I happen to have been raised by a financially disadvantaged parents in lagos and as time went by,I progressed in life and found myself relocating to my new base.

I work with the Big F and I earn my salary and I have a business i do at the side which is close to 100million naira today.

Now is the deal,I want to start importation of spare parts business in Abuja and be selling them here in the north.

What advice do u have for me. I have someone who would be bringing in it from America.

Tell me what to expect as I really want to diversify.

As soon as a relative travels abroad, or is doing well, you guys will start sucking the person dry, swear that the guy never reached out or assisted you and mom in anyway, shape or form. Your brother had a good plan, unfortunately he got a bad wife, how does that make him a simp, is he the first man to send or bring a wife abroad and the woman starts misbehaving?

As someone who’s the breadwinner, I can totally understand your brother, at some point he has to look out for himself because if doesn’t, you guys will kill him with black tax and your sense of over entitlement.

If that guy actually wanted the progress of his family,I think his brother would have been the first person to assist knowing full well,that it was his mum's hard earned pension that was used to send him abroad.

I am a living example,in fact my father got downsized in 2001,that is 15years before his retirement,but it was his gratuity he used in training three of us at the University and I when I graduated and relocated,I got a job and immediately,I relocated my brother and got him a job too just to make sure I stabilised my family first.

Family first and I don't care how sweet the woman turns out to be. The major thing is,the money was mummy's pension for crying out loud.

There is no crime in helping the family to grow.

Can 2M be enough for a single guy to rent a house and living comfortably in Lagos?

I'm currently living with my parents and I'll be 22 by June.. I plan on moving out of their house by the end of this year or latest, early next year (so help me my creator)...

But I'd like to know or have a rough Idea of how much I should budget to live comfortably... I've place my budget at 2M for rent and other amenities or accessories. I'll be schooling at LASU and I know the price for a decent room and parlour self con is around that kind 200-250k....so guys, please help me out.

Move to Abuja and u will thank me later in few years to come.

This you dialogue is sound but not extremely perfect, acquiring a landed property or even build or buy a real estate asset ( when I say real estate I'm not talking about family apartment house which fake asset but a rental apartment house that can be lent out to generate passive income).
Acquiring such property is also a wise financial decision. Let me use my personal case study here, couple of Year back I was in a particular temporary hustle which I embarked to gather fund for my dream business I notice I was having more than enough fund to initiate my dream business so I decided to take some out of the excessive fund and purchase a landed property so as to save the money from inflation ( inflation it reduces value of money) now I have the continuous appreciative property while I'm also with enough fund to start a business now, the bottom line of this my submission is you can still acquired such property at a moderate financial level that won't hit much the total earned fund while you proceed in digging more cash flow along side.

I really like your submission it's very financial educative.

This is exactly what I do mostly.


Invest 50% of my capital in landed properties and not in building,when it appreciates,I can then sell to enhance my capital.

Salaries comes once in 4months or once in 5months.

That state has been stolen from the people long ago and her revenue chopped and squandered like wild hyenas.

This current governor is a waste of votes,waste of resources and a waste of govt.
