Hello Good People.

I need a well-grounded international student, particularly, a well experienced German resident who knows about the nature of the country's economical space candid advise, to kindly let me out of my confused state and shed light on some confronting issues that seems gloomy to me so I can set my priority right just to aid my decision making process. Here goes,

I'm a single guy of 32yrs old, a graduate of Unilag since 2013, I'm currently out of job, but I feed from hand to mouth based on the skills I acquired which literarily is my basic means of survival since I opted out of my banking job in 2014. In the process, I lost my mum to a terminal disease during this period due to health issues late last year. I've been in business before but it collapsed due to change in government policies and I lost a whooping sum of over N2.1ml...now, a very rare fortune is about to smile at me yet again and I do not wish to experience another form of such dilemma never again as I fear the present day Nigerian society with so many economic and social vices bedevilling her at the moment, hence...i had to consider the probability of reinvesting amongst these woes and also looking back, I dont want to experience such a downfall again....it's been so tough all along(chai! man pikin don suffer).

I stumbled on this thread and the Canadian thread some months ago, but my spirit lies herein...coupled with the fact that the Canadian student visa issuance is a thug of war and the probability of getting one is going to be slim based on my own status, since then...I've been a silent observer and an ardent follower of this thread while I was trying to research on a legal escape route out of this country to go hustle elsewhere in a more saner clime to make me become a better version of myself before somebody runs psycho, having gone thru this thread, I must say that I'm "wowed and amazed" by what I've read so far, down to the success stories of quite a number of people that have made it through and I sincerely wish to become part of such a success too if all my fears and confusion could be properly addressed to a reasonable level of desirable content, so based on this I intend to further obtain a Master's degree in my field of study with serious determination in order to push my life forward from my present condition. Now to the issue;

Neccki, Jigba, Honourableseyi, eke40seven, Mr big man.
Thanks.

1. My discipline bothers on management course "Business Administration" to be precise, considering the west is so inclined with science and technology, what relevance does my course of study possess in landing me a good and satisfying job o'er there after school.

Thank God you know that the West is so inclined with Science & Tech. So you too should tie your Discipline to Science & Tech. You can

search for courses like Business Informatics, Management & Engineering, Business Process Management or Business Analytics. All these

courses have Tech tied to them.

2. I'm seriously bothered about my age, to even think of applying for winter next year or summer the following year due to financial constraints for now, but would be assuredly ready by late next year.
What do you think my fate would be after graduation in landing a good job and not just anyhow job bearing in mind I'd be 35-36yrs on completion ?
For you to get a good job after studies, you have to get Good Grades. Have some Technical skills set, and Speak

Fluent German
.

As for your Age enn, there are a lot of people older than you are in this forum. Germans don't care about your age and age is not a barrier

so far you have what it takes.

3. What career paths are available for a Master's degree holder in management course other than a science and techs graduates in that country, tho I have a skill as a professional painter(Interior and exterior buildings, Studio Sets etc).

I believe I have answered this under Q1.

4. In light of the above, if peradventure, there's a slim chance of making it through and landing a well paying job based on my status, what would you suggest I do to either improve myself or any thriving skills sellable over there that I can acquire before I move.

Serishocked usly?

Are you telling me you don't have a Career Plan by now?

Well, after your Masters, you would have been exposed to the Preferred Career path wanted in any Industry. So study first. biko

5. Lastly, which state would you suggest I settle in for affordability which would easily aid my progress while in school and after school.

Well for me, it's all about the job, living a comfortable life and helping my family back home, I'm sorry to have bored y'all with my long epistle, kindly take it laidat.

Check this one on google please.

BlessUp.

Good evening everyone!
I intend applying to the following schools for Masters:

1.University of Mannheim,
BUsiness Informatics

2.University of Munster,
Information System

After rigorous search on DAAD,my choice for these schools is mainly due to the fact that the above courses is in line with my Bsc programme and the the programmes are offered in English...

I HAVE 3 QUESTIONS TO ASK:

1.How good are the cities of Mannheim and Munster? Which is a bigger city? Which is ideal for getting decent student jobs?

2.Is there anyone on nairaland schooling in either of the above universities??How good is the school in terms of standards?

3.Since my intend study course is entirely offered in English,is there any need to write any exam on German to test my proficiency in the language? I've have been learning german on youtube though!

CC:Eke40seven, neccki, UncleJudax,etc .. Tnks in anticipation

Q1. How good are the cities of Mannheim and Munster? Which is a bigger city? Which is ideal for getting decent student jobs?

IStandToBeCorrected

Both are Ideal for getting Student jobs. (depending on you skills set too)

Mannheim is the third-largest in the German state of Baden-Württemberg after Stuttgart and Karlsruhe with close to 400k Population.

But bcus it is in Baden-Württemberg, you will have to pay 1500€ every semester, which I assume you won't want to pay.

While Munster is a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, in the west of Germany with about 300k Population.

And you are exempted from paying the 1500€.

Q2. Is there anyone on nairaland schooling in either of the above universities??How good is the school in terms of standards?

As for this, I don't know. Do the research yourself broda.

Q3. Since my intend study course is entirely offered in English,is there any need to write any exam on German to test my proficiency in

the language? I've have been learning german on youtube though!

Yes. There is need biko, If you need the better side of Germany(Hustling). BUT not compulsory since your studies are in English.

A plus for you, if you good in writing codes(Programming), be it Java, C# or Python & R for Data Analysis even MATLAB sef jawoo.

Admitted on 20th June.
Interviewed on 10th August.
AM dropped on 8th September.

All glory to God almighty.

I wanna start by advising all new comers to start reading from the beginning so you can get acquainted with all tricks and procedures involved. I started by reading some comments in part 2, I read all of part 3, then into part 4. I even read as I woke up for my interview that morning to be sure I learn anything new. The waiting period for my AM was not a good experience as I can not remember when last I fasted and prayed like that but its worth it.

Mr Bigman, Honourablesheyi et al really helped me and I so appreciate.

The slim young Frau shouted on me severally during my interview but now, behold my AM.

I am 100% ready to give back and I was greatly assisted here. PM me or write me via email at my signature, I will always assist as much as I can.

For those who just got Am, I used mansard insurance, its 22,696 or so for six months. Its about the best I can find.

God is great, I swear. lol

Congratulations.

Tanx for your reply. Sincerely I have gone through the link and have seen quite a couple of courses but I have a challenge in the application deadline time. Most of them seems to be on winter period even when I looking at January 2018.

Then apply for summer. Summer applications are now open in some universities. Summer usually opens around Sept/Oct. - Jan. And admissions

will be out by Feb/March.

Please, do u hv an idea of the cost of using the different courier services?

Please, kindly give us the charges involved, so we can decide on which to go for.

Thanks.

The last time I used TNT it cost me 7,000. But a friend who recently used it said it's now 12,000. I stand to be corrected tho. And DHL

cost about 18k. Both TNT & DHL will deliver ur letter withing 3 working days.

But Nipost will not cost you more than 2k. But please only use Nipost if you are in Lagos. Precisely MM2 NAHCO Office it will take them at most

2 weeks while other branches could take a month.

Halo everyone, i have been following the thread but couldn't make it to winter cos I joined late July. Please am ready with documents to apply for summer admission.. As most schools opened their portal yesterday. Please I need clarification and advice on the following

What is the best way to send documents across to Germany? (Fast and efficient) I will be sending to Five schools at once...

MyOwnOpinion: The best way to send your Document is Thru TNT Or DHL.
BUT
If you reside in Lagos; I will advice you to use NIPOST. Specifically, the one @MM2 Airport. Your Docs. will get to the school latest in 2 weeks

time. Mine took 9 days & 10 days respectively for the 2 documents i sent.

IF you are not in Lagos or you can't go to MM2, BEWARNED; It might take up to a Month for your docs to get to the school.

So send your docs very early if you want to use any other Nipost Office apart from the one @MM2 (NACHO).

Secondly, I see payment to uni-assit is quite stressful.. (TUM is the only school that require use of uni-assist in my choice of schools)...any suggestion on how to pay them faster?

Get someone to help you pay in Germany or in Europe.

Finnaly, pls can someone hint me on these cities...
Kaiserslautern, Bonn and Saarbruken..in terms of hutsle and student jobs...the schools from there have been communicating with me via email...even though my first choice is TUM....I sha want to keep an open mind.

Tank u all so much

KTown as it is called is a Big Town/City as you may called it. And there are student jobs, same as Bonn BUT am not sure of Saarbruken.

I am a French graduate and I Want to do an M.A in one of the germo skuls...Can some recommend some good universities for me for the summer session? I bliv there are foreign and modern language graduates here...Tanx and happy new month!!

Also what courses are you interested in? The truth is there are a lot of good schools in Germany.

Knowing which course you're passionate about is a good way to start. You may not find the M.A Programme in the SoCalled Good Schools. Then

you can now look for Good Locations(States/Cities) and how it will fit into your plans. Do you plan to Hustle, have fun/clubbing/site

seeing
Or you the Scholarly type.

If you are the scholarly type. Then you might not consider the location seriously since you want to It means you want to fully concentrate on

your studies with No Side Job distractions during your lecture Semester periods.

To check for courses that may interest you. Look thru https://www.daad.de/deutschland/studienangebote/international-programs/en/

So AM mail dropped today. Many many thanks to all the contributors on this thread.Like @ninered said, it's not that people don't want to contribute, the torture of waiting was something else. Besides, the interview questions were more or less same we've read on here.
Also conveying the wrong information to other folks based on one's personal experience wouldn't be appropriate. For example, I wasn't asked for the WAEC scratch card but my friend was asked to submit hers just last week.

For everyone that's still going through the process or has just begun, please read the pages diligently because there's so much to learn. Also, don't always take one person's comment as the only word. Try to gather as much information as you can and when you do go for your interview,go with all that is relevant. If they don't ask for it,you keep it.

Sorry for the epistle.

Interview on the 31st of July,
Funded on the 9th of August
AM mail 30th of August.
