Politics / Re: There Is Light At The End Of The Tunnel, And Nigeria Will Smile Again – Tinubu by nearline(m): 8:32am On Mar 22 |
Will we? Really? Has anyone noticed that Tinubu’s government is already dancing too much to the tune of the westerners? Removing fuel subsidy as advised by the IMF, getting ready to increasing value added tax to 15% as recommended by the EU plus what exactly did the Tinubu go and do in France in his second private visit to the country? We have our problems in this country but we are not seeing how much the white man is contributing to the situation which is at least 50%. |
Politics / Re: How Nigeria, Its People, and Its Govt Got It All Wrong (29/5/24) by nearline(m): 5:54pm On Mar 21 |
In all of these what I have observed or should I say what has become obvious to me is that even if the youth take over some aspects of our country’s politics one way or another they too will become corrupt because once they see the money they have access to they will not want to let it go. They will want to live large and that will make them to immediately abandon the cause they are fighting for. It takes someone with serious self discipline to enter politics and not become corrupt like most politicians are. Another problem that I have noticed over the years is that though there are some good, self disciplined politicians in nigeria but they are trying to play it safe. They don’t want to get themself or people close to them hurt while trying to fight for what is right. This is where their mistake lie. There is no battle/war without bloodshed. There is no victory without sacrifice. And you have to be more ruthless and smarter than your enemies if you want to even begin to stand a chance against them. The good politicians can and will only begin to win if they accept that “no sacrifice no victory.” To add a little bit of context to what I wrote up there. For a long time in my life I have lived by the motto “no sacrifice no victory.” It’s my thing so I’m not just talking like a wise just to feel wise. I don’t look like it at all but I’m the type that is prepared for any expected or unexpected events in life. Life is savage and unforgiving and you have to be tough and smart to have a chance at surviving anything it throws at you. But unfortunately today we have become too comfortable to fight. There are just too many enjoyments in this life to miss out on and this has caused most to become cowards. |

Politics / Re: Nigerians Abroad Do Jobs They Refused At Home – Remi Tinubu by nearline(m): 2:09pm On Mar 21 |
This woman is either dumb or wicked or both. Now I don’t know exactly how much these “JAPAtriates” get paid for these odd jobs they do abroad. But I’m pretty sure It would make more sense to be collecting a Dollar equivalent of at least two million Naira to be cleaning toilets every month over there abroad as compared to collecting 15,000 Naira here in Nigeria for the same job. |

advanceDNA: That’s how they are in the west. Everything must benefit them alone. Greedy bunch. If you dig deep enough you will realise that Big Pharma are one of the forces behind him getting jailed. And yes the fact is that no one really knows the domino effect that CRISPR can have so that is still being studied. It could be dangerous on the long run. Or it could be nothing or something so insignificant and negligible but that threatens the profit of Big Pharma. Big Pharma don’t want to cure anyone. They want to keep every medical condition in a manageable state so that the sick will continue to purchase from them. Greedy bunch. 1 Like 1 Share |
Health / Re: Scientists Say They Can Cut HIV Out Of Cells Using Crispr Gene-editing Technolog by nearline(m): 2:40pm On Mar 20 |
“Scientists say.” Good. But knowing how Big Pharma works this “cure” will never see the light of day. If it does it will be so expensive it will be made available only for the Elite. Plus CRISPR, while being very promising and apparently very effective, is still heavily controversial. These scientists should take it easy. Everyone seems to be chasing a Nobel prize nowadays. |
Politics / Re: Japa: UK Universities Battle Financial Shortage As Foreign Students From Nigeria by nearline(m): 5:49pm On Mar 19 |
Gerrard59: They can and should definitely do something about that bolded part. They caused it for themselves and they should fix it. I see no way how universities in developed countries like the UK will survive on low tuition rates without help from the government while having to, from time to time, invest millions and millions of pounds in infrastructure and laboratory/research tools and supplies. It just cannot work. They should use common sense. |
Politics / Re: Japa: UK Universities Battle Financial Shortage As Foreign Students From Nigeria by nearline(m): 5:26pm On Mar 19 |
Gerrard59: Gboyeee is absolutely right. Yes. This is the UK we are talking about but they too have loads of misplaced priorities like the military budget and aids money he mentioned. University aside, there is a wave of serious poverty in the UK in general right now and this has nothing to do with their universities. The fact is that not everything that brings in profit must be globalised or should I say not everything that brings in profit must depend majorly, or worse, solely on a globalised market to make money. Not especially education. Globalised commodity trade is understandable. They should be able to find a way to run their educational institutions without depending even slightly majorly on money made from foreign students. That should be “extra freebie” to them as far as I’m concerned. They may be whites over there in the UK but they are humans so totally not infallible. Sunak and co are doing terrible jobs right now. Their case is almost like Nigeria’s at the moment. The politicians are currently well fed while the masses are suffering some (including a lot of native white british people) are actually homeless and jobless. They can find a solution to their low university funding challenges without depending on foreign money if they want to. |

Webmasters / Re: Major Fibre Cut Takes Banks In Nigeria And South Africa Offline by nearline(m): 6:39pm On Mar 14 |
This is why it is good to have local alternatives to almost everything if not everything. We have like four or more data centre service providers here in nigeria some of which are Rack Centre, Africa Data Centres, MainOne and even MTN. If more of our internet services and websites/web applications are hosted in these data centres issues like this (caused by subsea fibre cuts) would be greatly minimised since the local (fibre and microwave) network would still be fine. In a case like this local bank transactions would work except for transactions involving multiple countries. And locally hosted websites would be mostly fully accessible depending on the complexity of the situation. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I’ll recommend you visit an Iyanifa (if you are female) or a babalawo (if you are male) and let them introduce you to Ifa. It is “funfun” by nature based on what you have requested. My advice is you take it one step at a time. Don’t rush the process. They will not force you to do anything you dont want and will explain everything better to you. I’m sure they will be happy to hear you say you want to practice the spirituality of your ancestors. I believe I’m on a similar path as you too. Take care. 2 Likes |

Minemrys:Good point. What you have said here is why I have stopped following hollywood news sources of any kind and watching movie trailers even. They release too much info. So much that you will have already spent all your excitement on the hype and unnecessary info they are releasing that by the time the movies get released they lose their value and become underwhelming to watch. |

I have watched so many youtube videos featuring that man. Most people are oblivious to the things you are trying to point out about these global elites’ meddling with our government. Granted, our politicians are also super corrupt which is worsening our situation but the truth is the west have always had their hands in the affairs of our government. I mean these same guys (either IMF or World Bank, don't really remember) forced Malawi to destroy their food reserves as the only condition for giving them a loan which lead to serious food crisis in the country at a time. We are too used to only knowing what we are shown on the news in this country. Not many people do their own research to really find out the story behind the story. We are just too laid back. I mean these guys, in this case, a company called The United Fruit Company (now Chiquita) destroyed the economy and toppled the government of a whole country all so they can plant bananas very cheaply with underpaid slave labour. 2 Likes 2 Shares

The truth is we ourselves dont really want to industrialise. You see industrialisation takes time, serious thinking and research, testing and development which takes time and effort. We would rather just sell these raw materials and quickly make our money and say we have arrived that engage in the industrialisation process. An average nigerian is only just interested in having the money not he hard work. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

To be honest the whole matter don tire me. You walk into a store and ask for the price of a loaf of bread and they tell you 300 naira. You check your pocket and realise you have only 250 with you, take a walk to a POS operator and withdraw 1000 and come back in five minutes time only to get told that the 300 naira loaf has now become 400 naira. And yeah I strongly believe in what you have written here. This depopulation agenda is something these global elites have had in mind for a long time. And they have been doing everything they can to depopulate africa especially. But as e be now e be like say na global elite agenda, and nigerian elite agenda and corruption and them greed dey sup side by side wey dey cause these clusterfvck of unbearable palava wey we dey now. I am frankly tired of analysing the situation. Make magic just happen make everything solve na him i dey hope for. To be honest im not hoping for anything sef as my mind don enter static mode. Na to just dey observe i dey do nowadays. 2 Likes 2 Shares |
