In a civil society what dame did is more than enough for Jona to resign? Why should he resign? You are complaining about people who were trampled in ND for Jona - are you kidding me? Having said the above, I hope the girl's family will make Oyedepo pay by filling their own lawsuit.

In fairness, the Ribadu committee has been under attack by lawyers and other agents of the oil cabal since the committee’s inauguration. The thieves claimed that setting up of the committees was an unconstitutional transfer of the powers of the Petroleum Minister and that of other agencies and parastatals of the ministry. They brought a suit which sought the court’s interim order restraining the said committees from exercising its duties.

It was not until June 6 before a Federal High Court in Lagos has cleared this legal hurdle that impeded the operations of the Ribadu committee. Let’s give the committee a bit more time to do the job properly.

Almost 3 years ago, I complained that the poor Northerners and Almajiris were the most marginalized Nigerians. One dummy, DapoBear, on his 7th post on NL attacked me here and summarily dismissed the need for well meaning Nigerians to challenge their government for these atrocities.

People like Beaf and PhysicsQED would rather blame the demise of these marginalized Nigerian on Governors/LG chairmen from the North and hide under the phrase “charity begins at home”

These so-called enlightened people conveniently ignore the fact the Federal ministries of Education, Works, and Interior alone, have been run by Southerners who have spent (stolen) over $89.89 billion over the past 15 or so years. They ignored these same poor Northerners.

The marginalization of these Northerers by the government aided and enabled by the lack of protests from people like Beaf, PhysicsPHD, Dapobear, is now biting the whole nation in the butt, in the form of BH. These three musketeers are government enablers in these atrocities, to say the least, and they represent the useless Nigerian youths.

Obama has now told you people the truth which you continue to reject because you prefer the tribal based interpretation of events.

The only way to redeem yourselves is to join hands with well meaning Nigerians and chase PDP out of Abuja in 2015. Enough is enough

It is only ignorant people like KOBOJUNKIE and his footsoldiers, who have no knowledge whatsoever on the workings of law, that will ask for suspects to be rushed to court. It is one thing to accuse or charge. It's one thing to establish a prima facile case of corruption against a suspect. It's entirely a different ball game to prosecute and secure a proper conviction.

The ultimate end is not arraignment but conviction. The latter requires a water tight evidence secured by proper investigation by the police. That FACROOK report, if left to stand on its own, cannot stand the rigors of a full trial. The prosecution needs to reduce recommendations to offenses punishable under our laws. They need to sift sentiments from facts. They need to make witnesses of some of those who testified at the various public hearings. It is not a tea party.

Eziachi: There is a big different between constitution making and a certain law that concern a certain sector of life, that is where you lobby those involved, who may not be familiar with that sector but will play a huge role in passing a law regarding it. I am a member of British medical association, we spend millions each year lobbying parliamentary groups over issues concerning our sector.

In constitution, everyone is involved, you can't lobby a person who doesn't agree with you neither you, neither will you waste your time lobbying who is in the same boat with you, because constitution a matter of public opinion, who will decide in a referendum unlike parliamentary legislation, where you lobby just the law makers.
Stop digging yourself into a deeper hole. Everyone has a stake and should be involved, at least through his/her representatives in NASS, in the process of enacted laws, bills, and constitutional amendments. You get involved by trying to influence the outcome through your reps, via lobbying or other means. Must I break it down to this level to you?

nwanne, cut your losses and stop responding. I am seriously restraining myself because I respect your sacrifices as a veteran. Please don't make me call you olodo - such words are reserved for onlytruth and his likes.

Eziachi: By wise and savvy you mean deception, conning, not saying how you feel, get one over the other people and we are happy. When people say that they play Nigeria politic well, they may be right but that doesn't mean a complementary way of doing things. You may get what you want by being savvy and wise by the Nigerian standard, but you will end up hurting yourself in future.
Your mindset and those of most of these so-called Igbo leaders need to be revamped. This is not a Nigerian thing as you stated above. Stop trying to deceive us by implying that you do not understand that lobbyists in your country of residence do not go around posting their interests all over the internet while presenting same, to lawmakers for action.

Tell me, what does Ohanaeze stand to gain from this showboating?

Eziachi: You are right, it will end up where others before it ended up. most recently PRONACO and in the past Aburi accord. I want you to reason as a reasonable person you are not project it as something from the Ndigbo, as tradition, should not be accepted. How is some persons or group of person's opinion on how they see a possible better future in their opinion be show boating?

The usual Nigeria way is that few people should be privilege to see certain thing and make all the decision, therefore it has to be in secret. What makes you think Ekweremadu opinion better represents Ndigbo than me or Uwechue, just because he call himself a senator?
Constitutional issue is opened to every body and shades of opinion, irrespective of individual public position.

Scotland may have their chance in 1914 whether they will go alone or continue with GB and so far both pro and against has launched their campaign including both low and mighty in open debates, its not give to exclusive people in government.

Let other group produced theirs, just as PRONACO, OHANEZE has done and let see and compare, debate, agree and disagree on various issues/points raised. If by this kind of sentiment you allowed the likes of Ekweremadu to decide who gets what and who belong where, you will end up with the old ways, because their first concern is to protect whatever their statu quo are
This should not be a time for whining and/or effeminate emotionalism. One would have thought by now, you boys would have been sober. Political expediency should guide the actions of Igbo leaders at this point in our history. Wise and savvy interest groups lobby quietly and achieve much more than foolish people who announce their wishes to the whole world . My advise is free and you people don't have to consider it. Ignore it at your peril.

Here is a tape recording of a sting operation by the SSS being distributed to the media in a successful attempt to render the evidence useless. Who released the tape to ChannelsTV?

(1)Otedola's camp
(2)SSS
(3)PDP Machinery through their SSS accomplices
(4)The pet goat in Lawan's compound
(5)All of the above except 4

My answer 5.

This saga may be the greatest 419 in history, perpetrated by PDP, against the Nigerian people

Businessman Femi Otedola told the House of Representatives Ethics and Privileges Committee that the audio tape of his purported telephone conversation with Hon. Farouk Lawan did not emanate from him, a member of the committee said at the weekend.

Mr Ibrahim Bello (CPC Kaduna) said: “When we asked him about the audio clip, he told us to even summon the media house and demand how they came about the tape. He categorically denied the tape and said he had not discussed with anybody.
“He denied the audio clip. All he said at the meeting was that Farouk Lawan lied four times and that’s all. What I am saying is on record and we have it.”

The House Committee is probing the $620,000 bribe for-clearance allegation between Lawan and Otedola.
The Chief Executive of Zenon Oil and Gas has accused Lawan, the chair of the House ad-hoc committee that probed the subsidy management fund of demanding bribe to get his company’s name off the list of those who got foreign exchange but imported no fuel.

He said he informed security agents following which he gave marked cash to Lawan.
The lawmaker after an initial denial, said he collected the cash as evidence that Otedola forced him to take a bribe.
Bello, however, said rules are meant to be followed, irrespective of status, which is responsible for the insistence of the Committee to hold its sessions behind closed-doors.

He said: “Nobody can come and bend our rules. We don’t have any business with Otedola. I said it before his lawyer, who told him not to talk with us and answer our questions. He was only a witness before us and we told him categorically. We have ten lawyers in the ethics and privileges committee.
“But he came with a Senior Advocate who sat beside him and told him not to answer our questions. He didn’t know that Otedola was only a witness before us and we told him categorically.

“But the position of the Nigerian law as at today is that he who gives graft and he who receives are both culprits. You are not a member of the parliament and you were alleged to have given one of us something which is illicit, then, you are the best person to come before the Committee and tell us the true position of what transpired before you and him”.

Bello said the importance of the case would not give room for laxity as the integrity of the House as an institution is at stake. “This particular issue is a unique case. As a committee, our business is the conduct of affairs of our members. But this matter is unique because it involves somebody who gave and somebody who took. The allegation is that somebody who is not a parliamentarian gave to a parliamentarian.
“And we in the parliament want to ascertain the veracity of the claim. Are we going to import a demon to come and find out what transpired between Otedola and Lawan?”

“It’s a matter whereby the onus is on Otedola to come before us and give us justification testifying to the fact that truly he gave Lawan graft because he is an accused person too by virtue of our laws. So, can you see the fallacy in this country? We don’t know who is protecting the accused person here.
“He (Lawan) came and we interrogated him for almost four hours after giving his testimony he left, with the arrangement that whenever we need his presence he will come back. Now he (Otedola)is insisting that we should go into a public hearing”.

The lawmaker also defended the action of the Committee on its decision to hold its session in secret, saying, “Let me tell you, there is a difference between a public hearing and a committee sitting.
“In a public hearing, each and every Nigerian has the right to come and witness the sitting as long as such a person will maintain the peace. But in a committee sitting of this nature, it is strictly restricted to members of the House especially as it concerns the conduct of a member of the parliament hence we had to meet in privacy.
“Because we are not a court neither are we a tribunal to give a verdict. He doesn’t know that we cannot give verdict. We are just to analyze by law, our own findings and take back to the House. That is our limit. We can either punish Lawan nor Otedola.

And we do not have any provisions within our standing rules where we can compel Otedola to give any testimony. But the law of this country provides that he who asserts must prove beyond reasonable doubt. So, what is beyond reasonable doubt here? In as much as Otedola was the nominal complainant in this allegation but he declined in giving statement.
“We are not hiding anything and we are not protecting anybody.
“We have been cautioned. Any of our member who goes the extra mile to do anything that is abominable is on his own. Every member is assumed to be responsible and reasonable.
“That is why we are going to do our work without fear or favour. We will do our work diligently and report back to the House”.

PapaBrowne: Already, 100% of the proceeds from agriculture already goes to the host communities. Your love for oil didn't let you realize that.
When a farmer plants on his land, he sells the produce for 100% of the price he determines best for him.
When oil is farmed off the lands of the Niger Delta, nothing goes to the communities by virtue of the land use act that gives the government 100% ownership of every oil that exists beneath the soil.
How I Wish the nutrients that exist beneath the soil were also taken over by the FG such that after farming, the produce would be taken to Abuja for submission and the proceeds would be shared amongst the states with 13% going back to the farmers regions.
Who is this guy with akamu inside his head? The bill in question will tax oil and gas corporation additional 10% of their profits and distribute the proceeds to a few states. Pray tell, which Agric companies are similarly taxed 10% where the resulting proceeds from federal government accounts are distributed to only Agric states?

The proposed bill has excluded the Petroleum Equalization Management Fund. Instead there is the Petroleum Host Communities Fund, which will now provide 10 per cent stake in the profits of oil and gas companies to host communities.
These fools are not yet sober. 10% stake in profit of oil and gas companies' from off shore activities must not be included. While we are at it, 10% stake in Agric products, and other similar products should go to host communities as well - in a separate bill. 10% from coal should go to Enugu and other places. As a matter of fact lets do this retroactively 10-20 years should suffice.
