agabusta: You people keep talking like you know tomorrow. Do you even know if Nigeria will even exist come 2027? There is a lesson to be learned for you people and from your comment above, it seems that you have still not grasped it yet. I urge every Igbo person to not tell them what it is. |

Tallesty1: They keep talking like they will even get a chance to 'punish' the Igbos. Tinubu is here to stay until 2031 so they should just be praying to God to survive his tenure. |

If you're voting for a candidate just to please a particular tribe then you are a fool. |

Objectivist04: There's a clear and conceited effort to put all the blame for the maladministration of the country on the Igbos. It happened before the Biafra War and it is happening now. My only advice to Ndigbo is to please remain calm and do not engage in any single protest. All they can say right now is that we're making mouth on Social Media. That is it. They have nothing else to say. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Fineman2: Is it not strange to you that you're complaining about Igbos not sympathising with your plight yet at the same time time complain about us not sympathising with the Palestinians? Has any Palestinian come out and spoken against your people's issues? Many Igbos have come out to sympathise with your people. Some of those that haven't may have used the war as a reason but if you've studied history, you would understand their point of view. If a parent tells their child to not put their hand in fire and they do it, there's a 50% chance that parent will admonish the child before helping them. Please don't hide behind the "we were under the control of the Nigerian government" as an excuse for the atrocities committed in the Biafra War. It doesn't wash and it makes you come across as unsympathetic to what the Biafrans went through, which is ironically what you're accusing the Igbos of doing. 6 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Re: An Open Passionate Letter To My Fellow Igbos by Ngozi123(f): 8:31pm On Feb 18 |
I think that some people mistake Tinubu supporters aka Agbadorians for all Yorubas and that's where the issue lies. People should make it clear that they're talking about Agbadorians and not all Yorubas. Some people also make the same mistake with Igbos and Obidients. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Why There's Little Or No Complain About Hunger In South East Region. by Ngozi123(f): 8:08pm On Feb 18 |
AntiZikist: Please let me explain it to you plainly. During the Biafra War, there was a lack of food in Igbo land. This was because they were at war. During times of peace, there has been no lack of food in Igbo land. The starvation that occurred in the Biafra War did not happen because there was no produce grown in Igbo land. Below are some of the reasons it happened: 1) Many farmlands were bombed. 2) Many farmers were conscripted (less people to farm) 3) Gowon ordered a blockade (produce that would have been grown in the land was reduced so the Biafrans would have been more reliant on food being shipped in; Gowon's order effectively sentenced many to death via starvation.) Do you now understand what I am saying? |
Politics / Re: Why There's Little Or No Complain About Hunger In South East Region. by Ngozi123(f): 5:15pm On Feb 18 |
AntiZikist: So you think that Igbo land has no food produce? The reason why there was famine was because they were in the middle of a war. Gowon's government enforced a food blockade, which prevented vital shipments from going into Biafra. Farms were bombed; civilians were killed and regularly forced to duck from the bombs. There was no way for the agricultural sector to function properly. I can't even believe that you would use the Biafran War as evidence that the Igbos cannot produce their own food. My goodness! 1 Like |

NextAbuja: It's not because of hunger that these women tried to sell their children, they are criminals. That's like saying poverty is the reason people kidnap other people. If that was the case, wouldn't everyone be doing it? 1 Like 1 Share |

RepoMan007: It all depends on how it's utilised and maintained. Just like with Nigerian hotels. They spend a lot of money on fancy materials, which end up deteriorating because the owners cannot afford to maintain them. I'd rather they build something simple, sustainable and working. Something that would benefit our children and children's children. |

DissTroy: Most people's relatives are from the same tribe as them, unless they have a multiethnic background. So, I fail to see how this could be a case of tribalism, not nepotism. Don't get me wrong, I think it's wrong. People should only be hired based on their ability to do the job well, not on how well they know 'the boss' or his wife. However, I do not like this "Igbos are taking over" trope. It started from before the civil war and despite the fact that no Igbo man has been in power since then, it still exists now. |

DissTroy: If they are only helping out their relatives then that's not tribalism, that's nepotism. You people can hate Igbo people all you like, it isn't going to make your country or your lives better. My only advice for you people is to start agitating for your own country now because when the Igbos leave, you will have to face the Fulanis and Yorubas alone. |

Ipob are correct. The government should encourage competition. These big companies only care for themselves, not the country as a whole. If that wasn't the case then Dangote cement wouldn't be cheaper in other African countries than it is in Nigeria. 1 Like |

yemmit90: Have you not seen all the posts from Yoruba tribalists that have littered this site in the past few years? From shouting at the top of their lungs that no Igbo man will ever become president to posting pictures of starving Biafra babies. Even the owner of this site has made some shocking anti-Igbo comments on Twitter. Anyone not personally involved with Tinubu voted for him based on religious or ethnic lines. They deserve all the ridicule they get as they have helped to plunge the country into a darkness it may not recover from. |
