This beautiful lady who is now our Chief Justice is a brilliant, smart, extraordinarily intelligent, no nonesense lady. If the powers that be hope to manipulate and use her, they'll be in for the biggest shocks of their lives. Carry go Autie. We've got your back. |
We all know that it is a crime to violate traffic laws. I just hope Fashola's PR operatives are aware of the dangers of embarrassing our military officers for trivial traffic infractions. A word is enough |
violent: Yes, we all prefer seeing effective enforcement mechanisms. You know, those street cameras, tracking devices, smart policing, an unbiased ruthless judicial system etc etc....We all want those!see me see trouble o. You don't make a good adversary at all! ![]() How am I supposed to disagree with what you wrote above? |
violent: I don't give a crap about Publicity stunt!....I want to see scapegoats!I'm with you on the bolded, but I'd prefer that the governor puts effective enforcement mechanisms in place to achieve the objective. Having the Governor himself personally enforcing traffic laws is a sign of failure. @naptu, I'm with you as well, but for goodness sake, the governor should not be out in the streets issuing citations for traffic violations. |
umechuma: Aboki na Aboki come rain, come sunshine.I'm sure you know that "Aboki na" translates to "My Friend". You too are my friend, rain or shine. ![]() |
We wish Mr. President success and God's speed in defeating these enemies of Nigeria. Mr. President, they are now firing RPGs on Nigerian citizens and their properties, when will you command our forces to fight and win this war? Recent attacks on some communities in Plateau State which left scores of people dead, including a Senator and a member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, have nothing to do with the Boko Haram sect, President Goodluck Jonathan has said. |
violent: I can't believe the things i read sometimes!I honestly don't give a damn about your moral standards. I will state however that, most of what you wrote up there is not rocket science and is really common knowledge. Only a dullard will believe that there is no value in law enforcement. Your rants however cannot rob me of my right to express my opinion. I maintain that this act by Fashola will not have any long lasting effect on the behavior of the people who break BRT rules. If you do not share my opinion that Fashola's act in this case is nothing more than a cheap publicity stunt, that's your own cup of tea. Our law enforcement agencies can do better than this one off crap by Fashola. Fashola has no business personally enforcing traffic rules, why breach your own security protocol for cheap publicity? ![]() |
Some Nigerians are jokers! Fashola did not arrest anyone, if anything, he caused a massive traffic jam which resulted in millions of naira in lost revenues related to productivity losses enabled by Fashola's gustapo activities. I'm not sure you people know the meaning of arrest. BTW which law did Fashola break by stopping his convoy in heavy traffic? Isn't that a lawless act as well? This stunt reminds me of those of American rappers, just before they drop CDs. I suspect Fashola's new PR firm will get a bonus for setting this one up. |
naptu2: In primary school we were taught that there are two types of Fulani, the "Town Fulani" and the "Cow Fulani". Later we were taught that the term "Cow Fulani" is derogatory and that they should be called "Nomadic Fulani".^^^+100 The earlier the incompetent officials in charge realize that this problem requires a very comprehensive solution, the better off everyone will be. Instead of wasting funds on useless programs, ECOWAS should for once, join hands and come up with a holistic solution. These 2 different civilizations are going to clash in a most unexpected manner if a solution is not found soon. una dey deal with a few thousand Normadic Fulanis now, make una wait until their numbers reach several million and the cows reach even more millions. na dat time una go hear wen!! |
hmmm, It looks like one of the basic theories of marketing was applied here: the customer is allowed to have his/her way atimes even when he/she is blatantly on the wrong side. Wisdom was applied here. BTW: Igbo kwenu na dis place?? I dey hail o. ![]() |
jmaine: The service chiefs of the Nigerian Armed Forces and the defense ministry insist that it isn't any witch hunting expedition . . .They are set to handle a severe security breach and inter boundary mercenaries that may incur huge collateral damage and they are trying to avoid that . . They specifically cited alien foreign incursions largely blamed for last weekend blood bath and if not quarantined, may affect other states . . .If indeed you have foreign fighters in those villages, then the army has goofed already. Why wouldn't these foreign trouble makers blend with the villagers and escape during this evacuation? Additionally, what prevents them from holding villagers as hostages and human shields? man mi, the strategy is senseless |
Obiagu1: I completely disagree with you. We can't take the back door or like you said "doctrine of necessity" to solve social issues. First of all, Nigeria has a constitution and every Nigerian has the right to reside wherever he chooses without fear. It's incessant failure of the government to resolve the issue that's the problem not the Fulanis. Fulanis need grazing lands, farmers need farmlands. It's not beyond the government to forbid Fulanis from grazing in certain areas, but they should be provided by law where to graze legally.^^^+100 These is the kind of mindset which will set Ndigbo free. nwanne m, I applaud your wisdom. |
Onlytruth: So, how else would the government bring the murdering tribe to compliance with the Nigerian laws? The bolded exposes your bigotry, tribalism, and racism. You should hide your face in shame. ewu can bia You are one of the people urging the Nigerian security to shoot UNARMED MASSOB members, but you would take a contrary view when it comes to a group that is virtually at war with almost every host community in Nigeria.I challenge you to provide a link to the post(s) where I urged the shooting of unarmed MASSOB members. Be man enough to tender an apology if you can't find a single post. Eze m, when did you start telling intentional lies? I can pardon you for telling them because of lack of correct information and ignorance, but this new technique of yours is dispicable. |
Onlytruth: If all it takes to pacify and bring the Fulani under the control of Nigerian laws is this action, then I say FULL SPEED AHEAD FOLKS.Foolish Eze prescribing lawless, unconstitutional, and senseless military action to bring law abiding villagers under the control of Nigerian laws. SMH at turning logic upsidedown. |
Were there any resettlement plans for the displaced people? The authorities must have known that most of these people had no means of relocating elsewhere. We know who to blame in the next few weeks when armed robberies and other crimes increase. |
Why do you people always have to fight over trivial issues like the very accursed tribalists you are? ![]() The facts are: (1)The Edo electorate and citizens decided to ensure that their voices are heard by turning out and voting (2)The Edo electorate and citizens did their best to prevent rigging where they could (3)GEJ deployed 3500 troops to maintain order - lack of order during elections is a major ingredient for rigging (4)The Nigerian police also recalled Olayinka Balogun, the Edo State Police Commissioner, to the police headquarters. Commisioners are typically active in organizing rigging. There is therefore certain amount of kudos that are in order for Mr. President. The greatest kudos obviously belong to the Edo people who have shown Nigerians, why they are one of the most civilized people in Nigeria. No wonder their empire reigned for ages until Fodio dealt with them. ![]() |

wesley80: How much more obvious do you guys want it to get before you finally see Farouks report is virtually worthless? The guy left out some fifty of the biggest marketers and tried to rope in an innocent man he felt was buoyant enough to afford his "fee" for crying out loud! If Aig could indict the likes of Oando, MRS and Raham-whatever, then I certainly do not think he's going to let SPG off the hook regardless of who's associated with it. its so far so good for Aig and so far no hope for Farouk - same for his report. You are yet to give me a good reason why anyone who has been identified as a potential oil subsidy thief by any report should be free from further investigation or prosecution. I don't give a darn about the Farouk/Otedola saga but ANY party identified be either of the 2 reports should be given the opportunity to come and clear his/her name in the court of law. Why are you willing to prevent prosecution and further investigation of parties who are named in the NASS committee report, even if they may be guilty? It makes no sense to me and on the surface appears to be another scheme to protect some of the President's men. Let everyone named come and clear his/her name including Zenon oil!! Shi Kena |
Beaf: Nobody gives a rats arse about Farouks cap inspired report, bro. There is nothing wrong with your statement above, but to use bribery scandal as an excuse to exonerate all the 'thieves' listed in the report, including some with friends in high places, is worse than insanity. Anyone who does not see the sense in submitting the names of ALL the parties listed in both reports to the EFCC or some other body for additional investigation and prosecution, should be stoned right alongside the thieves. |
koruji: Not demonstrated jack. The only reason this went well is because the candidate was popular, and his party had a great machinery in place to counter the many well-known rigging plans by PDP.In addition to the above, rigging was thwarted by the deployment of 3500 troops to the state and the fact that Nigerian police recalled Olayinka Balogun, the Edo State Police Commissioner, to the police headquarters. If these are what it takes to prevent rigging in our elections, I wonder how many armed soldiers we shall need for the 2015 elections. |
I applaud this AIG committee for identifying more subsidy thieves. What must now be done is to hand over all the parties in both the Farouk report and the Aig-Imoukhuede report, over to EFCC or some other specially constituted team, for the prompt and vigorous prosecution of all of theses thieves. In addition to those identified in both reports, investigations must continue to identify other thieves who may have fallen through the cracks. Let the prosecution begin. I'd also recommend that companies who can offer to repay substantial percentage of the subsidy funds they illegally obtained be immunized from prosecution. This should help us recover the stolen trillions of naira from these people promptly. The next step would be to make one or 2 examples of these thieves with long term prison sentences or simply public execution or stoning. no long ting. |
wesley80: ^^ Perhaps the brave thing for you to do should've naming those on this thread you're disappointed in, isn't that what this is supposed to be about? or are you related to Farouk? Meanwhile, continue here and tell me those omitted by the Aig committee.; www.nairaland.com/990527/fuel-subsidy-probe-aigs-cmteeI'd rather focus on discussing how to bring these thieves to book than argue about who was excluded in which report. I do believe that a good starting point for bringing the thieves to book is to combine both lists and start prosecuting from there while adding more names. There is nothing brave about naming those I am disappointed in because names of faceless people are meaningless. I will gladly tell you that I am disappointed in you because you are spending too much time arguing with your NL enemies instead on focusing on how to prosecute the identified thieves so that we can recover the loot. N.B. It is noteworthy that Otedola's companies were omitted in the Aig list |
I find many posts here disgusting and I am completely disappointed in many of the posters here. The only thing clear to me is that the Farouk report excluded some 'guilty' parties from indictment and this Aig-Imoukhuede's committee excluded some 'guilty' parties as well. What must now be done is to hand over all the parties in both the Farouk report and the Aig-Imoukhuede, over to EFCC or some other specially constituted team, for prompt and vigorous prosecution of all of theses thieves. Shi kena. |
namfav: what we call persecution, and every fulani in the middle belt should not feel persecuted and victimised? and who is arrested on the side of the birom and other groups? technically this is a declaration of war against the voices of fulani in the region, you remember we have people sitting in power who have failed the regionThis man honoured an invitation from the Commander of the Special Task Force (STF), Major General Henry Ayoola, and he was rewarded by being handed over to the State Security Service (SSS). His Birom counterpart remains free to continue to lead his war against the Fulani people. This strategy simply shows the incompetence of the leaders of the STF. They are fueling the flames of war rather than trying to put out the fire. STF knows who the leaders are on both sides, where they live, how they operate and who their financiers are. Why can't they round up all the leaders and come up with a comprehensive plan at the federal level to resolve the conflict. A military strategy lead by incompetent generals is a recipe for failure. |
I don't believe that Oshiomhole warned that there will be trouble if the true winner of the election is not declared. That would imply that Oshiomhole already knows the election results. I think this is simply sensational journalism which should be condemned by all. |
Beaf: The one thing that MUST NEVER happen, is allow these folk go mental in the SW. That is simply crossing the the line; they have no remote claims to roots anywhere in the SW. Therefore, I imagine whatever scotched earth action is being carried by JTF in Plateau state will be increased 7 fold in the SW.I'd worry about those folks going mental in your neck of the woods before concerning myself with the SW, if I were you. The next frontier of this mess is the SS, naturally. Lets hope the authorities remove their buried heads from the sand very soon. |
Let it be known to all that the ill-advised proposal to scrap the equalisation, bridging funds and replace it with a 10% tax on oil & gas corporations, which would only benefit "host" communities and result to higher gasoline prices in the Northern part of the country, has been removed from the final version of the PIB submitted by the administration to NASS. The inclusion of the 10% tax could not have passed any constitutional challenge anyway. We are watching these people very closely. |
