Onlytruth: lol. You used a term you are very familiar (and conversant) with. You know what I mean.
Onlytruth fears no one though. cool
The truth is that I (like most sensible posters here) always look to see who is viewing the topic before posting.
It gives us a way to deliver targeted posts. cool cool cool
You ran away from that thread and snuck back to deliver this load of lies.
Shame on you. Dan banza.
I thought you were bright enough to know that you could be long gone after viewing a thread but still appear to be viewing the same. Please read up on caching and refresh rate as they relate to web sites/pages. Keep on chasing shadows, mumu.

In the meantime, please rebut the statements by a major voice in your community if you are able to do that. Here's is your opportunity to show that you are a bright Eze. For now, Okwute Palestinians piafuka gi isi, ewu can bia.

Suprise me and other nairalanders by discussing issues rather than personalities for a change. I ask you, Nchara, what is your specific disagreement with the statements made by the former President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo? We are waiting for your sensible rebuttal. Don't disappoint us.

Why are you people distancing yourselves from a leader in your community? What a shameless and disloyal people!!! Show me what you disagree with in his statements, stop worrying about his position. Andre_Uweh and Nchara, address the points your leader raised if you are smart enough. Lets hear your specific objections.

Nchara: OP is a bloody liar. That was the opinion of Ikedife and not that of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo
Do you even know what Ohaneze means? It means all and sundry. So which all and sundry Igbo does Ikedife of today represent?
Ohaneze cannot support Buhari whose blood-thirsty comments led to the death of Igbos in the North after the last election and continuing.

Please tell your man Buhari that he can never win any election in the SE and SS. He knows that, and that is why he never bothered to campaign in those areas.
shatap dia!! you must be a small boy if you do not know that Ikedife was President- General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, and when he speaks, he represents your lot. mumu

Your childish manner of attempting to change the topic at hand is ineffective from my point of view. The issue here is that Ohaneze Ndigbo has spoken through Ikedife. Your views on this are irrelevant

A rare voice of reason.

More knocks for Jonathan over face-off with Buhari

More knocks came the way of President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday over his response to General Muhammadu Buhari's warning against rigging in the 2015 elections.

Former President- General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Dr. Dozie Ikedife, said Gen. Buhari was being unnecessarily vilified, noting that worse statements had been uttered by other people. This, he said, includes the "do or die" declaration by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Ikedife said: "It is necessary that we speak the truth and face the fact. Buhari should be praised for having the courage to say it the way he saw it and to sound a note of caution. And I want us to take that note of caution seriously.

“It is important that we evaluate the message rather than kill the messenger. His words are not worse than the man who declared that 'this election is do or die'. I think what Buhari is saying is 'don't win by hook or crook and that they should allow the opinion of Nigerians to prevail.

"Any person who faults that should tell us what he wants Nigeria to look like. It is absolutely necessary. If we want to entrench true and proper democracy, it should be one man, one vote. Every vote should count and be accounted for."
Ikedife does not see Buhari as desperate for anything other than his yearning "for a peaceful Nigeria where true democracy thrives. And he should not be vilified."

In the same vein, Second Republic governor of old Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa described the controversy generated by Buhari's statement as totally unnecessary, arguing that even President Jonathan had, in the past, made statements that have greater security implication for the country than Buhari's.

He said the case of Buhari has attracted more attention only because he is a former head of state. Otherwise, he was merely saying what every other Nigerian has been saying in respect of rigging elections.
He said: "The controversy is unnecessary for two reasons. First, what Buhari said is what every other Nigerian has been saying about the need for free and fair elections. But because Buhari is a former head of State, more people react to whatever he says.

"Secondly, even President Jonathan had, in the past, made statements with far greater security implication than what we just heard. If a president said all public institutions have collapsed, isn't that a serious statement with greater security implication?

With regards to Boko Haram, if the President said Boko Haram has infiltrated all government agencies including the Presidency, is that not of greater security risk?

What's the matter with you people? Buhari used a phrase commonly used to describe a fierce contest and you people are shi ting in your pants.

It is in everyone's interest that the 2015 presidential election is not rigged blatantly. The only outcome which will prove that rigging did not take place would be the ouster of PDP from office. If that does not happen, I don't believe our country will survive the aftermath of the repercussions. The alternative would be for GEJ to do us all a favour and desist from contesting.

Literal translation is usually damaging.

Biri = Monkey

All I can do is shame my head as I watch my dear country being destroyed by incompetent rulers. GEJ and his team need to cool down and take control of the security issues facing our country instead of sending small boys to verbally attack the highly esteemed Buhari, after Buhari made a statement that is truthful regarding 2015 elections.

I join fellow gullible Nigerians, Amaechi, and others to say very loudly, that this explosion was caused by robber who was irresponsibly smoking a cigarette near naked petrol.

koruji: I have said it before Buhari cannot help Nigeria. This is not how true leaders save a nation.

Always threatening fire and brimstone. How about lead a body of knowledgeable individuals to help INEC identify potential 2015 problems and correct it right now?

Even more urgent - how about helping to save the nation from the disintegration that looms before 2015 if your backyard keeps going boom, boom, boom.

How can Gen. Buhari be talking about a free-and-fair election when anybody with half-a-minds eye can see that no elections will take place in northern Nigeria if BH is not completely put down soon?
The above commentary reeks of naivity and complete ignorance of the Nigerian condition. Let me remind you that, when GEJ and his cohorts broke the power sharing agreement which called for power rotation between North and South, we warned of the dangers which would result. It goes without saying that those dangers remain with us as we speak. If you believe that a power sharing agreement existed, ask yourself why CAN could not find a presidential candidate from the SW and had to bring Ribadu in.

Let those who have ears listen – PDP has done enough damage to our country. The final straw should be the inaction of the federal government given the massive corruption and outright theft exposed during the fuel subsidy probe. Nigerians should be in the streets, revolting and demanding action from the federal government, but as expected, cowardice has been chosen by the youths and others.

PDP must go, that party has had enough!!! Indeed if a free and fair election were held in 2015, this party has no chance of winning. Any outcome, short of expunging PDP from office is tantamount to massive election rigging. Insha Allah, if that happens in 2015, the Dog and baboon will be soaked indeed. A word is enough for the wise.

Beaf: This post fully exposes the low self esteem issues I have been talking about. How can we even properly table matters of progress when members of our elite can be so shallow minded?
What has eating with our fingers got to do with development? The mere thought is too ridiculous to be taken even as a joke! angry
Low self esteem ke? I don't have time for psychobabble abeg. Your culture and traditions are the main culprits here and without a major re-engineering, the status quo will remain.

The truth is bitter I know, but it remains the truth. It is the same cultural and traditional values which have rendered you unable to constructively criticize GEJ under any condition and make you run around defending him blindly. Until you are freed from the "bush", I'm afraid you will remain backward. Try to travel around some African countries and go where people actually live, away from the western style hotels, talk to them, and the reason for your backwardness will become apparent.

In fact go to your own village and look around you and again, you'll discover that your culture and traditions are the worst things you've got. Most of your practices need to be jettisoned. olodo.

Politics › Re: Theories To Explain The Backward State Of Africa by nduchucks: 10:11am On May 09, 2012
Without much academic mumbo jumbo or pretty analysis, I'll say that Africa is backward because of the very African culture which makes one an African. This culture and tradition does not encourage anyone from challenging views held within the community even if they have been proved to be unworkable and senseless. Innovation is taboo in many cases. Question an elder and you could be ostracized from the community.

Even when an African is removed from Africa and placed elsewhere in the world, the African is still limited by this culture and tradition. In short, you can remove the African from the bush, but you cannot remove the bush from the African. Place an African in a 'first world' country, he/she will still prefer to eat very hot Eba or Akpu with his fingers even when forks and knives are readily available.

To progress, the African culture and/or tradition must be completely eradicated. The eradication of this culture is impossible, hence Africa will remain in its currect state unless a global disaster causes a major reordering of the world order.

You guys are jumping into possibly unreasonable conclusions here. This former deputy governor is now a lobbyist and the sign in front of his office is for publicity. You people will look like fools when you find out that he built the office with his own funds.

Believe me, the guys who become your governors and deputy governors are more brilliant and smarter than most of you. Think about that.
