Jakumo: Personally I tool around in a seriously modified but VERY UGLY 30-year old car when in Nigeria, however, those plain looks and faded paint job hide a ridiculously powerful, highly-tuned V8 engine that has enabled me to leave much newer cars driven by banditos in the dust on several memorable occasions.Jakumo, you dey fear? Aren't you aware of the services of highly trained and well equipped security outfits in your neck of the wooks, here in Nigeria? With the kind of fear you are expressing here, one wonders how you'll react, when your idol, Gen Buhari and his lovely group, (a.k.a Nigeria's moral minority), come for you. |
I don't believe the youths of this country have a good understanding of the level of corruption and decay in all aspects of government, including those in the executive branch. If they did, they'll be protesting on a daily basis until the government is brought down. Shame on our youths!!! Some of the ones from the North are reacting and a few from the south, but when are we going to have our own Nigerian hamattan, like the Arab spring? Our youths are as useless as their fathers, sorry to say! Gowon and Ojukwu did what they could, in their 30s. PDP has to go!!! |
Gbawe: My brother, you "overheard" nothingGbawe!! oro e ti su mi. ![]() I think the PDP, for the first time, is beginning to realize that if they do not change, they will lose power at the Presidential level. They just may be willing to make the move I referenced in my post when they see the handwriting on the wall that their game is over. If the PDP is not ready to change, the party will not win in 2015 - that's all there is to it. |
I overheard (don't ask me for details) that if a merger of political parties results in a potentially winning solution, PDP will ask GEJ not to contest and tell the nation that he is a man of his words, in order to save the party. PDP will then present a credible, progressive, and formidable candidate from the North, and a credible and popular VP candidate from the South (Soludo, Anyim, and others come to mind). Akala will not be considered for anything . May God keep us 'till then |
A Igbo candidate could help, but all they can guarantee is SE votes if Jonathan runs. That's not enough reason to put a Igbo candidate on top of the ticket of a merged party. Secondly, all the latent talks of seccession and biafra among Ndigbo, has created a deep distrust which is now working against the SE. No one is sure that Igbos are truly ready for one Nigeria. When we have full commitment from their leaders, the situation may change. There is also the issue of the unwritten agreements which caused all major parties to present a Northerner as their flagbearers for the last Presidential election. A merged party must present a credible Northern candidate, if we want to start healing the damage done by GEJ which is currently contributing to bad economy, bad security, and bad government. In my humble opinion, power has to return to the "North", if we are to survive as a nation beyond 2015. We cannot ignore the realities of the power sharing arrangement which has kept us together for decades. |
Did you guys notice that the corrupt oil thieves and oil subsidy cabal made sure that no newspaper reported Buhari's prescription for their crimes? SMH |
Biafra4tharmy: Ndewo Nwanne mmadu. Chiukwu ga enye anyi obodo mara mma ala Biafra!!!mechionu gi! obodo mara mma biafra ko, odoko biafra ni. |
This report must be inaccurate, GEJ and his handlers could not have offered N20million. GEJ will not intentionally insult these Elders. Each of those elders probably drives a N20million SUV. |
Onlytruth: ndu_chucks and Northsharp, I see that both of you are just here laughing your as.ses off while some idiot is ranting, and you say nothing (frankly I don't take any Yoruba id.iot seriously. lol). When some Igbo dude comes here to respond you wake up from the dead. What is your problem, Eze m, have you gone blind and senile already? ![]() I suppose you did not read my condemnation of the killings and my post here. In case you've become a blind bat, I will repost it again.
^^^^+1000 I'm impressed by the brutal honesty of some of the posters here. Even Onlytruth is making sense, I suppose its still morning where he is located and too early for drunkennes.
|
So how did they vote? Who voted for and who voted against? Also, can the Senate by itself amend an act of the national Assembly without a vote by The house of representatives? I thought Senate + House of Reps = National Assembly, No? Anyway, for those who are interested, below is the link to vote and proceedings on the HOA site, it has not been updated since February though, maybe we can get some detailed info from reporters covering the house. http://www.nassnig.org/nass/votesenate.php
Ah ah, you are expecting too much out of the system. The entire charade was predictable and I'm afraid you'll not find out who voted for or against, any time soon. Sadly, this is the way things work around here. ![]() |
Ibime: The Assembly will ask GEJ to share N20 bln to pass this bill, and knowing how many times GEJ has performed a volt-face (no going back on subsidy etc), he might not want to be caught with his pants down again. That would leave us with the ridiculous scenario of GEJ sharing money to the Assembly for an unnecessary bill that everyone protested against, just so GEJ can save face.^+100 It appears you have a good understanding of how the current system works. The system is worse than corrupt. ![]() |
I believe this man, Gen. Buhari, can clean up our mess in a couple of years of ruling. |
Back when Beaf was still innocent ==> SNC |
This was the same way that Otuoke and eight other villages got fresh varsities by executive fiat recently, only to have NASS ratification later. GEJ is now doing the same with renaming Unilag. This is the main reason why I did not understand the outrage expressed by many SW leaders including MKO's lawyer, who should have known better. I suspect there are other reasons, yet to be articulated, about the said recent outrage. |

The Nation gathered that some youths from Obosi, allegedly dressed in MASSOB insignia, invaded Okpoko and demanded tenement fees from residents. Sources said they attacked residents and dispossessed them of their belongings. What exactly makes one a member of MASSOB? If people dressed up in MASSOB insignia, invaded Okpobo, demanding tenement fees and terrorizing the community while singing biafra songs, they should be rightfully arrested and dealt with accordingly. Their leaders should be investigated and arrested if necessary, as well. Has MASSOB become a "non violent" terrorist organization, terrorising innocent citizens and shaking them down for money? If so, this is a very sad development. SMH May the souls of the dead RIP |
davades: Point of correction, they killed Biafrans not Nigerians...are u one of emI think this guy may be a dummy. BTW, What kind of meeting were they having at the offices of the group in the commercial city of Onitsha with 500 people arrested? Aren't there convention ceters and hotels with facilities for such meetings? |
Please explain to me what rule was violated by my response to this post. Your response will help reduce future violations. This is the first time my post has been hidden and I don't believe there was anything therein which warrants deletion, but I'm all ears. Thanks |
Beaf: How can a flag be displayed so "treasonously" that the response is 16 dead? The display of the flag cannot justify the killings. It is hard to make sense of it and only a person with a warped mind would think this, in of itself, justifies killing those people. I was just curious to know whether those people were displaying the flag and chanting anti Nigerian utterances, in addition to perpetrating other crimes, which prompted the raid. In any case, an investigation is in order. |
May these Nigerians' souls RIP. Security operatives have no business killing Nigerians unjustly. These operatives and their commanders need to be dealt with accordingly if the killings were not justified. I have a few questions though: (1) Did the security operatives shoot in self defense? (2) Were these MASSOB members displaying the biafran flag treasonously? (3) What criminal activity by MASSOB prompted this raid? Killing 16 people and injuring 83 for no reason at all does not make sense. What were all those people doing at the location, were they perpetrating any crime? |
The results of this 'survey' should be discarded. This is the worst time to conduct such a survey; at a time like this even the Pope and the most spiritual Mulah or Monk will be rated very poorly. Give GEJ a break. |
While Buhari's statements might be construed as political, I think he may be right. FORMER Head of State and presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), yesterday expressed shock over the Sunday’s DANA air crash. |
First thing first. Arrest Dr. Dana and a whole host of dana executives and lock them up pending further investigation. This Dr. should rot in prison. |
Al Bashir, is technically correct and he probably should add that most of the oil production is done by corporations wherein Northerners are the largest shareholders. Don't ask me why that is the case. Bashir is indirectly saying that the SS is really the Parasite here. In addition to Bashir's claims, most of the oil revenues is from off shore oil anyway, far away from the SS in Nigeria's waters. If I were Edwin Clark and others, I wouldn't push this thing too hard, there may be more to lose than gain. |
lekkie073: The ill-fated Dana plane had been under repair for several weeks and the airline's station manager protested its use but the Indian mgt insisted it should fly!>:O.Source please?? |
shymmex: Definitely foul play...Why are you saying it is definitely foul play? While that cannot yet be ruled out, I don't believe we have enough information to reach that conclusion at the moment. May God punish regulators who allow residential areas to be located so close to the airport. |
May the souls of the dead RIP. Where was the plane headed and/or where was it coming from? I'm getting conflicting reports which involve Abuja/Lagos or Lagos/Abuja. GEJ needs to bring international investigators in ASAP. We must get to the bottom of this crash, I pray it is no worse than an unfortunate crash and that the incident does not become a game changer in our security challenges. Amu. |
Jakumo: The culprit behind this air-crash was not the Boko Haram terror group, but rather too high of a touch-down speed by the pilot in command, for the wet conditions on the runway at the time.May the sould of the dead RIP. According to BBC: Witnesses told Reuters news agency they saw the Dana Air plane strike the two-storey building and burst into flames. |
Why are people who are not members of APGA attempting to control the activities of APGA members? Who is Uwazuruike to sanction and rein in Victor Umeh, regarding APGA matters? These people need to come out of the bush and learn to participate in the political process like civilized people. What nonesense!!! We will gobble up APGA soon enough. |
Gbawe: Ok, but be careful with your thread topics in future. Your thread title , without any quotation marks, will lead folks to interprete your submission as your own thoughts. I fervently agree that the PDP must be voted out. All they do is deliver, time after time, desperado Presidents (OBJ, Yar Adua and now GEJ) who spend all their time attempting elaborate deceptions simply to facilitate the most basic and unthinking greed that enables "business as usual" to continue.People should not respond to threads without reading the posts contained therein. I must confess that it is difficult to disagree with anything you wrote here. |
