Musiwa, you want to tell me you look finer than Tinubu. Bring your photo and lets compare it with Tinubu here.

ijaw citizen: FOR THE SAKE OF THOSE WHO DIDN't READ THEIR ELEMENTARY ECONOMICS & GOVERNMENT IN SECONDARY SCHOOL (AT LEAST), LET ME POINT OUT THAT IN PREVIOUS CENSUSES CONDUCTED SOMETIMES IN THE 70'S, ETHNIC GROUPS WERE INDICATED AND 10 MILLION IJAWS WERE RECORDED NOT ONLY IN OLD RIVERS STATE, BUT NATIONWIDE NOT EVEN ACCOUNTING FOR THOSE OVERSEES, AND THOSE THAT WEREN'T COUNTED DUE TO THE DIFFICULT TERRAIN OF OUR ENVIRONMENT.There has never been any census figures that has claimed ijaws are up to 10 million. Stop spreading falsehood. Nevertherless, you hardly find any ijaw outside Bayelsa, Rivers and delta states. @Nairalanders, do you see any ijaw at your work place, business centre, classroom or in your neighbourhood. Me personally hardly see any or hear of any. |
@Abagworo, you created a thread for the ijaw plight. Nigerians not only Ndigbo contributed here negatively or positively, yet Ndigbo are the ones being insulted now by the ijaws. Please let the ijaws handle their problems. I know you mean well for them but in actual fact, they hate you (us) not because we are neighbours but because they know we are more prosperous. |
ijaw citizen: Having read through all the comments posted since my last visit, I don't know why certain people still want me to comment on this unintellectual discussion.Yet you have not answered the question I asked you earlier on. Abagworo read somewhere that Ijaws are about 14 million. Nairalanders said no and that they are between 3-5 million. Which figure is accepted. |
ak47mann: some parts of edo state belong to ijaws,i think they should allow them to form their own state from that side too...They are about 30,000 in Edo. Very insignificant. |
Abagworo: The Igbos in Rivers State are Egbema and Obigbo. Maybe you mean Igbo speaking. Ikwerre is the majority ethnic group in Rivers followed by Ogoni. Rivers is a highly multi-ethnic State but seem to have a sense of nationhood irrespective of the multi-ethnicity.The Igbo in Rivers state are not only Omuma, Egbema and Obigbo but also includes Ikwerre, Ekpeye, Ogba, Ndoni and etche. In Rivers state, they know it but would want to see themselves as different from the major 3. |
re@lchange:In Nigeria, Ijaw is not a major ethnic group. But in Rivers, they are the second major ethnic group. The major ethnic groups in Rivers are the Igbo, Ijaw and Ogoni. |
aribisala0: This is exactly the kind of Achebe logic we have to contend with. It goes something like this.Dude you are wrong. Achebe believes in merit and he praises people who have excelled based on merit. |
Prof Corruption: laughable.Rivers is not an Ijaw state but a state of 3 major ethnic groups namely Igbo 40%, Ijaw 35% and Ogoni 25%. |
Dudu_Negro: shut your trap. who opened your cage?

Mods, can you transfer this nonsense to the culture section. Writing in any other language is not allowed but if you have to, it should be at the culture section. You yorubas like doing this, why?. |
Probably 19th century Yorubaland. |
Prof Corruption: The former Eastern Region has been balkanised to nine states: Abia, Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Rivers, Akwa-Ibom, Cross Rivers and Bayelsa.Itsekiris rejected the yorubas and joined the midwest in a referendum in 1963. Why are you trying so hard to push Itsekiris into Yorubaland contrary to their wishes. Let there not be any madness of this sort in this 2013. |
Where are you Ijaw citizen?. reply me please. |
ijaw citizen: @MR ABAGWORO & AFAM FOREVERSome people say Ijaws are 3 million, some say 5 million and now Abagworo has manufactured 14 million from no where, so can you tell us how many you guys are?. |
Isiterere: There are over 250 ethnic group in Nigeria, the 3 most popular of them being Hausa,Ibo & Yoruba. Nigeria has 6 geopolitical zone namely southeast, southwest, southsouth, northeast, northwest and north central. Ibos are predominantly in south east. While in school; I missed freely with different tribe cos I makes friend easily but something that always puzzle me the most is about my friends from the southsouth and southeast region. Whenever there is any short break or long vacation, if you ask them where they will spend their holiday? The answer will be a joyous "in my village" Very recently a good friend of mine serving in the same school with me , I ask her where she will spend her brake and she said she will first spent a little time with an uncle in Abuja before going to her Village in Enugu for xmas and new year. Another friend of mine from Delta state presently residing in Kaduna said she will be in her village for the xmas and new year. Meanwhile my southwestern. Friend will proudly say the name of their town where they will observe their break. Hardly will anybody from southwestern part of the country call their town, city a village. My question is "do we have more villages in southsouth and southeast part of the country compare to other region".....Your comment and experience is highly welcome....Why not type Igbo as responsible people here do, or is your keyboard not equipped with the keys to type Igbo?. |
musiwa10: ijaws dont even own warri.. how could they own a place that is nearly over 100 kilometer far from ijawland..Monkey, i dont mean the entire ondo state. The hinterland ondo state belongs to the yorugbas mostly and some Edos. But the coastal region originally belonged to the ijaws. Because the ijaws abandoned the land for fishing does not mean the land is not theirs. You should be happy ijaws are not asking you to pay rent on the land you have had since more than 150 years. |
musiwa10: now ask your self question. now delta state can see, I was only trying to save them.. they would have been poor like ijaw people.. if they join niger delta.. international law, does not give them what they have been illegally receivingConcentrate on Ondo areas and the land which at first belonged to the Ijwas before the yorugbas came from hinterland and claimed it. |
musiwa10: You go and ask the old people there, if they know my name. they will tell you, we own alot of the land..You don't get my point. The land now partly belongs to the yorugbas. But before then, it belonged to the ijaws. Ijaws were not interested in farming and hence no one cultivated the land. Then yorugbas in search of farmland took control. The land belongs to ijaws, Yorugbas are recent immigrants and farmers in search of farming lands. |
Obinoscopy: How about this: Is the Federal Civil Service OverPopulated? Should they be downsized?Obino, am an admirer of your comments. However, am pained greatly by your lack of contributions on Igbo topics. Do you not want Igboland to move forward?. |
musiwa10: that land alot of it belong to my family.. I hope you know..Ijaws back then were not interested in the land but fishing in the seas. They even build their houses in the water. As a result, yorugbas were able to steal the ijaw lands. |
musiwa10: how can the oil in ondo state belong to ijaw.. ijaw are immigrate in ondo state.. you see that portion of ondo state.. Guess who own alot of the land.... that the ijaw who live there now.. Guess who own alot of that land..The Ijaw are not immigrants in ondo state. The coastal strip of Nigeria has always been home of Ijaw people. Yorubas came in recently. |
