Give him and ask if he wants more. |
Happy Birthday Toyosi. |
Wassup Ogaga, I know you've written extensively about your beliefs but many times you write from a religious perspective. I want to ask about your codes of ethics. I'm speaking about things that guide you in your day to day interactions with other planetary objects - humans or non-humans. |
sexyLeamon:I very much believe in it's existence. But as I always say, there's two types of love. There is the type that you should have for everyone, regardless of their color, beliefs, and how they feel towards you. This love I call one love. It is the number one fruit of the spirit in the bible and many other religions talk about it. Then there is the second type of love, it should be given to only one person. To deserve and get the second type, you need the first one. |
sexyLeamon:Maybe we're doing it wrong. Maybe we shouldn't search for true love, maybe it will always come to us if we deserve it. |
Why do we always have to compare people with ourselves or with each other? Why can't they be great and great? Why does it have to be great and greater? |
bluespice:Did you? |
Many of the books mentioned here are my favourites Especially "Great Expectations,"my favorite book ever. What's boring? These are things we can all relate to, aren't they? Big dreams, surprises, teenage crushes, crazy aunts, nice uncles. Oh well, I guess it's one man's food and another man's poison. |
bluespice:If you've not being doing bad things ( |
Gabry:What?!?! That wasn't for you, you shouldn't be thiefing other people's motivation ![]() |
bluespice:Just stay strong and hold your head high. Whenever there's a storm, there's going to be a calm. How soon the calm comes depends on how strong you are. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oh3lNIMFW7I |
I would hold you. |
sign (shine) on. |
speaking of shining . . . |
I see you're shy to answer the question, you can whisper it in my ears if you want. |
shouldn't we be answering together? |
Your marital status, I meant. Why the angry face na? |
What's your own status? |
michelin89:Seriously? |
I think these are kegite slangs. There's a thread for it already. |
LOL. I don't mean buying bread from a street hawker. I meant depending on a street hawker to provide my needs, like parents do. Yeah, but I always loved those spicy, blackish plantains sprinkled with pepper, I patronize them well well. |
Again, I have nothing against street-vendors but is there a way to combine street vendors and safe roads? Is it possible? I think it is. Is there a way to combine lots of street vendors with safe roads in an overcrowded, not-so-organized city? No! This is where priorities come to play what is more important street hawkers or better roads? I would say better roads but that's because I've never been a street hawker or depended on a street hawker to provide bread. One possible solution is a middlepoint where street hawkers and safe roads meet. |
oyinda.:I have to say I have nothing against street vendors, everything I said in my last post was just for the sake of argument, It's not something I've studied enough to form a strong opinion. That's the number one reason I'm participating in this discussion. To learn and not to argue, I come with an open mind. How is the ban on street hawking going to affect the population? I'm assuming many of the street hawkers will move away once their means of livelihood is taken away. (It's true some of them will still stay, some of those who stay may end up doing not-so-legal things. Discussion for another day.) Yes, I wanted to keep the pay while I was waiting for a better job to come along. But that's the problem, people shouldn't wait for jobs, people should actively seek jobs. |
Is this not more religion than culture? Or more culture than religion? Either way, good luck with your research. |
Hey Sean, good job. I don't think you're a plant by the US government, and even if you were, what's there to spy in Nigeria? Potbellies? My only fear is that you are using this for your own personal amusement. Is it poverty porn or do you genuinely care about the welfare of street-traders? My other problem is that you seem to view this from the perspective of someone who loves street traders, I would like you to be a little more objective, don't come to conclusions before your research. You need to realize the dangers these street hawkers face everyday, you also need to understand that Lagos, in the first place, is overcrowded and not so organized. The fight to get street hawkers of the streets is part of the fights to make Lagos less crowded and well-organized. The street hawkers make this extremely difficult. You also have to understand that many of the street hawkers are not happy doing what they do, one can argue that if they are removed from the streets, they would be better motivated and forced to do something they like. I should know about this, because I used to have a job I didn't like but I just never left and sort of waited to get fired. Many of them probably want to get removed. Also, it could be argued that it's is moral to kick them off the streets because they endanger life and make traffic slow. |
Aloy.Emeka:No |
What was Yekini saying after his goal too? "I am Rashidi Yekini, son of Alhaja Yekini that lives in Ibadan and has been to the holy land twice" ![]() The players themselves can't remember these things. I guess these are questions that can't be answered except we get the same guy that read Materazzi's lips, but even with that we'll have to teach him Pidgin English, Yoruba, Edo, Igbo and Hausa. |

what a weird argument: keep hawkers off the street to make lagos less populated. if u want the streets to be less populated, might as well just impose a ban on street usage
