I often visit Nigeria and no one offers even a small gift like a tuber of yam to take back but they know how to ask for help from time to time. A tuber of yam is nothing but the heart behind it matters.

I have stopped giving out money to people in Nigeria, no matter the reason.
Seems all the people you know in naija don't have shishi.

You must be from the east or obi supporter for you to tell them the truth.

But guess what, they know the truth already but the kind of poverty mentality and tribalism their government have bestowed upon them is too great for their eyes to be open.

Only on Nigeria will a citizen give you reasons and defend the reasons why their government subjects them to hardship, and still vote the same government in another election.
Bro you said it all.
See naija is the only country in the world that policies of government, the corruption and greed of their leaders will immerse them in so much poverty yet they will see reasons to agree with those leaders while they live under poor standards while the politicians live in luxury.

Yet the car dealers keep reaping people off their hard earned money in this difficult time

They should mandate the car dealers to reflect it in their car ssles
And how do you suggest that should be done in a free market economy?

Oga take the money and use it to order a recent model car from china, 20m will get you Eg a 2020 camry infact you will get a 2024 corolla for less than that amount.
Infact if you don't wanna order yourself from China, some Chinese are currently bringing in and selling retail and wholesale.

https://share.google/ETzzCfYBaKVkMsuNE

Call them and ask for their price list.
Only mumu will carry money to go and buy American used car with high milage, probably accidented and fixed poorly.

Lol, one issue people are not talking a out is where the akara and kulikuli seller will sell it. Eg Lagos, is it where commissioner of environment is crying daily about street trading and legitimately too? Where Kai raids daily to stop the menace? Look at SA where foreigners turned beautiful cities into ghettos by trading all over the side walks. What about the safety issues, remember few years ago when oshiomole was governor of Edo state and his "go to hell" scandal with a street trader selling corn abi frying akara.
Few days ago, sanwo olu gave notice to traders selling along the newly constructed badagry axis road that they will clear all the curb trading on that route this week, is madam 50k empowerment encouraging breaking the law?

Politics › Re: Remi Tinubu’s Akara & Kulikuli Advice Not For Yahoo Boys, Obidients – Ayekoto by nedekid: 6:59pm On Jun 27
SixSeven:
I am surprised people are overlooking something she said in that interview.

"So we've encouraged Nigerians as best as we could. What is within our hands, I have given, and I keep giving.

"I remember giving for TB. When I heard there were so many TB cases, I gave N2 billion. To breast cancer, I gave a billion. For food malnutrition, I gave half a billion."

I, we. They want to turn us to a charity case. What a shame. Before her husband's inauguration in May 2023, Remi Tinubu stated that her family did not require Nigeria's wealth to survive, emphasizing that they are already blessed. She pledged to use her position to guide the nation onto the correct path and promised that they would do the right thing with the country's resources.

For a former Senator not to know that there are specific institutions to do what she is talking about, I now forgive Aisha Buhari who channeled her frustration to the right quarters. Madam, there are budget allocations for these things. It means you are not on top of your game if you have to fund the country with your charity when there is a government. Shame again.
They kolobi the whole money, impoverish the whole country then share peanuts to hungry people as charity. Omo we are seeing a monarchy in the making. You can see their thought process, same as the husband dismissively said people should join the army where they will clean guns, shoot, what they will eat is cassava, corn, ewa etc, Inshort that is what Nigerians need to survive, we are now animals that all they do it eat the basics, work and sleep. Hear the wife also talking of the same corn, kulikuli, akara etc. You heard what the son said some time back, that they keep comming after his father and family, the best president ever, despite all what his family has done for Nigerians. Can you see these people are not living in reality? The worst thing that can happen to a country is to have a king, president or prime minister not in touch with reality.
Crime › Re: GTBank Customer Cries Out After Being Told His 3 ATM Cards Are Compromised by nedekid: 7:15am On Jun 27
phr0nesis:
I had similar issue when I got debit twice. I lost ₦60k plus, and when I contacted their customer care, I got the same response.
What I don't understand is that whenever I input my card details to make an online payment, an OTP code is always required, but a thief with my card details just withdraws my money without me receiving any code. How?
Oga, there are different payment routes that do not require otp especially with foreign merchants. I have written her before of 2014 period I had to buy some parts from abroad, they sent an invoice, I then called them to ask how to make payment, the guy asked for my card number and expiry date, I barely finished calling when I got debit alert, howhuh? No otp etc.
Another mistake people make is to see something on Facebook and make payment, walai 99% of the na scam, most don't even go through Google play, you are giving the merchant your info directly. They can debit you weekly, daily or monthly. Eg, my elderly mother complained to be that her money was alway shorting in her account, infact she had gone to bank to complain, no solution, I checked her debit alert, she had about 4 items making regular debits, In facts one debited as I was with her phone, 60k (naira equivalent of dollar) every 3 days, the others were weekly, between 10k- 20k and this had gone on for months!
From my investigations I found out it was from FB, all those apps that will show you soap opera, short clip that will draw your attention, then you will want to see the rest and then she will put her card number, they will say it is a one time charge with small money, for where it is just to get access to your account. I then started deleting those apps from her phone one by one, I went to playstore to stop the payments, guess what? The apps were not on the payment schedule not to talk of being able to cancel.
I had to call her bank, what we arrived at as the only solution was to destroy the card, declare it stolen and blocked in the bank, then apply for new card, that was what stopped the payments. In those few months she lost plenty plenty money.

More inflation from clueless charlatans. Instead of ensuring the currency appreciates, all other oil producers have used the windfall from the recent wars and high oil prices to stabilize their currencies, ours is all stories.
In another year as they cause more inflation, they will have to increase salaries again.
