Politics › Time Bomb Detected In Bayero University Kano, by nduchucks(op): 7:58pm On May 01, 2012
Let's hope this is not another one of government propaganda in an attempt to look good after failing miserably, in the past few days/months to protect Nigerians. May God help us.

A day after the attack that claimed 19 lives at the Old Campus of Bayero University Kano, a time bomb was detected at the New Campus of the institutions located some kilometers away.

Security source informed Daily Trust that the bomb had only 25 minutes to explode when it was discovered and disarmed by security operatives.
The bomb was placed at the first floor of a building housing the institution’s sociology department.

Our correspondent, who was at the institution earlier in the day, observed men of the Joint Security Taskforce patrolling the New Campus. Security was high at the entrance of the university.

When contacted, JTF spokesman Lieutenant Ikedichi Iweha, said the outfit was not informed of the time bomb, referring our correspondent to the school’s public relations officer.

The spokesman, however, confirmed that time bombs were detected at the scene of Sunday’s attack by security agencies, saying they been detonated.
ndu_chuks, I cant believe you wrote that GEJ should step aside because of Boko Haram. If GEJ does that it means any president of southern extraction in future is doomed to the same fate because as soon as he gets elected and another orgy of violence erupts he'll be asked to step down.
My suggestion is based on recent revelations by GEJ's own national Security Adviser who has a better perspective on the security situation in Nigeria than most people, including the President. Azazi, the National Security Adviser to the President, links recent escallation of violence in the country including Boko Haram activities, to the PDP agreement which GEJ refused to honour, thereby causing the effects highlighted by Azazi.

Your assertion that if GEJ does what I am suggesting means any President of southern extraction in future is doomed to the same fate because as soon as he gets elected and another orgy of violence erupts he'll be asked to step down, is unreasonable, uninformed, and frankly naive. I'll address the rest of your post later.

Mr. President, London Nigeria is burning o. Please announce with immediately that you are not running for office in 2015 and use your remaining days in office to deal a death blow to BH once and for all. It would be honourable of you to sacrifice your 3rd term in office for the precious lives of fellow Nigerians.

Five persons were killed at the weekend in Adamawa State by unknown gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram. A police inspector was killed in Jimeta.

According to reports, a police patrol team was attacked leading to the death of a police officer and a female colleague on duty. A few hour later two civilians were killed at a shopping complex building in the heart of the state capital by unknown gunmen who rode on a motor bike.

The slain police officer was attached to the police station in Jimeta before he met his untimely death. It was gathered that at Demsawo Street in the state capital some gunmen who rode on motor bike ran into the police special Anti-Robbery Squad SARs which was on patrol and opened fire on them leading to the death of the officer while another sustained injuries.

It was believed that the gunmen were members of Boko Haram Islamic sect, although the suspects are yet to be identified.

The residents of Demsawo, a suburb in Jimeta who spoke to our reporter described the incident as most unfortunate "it will be the first confrontations by unknown gunmen against the police patrol team since the killing of SARs commander in the state.

Also at the Mubi residence of the Assistant Financial Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State, Alhaji Abdulraman Kwacham and two of his security guards were killed by unidentified gunmen at their duty posts. Azazi angle

According to an eyes witness, Mr. Danlami Audu told our correspondent that two men came to the politician’s house on a motor bike pretending to be his associates.

I think you racists, tribalists, and bigots need to get used to the fact that the FG alone is committed to building 400 Almajiri schools across the country. Additionally, more $100 million has been committed to these schools by the Islamic bank, a financial commitment which should result to even more schools.

The innocent Nigerians, the Almajiris who are some of the most marginalized and victimized Nigerians are finally getting some help. It is unfortunate that many of you would prefer that they remain uneducated while living in your state, instead of them going to Almajiri schools which will be built where they live. These kids are Nigerians and they can live and go to school anywhere they choose.

I hope many more schools are built in every state to cater to these God's own children.

The faceless NL "bright intellectuals" are basically full of hatred and bigotry, but will, in their usual display of intellectual dishonesty and lying to themselves, claim that they are fair minded and educated people who are only out to seek the truth of the matter at hand.

They got very excited thinking that they've finally "got" SLS and posted junk and frankly, other criminal speculations about how Sanusi may have compromised his integrity in many other ways.

The sad thing is that most of these people are exiles and under achievers who are not recognized for any meaningful contribution to the diaspora society which they live in, and are not known for any accomplishment in Nigeria. Understandably, they are filled with anger and hatred for any accomplished overachiever like Sanusi, in addition to being consumed by self hatred.

Dede1: For the sake of this argument, let me play along with you on this goofy allay barred of any human intelligence. If you did not base the 5 air strikes on PH and Warri with additional 4 air strikes on seaport on antiquated Jianjiji F7 fighter-bomber, how on earth would your delinquent brain deliver the payloads? Okay, now I remember the cruise missiles that have range of more than 5 thousand miles are stockpiled in Nigerian armory.

It is funny when you continue to insinuate about surprise attacks. The surprise will be lost when the antique junks such as F-7 and Jaguars fighter-bombers will crash on the runway while trying to takeoff.
You continue to deceive people with your pretence, but I know better. The point I was making was that the Nigerian airspace is more porous than the land and sea borders leaving our most valued assets including ports very vulnerable. You don't really need an F-7 to do damage to our ports. Just today, their was an explosion at the Apapa port which caused severe destruction of assets.

For your information we have 35 of these Aero L-39 Albatros which are capable of ground attack missions. I will post pics of the heat sensing sophisticated bombers once I get my hands on them.

Politics › Oil Tanker Explosion Destroys Containers, Cars At Apapa Port by nduchucks(op): 1:11pm On Apr 24, 2012
A government which pays no attention to the security of our most valuable physical assets and that of its citizens, is beginning to see the result of its incompetence. It is too easy for a rogue criminal to cause havoc in our country at the moment. SMH

LAGOS—There was pandemonium, yesterday, at the Tin-Can Island Terminal, TCIT, in Apapa, Lagos, when a 5,000-litre oil tanker, supplying fuel to the terminal’s cargo handling equipment burst into fire and exploded.

Although the cause of the explosion could not be ascertained at press time, Vanguard gathered that the fire, which was followed by an explosion, affected several containers stacked in the terminal, as well as cars parked close by.

During a visit to the terminal, a clearing agent, who spoke with Vanguard, said seven containers and their contents were badly damaged while a crane was also affected.

The agent said the TCIT management tried to move some containers from the site to safety.

Following the explosion, Vanguard gathered that the TCIT management ran its operations outside the terminal before the arrival of fire fighters from the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA.

Operations Managing of TCIT, Mr. Ludovic Johan, said it was not an explosion but a fire incident that occurred while a fuel tanker was refilling its cargo handling machines.

He, however, refused to speak further on the incident, and referred Vanguard to the managing director of the company.

Another official of TCIT, who simply identified himself as Richard, said it was a 5,000-capacity haulage tanker.

Richard, who said no life was lost, confirmed that some containers were affected.

He noted that the consignments in the containers were not affected before fire fighters from NPA came and put out the fire

Dede1: You have just confirmed your level of intellect or lack thereof with this post. If your aim of reducing Port Harcourt and Warri to ashes is centered on this Chinese built MIG 21 MF also known as J-7 (Jianjiji) F-7 fighter-bomber, which can only operate during the daylight, I suggest you go back to enjoying the deep slumber.

I seriously do not believe the jetfighter is still operational because both Russia and China had discontinued the production of the aircraft. The hope to get needed parts to keep this junk operational must depend on the people who have junkyards or aircraft graveyards in Europe. It really sucks to be a Nigerian. It is very shameful to know that the cream of the crop of Nigerian air force is a discontinued Chinese built F-7 fighter-bomber.

Ignorance is an abyss which keeps people away from realm of reality and you are free to flaunt it.
nwanne, you are becoming quite slow these days. Your belief that I threatened to reduce Warri and PH to ashes, based on the MIG 21, is laughable. Here is what I wrote, since your eyesight is beginning to fail you:
On another note, I believe that a peaceful disintegration of Nigeria is impossible and Clark and his group should be very careful. It only takes 5 air strikes on key facilities in PH and Warri, 4 air strikes on the seaports, without any ground troops to render all of Southern Nigeria completely economically unstable and set back 60 years
You pretended not to understand what I wrote in order to mock the great NAF, ko? What I hoped you people would get, is the fact that the Nigerian airspace is more porous than the land and sea borders. We have no security preparedness regarding our most valuable physical assets, hence MEND could force the reduction of oil production by more than 50% without using any sophisticated high tech weapons.

I maintain that a few surprise air strikes in broad day light with the least sophisticated fighter-bomber jets you can find, targeted at key facilities in the cities mentioned and some sea ports, would render not only Southern Nigeria, but all of Nigeria economically unstable in addition to setting us back at least 60 years!

In the meantime, the executive branch is spending billions on security without paying attention to securing our most important physical assets. That's the point you should have figured out. But instead of using you heads, you people turned everything into a threat by Northerners against Southerners.

Other than the idiotic political lexicon within the cesspit called Nigeria, there no reasonable place that fashions such nonsensical phrase, not even in neighboring Republic of Benin or Cameroon. A poster had early asked if you are a Hausa or Falani or Nupe or even Kanuri as we know them in Nigeria but chose to ignore the question.

Ndigbo are not rejecting anybody for any reason and certainly not because ndu_chucks is allegedly opposed the idea of disintegration of Nigeria or actualization of Biafra or formation of Republic of Igbo land. In any political matter, the people of like-mindedness tend to form bounds even if he or she is not Igbo. There are Ogoni peeps that would rather have Biafra than Nigeria. Folks such as ndu_chucks have choice to make when Biafra is actualized. They can leave the entity known as Biafra or drink poison.
You have accidentally written a sensible post here. The bolded is a key point not understood by many NL bigots - you seem to get it. You then went ahead to spoil everything by the ignorance you displayed in the post below:
Dede1: You dropped the ball big time with this thread. Of course, I had to agree with you that disintegration of Nigeria can never be peacefully but treat of non-existence air force is a practical joke. Most of the air force planes will not be able to takeoff from the base. Even if they do takeoff, there are many shoulder-held stinger missiles and launchers that would waste those trainer aircrafts in Nigerian air force arsenal. The best fighter in Nigerian fleet is Jaguar, a post WWII British attacker plane.

Again as for the idiotic Edwin Clarke, who was nobody like Adaka Boro until Gowon and deluded Nigerians of 1967 pushed them to recognizable scene, he remains an insignificant entity.

I could not believe my eyes you were all over the crap posted by doctokwus like houseflies over human feces. It is unfortunate to read the level of human value you espoused on this thread which is dangerously low. Does it mean in today’s Nigeria any lapper who happens to win any election by any fathomable means becomes Igbo elite and leader?

It must be politically or socially reiterated that any blue-blooded Igbo chap that hunger for the nonsensical presidency of Nigeria should be shot.

NorthSharp: I agree with the part in bold - that you generally tend to take non-tribal views on most issues and, as your signature visibly shows, you are a die-hard believer in 'one Nigeria', a position that makes your Igbo brothers and sisters on NL reject you as one of them - even though you have repeatedly stated that you have Igbo blood in running in your veins.
Don't forget that I confided in you by revealing to you where uwa na (uwani as we called her)is from. Well, I was also born there, so are my maternal grand and great grand parents. I leave it to you to determine whether the blood of those ancestors flow in me or not. Now, that takes nothing away my utterances here.

NorthSharp: Now how would I know if your suggestion of the hypothetical 'air strikes' against WARRI and PH and your issue with Edwin Clark, and the whole attraction of the Ango-Clark story to, and your opening of the thread, were not motivated by the lingering historical problems you Igbos have with your neighbours, the Ijaws?
All you had to do was ask.

NorthSharp: I had pointed out on many threads that although you are NOT a Hausa-Fulani Northerner,....,.....,...
May I ask you whether it is impossible for a person to have hausa-fulani, yoruba, and igbo blood flowing through his Nigerian veins? Enough of the ethnic talks.

Northsharp, it appears that what really bothers you is the abuse of Hausa-Fulani Northerners on NL and the fact that many of the abuses take place in threads I open. You see, my people are in denial and they do not believe that Nigeria is here to stay. They are tribalists and do not know how to be nationalists.

What bothers me is the abuse or maltreatment of any Nigerian, regardless of his/her tribe. I am thankful that I have been detribalized to this extent and this characteristic has been very helpful in business and other relationships.

Try to ignore the bigots who are quick to reign abuses on Northerners who they blame for all problems and ailments they face, from not winning elections to having craw craw, induced by unhygienic conditions. Many will even blame Northerners for causing their wives not to sleep with them. smiley
