warn you, i might be very biased ![]() |
pop247:God bless you, majortime!. I mean, what the Bleep? There's a line to everything. Come on! Might as well bite my girlfriend's nails off in the absence of nail cutters to show I love her! (nonsense, ) Let's not be so "open minded" that our brains fall off! *hisses, leaves thread* |
@poster, Anyone can get close to/nurture feelings for anyone - it's human nature. What's important is if the love is there. You can be "compatible" all you like, but such an attribute can only enhance the love but not replace it. Most people fall into the habit of seeing if they are "compatible" before they discuss love. While I can't say it's the way to go, it seems widely acceptable (as you pointed out in the advice of your friends). and besides, what kind of mindset would make someone something like "your beauty is wasting". you need new friends o! kai ![]() |
er, closure? ![]() |
texazzpete:Crapware? Nasty! ![]() Assasin's Creed: Very Understandable. I walked in the crowd with a blade hiding in plain sight, my victim not suspecting his impending demise - beautiful piece of art. |
cooldudeng:So you're a PAL user? Aren't you a lucky one. I envy you at the moment. Mega Plaza deals with only NTSC titles, but (wait for it), I just checked Silverbird last weekend (24th), and there's a new store on the second floor on your left as you enter. Boy, they have GAMES - LOTS of it - ALL PAL VERSIONS! Deadspace, FIFA, Quantum of Solace, Burnout Paradise, and so much more (multiple copies). Prices range from 5k to 13k depending on the title. So there you have it Guess Christmas came to you in January - eh? |
fs:I gotta say, this nails it on the head - thank God it came from a lady @poster, I'll have to admit, take fs's and iice's advice. Even if you manage to get a relationship from her, I suspect it won't be permanent one (you might have been the only option at a particular time, after your 10yrs of waiting) - so is it worth it? We ignore the signs in our faces and cry foul later on. be wise man. |
What in the world prompted such a question? GUY! Tough one this is. The Ghost of Sparta versus the Son of Sparda! that's too epic a match for one side to prevail. I suggest you just put a poll to this and let's do this by the numbers!! |
Currently Playing Devil May Cry 4 on xbx 360 . But like someone said, sometimes you don't have the time ![]() |
I'm sure i will. How's your xbox controller now? |
malikalhaj:Both - A game might be out and you still might not find it at your regular store. They didn't have Gears of War 2 but they had Devil May Cry 4 (Sold Out?) |
OMG! You've lost it! |
Mc Brave:wow - you really must have gotten yours from the get-go (2005?). So there's still hope for me! ![]() Previously, playing Assassin's Creed wouldn't have exceeded 1.5hrs. But after getting Devil May Cry 4, man, I'm in the 4hr league ![]() Can't wait for the other games to come out! |
Mc Brave:I have. But by chance I went out with friends to Mega Plaza and it turns out they sell their xbox 360 DVDs for N7000. They had like 2 dozens at the time (Yesterday) - Now I'm a happy man So for N7000, check MegaPlaza. |
malikalhaj:Nope. but I know of someone who's bought More than one xbox (Don't ask how, so he claims - but you get my point) |
First of all, there's a small white button that has the wireless symbol, just over the power button on the console. press it while the xbox is on. the 4 lights will start flashing in a circular manner then, find the same button on the wireless controller (between the shoulder buttons from a top view), and press it as well. wait for the circular pattern on the xbox to stop. press (and hold) the Xbox logo button on the controller for 1.5sec. the indicator on the controller should flash, and then light a single quadrant. NB: if the above doesn't work - is it new? if yes, charge it for a long time (6hrs), then try again. If you've used it before and this is the first instance, i suggest trying a cover plate that uses batteries (in this case, duracell). Sometimes they just misbehave. when you get the hang of it though, no probs! |
i had a problem with of sort when i got my xbox newly, we swapped all sorts of batteries to no avail, till i got duracell. I suggest you do so, considering you talk like yours is new |
malikalhaj:Care to show us some links to back up your claim? no offense, as i'm a new xbox 360 owner and don't want to be looking at a busted console, even after 1year. I personally know a guy who has bought 3. Tips for caring for your 360 - Courtesy of Gamespot |
