Good morning, my piece of advice, apply as tourist, I saw a reject on 20th Feb 2023, application was refused cos she didn’t proof relationship with claimed uncle, though the main reason for refusal was cos they couldn’t get to the employer to confirm her employment.

But if you can prove the relationship with conversations, you can give it a try.

Why didn't your employer take his/her call? The next option is for your employer to write to the embassy

ToyinOA:
Hello house,

I’m trying to apply for a UK visa for my mum.
Here is my situation -
1. I live in Canada and would be sponsoring the trip. She has previously been denied a Canadian visa however, we have reapplied.
2. My sister travelled to UK last December with a tier 2 visa and would not be sponsoring as her account isn’t too buoyant
3. My mum is retired (she used to run a personal business) and now lives off her rent for her property and her biweekly stipends from me.
4. She has about 3.5+million in her bank account. I would be covering the cost of her flight ticket and accommodation
5. She has had several UK visas before now but her last visa expired almost 10 years ago
6. The purpose of her travel was usually to visit her sister who is a UK citizen so I’m thinking of putting purpose of visit as to see her sister who has hasn’t seen in about 3 years (her sister came to Naija 3 years ago) and to also see her daughter.
Would this fly?
What documents would I need to support this application?
I’m also considering buying a flight ticket and paying for Airbnb. Would this fly?

Thank you so much guys.

Her profile is ok. Just make sure that you state the facts in the comment box and write an introduction letter too.

Your son is almost 18. At 18 he is an adult and his father cannot stop him. However he(son) needs guidance and soft landing in Obodo Oyibo. So please use Good words to follow his father. Apologise to him and promise to always do as his say. Not because of anything but to set your son in the right direction and under authority in a foreign land. Good luck

quote author=Nikkyberry027 post=120669390]Hello house, please i need enlightenment on this issue

I'm a silent reader on this thread. My son(almost 18) applied for a euss family permit with the help of his dad and was granted last month.
but this is my dilemmas:
1. His father who is an eu citizen and i are no longer together, he left us while my son was still 9 and haven't looked back since, so he's settled there another family, but shockingly he came to nigeria early last year, and said he'll like to take our son with him over to stay with him, after series of argument, and with the condition that my son will stay with his sister in lagos for the whole processing time(but at the time he didn't know i won't follow that).i decided to accept for the best interest of my son and as i have a sister who is willing to look after him over there incase there's any problem, but shortly after the visa came in, he got to know that my son was staying with me all this while in abuja that I only took him to Lagos whenever he has anything to do there concerning the process(imagine something that came be done here in Abuja without this much stress) and then he took the matter up so seriously and said he has nothing to do for the boy again and all sort, even commanded that his sister in lagos seize the passport fortunately i already have it with me. Tho i got a hint that his wife over there knows about the whole process maybe that's why he's behaving that way, I don't know.
2. Now he threatens that he can destroy the visa, and my son will not be able to go without his consent, or do anything there and i already booked a ticket for next month for my son, planning my sister will receive him. as i do not want to ruin the boy excitment and and I believe it is what is best for him because i'dl really like him to further his education over there.
3 So please house i want to ask, is it true he can destroy the visa or my son can't go without him or his consent? are his threat real? because if it is i should probably just end it here, because i'm already tired an confused.
please i need your advice. [/quote]

I have paid for the application fee but I am having issue with booking appointments for biometrics. I have paid 44k for flexi for the family so all of us can go same day, should I need to pay for other 4 children to secure same appointments?

Plenase I need your assistance

No,please don't pay. Let them tag along. The crowd is manageable. If they insist when you get there then you can pay. But nothing of such. Just arrange your documents well and book normal appointments for them. Each of you need appointment

Point Of Entry Story (POE) – Favour all the way

Lagos- London- Dallas

Airline British Airways 10.55pm flight. No transit Visa required

I did my covid test with Medbury in Lekki phase 1, Dropped my sample by 8am , result received by 2pm same day.

Luggage – 2 of 23kg bags one dedicated for food stuff ( dryfish, egusi, ogbono, Okpei, crayfish, pepper) the other my clothes and food items that doesn’t smell like Maggi crayfish, groundnuts. My bag pack had chin chin and my shoes

Got to the airport, custom guys looked at me from head to toe and asked me to go.

My luggage was 23.47 and 23.8 kg each , this was waved

Immigration cleared after slipping thru my passport so many times, he started asking for something but I ignored

The lady at the scanner after immigration complained ( in a polite way) about the quantity of chin chin in my bag pack- I dropped 1k for her

Met some guys that the table in one corner asking for the money that I am travelling with. I brought it out and showed them ( small cos I had my card with me), they started threatening to search me I asked them to do. The next thing is that they started begging for money. I ignored them

BA was a fully booked flight, we board without hassels- By the side – KLM had to reweight their passengers back pack before boarding. They were mean about it.

Feeding on board BA was ok from Lagos to London . The airline was old thou

We landed By 5.XX am everywhere was so bright.

Moved to departure section of the Airport.

Boarding started by 8am for American Airline to Dallas

The chin chin is my backpack passed control. I had to declare the eye drop and small sanitizer in my hand luggage. No issues because they were in a small pack

Board American airways flight. New airline, breakfast was English breakfast. No other meal, the gave us ice cream like 4 hours later and drinks 40minutes to landing. Stingy for a 9 hours flight

Landed at Dallas DFW by 12noon

POE officer- Hello

Me- Hello
POE- Class of visa B1/B2
Me- yes,B1/B2
POE - are you here by yourself
Me- Yes

POE- Asked for my passport

ME- gave it to him

POE – Place your 4 fingers at the scanner

Me- I did

POE- You didn’t place t well, helped me to adjust

POE- gave me back my passport, without opening or stamping

Me- Thank you

I went to luggage collection , picked my luggage and entered the streets ( In Nigerian voice)

No custom or anybody in sight

For PTA please avoid GTB like plague, Stanbic IBTC will attend to you if you have connections. Standard Chartered is a lazy bank they won't even accept your application. Zenith, Access and Globus might be better options

Just to encourage someone :
Osogbo passport Centre
My old passport had less than 6 months left and I have already bought flight ticket in 30days time.
I was told that I needed a new passport
No available date in Ikoyi, Festac and Abuja
Osogbo and Abakaliki was the only available options.
I paid 70k for 32pages.
Application submitted around 2nd of May
My contact too my file and old passport to Osogbo on 6th of May. He goes to Osogbo every Friday to submit the files at passport office.
Capturing was done on 13th of May and passport was ready on the 18th of May. I picked it up at my own convenience
The stress was going to Osogbo for Capturing and pick up but at the end I am happy that I didn't have to move my flight.

Put the name and phone of the Hotel. Let the hotel you are choosing be reasonably priced. Between 70 to 110USD is ok. Don't select $2k dollars a night hotel, unless your father is Buhari.
The number of days that you will be staying is matters too

All the states in America are tourist site but most popular are destinations are New York, Los Angeles, Miami and Washington.

Consider ticket price, where you have friends and relatives and POE before selecting any city

I hope this helps.

Hi all! I'm trying to go through the DS form. There is a place asking where I'm staying. Can I put the address and contact of the hotel I intend to stay? Also which states and places are tourist attractions? Thanks

Good afternoon Gurus, I really appreciate all the work you put in to the group.

Please guys, I need a final run through of the required documents I need to go to the Embassy with for my B1/B2 Visa Interview in 3 day time... don't want to leave anything to chance with these agents.

I just printed both my DS 160 Confirmation, Appointment Confirmation, printed my 6 months Account Statement (80 Pages grin grin).

10 months of wait is almost over and I hope for a favorable response.

More suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks all

Why did you complicate your application? We always advise you to keep it simple. They have seen your UK visa on your passport and that is all that is required. They are not interested in your bank account or ticket.

Book appointment and pray for God's favour. Explain that you are travelling to UK

esdajo:
So I got my parcel delivered today. My passport and all the documents sent to the embassy returned intact. However, there was a white paper inserted that I was refused under 221 (g) and that I should login to my profile and select a date for an in-person interview on the calender. This isnt a problem and I think they returned it back because I wrote on the cover letter that I would be visiting the UK soon before the visa expires later this month. I even included a copy of the round trip ticket as evidence of a pending trip. I'm only wondering if they checked those documents at all as everything was returned intact including the cover letter.

21 days is too much for family vacation. They feel that
Your husband business is not important to him to leave it for 21days. In terms of cost you can't afford 21 days in hotel and tours.

If you want to reapply, let your husband reactive his coy, reduce the number of days to between 9 to 12days. Add your plans what you intend to do in the days that you are staying

Did he add his business bank account, projects won and pictures of projects executed. Projects won and inflows in Bank must tally

When you get the visa, you can spend your 21days or more.

What is the status on the embassy tracking page? So many people are in the your category

Same issue here. Submitted 1st March; Visa issued 7th March; Visited DHL twice and told the passport wasn't with them. I called the embassy customer service line, but they were not helpful as always. Eventually sent the Lagos consulate an email (LagosNIV@state.gov) two days ago and got a response today - see picture. Will be going back to DHL tomorrow. They have to find it.
Your passport is likely with DHL. They are just really sloppy.

Hello Everyone,

I submitted my document for IW on the 1st of March(the exact date my eligibility for IW expire, I got date on 28th of February).

my document status shows "refused" on the 3rd of March, picked up my document from DHL on the 9th of March and was asked to come any Thursday for followup appointment. I was there last week Thursday, 17th of March, 2022. The followup interview went well, just two questions was asked and the VO said my document will be ready within 3 business working days.

I tracked my document today, status show "Administrative Processing" last updated on the 17th of March, 2022, the day I attended the followup interview.

Am worried, because I expect it should be on "Issued" and probably "ready for pickup" by now.

what could be the cause of the delay in processing my document?

Thanks for your responses.

Your application is being attended to. From what I understand, this is how it goes with regards to status:

a) Application Received
b) Administrative processing
c) Issued (or Refused)

Just be patient and wait for a few more days and check the status again. Hope this helps.

I will advise that you keep it simple at this application stage. Apply using one location and hotel. When you get the visa, you can plan your trip.

Good evening Nairalanders, hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

Please I am trying to renew my visa and need help me with these questions:

1. In the application form, what is meant by 'locations you plan to visit in the US?' Is it a reference to tourist sites or cities within the US?

2. Will it impact my application in any way, if I arrive in one state (e.g Washington) and depart from another (e.g California)? I need to know how best to respond to the question about arrival and departure City and this will also help me plan my movement within the US.

Thank you all so much
