Lesson, There is nothing monolithic about the Yoruba people. Each group has its own language, history, land claims etc. After this dream splitting of the country, the Yorubas may end up splitting into 50 more pieces for there to be peace. You people are already e-attacking Jarus for not being a detribalized Yoruba man. I see Aigbofa flexing e-muscles and sharpening his e-RPGs already. olodo ![]() |
Katsumoto: I am with PhysicsQED on this. The bolded (complete confederation) above, is what we must strive to accomplish. Unlike many of the lazy intellectuals who are out of touch with the realities on ground in Nigeria, I believe that this is a better and achievable alternative than violently splitting up the country. Nigeria cannot be split up peacefully given her complex makeup. I cannot support any scenario which will lead to the deaths of millions of Nigerians. Period. |
I'm tired of these announcements by the FG which promise things that will happen in the future. I'd welcome an announcement such as "There has been no power outages in the last 6 months". For now, FG can shove this announcement of theirs where the sun doesn't shine. |
Not sure whether this should be classified as a bribe, nonetheless, I paid N1000 to a policeman. The scenario: I was on a pleasure ride on my motorcycle along Ahmadu Bello Way in Kaduna and when I slowed down for traffic in a roundabout, a young police officer essentially jumped on my machine and ordered me to ride him to the police station without even telling me my offence - imaging that! I parked the bike and told him that I need to see how much money I have in my pocket. When he climbed down and I noticed that he had no guns or other weapons on him, I gave him a dirty slap and asked him if he knew who I was. While he was still in shock, I gave him N1000 naira and told him to careful who he harasses, then I rode off. |
andrewza: I would like to add that the current black run south africa is actually wealthier than the apartheid regime. Nigeria is so far behind because they not united every other thread is about breaking up and civil war. They actually not the giant of africa more a tall deck of cards. Until they unite they can not improve. And before you call me a racist I got my facts from the ISS who have a lot of intellectuals from Nigeria. You know Nigeria is one of the countries on a list that is likely to fall in to civil war. You one of the most imported nations in africa but some really smart people fear you may destroy your self.I am a proud Nigerian and I completely agree with the above post. |
These officials do not have the capability to count how many students graduate from secondary schools in Nigerian states, let alone count the number of unemployed youths in these states. Do they even know the population of residents of these states? Statistics ko, Becomrich's Satellite Imagery Estimation ni. Nonesense!! |
Is Nigeria Better Off Split? Is this a trick question? Oga mi, if Nigeria is split then you no longer have Nigeria. How then would an entity which no longer exists be deemed good, better off, or best? I hope say we never drink kai kai early morning o. It is too difficult to workout sharing formulas for ports, off shore resources, and other national assets, to make any kind of peaceful split work. So, nwanne OP, your question is hereby rendered INVALID. |
Nope, I think you've nailed the biggest key item. South Africa is South Africa, it doesn't want to change shape the people in it who are fighting for improvement are fighting together not fighting to separate. Nigeria's shape is in spite of its people who seem to focus on the idea that each of them are what's making Nigeria strong while everyone else is dragging Nigeria back. It really doesn't matter if Nigeria stays together or breaks apart from the perspective getting people skilled etcetra, but in terms of getting Nigeria employed it's crucial. Nigeria can communicate on the world stage by virtue of its size. If it breaks into 36 countries of 3 million people each, none will have any more global sway than Benin. Until Nigeria can convince the world that Nigeria is geographically and democratically stable people won't invest. And what's more, people won't invest if they have to pay bribes to access the services they should be able to take for granted.
Ki-Katanga, I cannot disagree with your post because it is very sensible and points out the fundamental element which fuels our underdevelopment. Many of our "leaders" and intellectuals, including multiple PhD holders like PhysicsQED, one Dede1, Katsumoto, and others, fail to see the point you've made. Many are blinded by tribalism and bigotry. @PhysicsQED, what would be my motive for trying to scare people who think "rationally" off, when my main goal and wish is for the betterment and advancement of my dear country, Nigeria? I'm afraid you are the one who is being irrational by believing that we can go our separate ways peacefully. I'll stand corrected if you can tell us how to achieve this peaceful separation. |
PhysicsQED: smhIndeed. Trust me, when the shiit hits the fan, most of the NL tribalists who come here to spew hatred and venom, will escape abroad because they have the means to do that, the rest of them will remain abroad where they currently reside. The over 120,000,000 Nigerians, who live on $1 / day and are trapped in abject poverty will be killed by the millions if a violent separation occurs. After having thought about our condition for years, I cannot foresee any scenario which would lead to peaceful separation. We are better off working through the mess. We can win the fight. Anyway carry on with your discussion - I did not intend to derail the thread. |
So, let us say for the sake of argument that El Rufai failed as federal capital minister. Does this mean that he is also responsible for Nigeria's lack of success in athletics in 2012? I do not see how this logically follows.
The conclusions reached by the posters you responded to were not based on logic. You are expecting too much from people whose logic is highly influenced or even overwhelmed by tribalism and bigotry. Can anyone deny the fact that our showing in this 2012 Olympics is anything but pathetic? |
The intellectually lazy, pessimistic, and hopeless husband, typically looks for divorce as a way out, when his family problems become difficult to solve. The said husband will believe that divorce is the answer despite the fact that he has become a grand father and will become a great grandfather in another year. That kind of a husband is definitely not a real man. TO KEEP NIGERIA ONE IS A TASK THAT MUST BE DONE. QED |
Honest Observers, Sycophants, Political jobbers, PDP members, Members of opposition parties, Men and Women of repute will answer “The President of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan” to the following question: “Where does the buck stop?” No sane person would say that the buck stops with Tinubu, El-Rufai, Buhari, Seun, or any other Nigerian. Most sycophantic GEJ supporters are simply engaged in the shameful game of buck passing. I know of many ardent supporters of GEJ’s who also agree that the President is failing, as far as tackling the Boko Haram issue is concerned. This honest admission does not make them less of supporters of GEJ’s, in fact many of them support GEJ with their time, money, and write-ups in our news papers. I find it interesting that the sycophantic supporters of GEJ on NL are basically toothless, have no influence whatsoever on GEJ or his policies, but are driven my myopic objectives, bigotry, and the need for online attention. These people have my pity. I am tempted to call these sycophants, Ode Iddo, Mumu, or simply, Onye Apari |
All politics aside, it appears that NLers actually love each other. Most of them are wonderful people who cannot hurt a fly. They simply use NL to vent their anger and displeasure - NL is a better therapy than employing terrorism or subversive methods. |
This is a very good opportunity for Nigeria to have a very heavy millitary presense on our borders with Bakassi. We cannot allow the opportunistic Cameroonians disatbilize the region. If they mess up, we should retake the territory. OBJ can go to blazes. |
EzeUche: Bakassi people supported Biafra. And do you know what language the people of Bakassi speak? They speak Efik.Which other languages do 'biafrans' speak apart from Igbo. This will help clarify things. |
Dede1: If Biafra had lived, Bakassi would still be part of Biafra and colonists in ICJ would no chance to rekindle their colonial wickedness. Where is ICJ in places such as Palestine where Anglo-Franco-German colonial lines of boundaries are rubbished? How would the annexation of 'Bakassi' differ from colonization? Are the Bakassi people Igbo? It is becoming clearer what the biafrans were up to: essentially forceful capture of other people's oil rich territories. |
Its high time we started a conflict with Cameroon and capture/reclaim some of our land and more. Afterall Israeli still retains ownership of Palestinian land it captured during the six day war. Cameroonians can kiss my Nigerian behind. Nonesense!! |
This news would have been better titled "Suspected Criminals Strike On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway". These Punch journalists are irresponsible. |
We all should condemn the apparent religious persecution being perpetrated by GEJ's administration through his agents. Why didn't they go and arrest El-Rufai and others, days ago and why harass them when they are on thier way abroad for lesser hajj? |
Thank goodness for freedom of speech and a democratic system. In other dispensations, noisemakes such as terrorist Asari, would have been dealt with by a single smooth rock from a catapult or other projectiles. He is actual;ly smart enough to know the lines to avoid crossing. |
Kobojunkie, Kobojunkie, Kobojunkie!!! How many times I call ya name. ![]() |
Alhamdulillah. ![]() |
Dede1: When issue of Nigeria’s disintegration on the table for discussion or seriously contemplated, any talk of political support from Oodua or people from Oodua’s region should be discarded or thrown into trash bin.It is this kind of political immaturity that guarantees that y'all are going nowhere anytime soon. You people need to learn how strange bedfellows can usher in a winning situation. Watch out for 2015 and learn. |
FSU: HO MANY GRANTS HAVE NORTHERN STATE GOVERNMENTS/AGENCIES PROVIDED TO BUILD CHURCHES? ARE YOU THIS DAFT?I don't have time to educate a dullard on NL. Make a point relevant to the thread's topic if you need additional attention from me. Ewu can bia |
FSU: How many grants have been given by Muslims to northern Christians to build churches in the North, let alone to Igbo christians to build churches in the NorthIt appears as if you don't now how to read or are outright stuupid. Did I call for any religious group to provide grants? I was referring to the government agencies and others. Please note that I have little patience for dullards who argue blindly. Take a breath and go and reread my posts or beg your superior, Eze Onlytruth, to provide you with an interpretation of what I've posted. mumu |
FSU: Ndu Chuks the hausa Malu:What's with the name calling? I didn't think you suffered from the same inferiority complex exhibited by the likes of PointB and others. olodo |
Onlytruth: Oh, you mean your brother Sanusi who sees the Nigerian Central Bank as an Islamic bank dished out some cash to some churches to mask the millions he handed over to Islamic causes, and you are here expecting the same for your shack at Bridgehead Onitsha. Ewo, sorry bro. The shack will go down before your brother uses Nigeria's money to do that. You sound like a very ungrateful goat which has being allowed to eat small garri from the stand, but decides to come back 10 more times for additional garri. olodo. Eze, your stance is not helping your brothers who make at least 30times more money from the Northern parts of the country than they do in alaigbo. You may not be able to deal with the response you'll get by being disrespectful to your guests. Igboland is not big enough to accommodate all of you. Be wise. |
Onlytruth: All the bolded are pure lies or hanging lies. You mean ANAMBRA STATE donated N70 million to a church for borehole? You are a lazy ignorant fool and I don't have time to educate you today. Go and research all the grants you people received through government agencies, CBN, and other non profit organizations then come back and talk. dummy |
Onlytruth: You see? Thoughts like the bolded keep convincing me more and more that the ONLY solution to Nigeria is outright disintegration. Nothing else can work.I didn't hear you calling for disintegration when N70million grant was awarded for a borehole project at the Church of Christ in Nigeria (COCIN) Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre, in that your area. olodo Ignorant Eze does not realize that a majority of Igbos are neither Christians nor Moslems. |
nwanne m GEJ, Ramadan Kareem sir, biko arrange an amnesty package worth say, 1 - 2 million naira for this name sake of yours and make the menace go away. dalu o. |
CyberG: And who's this idiota who has no opinion of his but follow around like a lapdog!?? Buzz off, stupido! The OP is indeed silly. We are yet to see the photograph of the "dilapidated" mosque. We are instead provided with pictures which show the incompetence of the state and local government in providing a safe and environmentally clean conditions for residents. That neighborhood needs to be cleaned up. Blaming the poor condition of the surrounding to the presense of a mosque is shameful of the OP. @OP, Okwute angry MASSOB terrorists piafuka gi isi. |
A more sensible solution is to provide a grant to be used to upgrade the mosque and beautitify the neighborhood. If a road must pass through the mosque's current location, you negotiate quietly with the owners of the mosque, relocate them in a dignified manner to a mutually agreed upon area, and compensate them handsomely for any inconvenience. It does not require complex rocket scientific calculations to do this. |
