fashrola: Well prospective batch "B" corper willing to serve in Akwa Ibom state, I want to brief you a little about the place, Though I'm from Akwa Ibom and I school @ Maritime Academy of Nigeria, Oron, I've also been mobilized for the NYSC programme too, Akwa Ibom state (Uyo as a case) Uyo is a very nice place to be, especially the new infrastructure put to place by the State Governor which includes: Good and beautiful roads, Cinema, At least manageable power supply, good road network system (no hold-up), Cheap accommodation and Transportation, Uyo is a very peaceful place and it is not as big as Lagos, therefore it is a really organized-city, Where the problem lies is which LGA you will be posted to in Akwa Ibom state, well I'll tell you the best LGA to serve with most good social amenities includes: Uyo, Eket (oil-rich town), Ikot Ekpene, Abak, Oron, Ibiono, Itu...though other LGA are good but I'm just telling you the best LGA in Akwa Ibom state and their proximity to the state Capital. Don't mind my grammer sha, I'm typing with a phone...

pro01: Who is a 'caring' man? Well, here's a little true-life story. Back then in University, there was this super pretty friend of my female neighbour that used to come around every now and then. At some point she had Malaria fever or something and was indisposed for a few days and had to stay in my neighbour's (off-campus) room to recuperate, since it was more conducive than her crowded hostel room. During that period, her boyfriend's show of care and concern was exemplary. He visited daily, hardly left her side, administered her drugs, and generally made sure she was fine.

However, at that same time, I also had a friend that was quite rich and just brought a flashy car to school then. Somehow he had been eyeing the girl, and when he came aound the house one evening, I told him that the babe was in my neighbour's room and that she was sick and all. Sensing a golden opportunity, my rich friend asked us to visit the room (in the guise of checking on my neighbour). When we got there, we met them eating 'concoction' rice without meat, drowned with satchets of 'pure water' - in typical student fashion. My guy expressed alarm that an ill person wouldn't recover quickly enough on such diet, and he 'magnanimously' offerred to get her something better. He then asked her friend (i.e. my neighbour) to accompany me and him to a fast food joint, where we bought all kinds of mouth-watering stuff, then branched off to a big department store were we bought assorted groceries and whatnot - totalling almost N7k (as of 2003 oh). When we returned home, the girl was shocked beyond words to see all that my guy 'innocently' bought out of sheer 'concern' for her well being. You need to see how she sprang out of the bed to hug him. Not done, my guy squeezed about N4k into her friend's (i.e my neigbour) hand and asked her to buy any other drugs or whatever else she might need to recover faster. . . .

I learned wonderful lessons afterwards. Do you know that this girl was bad-mouthing her boyfriend as an 'uncaring' and good for nothing dude, while she eventually had a shameless affair with my 'caring' friend who was a well-known playboy? (Indeed, even her friend, i.e. my neighbour, later had an affair with the same guy too - even though she also had a boyfriend!). So there you have it. It's easy to know what 'caring' means to the average Nigerian girl.

Pls sir.. allow me buy u beer! d truth is d truth.. i wonder why we re trying to decorate it with baseless logic. i dunno about d westerners.. but OUR women are becoming more and more materialistic each day! a friend of mine said he read a piece of statistical report that said that prostitution has doubled since d advent of BB's.

yemode2k: Since it is an emerging area there may not be tutors at the moment but i advice you to visit the qlikview website to download complete software along with their training. You need to do a lot of research on your own to empower yourself. I still have a good number of materials on business intelligence and analytics which range from videos to software to get you on your feet.

U re right, project mgt isnt common as a first degree course, and u're also right, it is designed ti aid achieve optimisation in different specialised fields, and that kinds makes it a jack of all trades with no mastery whatsoevr..
And considerin d nigerian job market, one cat just say "i'm a PM, employ me" especially as an entry level employee.
So dats why i'm planning to specialise and narrow my aim to IT.

I just completed a 5yr Project Mangagement course at d Federal University Of Technology Owerri last November, currently awaiting d july NYSC mobilisation.

The big problem is dar even after my 5yrs in skl with Project mgt, which is a very wide course, and without any particular area of specialisation nor any actual practical experience or training. I'm truly worried about employment, considering dat i dont think i possess any PARTICULAR skill that i can offer employers.
so i'm torn between going for a masters degree outside d country, going for an IT course, getting an MBA . But i dont know which'll be better for me considering my first degree. Also, is it possible to do a masters degree in IT with a PM bachelors?

Pls i'm really confused and need to make a decision quickly.. Any thots or suggestions on this would be GREATLY appreciated. Tnk u
