Here is my 2 cents worth. I am not sure you have anything to be apologetic for. People looking for properties are looking for as much information as possible without the clutter. I disagree with the dazzling and attractive bit. I just think you need to deliver the information on the product. This philosophy is not for everyone but it delivers the results for the people I have worked with. More useful questions would be: 1. Do you know what the site is about 2. Can you find your way easily through the site 3. How easy is it to find our contact details The success criteria for the sites are based on helping the people that need your product buy your product. I am not sure you will spend much time in Nairaland if every time you turn up there is a big flash screen - scrolling 'the best forum in the world'. Maybe it is but that is not the point. Good luck! |
You will need to get server settings from your email hosting company. There are several choices: 1. pop and smtp server settings. 2. imap settings Your email provider should have details of what you need to do. Either ask them for option (1) or (2). Good luck! |
There are some dedicated agric land down the lekki express way by the abandoned Muritala Mohammed Botanic Gardens. If you are in Lagos then it might be worth investigating. Good luck! |
Depending on what they are looking for, you could try: www.kolaakomolede.com www.ayofasuyanandco.com.ng www.pppil.com www.sweathomereal.com (prices available but no pictures yet) Good luck! |
Try http://www.kakanfoinn.com/rates.shtml - I saw rates of N8000 not sure if that is considered cheap. You could also try Lafia Hotel - Ibadan, Oyo, Nigeria +234 22 31-3936 (could not find a site for them). Good luck! Tim |
try Olasupo Olasubomi Ventures @ Sura. You can find their details @ http://www.olasupoolasubomi.com/. But you did not mention price range Good luck |
kelechiodo:1. Find out about sites the companies currently host - how happy are the customers 2. If you are planning a relatively demanding site in terms of bandwidth - ask if they host similar sites 3. What technology do you require - windows, linux, mysql, msssql etc. I am sure the guys from nairahost, web4africa etc can probably help you. Good luck! Tim |
Make sure it is the makeup artist and not the photographers + lights you are admiring. Having seen what the air brush facility on photoshop can do. If you are looking to be made up for a personal event like birthday parties, dinners, weddings etc - try Elsquare Faces (www.elsquarefaces.com). Regards Tim |
Give them a call and ask them for pics of work they have done, it is easy to jump to conclusions in a forum. |
Talk to ipworks internet in Port Harcourt. Number 084 462936 ask for Linda. She would be able to take your requirements and direct you to one of their engineers. If you are serious, this is not just another working shop, the engineers there know their stuff and would be able to provide more than just internet access. They will also do facility management etc. Good luck! |
Try Ayo Fasuyan and Co (http://ayofasuyanandco.com.ng) |
Maybe they should convert the universities to universities! |
A plot is an arbitrary term used to describe the division made in a particular area by the developers or government. Initially plots were approximately 1000sqm but as prices for land has gone up you get the same quote per plot but this can be 400sqm or less. The first question to ask the agent or developer is 'What is the size of the plot'. |
Here are the minimum requirements needed before installation of Joomla! 1.0.12 can be successful. * PHP 4.2.x or above - http://php.net * MySQL 3.23.x or above - http://mysql.org * Apache 1.13.19 or above - http://apache.org Details from http://help.joomla.org/content/view/34/132/ Good luck! |
.ws does not mean website, it actually stands for 'Western Samoa'. It is the top level domain for that country. The marketer did not exactly tell you the truth. As for the pros and cons, I will leave that to others in this forum. You should market .ng to your clients instead. Regards |
fbajomo:If he is serious and really does not want to get burnt, you should probably contact someone like Kola Akomolede & Co (www.kolaakomolede.com). But he is probably looking at N40m - N50m (about £160,000 - £200,000). Other agents to try are: http://www.sweethomereal.com http://www.bodeadedijipartnership.com http://www.olasupoolasubomi.com http://ip4properties.com/business_details.php?se_business_BusinessID=514 http://ip4properties.com/business_details.php?se_business_BusinessID=970 hope this helps. |
Hello zexyworm, I have made some effort to visit different so called tourism sites in Nigeria and I think a little bit of honesty is required. The environment is not ready, there is no infrastructure, people are not well trained, problems with power and security, the expense of flying to Nigeria and accommodation and so on. I believe deep down we all know this. Sometimes what you see online can be a reflection of the truth. If we are talking about business people that is a completely different matter. You ask any expatriate in Lagos when was the last time they went to a different state just to see the site if work was not involved. We are doing our little bit with www.ip4hotels.com. Regards |
Hi, Hotels in Lagos start from about $30 dollars a night. Be very careful about going below this level, there is a very steep decline in standards for every 2-3 dollar difference in price. On the island you will be looking at $61 for a basic room. You can www.google.com 'Nigerian Hotels' or 'hotels in Nigeria' |
santaa:Hi Santaa, There are several stages to doing this - research -> Search -> Find -> Rent. In the research phase you will find out what your budget can get you in any particular area, prices in Lagos vary from N200,000 to N10m (I know there are cheaper places!). You can start the research process by using www.google.com and search for - 'flats to rent in lagos nigeria' -> Be very careful with agents, try and get as much information about them as possible, it is probably a good idea to use agents that have some sort of online presence, but do your research on agents. On top of the quoted rental fee which you have to pay for 2 years, you would probably need to add another 20% on top of that. 10% agency fee + 10% agreement. Demand that you get an agreement as this has now turned into a way for people to make extra cash. Alway remember 'Caveat Emptor' - buyer beware! Good luck! |

Hi, Probably best to try known estate firms like www.kolaakomolede.com or do a search on www.ip4properties.com. Hope this helps. |
Try www.biodunodeleyeco.com - I have just done a quick search on their site and they have land from about 2 million. I dont really know Ibadan, but if you call them I am sure they will be able to help. Good luck! |
Try www.ayofasuyanandco.com.ng. It will probably be helpful if you post your maximum budget. |
Hi, Best speak to a professionals you can start with the links below for estate agents. Have a price in mind and asked them clearly what their charges are. Deal with agents with a proper physical address, a landline phone number and some history. www.kolaakomolede.com www.olasupoolasubomi.com www.pppil.com www.bodeadedijipartnership.com www.sweethomereal.com www.ayofasuyanandco.com.ng Regards |
Thanks niyyie. I have learnt not to get into issues on this board for several reasons, but will always give advice where necessary - maybe I am showing my age! The .ng domain on its own really does not help anybody. The idea is to be able to tell where organizations fit in by the extension on the domain. Hence .gov.ng = government, .edu.ng = education or degree granting bodies. This is the same with the UK/US which uses the extension to distinguish between organization. This means you can have a company called Kings and a University called Kings and will be able to register domains for both e.g. kings.com.ng and kings.edu.ng. You could also have extensions like sch for school which was taken off the NIRA list - then you could have kings.sch.ng. Niyyie thanks once again. I have always found your comments on this forum well thought through - you are probably showing your age too! |
Deleski:Try www.cornerstoneconstruction.com.ng they are developers and have some properties you might be interested in within your price range. You can also find their details here http://ip4properties.com/portfolio.php?se_business_BusinessID=975 |
I don't think you are been fair, the girls were much better in the flesh during the event. Not sure how old you all are but I remember some of the Ms World contestants Nigeria has had in the past. These girls are better prepared, smarter, more attractive, more exposed (in a good way). You can get a feel for the event from http://purefoto.com/MBGN2007 (lots of pictures of the lovely contestants and the atmosphere). |

Dear Lovely, .ng domains have been available for a bit now and there are several companies that offer registration. You can register it for free from NIRA if you meet certain technical criteria - essentially have nameservers in 2 physically different locations. You will also need to be a Nigerian Registered & Based company. If you have difficulty meeting these technical specs, we can register it for you for N1000. We will then point it to your hosting provider. You should also check the forum as there are quite a few offers to register .com.ng (from free to , ) Hope this helps. Regards |
March is now Nigeria's red carper season and there was lots to see during the recent ThisDay awards. The main question is did the stars, politicians, mistresses, business men and women get it right and what can they do next season to avoid the same mistakes pictures courtesy of www.purefoto.com
