Politics / FG Blames Pfizer's Breakthrough For The Hike In Petrol Price by Newstrumpet4: 12:28am On Nov 17, 2020
The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, has attributed the recent increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol to the announcement by an American pharmaceutical company, Pfizer, on its recent breakthrough in the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Speaking with State House correspondents in Abuja on Monday, November 16, Sylva said the announcement of a COVID-19 vaccine by Pfizer triggered a slight increase in the price of crude oil in the global market.

“What happened recently was because of the announcement of a vaccine for COVID-19 by Pfizer. With that, crude oil prices went up a little bit.

If you have been following crude oil prices, you would have seen that crude oil prices went up a little bit as a result of this announcement. So, when crude oil prices go up a little bit, then you will see that (it will) instantly reflect on the price of petrol, which is a derivative of crude oil.'' Sylva said

The minister explained that the government took the decision to deregulate the sector in order to ensure its optimum performance.

“When the price of crude oil goes up, then it means that the price of the fixed stock has gone higher; it will also affect the price of the refined product and that is why you see that product prices are usually not static, it depends on the price of crude oil which goes up and down.

That is why we say, deregulate so that as the price goes up or down, you begin to go up and down as well at the pump. Before now, we fixed it which was not optimal for us as a country.”the Minister said

Family / Guide To Better Budgeting by Newstrumpet4: 11:26pm On Nov 16, 2020
A budget is basically a money plan, outlining your financial goals. Having a budget, you can well establish and regulate funds, set and achieve your financial objectives, and make advance decisions as to how you want your finances to function well for you.

The main idea in budgeting is for you to put aside a certain amount of money for expected as well as unexpected costs.

Simply put, budgeting means an estimation of monthly home expenses basing it on previous expenses and bills.

The initial step to take in budgeting is to find out how long will your compensation last. Define fixed expenses like car payments, home rental, insurance, etc. Likewise follow up your expenditures thoroughly for a month so you can discover and understand where your funds are going. Through proper determination of your “spending patterns”, you can immediately identify solutions for effective budgeting.

For instance, when you have a steady monthly income of $4,000, you should subtract all your identified monthly bills from that income.

Other bills can be assessed and then subtracted from the amount of your income. The balance that remained after fixed costs can now be your budget in the household. Rather than allocating money for miscellaneous like gas, clothing, entertainment and groceries, financial planning will allow you instead to use proportions or percentages of it.

The strategic solution in order for budgeting to be successful is inflexibility as well as flexibility; there are fixed expenses so payment must be an inflexible factor.

Budgeting will best work when very scarce omissions are made to greater limits. The idea here is to formulate goals and plans, then abide by it as much as you possibly can.

Here are tips on how to budget:

1. Have good sense of money management. Your attitude is essential. Reach an agreement and compromise and know the significance of reducing expenditures; it all involves a lot of sacrifice.

2. Plan your situation. Make a listing with your earnings to one side and your overheads on the other side.

3. Know the difference between luxuries and necessities. List down what you believe as luxuries, with it, split the list in half, crossing out half the list.

4. Practice frugality but with dignity. You can have fun with little or without spending at all. Rather than going shopping, play with the kids at the beach or at the park.

Budgeting is an effective and fundamental tool that is readily available to everyone. Consider it, and benefit from it.

Crime / Russian Man Steals Dead Bodies Of 29 Female Children (graphic Photos) by Newstrumpet4: 12:55am On Nov 03, 2020
A Russian historian who robbed the graves of 29 female children and lived with their mummified corpses, applying lipstick and make-up to their faces, has refused to apologise for his despicable act.
Anatoly Moskvin, 59, reportedly robbed the graves of 29 children and lived with their corpses in a flat he shared with his parents in Russia.
According to the Daily Star, while living the mummified corpses, Anatoly applied lipstick and make-up to the faces of the deceased and wedged music boxes in their chests.
Appearing at a custody hearing, Moskvin refused to apologise for exhuming the bodies of the kids, and reportedly said their parents' rights over them "ended" when they buried their daughters.
Moskvin, who has been begging for his release from a psychiatric hospital to care for his elderly mother, claimed his schizophrenia had been treated but refused to show remorse.
He said: "These girls are girls. There are no parents in my view."
"I don’t know any of them. Besides, they buried their daughters, and this is where I believe their rights over them finished…
"So no, I would not apologise."
Anatoly who was first detained in 2011 for the crime, confessed to 44 counts of abusing graves of girls aged three to 12.
He previously told the parents of the children they had "abandoned" their "girls in the cold" and said he had "brought them home and warmed them up."
One of the corpses was murder victim Olga Chardymova, who was just 10-years-old when she died.
Her mother, Natalia Chardymova, 46, said she did not realise that the coffin was empty during her regular visits to her daughter’s graveside.
She has opposed Moskvin's release from the psychiatric hospital, saying "this creature brought fear, terror and panic into my life" with his "grotesque" abuse of the dead children.
She said: "I would be happy to know he will spend his life in the hospital. He is a sick person. From one side, it's not good to be happy about this.
"But I will give me the chance to put a gravestone on the plot of my daughter. She was buried unnamed to prevent him finding her grave again if he is released."
Moskvin's mother, Elvira, 77, said she had seen the "dolls" but "did not suspect there were dead bodies inside."
She said: "We saw these dolls but we did not suspect there were dead bodies inside. We thought it was his hobby to make such big dolls and did not see anything wrong with it."
Elvira also accused the court of being biased against her son who was "not able to be in society, work, or get married."
A judge last week renewed Moskvin's detention in a psychiatric hospital for another six months.

Religion / The Beheading Of French Teacher Paty Is A Great Honor For All Muslims - Sheikh by Newstrumpet4: 7:34pm On Nov 02, 2020
A Sheikh has defended the beheading of a French teacher by a Muslim immigrant student.
Samuel Paty, 47, was beheaded with a long knife by 18-year-old Abdoullakh Anzorov for showing cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in class.

Teacher Samuel Paty, who used the cartoons during a lesson on freedom of expression, was murdered in the street outside his school, sparking outrage and countrywide rallies supporting freedom of expression in France.
Abdoullakh, who grew up in France from age 6, was later gunned down by the police.

A number of Islamic leaders have defended the beheading.

Tunisian MP Rached Khiari had defended the beheading, saying: "Insulting the prophet of God is the greatest of crimes and anyone who commits it, whether a state, a group or an individual, must accept the consequences."

Now, Sheikh Issam Amira, while delivering a Mosque lesson, said the beheading of Paty is "a great honour to all Muslims."
