Nairaland / General / Re: Before You Return Lost Money Make Sure You Negotiate Your Cut Before Returning by nearline(m): 4:39pm On Jan 23
I have to say I agree with sukkot. An average Nigerian/human will just believe you are a random godsend and will not reward you at all. And on the other hand someone else may find the money and take everything for themselves which is a loss for the owner of the money. One advice I will give to whoever finds lost money like that is to make sure that their conversation with the owner of the money is recorded in case the owner of the money wants to twist the story and involve the police in an attempt to incriminate the good samaritan and keep all the money (granted it it theirs anyway). It is good to be modest but if you are too modest na your wahala.

Culture / Re: RIP African Monarchy by nearline(m): 10:19am On Jan 21
Unfortunately our politicians’ greed will not allow us to restore things back to the way it was. There are just too many things happening and they have gone too deep. Na just to dey look remain for the ones who see the wrong because attempting to return things to the way it used to be might just get you killed even by your kinsman all because of the money the current system is getting them. Nigeria has lost its glory, so has other African nations. In the end I attribute all these failures to men (our fathers and forefathers) who chose to bow to these whites for whatever reason and the ones who chose to be sellouts.
Travel / Re: Lagos Council To Roll Out 200 Electric Mini Cabs In March by nearline(m): 3:50pm On Jan 20
Rybnyk:

Electric cabs when residents still struggle with power supply. Clowns. We still manage to generate 5000MW and some people are talking about EVs. This one na another format to chop money. . Why not deal with the issue of generation and then we can talk about EVs. EVs are not for us now. Let's tackle the issue now hight cost of pms and availability, let's increase our generating capacity. We can't be generating 5000MW and be talking about EVs. Doesn't make sense...
You are wise. Even in American the widespread adoption of EVs is overwhelming their already robust power grid. These cars, a single one, take tens of kilowatts on average to charge if you want to charge a single car overnight and even more to charge up within short hours. That amount of power is much higher that what an average home uses at any point in time even if you turn on the AC, blender and pressing iron at the same time. This is another trick to illegally put some millions in to the pockets of very few people.

Politics / Re: Seven Major Marketers Get Approval To Sell Dangote Fuel by nearline(m): 11:04am On Jan 15
One thing I know that most people might not know is that when it comes to refining crude oil, apart from fuels, there are plenty other by-products like bitumen and chemicals that can be used to make plastic and medicine and a whole lot of other things that we use everyday in homes and industries that dangote will still be making tons of money from. Fuel might be the major source of their profit but the other by-products will also fetch the refinery millions in profit so they should try and just make these petrol more affordable for us when they finally start making/selling that one to marketers.
Also given the chance all these said by-products will further allow us to industrialize nigeria faster than ever before since we will not need to be importing a lot of the chemicals we import today.

HORLADY:
It might send a wrong signal to other professionals working in the State Civil Service Commission..
Even if the car is structured as a loan, what of the Nurses, Laboratory Scientists not to even mention professionals in other Sectors.
Other professionals might feel marginalized and will definitely impact their commitment to duty.
You don't need to pamper some at the expense of others as that is what led to different uprising/insurgency all over Nigeria.
He should have make it all inclusive and limit it to professionals at a specified cadre across board.
For those people who you say will feel marginalized their time will come someway somehow. Everything na step by step. Their own fit be better pay and stuff like that. Na small small. Besides there is no point in them getting jealous at least for the ones among them who already have an ok level if income.

Why USA?
Many reasons.
➡️They are too loud — the “America is the greatest country on earth” bullcrap e.t.c.
➡️Their government stick their noses in matters of other countries that should not be of concern to them.
➡️They love destabilizing other nations politically and economically for economic reasons that benefit them (similar to above point).
➡️They are very greedy.
➡️LGBTQIA+ bulls**t. There are very few men there that I believe can still be called men.
➡️They are mostly soulless humans just trying to make money.
➡️Hollywood movies are terrible nowadays.

There are more but thats just the few i can mention

Webmasters / Re: Please Anyone With VPS Experience Here? I Need Help by nearline(m): 3:30pm On Dec 15, 2023
Anyone using VPS hosting should be familiar with some advance level stuff that are too many for me to mention. Basically you need to understand a bit of advanced system administration. My advice for you is to not try anything you have not learned well or experimented with in production without prior experience. If you cant do it then you cant do it.
BTW if you need help setting up a linux server with or without the need for any type of control panel send me a DM.
Programming / Re: Useless Youtube Channels Every Beginner Front End Developer Should Avoid by nearline(m): 3:19pm On Dec 15, 2023
🚨NB:Don’t take the following opinion too seriously. Use whatever works for you.

All these indomie generation developers sef. When I was learning programming I learned by reading documentations not watching youtube videos. I still read a crap tonne of documentation even till date. I only watch videos once in a blue moon and mostly when the stuff I'm learning is not really about coding itself even though it might be related.
JavaScript? MDN, Professional JavaScript for Web Developers (3rd edition) and other ebooks e.t.c.
Python? The official Python documentation.
MySQL? The official MySQL documentation.
CSS? MDN and a lot of ebooks and online text based resources.
And et cetera….
I just like to read. Works for me. Also written materials tend to be well planned and reviewed before they are published. That means quality content.

can I get experience or get to expert level if I don't have a good team to work with or if I don't get have a job at this beginners level?
Yes. All you need to do is try to develop clones of existing projects. You can try building a blog from scratch for example or an online store etc
Programming / Re: Is Frontend Development Truly Saturated? by nearline(m): 4:45pm On Dec 14, 2023
Forget about TypeScript for now. Learn HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in that order and after you have learned them well you can learn Bootstrap and then ReactJS in that order. As for learning JavaScript learn DOM manipulation and XHR/Fetch API first in that order. The rest will come easy.

Yes and no. From my own experience there appears to be more frontend developers than there are backend developers. But the major problem with frontend development is the availability of the many frontend frameworks and CSS libraries which has caused fragmentation in the frontend ecosystem and actually confuse a lot of newbie developers like you. My advice for you is to pick a frontend framework (ReactJS for example) and a CSS library (Bootstrap for example) and stick to the combo for now until you are well versed in it before adding another combo. Also don't forget to learn the language before learning the framework or library. This means learn vanilla HTML, CSS and JavaScript very well before attempting to learn any library or framework.
