I am from anambra, and you are not from anambra. I know the story of my people more than you think you know.

Democratic election are opportunities for people to vote for politicians who will represent their interests, eliminate their problems, and also bring them the dividends of democracy. This was what Nigerians were expecting, when they voted enmerse for buhari and APC in 2015. APC and buhari came with so much promises. The people believed them and voted overwhelmingly for them. But today, Nigerians are disappointed. Non of the promises made by APC was kept by buhari. APC promised us restructuring, they promised free education. They promised stable and regular electricity. Etc. But today fashola himself who once criticized Jonathan for not providing electricity for Nigerians, is now finding it very difficult to provide the same electricity. All the gains PDP made in advancing our democracy, has been derailed or completely destroyed. Since APC assumed power they have not been able to conduct any election to pure conclusion, all they been able to offer is chronic inconclusive elections, all over the federation. APC came on board promising us to fight corruption, but since the , they started their corruption fight, no single accused has been convicted by the law court. What will we not talk about? Is the the high rate of human right abuses under this government. We have the case of the shite Muslim leaders, whom the court have on so many occasions granted bail, but buhari chose to disobey the court, and has continually held this man in detention. infact this government has failed in all ramifications. I don't know any single thing I can point at, that they have initiated and finished. what of the high profile corruption scandals that has rocked this government from time to time? Just recently we had the case of forgery against a finance minister. A responsible government that is seriously fighting corruption would have arrested and prosecuted her, instead of allowing her flee out of the country. APC is a complete fraud, and it is only a foolish fool that will continue to support them blindly. Security wise, we also know that this government has failed woefully, let's take into account the killings that been going on in the middle belt, by the herdsmen. This killing has been going on while the government chose to spend their time, accusing the opposition (PDP) for sponsoring the crises. And When they saw that Nigerians weren't buying into their blame games anymore, they diverted their blames and Libya and late Gaddafi. Buhari now travels out of Nigeria for medical tourism, anyhow he likes , he couldn't even equip the aso rock clinic, we all heard is wife (Aisha) complaining the other time, that even simple syringes and cotton wool were not available in the clinic, but buhari travels on medical tourism , when ever he likes, even when he has simple illnesses, like ear infections , that can be treated here in Nigeria. Go to different Nigerian hospitals and see how Nigerians are dying for simple treatable illnesses, go to LUTH and all our major other government hospitals. Why can't buhari bring those kinds of hospital and medical care he enjoys abroad, over here in Nigeria? Is it not as simple as flying this high quality doctors, back home to train and retrain our doctors? And also buying those standard equipments he enjoys over there, and bring them here to equip our hospitals into modern standards, in accordance with what is obtained overseas. Please Nigerians let's change this hopeless change in 2019. Let's vote for our well-being and that of generations, yet unborn. Nigeria must not continue like this. A chieftain of Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has said that the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Leader, Bolaji Tinubu must be naive to think that the North will allow him to succeed Buhari in 2023.
Adebanjo further called on the people of the South-West not to allow themselves to be fooled by Tinubu a second time.
“Tinubu is daydreaming if he thinks the North will ever support his presidential ambition. We have our principles,” Adebanjo was quoted by Punch as saying.
“We are not supporting Buhari under any circumstance and Tinubu cannot lead Yoruba land because all he has done is to lead us astray. All he has done for us is to give some of our people who are close to him appointments.
“Nothing tangible has been done for Yoruba land. He gave his stooges appointments, nothing more, nothing less. If he has done more than that, let him say it.”
The 90-year-old said the only demand the Yoruba had made was restructuring, which the APC had been dishonest about.
He added, “How can they be telling us about restructuring committee, when from the outset, they were supposed to have started restructuring. Who do they think they are fooling?
“If Tinubu is daydreaming, he shouldn’t think others are daydreaming like him.

LAGOS—THE Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos State, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, has said the state is important to Nigeria’s development that an individual would continue to determine who governs it.
He also promised to empower the local government system to deliver service for the people of the state.
In a statement, Agbaje said that rather than a few people with vested interests determining who governed the state, the onus lies on the people to elect their leaders.

Igbo Landing is a historic site at Dunbar Creek on St. Simons Island, Glynn County, Georgia. In 1803 one of the largest mass suicides of enslaved people took place when Igbo captives from what is now Nigeria were taken to the Georgia coast. In May 1803, the Igbo and other West African captives arrived in Savannah, Georgia, on the slave ship the Wanderer. They were purchased for an average of $100 each by slave merchants John Couper and Thomas Spalding to be resold to plantations on nearby St. Simons Island. The chained slaves were packed under deck of a coastal vessel, the York, which would take them to St. Simons. During the voyage, approximately 75 Igbo slaves rose in rebellion, took control of the ship, drowned their captors, and in the process caused the grounding of the ship in Dunbar Creek.
The sequence of events that occurred next remains unclear. It is known only that the Igbo marched ashore, singing, led by their high chief. Then at his direction, they walked into the marshy waters of Dunbar Creek, committing mass suicide. Roswell King, a white overseer on the nearby Pierce Butler plantation, wrote the first account of the incident. He and another man identified only as Captain Patterson recovered many of the drowned bodies. Apparently only a subset of the 75 Igbo rebels drowned. Thirteen bodies were recovered, but others remained missing, and some may have survived the suicide episode, making the actual numbers of deaths uncertain.

Regardless of the numbers, the deaths signaled a powerful story of resistance as these captives overwhelmed their captors in a strange land, and many took their own lives rather than remain enslaved in the New World. The Igbo Landing gradually took on enormous symbolic importance in local African American folklore. The mutiny and subsequent suicide by the Igbo people was called by many locals the first freedom march in the history of the United States. Local people claimed that the Landing and surrounding marshes in Dunbar Creek where the Igbo people committed suicide in 1803 were haunted by the souls of the dead Igbo slaves. The story of Igbo, who chose death over slavery which had long been part of Gullah folklore, was finally recorded from various oral sources in the 1930s by members of the Federal Writers Project.

While many historians for centuries have cast doubt on the Igbo Landing mass suicide, suggesting that the entire incident was more legend than fact, the accounts Roswell King and others provided at the time were verified by post-1980 research which used modern scientific techniques to reconstruct the episode and confirm the factual basis of the longstanding oral accounts.

In September 2002, the St. Simons African American community organized a two-day commemoration with events related to Igbo history and a procession to the site of the mass suicide. Seventy-five attendees came from different states across the United States, as well Nigeria, Brazil, and Haiti. The attendees designated the site as a holy ground and called for the souls to be permanently at rest. The Igbo Landing is now part of the curriculum for coastal Georgia in the United States , while here in Nigeria it is completely missing from the Nigerian educational historical curriculum, and never taught in any Nigerian schools, for reasons best known to those who run the system in Nigeria.

Go to the South-East today. Since the 70s and the oil boom. Nigeria has invested in commercial industries across the country. None has been sited in the South east. None. Refineries, Steel Plants, Cement Firms. Any Industry. The South East was systematically de-industrialized. Even when it was the best location for any industry, there was always a reason why it should not be sited there. What this means was that any Igbo man that wanted to work in a commercial federal establishment had to leave the east. Add this to the indigenization policy of the early 70s that pushed the Igbos out of private companies. It meant that international companies also avoided expansion into the south east. The Nigerian Breweries, the Dunlop and other such firms sited their plants outside the East and only set up distribution centers to sell in the region. This is one of the main reasons the exodus of Igbos from the zone accelerated after the war and continues to this day despite the hostility they face in certain parts of Nigeria. And why most became traders and commercial business men. Because access to organized work either in the government, government commercial institutions and even commercial institutions were limited.

The only industrial enterprise in the east are built by easterners; Nnewi, Aba, Onitsha. These are Igbo indigenous industrial cities.

This has been the practice since the end of the war.
In addition to this, the Federal Government has systematically made it difficult for Easterners to do commercial business even in the East. The Federal Roads in the East are some of the worst in Nigeria. The Eastern Sea ports have been made ineffective. It was a war to get the Enugu Airport upgraded to an International Airport. The former Finance Minister shed tears on the day the first International Flight landed in Enugu. Yes, Okonjo Iwealla cried! Recently, it was only the South East that was conspicuously missing in the New Railway Plan of the Federal Government. Nigeria has 6 regions. And one was missing in a national railway plan. Here's the thing all the so called personal encounters are never full on physical encounters. It's either a dream, an impression or a "vision" (more likely a sort of dream as well).

Why is an omnipotent God incapable of having full on physical contact with the people he supposedly loves? Why is everything left to be subjected to the highly distorting realm of dreams and impressions? I would never trust any person who comes and tells me he learnt how to fly a plane from a dream so why should I trust people who say they encountered the creator of the universe in a dream? And he gave them instructions for all of humanity in that dream? Really?

go and read the Bible and Quran, you will find out that dreams is also one og the medium through which GOD speaks with his people. God is a spiritual being and humans are also spiritual beings. That was why when God wanted to create women, he made Adam to fall asleep , before have the personal encounter, of removing his ribs to create the first woman on earth.

Only a fool won't realize that our democracy and peaceful coexistence is at stake when the will of the people in choosing who leads them is denied.
