You yourself are still trying to drag Minorities into your New Country

A fully autonomous Regioned Nigeria will have no Problem
It was Ironsi that Abolished the Autonomous Regions that had been carefully and meticulously designed and put in place by the British and the National Fathers

Who is trying to drag minorities into their country? I've always pushed for an Igbo-only country in the event we secede from Nigeria. You must have me mistaken for someone else.

Have either of the most recent two presidents (who you probably voted for) pushed for regionalism? The Igbos leaving gives less power to Christians and more to the Muslims (Northern Muslims, in particular). It will be a case of "anything they say, goes" (even more than it is now.

Kindly show us your Biafran Map

Let us Start from there

Why would I show you a Biafran map when I have no interest in Biafra?

You and your ilk will become 2nd class citizens the second the Igbos secede.

For argument's sake, let's say that the percentage of Christians in Nigeria is 50%.

Let's also say that the percentage of Igbos in Nigeria is about 20%.

This would mean that the Igbo account for 40% of the total Christian population in Nigeria.

If you take this away, what are we left with?

37.5% Christians and 62.5% Muslims.

Your people's rights are already being stamped on by religious bigots as things stands now. You will see what I'm talking about when the Igbos leave.

True or false? If the Igbos left Nigeria, Nigerian Christians would be 2nd class citizens overnight.

SW doesn’t hate SE People
It is Ipob and the Politicians Who are creating a Crisis of Suspicion

But the Attitude below is very bad !

Why would you hate Igbos when they're the ones allowing you to practice your faith in peace?

Politics / Re: Why We Should Stop Shaming Yorubas For Outcome Of The 2023 General Election by Ngozi123(f): 12:42pm On Nov 17, 2023
realG101:
I have observed a trend recently on the internet and especially on nairaland and I believe it will help us all a great deal if we refrain from the trend and get more clarity.

Let's call a spade a spade. That nigeria's affairs are in the hands of tinubu right now is not because yoruba people voted based on tribal sentiment.

It is because as usual there was massive rigging perpetrated by the inec as a result of corruption and impunity in the system. This is just one leg of it.

The second reason is that, as far as elections are concerned, the nigeria police and judiciary have always acted as arms of the ruling party at any given time.

That said, one problem that Nigerians have is that we have this habit of relegating real issues and hopping on trivial ones. We get carried away in the process and even begin to fight ourselves on tribal or religious basis while the real enemy continues to do more damage.

It's not further math. If all the yorubas (SW) voted for tinubu and all the igbos (SE) and SS voted for obi, obi would have out performed tinubu in a free and fair election.

This tells us that tribal voting wasn't the big factor in tinubu's victory, it was electoral malpractice.

See all that energy we expend dragging and cursing people who allegedly voted tinubu on tribal basis, let us channel it towards re-examing how events unfolded during the last general election, which loopholes inec and apc exploited for their rigging game and let us brainstorm on how to be prepared to beat them to the game by bridging those loopholes next election.

I can assure you that if we continue trading blames over who didn't vote for the right candidate and refuse to talk about the real issues, 2027 election will also come and go and the story will remain the same.

I'm sure those who didn't apply wisdom in voting during the general election are regreting already. We don't really need to over flog the issue.

The post election tribal war on the internet is even a threat to sensible voting in subsequent elections so let's nip it in the bud.

God bless Nigeria.

People tend to generalise but how many people from the South-West (from the States that voted APC) actually came out to say that the results were rigged and that they did not vote for Tinubu?

Look at what happened in Rivers State. There were many Rivers people who came out to say that they did not vote the Tinubu-led administration in.

Have we seen this anywhere in the South-West (excluding Lagos and Osun states)?

Tinubu is very purposefully making his administration to be 'Yoruba-heavy' so that his people can take the blame for his poor policies. More of them should be speaking against this.

Christistruth03:

I prefer them to continue just to be double sure they will also loose again in 2027
The Muslims in the North and SW are already out of bounds for them
The others who voted with them are already begging for forgiveness on the account of the
heavy Tribal insults and bashing they are daily receiving

Look at someone calling himself "Christistruth" coming out to speak against the Igbos. The same Igbos you repeatedly insult are the ones enabling you to practice your faith in peace. Go to any Muslim country and find out if you can even evangelise there in peace.

It is a Nigerian thing, most Nigerian believe Nigeria is divided into 3 ethnics, only few educated ones know we have over 200 ethnic groups .

Nope. They know full well that SS minorities exist. You will see them bring it up whenever there is mention of Biafra or Niger Delta oil.

The truth is that they really see these people as Igbo but only postulate and label them them otherwise when it suits their agenda.

The truth is that they don't really care about these minority tribes. They just a means to an end to put Igbo people down.

There is a new wave of politicking that APC is using and it's dangerous to our democracy. That is the use of judicial technicalities to swing judgement in their favour. Election is no longer won at the polling unit, especially for the opposition parties. Also the inflation of figures at its strongholds and suppression of voters at the oppositions strongholds is what they use to achieve their results.

There is no more democracy in Nigeria. The recent elections have confirmed it.

my dream was that immediately I came over, i and my dependant will search for jobs.. work and pay bill. but that is not feasible as I am seeing it.

i started this process with 15 million naira then when naira nose dive i had to borrowed extra 15 million to top it with interest of almost 2 million naira. landed in uk, started seeing the reality on ground

i have been in UK since 1 month plus. but getting a job as a migrant or new commer without UK experience is not easy.
in fact i have sent over 200 job application for cleaner, care assistant etc but all came with a sorry we have moved on to the next stage or you don't have uk experience.

school fees has to be paid. everyone here in tight corner... school has sent mail threatening to report to the immigration if school fees is not paid in the next few weeks to most Nigerians here.

no job, house rent is expensive.. going for 450 to 600 pounds per month.

travelling through student route is not really easy because you have to balance between work and school.. 'even at that where is the job as a new migrant.

Please if you are considering coming to UK for now.. please put on hold. the crowd from Indians, Pakistani, Malaysia, china etc is overwhelming.

it's not worth selling your home to be here.

i sleep in indeed and all this job site.. still yet nothing, bills mounting up.

all my colleague i came with are still with no jobs in other cities

after spending 13 million coming here with extra 3k dollars now almost exhausted chai

if u know you don't have full school fees, house rent for 12 months, upkeep.... running to 35m to 40m please stay back... stay back or apply through skill route.

edited with more info.

you mentione food earlier

their are lot of factor that can make price of food increase a good example is subsidy remover, immediately tinubu announce subsidy food went up right

tell me tell me why naira falling down is not affecting the price of food stuff now

i find you come here again, answer this

Check back here in 4 months time. As the Naira loses value, the price of everyday essentials will increase. It just won't happen as suddenly as it did when the fuel subsidy was removed.

I am a yoruba man, I got blocked here on nairaland severally because of my staunch support for Tinubu. My friend laughed at me today because of the state of our nation and my believe in Tinubu for a new Nigeria. I don't care about Tinubu , I cared about Nigerians and my family at home. Tell me in Tinubu six months as president,a policy he has made to cushion the pain and suffering of Nigerians. He never cared, all he was doing was to travel around the world to patch his long term damage reputation which to me is irreparable, while putting his allies and loyalist in key offices. I was there when Osinbajo was a few month or weeks president and he ensured dollar was pegged at 350 from over 700 Buhari left it. Human being are involved here, and not animals.Today many Nigerians are living below the poverty line which means Nigerians are poor than poor, yet things are damn expensive and nothing seems affordable to the poor again even garri in the market. This type of settings give rise to insecurity, higher crime rate and many menace that could jeopardize the damage reputation of our country further. He should think of a way to stabilize the economy, after which we can gradually transit to the invisible canaan he is promising, which no one sees. Enough is enough, soon Nigerians will start throwing stones at their convoy after they push us to the wall. Despicable men stairs the ship of our nation, making disastrous self serving policies in the interest of the masses. God will punish Tinubu and his family if he failed to do the needful.

Thank you! I want to see more Tinubu supporters coming out to speak the truth.

how is the dollar affecting you if you are not an importer which we dont want

Nigeria is an import-heavy country. From the food you eat to the cars you drive. A weaker Naira will lead to widespread inflation on most of your goods, which will lead to a reduction in quality of life.

Many people will starve to death because of this.

Do you think that it's only importers this will affect?
