He should have remained in the background if he didn't want to get booed. People are dying of hunger; they don't want to see his face at a worship event. 16 Likes |

numericalguy: A lot of Yoruba peoole have been calling for Igbos to leave Lagos so it makes very little sense for him to have a base there. He's showing other Igbo billionaires how to behave. Ojukwu told them, now they're listening. 1 Like |

femisplash: MC Oluomo is from a Yoruba royal family and behaves like that? Shame on you for even saying this in a positive light! On one hand, you that Igbo tradition is corrupt. On the other hand, you say that a well-known tout and criminal is from a well respected Yoruba royal family. Can you not see your own hypocrisy? Btw, I truly believe that you're having a mental breakdown right now so I'm not going exacerbate it by replying you further. |

Politics / Re: 250k Flight Ticket, Igbos Are Not Doing Better Than Others by Ngozi123(f): 5:01pm On Dec 05, 2023 |
femisplash: Title preparation is expensive because everything is expensive in Nigeria nowadays. The people ruling the country (not voted in by the vast majority of Igbos) have completely destroyed her economy. It's not by force to have a chieftancy title so it being expensive or not should not be an issue for anybody. London has exclusive members-only clubs where you have to prove you're wealthy before joining. Are they wrong for that? As for the bolded, aren't Tinubu and MC Oluomo titled chiefs in Yoruba land? Hushpuppi, nko? Yoruba dominate the Yahoo business both home and abroad. Is Hushpuppi Igbo? |
Politics / Re: 250k Flight Ticket, Igbos Are Not Doing Better Than Others by Ngozi123(f): 4:48pm On Dec 05, 2023 |
femisplash: It really isn't. You will see poverty in every region in Nigeria but pound for pound, the South-East is probably one of the least affected by extreme poverty. It doesn't mean much to me, though. More needs to be to tackle all poverty in Nigeria (whether it's extreme or not). |
Politics / Re: 250k Flight Ticket, Igbos Are Not Doing Better Than Others by Ngozi123(f): 4:34pm On Dec 05, 2023 |
femisplash: Nope. Money is only one factor in getting a chieftancy title. The title can't be bought but the things needed to prepare getting the title cost money, if you understand what I'm saying. |
Politics / Re: 250k Flight Ticket, Igbos Are Not Doing Better Than Others by Ngozi123(f): 4:16pm On Dec 05, 2023 |
I don't get the point of this thread. So many anti-igbo bigots like the op have never failed to remind Igbos that we do not belong in Nigerian politics. Some Igbos have accepted this and encouraged themselves with the fact that, regardless of who is ruling the country, we will be fine and successful. Why are you so mad at the notion that Igbos are doing well? What kind of envy is that? 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Reno Omokri Compares Southern Geopolitical Nigerian Women Dressings In The 1920s by Ngozi123(f): 12:46am On Dec 04, 2023 |
Gajagojo: I don't think the analogy you've used is accurate. A more apt one would be the Korean and Japanese writing systems. They are in many ways similar but also different too. You cannot use the Efik form of Nsibidi/Nsibiri to formulate Igbo words (as you can with Latin letters and Yoruba). There are completely different symbols (letters) in each that do not exist in the other. If you were to say that Igbo Nsibidi/Nsibiri was derived from the Efik one then I think your argument would make more sense. It may or may not be true but it would make more sense. Igbo Nsibidi/Nsibiri is one of it's own and only for the Igbo language. |
Politics / Re: Reno Omokri Compares Southern Geopolitical Nigerian Women Dressings In The 1920s by Ngozi123(f): 12:35am On Dec 04, 2023 |
Gajagojo: I only know one albino family and they're Yoruba. I don't care about whatever argument you're trying to make (there's nothing wrong with albino people and people like you with your prejudices make their lives 100 times harder) but the high number of fair skinned people in the Igbo ethnic group can only be attributed to genetic mutation. This was as a result of our environment and diet. Albinism is different to light skin. The albino Yoruba family I mentioned above had two dark skinned parents and two albino children. |

Christistruth00: That's nice. First, it's "Igbos are tribalists" then, when it doesn't suit your narrative, it's "Igbos hate themselves". It's getting boring now but what will never be boring is the fact that you (and those like you) depend on the Igbo for your very existence. I truly feel sorry for you. It must be such a conundrum to be so dependent on those you hate. Sorry 1 Like |

Gajagojo: He's shown you written symbols for specific Igbo sounds/letters. It could not possibly have been for any language other than Igbo. Why are you so hell-bent on not believing the Igbos had their own writing system? What lies were you told about Igbo people? |
Politics / Re: Reno Omokri Compares Southern Geopolitical Nigerian Women Dressings In The 1920s by Ngozi123(f): 12:04am On Dec 04, 2023 |
Gajagojo: Why are you so jealous of our fair skin? The reason why we have so many fair people is because of our environment and diet. Igbo land was heavily forested so a lot of our people were protected from the sun. Our diet is vegetable-based and doesn't contain too much oil. (Eating too much oil can darken your skin and green, leafy vegetables contain a lot of vitamins, including vitamin C, which can make your skin look bright and radiant.) 2 Likes |

Gajagojo: You're exposing yourself as a bigot here. Nsibidi/Nsibiri is a part of both cultures. Both cultures intermixed a lot and share traits with one another. Go and do some research on the Nri Kingdom and you'll see that it didn't just cover Igbo land. 2 Likes |

Christistruth00: So you're still here, carrying Igbo matter for head? You should be thanking God for every Igbo man, woman and child. If not for them, you would not be able to practice your religion in peace. If not for the Igbos, you wouldn't even be allowed to keep your moniker here on Nairaland. Pristine664: I disagree. Many Yorubas here have insulted Igbos unprovoked – even before all of this "Lagos is no man's land" business. Too many of you are ignorant of Igbo culture and judge it by what you see in Nollywood films. I will give you one example of your people's tribalism from someone I know. He is an Igbo man and was sharing a room with a bunch of other Nigerians (mostly other Igbo men). Only one was Yoruba and he brought his relative to stay with them. His relative (another Yoruba man) foolishly believed that all Igbos were ritualists and would kill him in his sleep if they could. Did you know that when this guy had a seizure, it was those same Igbo guys who saved his life? If not for them, that Yoruba man would probably not be alive today. Many of your people have backwards conceptions of Igbo people before they even open their mouths so please don't blame Igbo people for your own ignorance and misconceptions. Thank you 1 Like |
