Pharmacy is the science and technique of preparing and dispensing drugs . It is a health profession that links health sciences with chemical sciences and aims to ensure the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical drugs.
The scope of pharmacy are:
*Compounding and dispensing medication
*Clinical services
*Reviewing medication for safety and efficacy and
*Providing drug information

WHAT IS A DRUG
A drug is any chemical substance which can be use for the treatment, diagnosis and prevention of disease. A drug is a substance which when administered at therapeutic dose produce a therapeutic effect on a living organism.

WHO ARE PHARMACISTS?
Pharmacists are healthcare professionals with specialised education and training who perform various roles to ensure optimal health outcomes for their patients through the quality use of medicines.



THE DISCIPLINES OF PHARMACY
The field of pharmacy can generally be divided into three primary disciplines:
Pharmaceutics
Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy
Pharmacy Practice
Though pharmacology is sometimes regarded as the fourth discipline of pharmacy, but it is worthy to note that pharmacology is not specific to pharmacy alone, though it's essential in the study of pharmacy but it is clearly a biomedical science.

Pharmacology : the study of the biochemical and physiological effects of drugs on human beings .
Pharmacodynamics : the study of the cellular and molecular interactions of drugs with their receptors . Simply "What the drug does to the body"
Pharmacokinetics : the study of the factors that control the concentration of drug at various sites in the body. Simply "What the body does to the drug"
Pharmaceutical toxicology : the study of the harmful or toxic effects of drugs.
Pharmacogenomics : the study of the inheritance of characteristic patterns of interaction between drugs and organisms.
Pharmaceutical chemistry : the study of drug design to optimize pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, and synthesis of new drug molecules ( Medicinal Chemistry ).
Pharmaceutics : the study and design of drug formulation for optimum delivery , stability , pharmacokinetics, and patient acceptance .
Pharmacognosy : the study of medicines derived from natural sources.

I am keen to display my despondency to the persisting spat going-on on various fora over the tag NATURALLY AHEAD attributed to Ahmadu bello University Zaria,The whole situation is akin to Alice in wonder land.

Being an Abusite is not a criteria of becoming the best or superior among others.

However, it is inaguable that ABU is indeed a great citadel of learning,and a melting pot of the country where learning in diversity is practicalize,beside being the first in nothern part of the country,it is the largest in sub saharan africa.

Ahmadu Bello University Zaria,Is a center of character and learning which inculcates morals amongst her students.

Owing to the above reasons i deemed it right to express my grim dissatisfaction that an institution with such reputation will confer a fake degree. is a political ploy to tarnish the image of the university.
