Call Turkish to confirm. I've heard that a transit visa is required for Dublin. elloso: |
If you are submitting yourself, no need to fill this part. marveltrades01: |
No. You don't need a transit visa. zeb04: |

The visa application process can be harrowing. Good thing it ended well for your family. SweetJJ: |
VFS will share this in the e- ICR they send upon receipt of your documents. As shared before, follow up with them for this as I have seen a comment claiming that VFS priortizes physical submission hence why acknowledgement of courier submitted documents experience delays. There might be merit in this claim based on feedback seen here. SweetJJ: |
That's ample time and the passport should be back before then given no unforeseen changes SweetJJ: |
I don't understand the latter part of the question. If she's applying from the UK, a few things to guide her: 1. How much time does she have on her study permit? If she has 3months left for example, this might cause IRCC to think she plans to settle in Canada through her visit visa. She needs to apply with ample time left on her BRP 2. If she has any kind of work including part-time, she should include the contract or agreement for this, any proof of payment as well as her bank account. 3. Where does she live? She can attach a letter from her landlord confirming consistent payment of rent or tenancy agreement ( if it will expire well after her return from Canada). Utility bills too! 4. She should show connections with her school by including a stamped letter of introduction, transcript showing commitment to achieving good grades, school fees receipt etc. 5. As she is in the UK, might be worthwhile to include recent 2-3 months' credit card statements (if the dues are low) + state the credit limits + mention that she will bring these cards for her visit Of course all of this is in addition to sponsorship letter & documents from her sponsor. I'm uncertain how the NYSC certificate would support her application as a UK student. Her application should be centered around providing good answers to the question "why you are going to leave Canada?". meljoe: |
You can definitely make an enquiry with your MP's office for help with the status on your spousal sponsorship application but just FYI - they are not able to influence the outcome of your application. Re: your TRV refusal, this sucks but when you have "significant ties" in Canada such as a spouse, you need to fight harder to convince them you'll return after your visit. What documents were submitted? Mrbigg777: |
No specific timeline as some have gotten acknowledgement in < 3days and others have taken up to 2 weeks. Scroll back to see questions/complaints on this. Keep following up with VFS team via chat. SweetJJ: |

See a few tips: 1. Focus searching through Middle East, African Airlines and European Airlines with only one stop in Schengen countries. 2. Most Importantly, always check the itinerary to ensure you are not stopping in US, or in two Schengen countries. If your travel dates are not fixed, play around to find better connections. 3. Attached are examples of itineraries that don't require transit visa - AF/KLM with only 1 stop in Europe, Ethiopian with 2 stops (but only 1 stop in Europe). 4. Attached also is an example where transit visa is required - AF/KLM with 2 stops in Europe. aydupy:

For hotels, I like booking.com (you can filter to see only hotels with free cancellation). You can also use hotels.com, expedia. For flights, I use wakanow.com (note that they cancel unpaid bookings usually after 48hrs but the goal for me is to only show the flight itinerary, so it works for me). Alternatively, you can try any of the airlines' websites - I know Qatar, AF/KLM have the book on hold options. PS: Never pay for confirmed tickets or hotels without a visa. My advise above is only to allow you submit travel itinerary. mikeayus: |
I'd say yes but customized e.g. each kids' doc will contain all of your supporting docs, birth certificate & photos to show relationship with the sponsor and the rest of the travel group, school files (transcripts etc), cover letter outlining purpose of trip including itinerary, sponsorship letter highlighting all the ties & financial capabilities. Basically I advise to treat each as an individual application on the off chance that it is not reviewed by the same visa officer. If it's an overkill, you can leave out things like house documents etc from their docs. As always, this is based solely on my opinions. meljoe: |
Given you are the sponsor, your ties (familial, economic etc.) are important to support their application, especially if they are under 21 as just shared. For any one over 21, all your supporting documents + any additional proof of ties for them e.g. any Pet Project they are involved in at school or at work could be useful. meljoe: |
Not sure what the latter means but you will have to upload supporting documents for each person. As it's a family trip, itineraries, budgets and even activities might be similar for all so I won't be overly concerned there. PS: Just a reminder as extensively discussed here, for all kids over 21 years old, they will have to qualify for a visa on their own as well as any support that you may offer or demonstrate for them will only be supplementary. meljoe: |
I just came across this link: https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/566 Try the steps listed and see if it works for you. gr8femfred:

Could you add latest transcripts as well if available as the goal is to point out that these kids have to return to complete school. Anything that can prove your ties needs to be added e.g. I recall a friend who was the chair of their 'ajo' meeting of 35 persons included a signed statement regarding their end of year party to drive home her own ties. She also had the church send a stamped letter as part of some festive events she was leading (and as a bona-fide and active church member). I thought it was funny but after thinking it through, it made sense. Point being, Canada is quite finicky with tourist visas and they'll always err on the side of caution if they have any concern, whatever you think will help, include it. Re: flight and hotel, I always include those in visa applications as I don’t see anything wrong here. I go for book on hold and/or options with free cancellation. Never pay for any of these without a confirmed visa. meljoe: |
Have you received the BVL? What's the latest status on your application?

|
- Visit the website www.wakanow.com - Search for flights from your location in the UK to the location in France e.g. if departing from London and heading to Paris, input that. - Once the fares pop up, proceed with making a booking and chose the pay at the bank option. This will ensure a flight itinerary is set to your email. - Use this itinerary for your visa application. fela1000: |
Don't pay for any flight without a confirmed visa. Check AF/KLM to see if you can book on hold or even try wakanow.com to get an itinerary. fela1000: |
Ultimately, this boils down to you and what you value. Personally, there are non negotiables for me and things like company profile, values, market stability and overall long term goal will drive my decision making. With rising cost of living, a decision like this needs to be carefully weighed: right now Singapore is classed as more expensive that Paris, so you spend more of your take home to maintain yourself than in Paris (this means other French cities are also less expensive). In the same context, if the take home in Singapore is way better (after subtraction of living expenses), and it meets your non negotiables, I'd consider it strongly. Other things like pathway to residency etc. (If that's your thing) can also be considered. If you haven't already, try speaking to a few employees to get a sense of the work culture - might really help you with this. Additionally since the Manchester/Munich offer hasn't materialized, realistically you need to only be thinking about the physical offers you have on hand. Ultimately, as stated above the decision should be made with long term benefit (& economic stability) in mind. Given you are a highly skilled person, accepting a job offer abroad and exiting in 3 months for something else is something I'll advise strongly against. It's just a case of bad faith acting IMO and I know folks might advise you do this and lookout for yourself but that's just my personal opinion. theHanafis: |
If the IRCC tracking portal (https://ircc-tracker-suivi.apps.cic.gc.ca/en/login) was last updated on 20th June, it has an update indicating they sent you a message & it is very likely the next update might have your visa details on tracker. Don't worry unless you need to. Your passport is out for stamping, so just hold on until you get notified for delivery kayce19: |
1. Refusals should be disclosed. People have gotten 5year bans for failing to do this. 2. Keeping her school address is OK. 3. You completing the form is OK as well. You are the main applicant for a group trip and there's nothing wrong with doing this. 4. Might be good to split the budget amongst the group based on the itinerary and budget you have mapped out. So c$1.2k for flights + c$250 for accomodation + c$ 'X' estimate for activities, food etc. should then be listed for each traveller. meljoe: |
The gentleman's case was unique and shouldn't cause any panic yet. When last was your tracking page updated? kayce19: |
Yes. She was not employed as she was a student. The education section dates will corroborate this. The school address should be OK as she was a student. meljoe: |
I'm thinking 10days can get you to spend about ₦7.5m. See flights and airbnb estimates (airbnb is 20mins from Toronto, leaving you with a fair budget for food, activities & transport). That's up to you regarding the UK adult. As she isn't based in Nigeria, she doesn't serve as a strong hometie for any of her siblings IMO. meljoe:
|
https://www.budgetyourtrip.com/canada/toronto estimates about c$1.9k per adult per week, but with things like shared accomodation, not eating out each meals and going on free tours where available, should come down. I'll advice to target about ₦7 - 7.5m max because there are 4 adults on the trip & reduce number of days. Additionally, since your 3 kids are adults & you are the sponsor, their application must be well put together as they still need to demonstrate strong ties to return home to even though they are dependent on you for financial support. E.g. for students, you should include things like tuition fee receipts + latest transcripts/mark sheets + student ID + any proof that can show why they must be back after the Canada visit. meljoe: |
