Am sorry for derailing a little bit. I do understand that this time is for admission and am also working on that. At my ogas at the top in Germany, I quite understood that been able to communicate in German language is a plus to surviving in germany. My question is;what other digital skills are selling in germany? As for me,am a computer network engineer with CCNA and CCNP though trying my hands in coding. Can a network specialist have a way in germany?
Thank you for your time

We need you in Germany........IT is the real deal in Germany.

Hello everyone..Good evening.. My Nephew recently graduated(few months ago) and he intends to go for Msc in Germany..

Unfortunately,he had a carry over in a core couse in his final year(second semester)..However,his total cgpa from year 1-4 is already above 3.0 (the minimum requirement in germany)...He intends writing TOEFL early next year...

MY QUESTIONS ARE:
1.Can he still apply for masters even before writing the carry over course next year..??

2.Since his total cgpa is already above 3.0,is there any way of applying for transcript even as a spill over student.. ??

CC:neccki, eke40seven, etc

Thanks in anticipation...

Let him wait till next year. After he his ascertained that he passed his final carryover course. If possible self let him finish serving.

Please can you pm me. How can I transfer credit of courses... I have HND distinction

Yes, you can transfer some credits ONLY if you can provide all the Course Catalogue/Course Handbook which contains all the Description

of all the courses you did together with your Transcript.

So when you get to Germany you can go and see your Academic Supervisor or the Lecturer in Charge of your Course.

I hope this helps

Anhalt University of Applied Sciences Dessau (Bauhaus also known as DIA)
They both offer master in Architecture taught in English but a little tuition is involved (less than €1000 though) and admission is mostly during winter semester.

Check very well.

There is another one called Building Technology or Green Building or something like that. Germans usually use dynamic names so you will have

to search thoroughly. Am very sure they are available on daad.de

sir, does this mean a HND holder doesn't need a PGD before applying for Masters in Germany?

You can not apply for Master's with your HND.

And there is nothing like PG.D as far as Germany is Concerned. So your best shot is to apply for a BSc.

@neccki thanks for your reply, seen couple of schools to apply to and some with little or no tution does that mean I won't pay any school fee?

That is not Tuition Fee. It is called Semester Fee which is usually a contribution Tfare within your city, Student Union Governmt e.t.c.

So that's not a School fee

Hello good evening I just stumbled on this thread..I just finished from the university and I heard about the low tution fee in Germany I'll like to apply for my master's in economics. I also have bsc in economics. please what school will you advice me to apply to.. I and a friend wish to apply both economics I finished with a CGPA 3.4 while she finished with a CGPA of 3.6

Your being here is not a mistake. This is the right path but you have to go through https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programmes/en/ and check for the courses that interest you both.

You both are good to go with your GP's which is above 2.3 German grade grin So don't waste tym or delay. Start your Application right away.

All my ogas, Jigba, honourableseyi, justwise, Eke40seven I greet una... Please I have a question to ask or just words of encouragement, this journey of going to Germany for my masters program started since 2015, then my school in nigeria submited my transcript late to uni-assist, I wrote to uni-assist that they should keep my documents till 2016 wintersession. In 2016 I paid for the evaluation, my result came out, i had a low cgpa, after the evaluation i got a German grade is 2.75, I didn't pass the minimum of 2.5 needed for TH Köln - Master - Automation and IT, so this made me to give up since I'm still working and making a living but mehn the future prospect in nigeria and raising a family is hard. Now I'm back trying to get other options for 2018, so asking my ogas, if a German grade point of 2.75 with impressive work experience and motivational letter I can stand a chance of getting admission to a university in Germany?

Yes, you stand a chance but it's very Slim

The current school I want to apply to, I don't need to pass through uni-assist will this increase my chances?
No, It doesn't matter.

or is the anything like taking some prerequist courses in Germany or PGD?
No, there is nothing like that.
Abita:

I've read oga Eke40seven post were he said that anything less than a Nigerian cgpa of 3.0 you may not get admission how true is this?
Very true.

Also can I just come to germany and do some certification courses? can i stay back and hustle for a job, can one just move to germany and get employment as an engineer?

My Advice to you:
1. Start from the begining again. Yes!.....I mean a Humble Beginning which means applying for another BSc. (This is your Best Shot) As most of the people I know used this strategy and now, it's a success story.
2. Re-Apply again with your 2.75 to some other schools but you really have to garnish your CV and Motivational Letter/SOP with the massive experience you have amassed from your professional work.

So apply for both BSc and MSc. I am very sure you will be happy to make it into Germany at the later end.

Its a pure lie , I flew with Turkish Airline on the 24 of September to Hamburg with one way ticket and no issues at all,, go ahead friend , there is nothing to fear about.. safe journey and welcome to Deutchland ..

@Negro1986
It's not a lie please. Just because you were not affected or stopped by those aimless people does not mean it's not true. Similar issues happened

to 2 people that I know this same week.

So to those of you, who wish to fly Turkish Airline please make sure you go to their stand/Office at the Airport about 1 - 2 hours earlier before boarding and ask them if there would be any issue with buying a One way Ticket or profer a possible solution to avoid been harassed.

Hello House,

I received 3 admissions for MSC program for the winter semester 2017 but lost the 3 due to German embassy here in NG not booking student visa interview date( totally booked out) and I pleaded to these school for deferment of admission into the summer semester 2018. 2 refused and one deferred and has issued another admission letter for the summer semester 2018 to me, I further contacted the German embassy yet again on Monday with the new letter of admission, block account and front page of my IP. Till now, am yet to get a response from them and kinda scared whether I have contacted them too early. Please, one should advice. What do I do?

Sam sam cheesy

You applied too early.

Till next month ending or Early November before they can start accepting Summer Visa Applications.

So let your mind be at rest.

Which course did you want to study? You should have up to 2 - 3 Courses in mind, so that if at all one of your courses is not available the other

ones will.

Also check daad.de very well. Yuo should get whatever courses you are looking for.

I am so sorry if I end up posting this as a reply or a quote...

I've been following this thread right from part2 since May 2016, and i must say i have really got all my questions answered just from reading every single page. This is my first post.

I got my admission for winter2016 SEMESTER at RWTH University Aachen last year. I was so excited, went for my visa appointment 5th July 2016, the visa interview went well.
Unfortunately when i was ready to fund my blocked account forex started going up, the more I struggled to fine money the higher it got. After exploring all other options to fund I ended up withdrawing my visa application to avoid any negative report on my file.

It was heart breaking to see all the hard work, time I invested during the application and visa process fade before my eyes. But I had to pick myself up and start preparing for winter2017.

TESTIMONY

Got admitted(Same school /course) = 13th June 2017
Appointment date = 24th August 2017
Funding = funded before my interview
Am mail = 21th September 2017

I will like to appreciate everyone that has ever answered questions, you are helping more people than you can ever imagine. And for those that couldt get vosa appointment for winter2017, don't give up!!!

grin Great News.

Go and Succeed.

*Master in Management Visa Interview Transcript 18.09.2017*

Arrived the embassy by 5.00am. The first person on the queue and the first person to be interviewed for long term visa.

Mr. Paulinus arrived around 7.20am. After giving instructions on how to arrange our documents, I entered the visa section around 8.00am.

Was interviewed by a lady at CT1.

Me: Good morning ma'am
VO: Good morning

VO: Your passport and appointment letter. (I obliged)

VO: Your docs, original then photocopies. (I obliged)

VO: Wow, scholarship! Congratulations!
NOTE: I have Deutschlandstipendium worth 300€ per month.

Me: Thank you.

VO: Your visa fee. (27,000)

VO: Did biometric registration.

She gave me questions and papers to answer. She then printed my details and said I should check and sign when am through with the questions.

*QUESTIONS:*
-What & where do you want to study in Germany?
-Why do you want to study this course?
-Why Germany?
-Why not study the course in Nigeria?
-Why not USA/UK or other English Speaking Countries?
-What is your course structure? List all the courses
-How have you prepared for your studies?
-Where will you stay?
-Who is your sponsor? What he/she does & income
-What will you do after studies? Stay in Germany?  Come back to Nigeria?
-Do you have friends/relatives in Germany?
-What is the title of your bachelor's thesis?

She typed all my answers.
NOTE: I gave detailed explanations to all the answers.

VO: Oh! What's this? I can't see the writing. (I spelled for her.)

VO: I would have to keep your passport for stamping since you will be in München before October 1st. Wait, let me confirm from my colleague. (She came back with the black slim tall lady. They discussed in German. After some minutes, she returned my passport)

She asked me to pick up the phone. Now oral interview:
VO: I wanted to keep your passport before but we have to confirm your scholarship from Germany and my boss have to be around. We will get back to you before 10 days.
Me: Okay. Thank you ma'am.

VO: I can see from your answers that you've made effort to learn German via Duolingo. For how long?
Me: One month and some weeks.

VO: Did you apply for the programme yourself?
Me: Yes ma'am

VO: What do you know about GERMANY? (I explained everything, location, population, president and party, Chancellor and party, countries bordering Germany with names, 16 federal states with names)
VO: I can see you know everything.
Me: Thank you ma'am

VO: What do you know about Munich? (I explained everything, from population, state, size, mayor and party, how the name München was derived, Oktoberfest, companies in München, ranking in world most livable cities, FC Bayern München and Allianz Arena)
When I mentioned Oktoberfest, she said, "and it just started." When I mentioned FC Bayern München and the year Allianz Arena was built, she was smiling "Ahhhhhhh, you know everything."

VO: Have you traveled to Germany or any European country before? Me: No ma'am, I don't have any reason to travel.

VO: I can see your family lives in Austria, are you not in contact with them?
Me: I am but I have no reason to travel. Now, I have the reason to travel.

VO: That's alright; you will be contacted by email before 10days to send your passport via courier. Have a nice day.

Me: Ihre danke Ihnen.
