Bialegend: Get your facts right. The five banks didn't turn out to be any true, rather, it turned out to be what we already suspected. That is a fraud perpetuated by northerners to take over banks of southerners by force. Is dat wat u think? |

Shinatu: Ladies are damned if they go to school and get an education so they support themselvescalled bitches and are damned if they rely on you mencalled gold-diggers
When can we win here?
How so true!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
An intelligent and successful single lady has a lot of bitterness coming her way, she is a constant reminder of how a failure the man is (for a man who wants to see it that way) she will have to be extra soft and extra quite for her not to be called a bitch, come to think about it, even her quietness would be regarded as arrogance!
From my experience in the office, guys like and are more comfortable with women who depend on them to deliver (although they are quick to call them dullards behind their backs) more than those who know what to do and go ahead to do it. hmmmmm . well let God guide us all |

yawmee: Nairalanders,
I always want to post everytime on NL but end up procrastinating 'vry now and then.
However, the current banking reform is one that has me very concerned. I've followed the actions of Sanusi in the past couple of months and I'm getting scared for my country. Not because of the billions used in bailing out the banks, or the removal of bank CEO without a common logic or pattern but because the CBN is doing the same thing they are trying to exorcise the banks from- bad corporate governance.
The actions of the CBN is causing panic in economy and it seems Sanusi has embarked on a journey that he has no clear exit strategy.
Who do these CEO's report to? Is 600billion not too much of a price to pay to bail out these banks? Are we not reverting to heavy government involvement in the economy which is usually a catalyst for corruption? So what happens if the banks are unable to pay back the 600bill? Won't nepotism and cronism be glorified again?
Would it not have been better to slowly allow the bad banks wind down their operations like AIG's case in the US? NL people, I am really worried for our economy 'cos 'vryone- media especially- sees Sanusi's actions as messianic but i think we have just gone several steps backward in nation building again. Hmm.this has ignited my concern |

If Nuhu Ribadu decides to continue his fight to the bitter end, would you be there to bare knuckles and wit with this corrupt government? [b]would you Mr. MAN would you? You can abuse or curse my father's house :-) but that matters nothing because for 49 years you have failed to see that the only problem we have in this God-forsaken nation of 45 million christians and 60 million muslims is that 95% of our soo called masses cannot put their foot down and say NO MORE!!! to the 5% that ruin this nation.
Rather they have people like you to cement their already faithless conscience and aimless purpose. In furtherance of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s statutory duty to ensure a sound financial system in the country, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) ordered the Special Examination of all the 24 banks operating in Nigeria. The result of the Special Examination of the first set of 10 banks was made known on 14 August 2009. The CBN wishes to announce that the joint CBN-NDIC examination teams have completed the Special Examination of the remaining 14 banks— and as such the books and affairs of all 24 banks in the Nigerian banking system have now been examined http://www.saharareporters.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3864:2009-10-02-16-15-21&catid=114:press-releases&Itemid=362 |

saworoide: The 3 Million man march in march was a good idea, unfortunately the organisers chose the wrong course and focus. The planned student naked protest in Abuja is a welcome development, however, we do not need to go naked to show our displeasure about the country's state of affairs.
Civil societies and human right groups are normally the catalysts for such revolutions which every other group and citizens desirous of changes would log unto. We did not need so much of organisers and persuasions to come out for the June 12 rallies in the mid 90's because we all realised we needed to act.
Niger Delta insurgence was going to become a revolution until criminality crept into the whole idea and discredit the struggle. Are we ready to face the struggle and perhaps pay some prices for the cause? Are we sincere enough to mount a campaign / struggle devoid of personal gains and selfish ambitions? Are we ready to support to movements for change irrespective of whether the champions are from the North, West or East?
Most Nigerians prefer to go into marathon prayer sessions for the country hoping that God will directly intervene to change the country; we are likely to remain like this until we realise that our destiny lies in our hands. Well said but on the other hand,do u think our hausa brothers are ready 2 join d struggle? |
