Politics › Re: How The Igbos Worked For Buhari's Victory -shettima by nduchucks: 12:22pm On Apr 02, 2015
There is absolutely nothing wrong with trying to rebuild broken bridges.

Shettima's point is well taken. It is no secret that many Igbos, probably millions of them live in the North and the vast majority of those who voted there, overwhelmingly voted for Buhari. Similarly, a substantial number of Igbos in Lagos and other SW states voted for Buhari.

The leadership of our Igbo people is what is lacking, shallow, and essentiallly unsophisticated, as far as political calculations go. We must replace the old coots who run the SE governments with young, exposed minds who are ready to accept Nigeria as their country. The old coots who are still fighting the civil war in their heads must be replaced ASAP.

I salute Okorocha and hundreds of thousands, if not millions of our Igbo people who voted for change.

Why no bomb now for four days?
I will ignore your name calling.

When GEJ decided to use appropriate and overwhelming millitary force against the Boko Haram thugs just before the elections, we saw the effective outcome. That force is still in place and active and it shows that the insurgency could have been contained long ago. Unfortunately for GEJ, he could not use the recent successes to his advantange.

Secondly, Azazi told us that Boko Haram is PDP and PDP is Boko Haram. I submit to you that what kept PDP members away from Aso Rock today and caused Sambo and Faka's offices to be closed is the same cause of the inactivity of Boko Haram. Chew on that mumu.

Naija, I never thought about the idea of a senator defecting to APC, but then it will be very unwise to leave such a position to someone who just want to 'come and chop'. Besides, you can't trust a senator who defected from PDP with a such a seat.
Such a position is too important to give to a defecting senator who does not prior loyalty to the majority party and who essentially would be a political prostitute. I'm sorry to say that the SE had made this bed and will have to lie on it as such.

But on a more serious note, it's a good development for Nigeria and all Nigerians, regardless of region or religion, should celebrate. I also hope we can really grow PDP to be a formidable opposition party so we can sustain this two-party system. NEVER again should we go back to regional parties.

As it stands there is no way back for GEJ. GEJ is history his time has past and GEJ is bowing out graciously like a Statesman should.

But after the election then our courts and our Judges must stand up and uphold the Nigerian constitution.

Let Kwakwanso who was the APC runner up or Osinbajo who is the VP-elect emerge as the President elect. That's fine. That's APC's prerogative.
Let it be clear that APC owns this victory and not Buhari. so the party can still retain the victory after Buhari is disqualified

But as a Nation trying to grow, it will be criminal and a sacrilege if our constitution is not upheld just because of the fear of Buhari. For God's sake an incumbent President just lost an election and no one is threatening war. Let the rule of Law be upheld.

Disqualify Buhari NOW!!!!!
nwanne m, I congratulate GEJ for exiting the scene with grace.

No judge in Nigeria will disqualify Buhari under any condition, for the same reason that no judge disqualified OBJ or GEJ, despite blatant rigging by PDP. Just accept the man as your president and move on.

Many of us blamed Obasanjo for imposing GEJ on us.

If we are to be honest with ourselves, Obasanjo righted the wrong he did against Nigerians by making statements, writing books, revealing many many damaging information which truly contributed to GEJ's demise.

For Obasanjo's contributions, I hereby forgive him and state categorically that I no longer harbor any ill will against the former President. OBJ Baba, you did not make hating you easy with many of your antics such as dancing shoki and doing many other funny things. smiley

As you all know, I'm a staunch supporter of Jonathan, The final result has not been announced, but I see Buhari winning this election; No two ways about that. GEJ has lost the election, It's over, it has been a really tough battle, It was fun while it lasted; the insults, wink , The teasing and the bashing, I personally enjoyed every bit of it.
For those of you saying "SeverusSnape will soon deactivate", No way!.... I ain't deactivating, once a nairalander, always a Nairalander.
To all GEJ supporters, I urge you all to support the new government of Buhari and contribute your own quota to the development of this great nation. Jonathan has tried his best, let him just leave the rest.

That's all I have to say for now.

God bless president Jonathan
God bless the president elect, Muhammadu Buhari.
God bless all Nairalanders.
God bless all Nigerians.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

You fought well and should be proud of yourself. God bless you, God bless this great country.

And the results of Katsina & Kano huh
No one has provided any evidence of fraud in those states and I'm pretty sure that you are bright enough to know that Rivers is the only state which has required immediate investigations by INEC.

International observers were in Katsina and Kano as well as other observers. No one has made accusations of blatant fraud.
Politics › Re: Jega's Announcement Of Presidential Election Results 2015: Part 4 by nduchucks: 11:21am On Mar 31, 2015
Given ample evidence and pressure from UK & US, INEC is poised to cancel the entire election and results from rivers.

If one candidate leads with more than 1.4 million votes at the end of jega's exercise, this cancellation will become inevitable. INEC needs to send a clear signal that this kind of blatant rigging will no longer be tolerated. The world is watching.

There is also tremendous pressure not to cancel Rivers' results. na wa o.

You better hurry up because you may not be able to do so very shortly. The wind of change is here to stay. I remind of this singular contitutional provision, which will find its way into our constitution wherein a citizen of Nigeria is an indigene of a particular community of a state in Nigeria if he was born in that state.

Politics › APC Loses Six Rep Seats In Lagos As Igbo Political Clout Grows. by nduchucks(op): 7:21am On Mar 31, 2015
The All Progressives Congress has lost five House of Representatives seats to the Peoples Democratic Party and a seat to the Accord Party in Lagos.

Investigations by our correspondent showed that most of the reps lost in Igbo- dominated local government areas. shocked

Sources in the APC said the love the people of the South-East have for President Goodluck Jonathan positively affected the PDP candidates, some of whom had not even been rigorously campaigning.

In Amuwo Odofin local government, which has a very high Igbo population, especially in areas like Kirikiri, Satellite Town and FESTAC, the PDP candidate, Oghene Egboh, who is from the Niger-Delta, defeated Mr. Ganiyu Olukolu of the APC. shocked

In Ajeromi/Ifelodun, which is one of the most densely populated areas in Lagos State and is home to Ajegunle (another Igbo dominated area), the PDP candidate, Mrs. Rita Orji, who also hails from the South-East, defeated Taiwo Adenekan of the APC.

The story was the same in the Igbo-dominated Ojo LG, where the PDP candidate, Mr. Tajudeen Obasa, won the seat.

In Surulere federal constituency 2, which is home to Aguda and a few Igbo settlements, Mr. Tunji Soyinka of the PDP defeated Mr. Hakeem Bamgbala of the APC.

It was learnt that apart from the ‘Igbo’ factor, the incumbent rep, Mr. Aliyu Kazeem, had been in court with Bamgbala over the conduct of the primary.

It was learnt that the division within the party gave the PDP the opportunity to penetrate the community.

An APC leader in Surulere said, “We are still in shock. Haliyu Kazeem, who is the incumbent, lost the primary in December last year and refused to work with Bamgbala. He took Bamgbala to court and they are still slugging it out.

“If they had put things in order, we would not have lost. Bamgbala is a former chairman of Aguda Local Council Development Area and a good grass roots politician.”

In Mushin federal constituency 2, the APC candidate, Yemi Alli, lost to Dauda Kako-Aare of the Accord Party.

Kako-Aare, who is the incumbent, lost at the APC primary last December to Alli and defected to Accord.

In Oshodi/Isolo federal constituency 2, the incumbent, Mr. Akeem Munir, lost to Mr. Tony Nwoolu of the PDP. shocked

OAM4J:
blank, PDP mathematics is out of this world, those guys are capable of anything. It is safer to work with their extreme possibilities.

Rivers current written result is 1.4M and Delta is abt 800k but the news underground is that they are planning to double Delta to close the gap and damm the consequences. Delta has a voting population of about 1.8M. Though I learnt the INEC guy is not cooperating, but anything can change overnight.
Providence is not going to allow them to inflate the Delta numbers as planned. I say so with confidence because the state Collation Officer, Prof. Bolaji Aluko, is of impeccable integrity and will never allow that to happen. Aluko is the last person that PDP would want to be the collating officer of Delta state.

Aluko was the one who initiated the arrest of an INEC officer who started to collate without authorization. Having Aluko as the atate collating officer is like having a person with the political mindset of Soyinka being the collating office and expecting PDP to be able to change results.

With 800k votes in Delta, its game over.
