Politics / Atiku: A Man Of Peace by Nebutaman(m): 2:28pm On Feb 13, 2023
ATIKU CANCELS RIVERS RALLY- Word for Wike

The decision to cancel PDP Rivers State Presidential Rally by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar shows, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as a man of peace and harmony, considering the unmoderated, unguarded speeches of Governor Nyesom Wike and some violent activities that has led to injuries on the part of Atiku Supporters.

The decision is the best, since to all intent and purposes, agents of Rivers state are poised to ensure bloodbath, Atiku will be safe, but what about his supporters? Atiku loves peace, he loves developments and knowing too well that Power belongs to God, he has submitted everything to the will of Allah (SWT).

For Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, you have done your worst, I will refer you to my most cherished Biblical verse Romans 9:16 “So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy” The lord has shown you mercy beyond your expectations and your effort, you have underrated such mercies thinking your it’s by your effort, it is not.

You are wrong. I hope you will rethink and retrace your step to know that God has been merciful to you and this is not how to pay God back for his mercies. Think! Wike think!!

Governor Nyesom Wike, you might choose to take that Biblical verse along with the following verse from the Holy Quran, “Which is it, of the Favours of your Lord, that ye deny?” Surah ar-Rahman, the 55th Surah of the Quran. It is one of the most notable verses of the Quran.

From an obscure local Politician, unknown and undefined, to a council Chairman, Governor’s Chief of Staff, Federal Minister and State Governor and to Crown it, Presidential Aspirant of a Major Political party and came second. A wise man would have thanked God, get back to the drawing table, prepare better and focus on the future, but Not Wike! You choose to emasculate the political space because God did not approve your prayer to be PDP’s Presidential Candidate for 2023. Sorry!

Anyway, I wish you all the best. Remember May 29th, 2023. All shall be history. Goodluck!

@Sai Baba,
From the PDP Campaign trail.

There is no difference between you and the ignorant Christians you reference. None of you know how God operates. For your information, the SUPREME DEITY has little or no involvement with embodiments. IT is only interested in Soul which cannot die. The Lords of Karma see to it that we are accountable for every thought, word and action we think, say and take. If we are foolish to cause a stamped, we shall be made to face the consequences. That is the only way we learn in the lower universes of God. God is not like some parents that take their children to miracle centers to write WAEC because they don't want to see them fail. God does not operate like that. God allows you to learn your lesson and earn your way up the wisdom ladder.

Nobody can tie Soul down. It's spiritually impossible. Soul is the most important particle of God's creation and the Divine will never allow anyone, being, entity or spirit to touch it. Remember Job's story in the Bible? Satan was forbidden from touching Soul because Soul is divine. Our other bodies can be attacked and harmed but not Soul, which is a Spark of God. We are atoms of the Holy Spirit, Soul and nothing can touch us unless we allow it.

Oftentimes we here people say "this life no balance" when things go awry in their lives, especially, when it comes to relationships. But, is it really true that this life is not balanced? What if you are the one that is making the wrong moves and expecting right results? You can't be wearing sun glasses in a dimly lit room and expect to see clearly.

Life is all about balance so when we are over balanced at any end, life adjusts itself and take us to the other end to gain balance. So to avoid unnecessary pains, we must learn to stand in the middle at all times.

Background Story of Minabelem Hilary. the mentally unstable man from Bakana.

I came to know Minabelem about two years ago. He often hung out at the Bakana Town Square. With his dirty hair and dirty clothes, one could hardly miss him.

On occasions when there were programmes in the Town Hall, organizers of the programmes would shoo him away with sticks and brooms even though he had no violent history. Never once did I see any family member come to his rescue or give him food or money. Everyone drove him away or avoided him.

One day we had a programme at the same place and as usual, he was around, probably hoping to get some crumbs and leftovers to eat. I sat close to him and I could hear him talk about dimensions and drawings. I never had an inkling of what he was talking about. Maths and technical drawings were never my strong points in school. However, I observed that as he spoke quietly and almost imperceptibly, his eyes lit up and a wide smile covered his face, showing his hidden beauty. Up to that moment, I never knew that Minabelem was a graduate of architecture. I never even imagined that he went through secondary school. He was the mad man around the town square; that was what I knew about him. I also knew that some folks fondly called him FIFTY CENT. According to one of my cousins, they gave him that name because of his love for Hip hop and rap music. And that was all the attention he got from his own people, the Bakana people.

And then like a chariot from heaven, his old classmates from Unijos came to Bakana looking for him. They had heard of his worsening condition and came to celebrate Valentine with him. They brought food, drinks, clothes, etc. But most of all, they brought love, selfless love, divine love. Propelled by this love, they hugged him, played with him and exchanged jokes with him. For once, he did not feel different. He saw himself in them just as they saw themselves in him. He remembered some names and welcomed them, laughing. They were his friends. Love broke all the barriers between them and without any form of resistance, he agreed to follow them to the psychiatric hospital.

His friends stayed with him until he was settled in a private ward they paid for then after taking pictures with him, they left.

They have done their bit. They paid N320,000 for his admission, drugs and upkeep. I don't know how long the money will last but they have done their bit and life will definitely reward them for that kind gesture. It's now left for his family, the government and men of goodwill to continue from where they stopped.

May God bless us all with true friends.

THE TRU VALENTINE

The Alumni of the University of Jos, Nigeria, drew tears from the eyes of many in Bakana, Rivers State as they left the comfort of their homes in Abuja to come celebrate Valentine with their former classmate, Mr. Minabelem Hilary, who became mentally unstable on the eve of his Master's degree defence.

The Alumni traced him across the river to Bakana and after spending time with him, took him to the Psychiatry Hospital in Rumuigbo, Port Harcourt, and paid the sum of N320, 000 (three hundred and twenty thousand naira) only for his treatment and admission to a private ward

The golden-hearted former classmates hugged him, bought him new clothes and laughed with him as they exchanged some old school jokes.

Reacting to the kind gesture, a doctor at the facility said Mr. Hillary had a good chance of complete recovery, especially if he took his drugs faithfully.

*NEPWHAN advises Nigerians to know their HIV status.**

As the world celebrates World AIDS Day, members of the Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria, NEPWHAN, Rivers State Chapter, have called on Nigerians to know their HIV status.

Speaking on Morning Spectrum, a live breakfast show on RSTV, Port Harcourt, the Public Relations Officer of NEPWHAN, Peace Elijah, said it was important that Nigerians go for periodic testing to know their HIV status as early detection was key to saving lives of positive persons.

Madam Elijah decried the continuous discrimination against people living with HIV in Nigeria while describing family and community stigmatization as some of the worst treatments HIV positive persons get in Nigeria.

The PRO said rejection by the family and church had led to the death of many people living with the virus in the country.

She therefore called on the authorities to put measures in place to stop all forms of discrimination and stigmatization in the country.

Her colleague in the studio, Boma Wakama, deputy coordinator of NEPWHAN in Rivers State, said self stigma was one of the worst forms of stigmatization in the world. He said many HIV positive persons had lost their lives because of it, adding that some of them because of refusal to accept their status and access care given freely by the government died prematurely.

Mr. Wakama advised Nigerians to take their health seriously and make it a duty to know their HIV status, reiterating the need for HIV negative persons to remain negative by all means possible while positive persons should take advantage of the free care offered by government.
Health / Prep Prevents HIV And AIDS Transmission by Nebutaman(m): 4:29am On Dec 01, 2021
https://www.hiv.gov/hiv-basics/hiv-prevention/using-hiv-medication-to-reduce-risk/pre-exposure-prophylaxis

What is PrEP?
PrEP, or pre-exposure prophylaxis, is an HIV prevention method in which people who don’t have HIV take HIV medicine to reduce their risk of getting HIV if they are exposed to the virus. PrEP can stop HIV from taking hold and spreading throughout your body. Currently, there are only two FDA-approved daily oral medications for PrEP.

PrEP is prescribed to HIV-negative adults and adolescents who are at high risk for getting HIV through sex or injection drug use.

Why Take PrEP?
PrEP is highly effective when taken as indicated.

The once-daily pill reduces the risk of getting HIV from sex by more than 90%. Among people who inject drugs, it reduces the risk by more than 70%.

Your risk of getting HIV from sex can be even lower if you combine PrEP with condoms and other prevention methods.

Is PrEP Right for You?
PrEP may benefit you if you are HIV-negative, you have had anal or vaginal sex in the past 6 months, and you:

have a sexual partner with HIV (especially if the partner has an unknown or detectable viral load),
have not consistently used a condom, or
have been diagnosed with an STD in the past 6 months.
PrEP is also recommended for people who inject drugs and have an injection partner with HIV, or who share needles, syringes, or other injection equipment.

It may be right for you if you’ve been prescribed PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) and you report continued risk behavior or have used multiple courses of PEP.

If you are a woman and have a partner with HIV and are considering getting pregnant, talk to your doctor about PrEP. PrEP may be an option to help protect you and your baby from getting HIV while you try to get pregnant, during pregnancy, or while breastfeeding.

What Drugs Are Approved for PrEP?
The following medications approved for daily use as PrEP. They are combinations of two anti-HIV drugs in a single pill:

Emtricitabine (F) 200 mg in combination with tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) 300 mg (F-TDF; brand name Truvada ®) is recommended for all adults and adolescents at risk for HIV through sex or injection drug use. A generic version of Truvada® is also available.
Emtricitabine (F) 200 mg in combination with tenofovir alafenamide (TAF) 25 mg (F-TAF; brand name Descovy ®) is recommended for adults and adolescents at risk for HIV through sex, excluding people at risk through vaginal sex. Descovy® has not yet been studied for HIV prevention for receptive vaginal sex.
Is PrEP Safe?
PrEP is safe. No significant health effects have been seen in people who are HIV-negative and have taken PrEP for up to 5 years.

Some people taking PrEP may have side effects, like nausea, but these side effects are usually not serious and go away over time. If you are taking PrEP, tell your health care provider if you have any side effect that bothers you or that does not go away.

And be aware: PrEP protects you against HIV but not against other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or other types of infections. Combining PrEP with condoms will reduce your risk of getting other STIs.

How Do You Get PrEP?
People who use PrEP must commit to taking it every day and seeing their health care provider every 3 months for follow-up.
If you think PrEP may be right for you, visit your doctor or health care provider. PrEP is only available by prescription. Any health care provider licensed to write prescriptions can prescribe PrEP; specialization in infectious diseases or HIV medicine is not required.

If you don’t have a doctor, you can use the HIV Services Locator to find a PrEP provider and other HIV services near you. You can visit many community health centers for a PrEP consultation. More than 190 health centers in the 57 jurisdictions prioritized in the Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative are providing PrEP services. Many health centers in other jurisdictions also provide PrEP services.

Because PrEP is for people who are HIV-negative, you’ll have to get an HIV test before starting PrEP and you may need to get other tests to make sure it’s safe for you to use PrEP.

If you take PrEP, you’ll need to see your healthcare provider every 3 months for repeat HIV tests, prescription refills, and follow-up.

PrEP and COVID-19
There are options for starting or continuing PrEP while COVID-19 precautions are in effect. Some clinics and health care providers offer self-testing kits so that you can safely take HIV tests at home as part of your ongoing PrEP care. Others offer telehealth appointments or 90-day prescriptions of PrEP medication to help you minimize your trips to the pharmacy. Talk to your clinic or health care provider’s office about how you can access PrEP.

World Aids Day: "End Inequality, End AIDS, End Pandemics."[/b]

By Dr. Uduak Daniel, NACA South-South Zonal Coordinator

Each year, on 1 December, the world commemorates World AIDS Day. People around the world unite to show support for people living with HIV and to remember those who have died from AIDS-related illnesses. Nigeria has adapted the global 2021 WAD theme, "End Inequality, End AIDS, End Pandemics” with a very apt emphasis on sustainable financing. The Nigerian 2021 WAD theme therefore is, "End Inequality, End AIDS through Sustainable Financing," that is why the NACA South-South Zonal Office (SSZO) covering Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo and Rivers states is holding this town hall meeting and press briefing to discuss the inequalities that still exist in the zone, how to address them and how sustainable financing of activities by governments can reduce new infections.

The NAIIS 2018 findings of 3.1% HIV prevalence in the South-South zone led to several activities including the strengthening of partnerships with key public and private sector actors as well as generating data for sustained programming. One of such was the NACA Directorate of Policy, Planning & Stakeholder Coordination’s (DPP&C) conduct of an assessment of the States Agencies for the Control of AIDS (SACAS') capacity to coordinate their states' HIV responses. Five domains - governance and leadership, planning budgeting and resource mobilization, M&E and information management systems, thematic technical capacity and information technology were considered. Findings indicate that we are far from Uhuru in the sub-national response.

Even with the South-South HIV remarkable results of having 433, 151 PLHIV, People Living with HIV, out 516,000 on treatment, there is still a challenge with the SACAs’ report on the non-health sector activities. The imperativeness of working with the PLHIV groups and other actors is evident. The need for the state governments to be more involved in ensuring HIV-competent indigenes is paramount. Ensuring that PLHIV, key populations and other vulnerable groups are enabled to access HIV services is a necessity. The elimination of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (eMTCT), procurement of HIV test kits, antiretroviral drugs and other commodities and consumables is a must. Four state governments need to waive user fees to enhance access to treatment. Structural interventions that address policy, legal and individual empowerment concerns will reduce vulnerability in unprecedented ways. More than ever, addressing each state's peculiarities pragmatically may see us inching closer to sustained responses.

Let us continue to raise awareness in the South-South states.
Let us continue to wear the red ribbon in support and solidarity with PLHIV.
Let the PLHIV continue to make their voice heard on issues important in their lives.
Let PLHIV groups and other partners and stakeholders in the SS AIDS response continue to advocate for effective mobilization of resources.
Let everyone participate in data and evidence generation on the current state of the epidemic in their localities.

End Inequality, End AIDS through Sustainable Financing may be 2021’s WAD theme but it is also the beginning of the realization of a more sustainable regional response. THANK YOU!

Nothing to fear, sis. That spot is known as the Crown Shakra or the door of Soul. It is the access of Soul, our true spiritual self, into the body. As infants, we still have the ability to go and come from the heavenly worlds because the Crown Shakra is open. But by the time we are six, the door is finally closed for most of us and we have completely forgotten about where we came from. Some mothers can attest to their babies telling them about previous lives and who they were before being born into the present life. That is because their spiritual eyes are open at that age. So nothing to worry, my sister. It's the way of God.

Dear friend, I am happy that you believe in God and I am sure you have prayed to God for help in the way you know how but still have the problem of sleeping. I don't know your religion however there is a non-directional prayer you can do that will help you. Simply sing HU in the night for 20 to 30 minutes at bedtime preferably in your usual sleeping position. HU is a holy and sacred for God. It is sung in a long drawn out manner with the outgoing breath like HUUUUUUUUUUUU. First take a deep breath and exhale gradually. Do that for about three times and then at the fourth try sing HU. Do it quietly and with reverence to God. HU has healed a lot of hearts and helped many find peace and divine love in their lives. For more information about HU, kindly visit www.eckankar.org or search for HU on YouTube.

Thank you and remain blessed.

The number one desire of Soul is to have freedom. If you feel your wife is crowding you it's probable that she likes being with you all the time. It could also be just a mental delusion. Whatever it is, discuss it with your wife and see how both of you can give each other more space and privacy while living together. For example, separate bedrooms, eating alone sometimes, etc, can help

People fear death because of misinformation from birth and lack of spiritual experience. Socrates said, "Man know thyself." Unless you truly know who you are you will forever fear death. Who are you, body, mind or Soul? What is the difference between Soul and spirit? Which part of you takes charge when you are asleep and still find yourself awake in another body, dream? What is the relationship between the dream state and the waking state? When the body expires on earth what happens to the dream body? Man know thyself

It's ok that you concentrated on the positives of the OBJ administration. Basically you mentioned three sectors, Telecommunication, Economy and Law Enforcement. Dora Akinyuli and Ribadu represent law enforcement. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala was the backbone of the economy and the BPE did the privatization of the telecom industry. Ngozi and BPE are still there and doing more. I'd like us to be fair and open. Here are some stats to help.

ROAD
1. •A total of 651km of roads was paved in bituminous layers in 2012.
2. •A total of 32 Highway projects were completed in 2012
3. The radical intervention by the Subsidy Reinvestment Programme SURE-P in the road sector in 2012 resulted in accelerated work on the rehabilitation of the following projects: Abuja-Abaji-Lokoja; Benin-Ore-Sagamu dual carriageway; Onitsha-Enugu-Port Harcourt dual carriageway; Kaduna-Maiduguri dual carriageway; East-West Road The Second Niger Bridge for which a sum of five billion naira has been set aside.

AGRIC
1. •The Jonathan administration cleansed the rot in the fertilizer distribution system. Under the previous system, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development procured and distributed fertilizers to farmers. The system undermined the private sector and only about 11 percent of the farmers received fertilizers. The rest were sold to friends and `political farmers’ whom exported them. President Jonathan’s intervention dismantled in 60m days, this corrupt system, which had existed for over 40 years and fertilizers are now sold directly to farmers and not to government.

2. Today, Nigeria has reached an unprecedented 60 per cent sufficiency in rice production, a feat, which the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) recently described as capable of raising world rice output to a record high in the next 12 next months.

3. Of course it's no news that under this administration, Nigeria became the highest producer and exporter of cassava in the world.

TRANSPORTATION

1. •The Jonathan administration inaugurated the Lagos-Kano train service, which had been moribund for almost a decade. This is a major feat considering the long years of decay in the rail transportation sector.

2. •The Eastern rail line from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri is being rehabilitated as well as the fixing of the Zaria/Kaura Namoda rail route

3. •The Abuja to Kaduna 187 kilometre rail line is about more than 30 per cent completed.

4.•the Ajaokuta-Warri Standard Gauge Rail line will be completed any time now. This will provide a less than four-hour journey between the Middlebelt and the South South.

5. •The Lagos-Ibadan new gauge rail line, which was also initiated last year is on course.

SURE-P PROJECTS

1. •In 2012 N9 billion was spent By the Subsidy Removal and Re-Investment Programme (SURE-P)on: 500 Primary Health Centres (PHC) across the 36 states and FCT of the Federation. Employment and deployment of skilled Health Workers- Midwives, Community Health Workers (CHEWs), and Village Health Workers (VHWs). Upgrading, Equipping and Supplying of Drugs to the 500 PHCs across the six geopolitical zones are being done. Selection of 125 General Hospitals across the 36 states and the FCT. Equipping and upgrading their Maternity section to provide comprehensive intervention for complicated Maternal and Child cases from the PHCs is being done.

2. •4,604 jobs created for health workers in 2012.

ECONOMY

1. In 2007 when OBJ left, Nigeria was still listed among poor countries by World Bank, Euromonitor and the IMF. Under the GEJ administration Nigeria has moved from that demeaning position to a more prestigious one of being a middle class country. Occupying the 37th position of the world's richest countries in terms of GDP coming ahead of Israel, Finland, Ireland Qatar and Kuwait among others according to the World Bank and CIA rating. The country's GDP now stands at $268,700

•The Jonathan administration’s handling of the economy led to JP Morgan Chase the reputable American investment and Securities Company to list Nigeria on its Government Bond Index-Emerging Markets (GBI-EM). It is the second African company after South Africa to be listed. This inclusion of Nigerian bonds could mean an `inflow of at least $1.5 million of inflow into Nigeria’s bond market’. The listing will also improve the profile of Nigeria’s debt market.

•The Jonathan administration has in less than two years put Nigeria on the path of economic recovery. In 2011 for instance the Nigerian economy following International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast, Nigeria was expected to witness 5.9 percent GDP growth but figures from the Federal Bureau of Statistics in Nigeria showed that by third quarter of 2011 the GDP growth stood at 7.3 percent.

ECONOMY
