Foreign AffairsRe: Lessons From Nigeria Leave Ghanaians Confused On Election Day by Newbiee: 5:35pm On Dec 07, 2016
Okonjo Iweala, a woman that had seen it all
could come out to say at an American
conference that the SEED OF THIS RECESSION
WAS PLANTED DURING THE JONATHAN REGIME
DUE TO OUR LACK OF FINANCIAL DISCIPLINE,
INABILITY AND LACK OF POLITICAL WILL TO
SAVE. People should not blame jonathan alone
for this because the profligate Nigerian
Governors too are culpable. He attempted to
save, but the governors demanded to take all the
savings citing constitutional right. Money they
took and stole at the same time. Our case is
pathetic.
Do you know that:
Obasanjo's administration earned # 17trn from
crude oil sales within eight years and left behind
45bn dollars external reserves and 3.348bn
dollars external debt.
Yaradua grew the reserves to 64bn dollars
within just one year and the administration was
able to finance 15 months of imports despite the
2008/2009 world economic meltdown. Hence,
Nigeria survived the melt down because of the
political will by the administration to save (a great
achievement by Yaradua which most Nigerians
are not aware of). Despite the tough economic
reality at that time, Yaradua left 47.7bn dollars in
reserves and an external debt of 3.94bn dollars.
Meanwhile, the administration earned only # 9trn
from crude oil sales within that short period.
Now, Jonathan administration witnessed an oil
boom when Brent crude sold for over 100
dollars/barrel, with the regime earning # 51trn
within a period of 5years. But because of
corruption, the administration did not only
squander the oil revenue but even depleted the
reserves left by Yaradua, leaving just 32bn
dollars and a huge external debt of 63bn dollars
for Buhari.
The same Brent crude sold for as low as 35
dollars/barrel at a point shortly after Buhari took
over power and had only managed to climb to
about 48 dollars just recently.
These are facts that can be verified. So, it's
amazing hearing people criticize Buhari for the
hunger in the land.
According to Fashola, Buhari's administration
inherited 206 uncompleted road projects and
contract arrears worth #2.1trn from Jonathan;
and for about 2 to 3 years the contractors where
not paid. This slowed down the economic
activities, with most of the companies laying off
their staff. This was when the seed of recession
was sowed.
It's obvious that Buhari came in to rescue
Nigeria, because if Jonathan had continued in
power, the nation's economic crisis would have
been worse, perhaps even the Federal
government wouldn't have been able to pay
salaries of civil servants by now.
According to Okonjo Iweala, Nigeria started
borrowing money to pay salaries since October,
2014; but today Nigeria now borrow money for
investment in capital projects.
Those who blame Buhari for the current
hardship do so either out of mischief (hatred) or
ignorance. So, we shouldn't join the bandwagon
in criticising him. He may not have done much to
save the situation, considering that he is not a
perfect human being but he means well for the
country and can only succeed with our prayers.
May Almighty God continue to guide Buhari
Administration and Nigerians in general.
Why not share this piece with others for the
sake of enlightenment and conscious prayers for
our nation. We have the responsibility to
enlighten others. Mischievous, ignorant people/
politicians should not drag us backwards.

We Have a Better President in PMB.....
Thank you and God Bless.....

I woke up this morning and I am smiling as 200,000 of my brothers and sisters are now gainfully employed in a day........
I have checked our historical archive in Nigeria but I am yet to see where any President has create a massive employment for 200,000 graduate at a go......
We will forever remain grateful for our choice of president in the person of PMB, who has worked tirelessly and is still working non stop to better the lots of our youths in Nigeria...
This is how you share wealth across the populace not by stealing, looting and short changing the masses by consuming every single yam meant for them....
If every govt for the past 56yrs ago have come up with such massive employment, we won't be where we are now, crime and criminality would have been reduced by 70% or so...
If the present administration can employ 200,000 graduates at a go, in this era where a barrel of oil is hanging around $40 as against what we have before now where it was over $100 per barrel.... Then what do you think it will do if the terrorists that call themselves Niger Delta Avengers are not frustrating the quantity of crude we are exporting even at $40/barrel?
Even as corruption has tied wrapper and is fighting back by frustrating our plans to make lyf better and easier for our people,we will continue to work hard and pray hard that God in his infinite wisdom will endow us with the wisdom to defeat every enemy of progress that is throwing spanner in our wheel of progress...
Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria
Long Live PMB
Long Live Nigerians ..
PoliticsRe: Fayose On Splash FM Ibadan: "Buhari Wants To Give Tinubu Awolowo Treatment" by Newbiee: 5:06am On Nov 22, 2016
Buhari and the Yoruba Nation

Buhari has only appointed 5 Special Advisers so far: They are:
1. Femi Adesina, Media and Publicity
2. Femi Ojudu, Political Affairs
3. Dr Oyeyemi Dipeolu, Economic Affairs
4. Mrs Mariam Nwais, Social Investments,
5. Mr Tijani Abdulahi , National Planning.
That’s, Yoruba 3, Fulani 1 and Hausa 1.

Similarly, these are the Senior Special Assistants to the President appointed so far :
1. Garba Shehu, Media/publicity
2. Okoi Obla, Prosecution
3. Ita Enang, NASS
4. Suleiman Kawu Sumaila, NASS
5.Abike Dabiri, Diaspora
6. Orelope Adefulure, MDG
Out of five SAs which are equivalent to Ministers, Yoruba has 3, Hausa 1 and Fulani 1.
Of the six SSAs, Yoruba has 2, Efik 1, Annang 1, Hausa 1and Fulani.

All Yoruba Ministers but one, are senior ministers. All of them are manning important ministries: Works, Housing and Power, Solid Minerals, Finance, Communication, Health, State for Niger Delta and of course, Information and Culture. In fact, it is right to say Yoruba’s are manning 10 ministries if we recall that Works, Power, Housing, Information and Culture used to be separate ministries.
Don’t also forget that almost all the people personally working with Prof Osinbajo are all Yoruba’s, eg Ade Ipaye, Laolu Akande, late Ayodele Adu, etc.
The only serving General in the country today is a Yoruba from Ekiti.
Yet, a dangerous narrative is being wickedly sold to the public that a cabal has sidelined the south west as a result of which Buhari is being shut with darts of nepotism and an ingrate who abandoned those who helped him to power.
The facts on ground do not support these unfounded lies. And I insist that because a person could not get his minions as governors of other states should not be equated or reduced to an attack on Yoruba people or the Yoruba being shut out of relevance. Things must not be mixed up. If a man, out of unhealthy desire for control gets his fingers burnt in his enterprise, he should not use Samson complex to make us a collateral damage. One man’s interest can’t be our collective interest.
My conclusion is that if the magical cabal could not stop us from virtually occupying the most important positions in this government, it is arrant nonsense to continue to hold on to a faulty premise of a cabal having highjacked power, or working against the Yoruba people.
If this government fails, it is we who have failed. It is obvious Buhari is operating a division of labour: the President mans security and foreign affairs while the VP mans the Economy and Social Investments.
Unfortunately, it is in the latter division that the government is perceived to be below average. We therefore, can’t afford to mess Osinbajo up. We can’t get him to Aso Rock only to ridicule him or dispose him off like a can.
Those on a voyage on creating a one-man political dynasty and empire should not be allowed to deprive us of this glorious era in our history. We must give every support necessary to make sure this government succeeds.
