This is the main point. The trick to stopping penile injuries is to thrust quite shallowly, according to Tracey Cox. ‘Holding your partner close to you using a grinding rather than thrusting motion will also reduce the risk’, |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY WEDNESDAY, 15/11/2017 #TOPIC: HEAVENLY CONSCIOUS? #TEXT: Galatians 5:19:21 "Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, furnication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envying, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God." Proverbs 29:1 (LITV) A man who hardens his neck when reproved shall be suddenly broken, and there will be no healing. #MESSAGE: One way to be heavenly conscious is to live right. Righteousness will make you to be heaven bound while on earth. When you are living in sin, you can not even see the kingdom of God. Sin is one thing that will stop you from making it to heaven. Listen to what God said about this; "He that is unjust, let him be unjust still, and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly, and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am the e Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie." ( Rev. 20:11-15) # Know that heaven and hell are not figments of people's imagination as some people think, but will be real home for the saints and sinners. # Permit me to ask you a very pertinent question this morning; Which one are you preparing for, is it heaven or hell ![]() #NOTE, Your choice of where you want to live will be decided while you have breath in you now. If you live righteously, your final destination will be heaven and if otherwise, it will be hell. But I pray for you this morning, may you not end up in hell in Jesus mighty name! # Beloved, if you don't want to end up in hell, you have to live righteously, by getting close to the WORD of God. Hear the Psalmist; " "Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against the." ( Ps. 119:11) # Friends, The kingdom of God has principles or commandments for righteous living, and this can only be discovered in God's Word. It is only in God's word that you will see character or habit that is acceptable by God, you will also see a way to do business rightly, a way to marry without defiling the bed, e.t.c, in short, the way to live upon the surface of the earth and still make heaven can only be found in God's word. # Until you embrace the Word of God which is the manual for righteous living, your preparation is inadequate. Be reminded Heaven is real, and Hell is real. James 1:22 (LITV) But become doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. #PRAYER: Father, deliver me from hypocrisy so that I will not end up in hell, give me grace to live life according to the standard of your Word in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY MONDAY, 13/11/2017 #TOPIC: THE WAYS OF THE LORD! #TEXT: Proverbs 16:25 (AMP) There is a way that seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of death. Ecclesiastes 11:5 (KJV) As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. #MESSAGE: Beloved, do you know that God has ways and so also you too? But God's own way is superior, better and profitable to your own. That is why, you must not miss His ways at all. If you ever miss God's way, you will miss your place. # Moses became great because he knew the ways of God. Moses had the task of leading a congregation, more than three million people, through the wilderness and into the land of Canaan and Moses knew that he was not able, not fit for the task. So his prayer is this, 0 God if you love me, and if you have called me, and if you have this job for me to do, then dear God show me your way. Show me your way. I want to understand the ways of God. Was this prayer answered? Did God show Moses His way? Indeed He did. In Ps.103:7 we read this and it is very significant. "And he made known his ways unto Moses and His ways unto the children of Israel."' # Listen friends, our God is a master planner (Jer. 29:11). Before He starts anything, He has finished it already. # Friends, there is a need to know God's way and abides therein. God will always want to take you His own way to guarantee your arrival/end. God know what is good for you more than you know for yourself. If you don't understand His ways, you get frustrated. He actually does not need anything to make everything work. # He took Joseph through His own way. Every experience of Joseph was to prepare him for his greater destiny. I believe, left for Joseph alone, he would have preferred another way but that might not take him to where God took him. Hear what Joseph said unto his brothers; Genesis 50:20 (LITV) And you, you intended evil against me, but God meant it for good, in order to make it as it is this day, to keep a great many people alive. #PRAYER: Father, I drop my own ways for Yours, lead and establish me in Your own path that i may arrive and fulfill destiny in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THWE WORD FOR TODAY TUESDAY, 07/11/2017 #TOPIC: BECOMING A KINGDOM ADDICT. #TEXT: 1 Chronicles 22:14, 19 (KJV) 14 Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto. 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD. #MESSAGE: # kingdom addicts are genuine seekers of God's kingdom on earth. They believe that their treasurable heritage in life is God's kingdom. therefore, their heart is to see that the kingdom of God is established here on earth during their earthly sojourn. "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" ( Matt. 6:21). May God's kingdom becomes your treasure In the Mighty name of Jesus! # kingdom addicts makes the Lord's kingdom and His righteousness their topmost priority in life. They promote the kingdom with their 3T, i.e, TIME, TALENTS and TREASURES. Now consider David in the bible, "How he sware unto the Lord, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob; surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up to my bed, I will not give sleep to mine eyes, nor slumber to mine eyelids until I find out a place for the Lord, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob". ( Ps. 132:2-5) # Friends, dare to become a kingdom addict indeed just like David. He was a genuine seeker of God's kingdom. He engage his TIME and TREASURE for the kingdom. ( 1 Chronic. 22:3/14) # Beloved, do you know that seekers will always find! Because David sware unto the Lord as touching the promotion of His kingdom, and the Lord also sware as touching his destiny. Hear what the bible say " The Lord hath sworn unto David; he will not turn from it ; of the fruit of thy body will I set on the throne" ( Ps. 132:11) # Beloved, what is it that you have and keeping away from the Lord, is it your TIME, TALENT or TREASURE ? You need to have a change of heart and become an addicted kingdom promoter, that God may also promote you! NOTE; IF YOU TRULY WANT TO SEE YOUR DESTINY FULFILLED LIKE THAT OF DAVID, THEN ENGAGE THE DAVIDIC ADDICTION NOW AND ALWAYS! #PRAYER: MY father and my God, baptise me afresh with grace for absolute commitment to your kingdom. Let everything about the kingdon turns me on always in Jesus most powerful name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL TE WORD FOR TODAY SATURDAY, 04/11/2017 #TOPIC: FASTING AND PRAYER (PT. 3) #TEXT: 2 Corinthians 11:27 (LITV) in hardship and toil, often in watchings, in hunger and thirst, often in fastings, in cold and unclothedness, MESSAGE: Prayer and fasting is a spiritual activity you should regularly engage in to keep you spiritually fit and growing. Some people believe that doing a long fast for 30 days is sufficient for one year. While this is a good spiritual exercise, there is still the need to continue fasting in the course of the year. When the Lord addressed the question of why His disciples were not fasting often like those of John the Baptist, here is what He said in Luke 5:34; “34 And he said unto them, Can ye make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? 35 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.” # Beloved, since the Master has been received into glory, it is clear from His words that we now are expected to fast often. Some people fast for a short period at a stretch and thereafter they want to feast for the rest of the year. This is not good enough. A better practice is to find or create some time monthly or better still weekly to engage in fasting. Fasting was not strange to the patriarchs of old. Fasting does you so much good spiritually, so it should be a part of your lifestyle. You can live a fasted life. Yes you can! Sometimes ago i made up my mind to live a fasted life. You too can do that! # Our own dear Apostle Paul, while detailing his experiences in life, in 2 Corinthians 11:27 said that fasting was a reoccurring activity in his Christian life: Hear him;“In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and unclothedness.” # Like i rightly stated yesterday, most people who find it difficult to fast simply have a problem with discipline. They are so used to eating that they cannot sacrifice a few meals to seek God’s face. Anyone who cannot control his or her appetite may remain enslaved to the body. Fasting helps to subdue or break the controlling power that the weaknesses and desires of your body have over you. # Friends, you can go ahead and fast. You can start with one day per week, and increase your tempo as God strengthens you. #Be reminded; Matthew 4:4a (KJV) But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, #PRAYER: Father, strengthen my inner man, give me grace to subdue the flesh always in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY FRIDAY, 03/11/2017 #TOPIC: FASTING AND PRAYER (PT. 2) #TEXT: Matthew 6:16-18 (LITV) 16 And when you fast, do not be as the hypocrites, with sullen face, for they disfigure their faces so that they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to you that they have their reward. 17 But you in fasting, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 so as not to appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father in secret. And your Father seeing in secret will repay you in the open. Ezra 8: 23; So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreate #MESSAGE: Fasting is the voluntary denial of an otherwise normal function for the sake of intense spiritual activity. Fasting is a valid, biblical tradition. Fasting reveals what ans who controls us. # Fasting should not only be our response to urgent needs, (in emergency situations) but a lifestyle. That is why you must be disciplined. The disciplined person is the person who can do what needs to be done when it needs to be done. # Friends, do you know that Fasting is a Fuel for the Soul and spirit?. When properly motivated, fasting demonstrates faith and commitment to God and leads to a deeper relationship with him. # Fasting is for everyone who follows Christ. It is a tool God has given us to increase our spiritual power and help us communicate more intimately with God. And if we don’t make use of it, we are not only going to be missing out on much of what God wants to do in and through us, we will be disobeying Jesus clear instructions. # Jesus knew there would come a time when He would not be physically present any longer with His disciples / with the church. Perilous times would come when supernatural strength would be needed. “Then they will fast IN THOSE DAYS.” Beloved, we are living in such days today - the Bridegroom is absent and our needs for spiritual power are SO very great. Jesus intends for us to seek after God with great prayer and fasting. Now Jesus knew this great value of fasting. He developed a lifestyle of prayer and fasting. It’s clear He’d been fasting prior to this incident with the demon-possessed boy (He cast it out and said the reason He’d been able to was because “this kind only come out by prayer and fasting”. What’s the implication? Jesus had been fasting.) # Beloved, Godly prayer with fasting releases breakthrough spiritual power. Jesus was ready for every occasion of life and ministry BECAUSE He developed a lifestyle of prayer with fasting. THERE IS GREAT POWER RELEASED THROUGH THESE PRINCIPLES. Embrace it! #Remember, Jesus did not say "if you fast" but He said "when you fast" #PRAYER: Father, I receive grace to discipline myself, so as to make fasting and prayer a lifestyle after the order of our Lord Jesus, in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY THURSDAY, 02/11/2017 #TOPIC: FASTING AND PRAYER (PT. 1) #TEXT: Mark 9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. #MESSAGE: In the kingdom of God, one surest way to power is through fasting and prayer. In other words, fasting and prayer is not negotiable in the school of power. We have seen great feats and certain conquests recorded in the Bible as a result of fasting and prayer. Beloved, fasting is not a punishment as some folks thought but a means of getting certain difficult things done. When prayer is combined with fasting, it makes tremendous power available unto testimony. Fasting and prayer is a spiritual exercise that brings spiritual profit. In Isaiah chapter 58 from verse 6, God was speaking about what fasting and prayer can bring to the table. He was actually saying, "Any time you fast, you access power that changes situations". Friends, fasting triggers power. It ignites fire! Isaiah 58:6 (KJV) Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? # Beloved, it was true that Esther obtained favour from king Ahasuerus. Many are even praying that prayer, that God should grant them such favour. But did you know that Esther paid the price? Yes she did something that made God to turn the heart of the king to favour her. She did not go to the King's presence casually, she had done her spiritual assignment as it were, so no wonder she couldn't be stopped. Read her account and be persuaded; Esther 4:16-17 (KJV) 16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish. 17 So Mordecai went his way, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him. # Friends, Esther knew that the task ahead was a difficult one, the move was not according to custom, such that could get one killed. That's why she said, " if I perish, I perish". But she also know the power that fasting and prayer carries. She and her people engaged in fasting and prayer and the rest was a testimony. Esther 5:1-2 (KJV) 1 Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house. 2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre. # Beloved, it is important I emphasis on Esther 5:1, the fasting she proclaimed was meant for three days, and it was on the third day while the fasting was on going that Esther made her move. Whaooo! what a wisdom. #PRAYER: Father, thank You for today. I receive grace never to despise fasting again, but to place value on it, and that each time I engage it, you will supply me the needed strength in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! MONDAY, 30/10/2017 #TOPIC: HE WILL DO IT FOR YOU! #TEXT Genesis 18:14, (NKJV). "Is anything too hard for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son." 2 Peter 3:9, (NIV) “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise…” #MESSAGE: God gave Sarah a promise that she would have a baby, but she was well beyond the childbearing years. She thought the promise would come through somebody else. That made more sense. She was too old. So she got her husband, Abraham, together with a young maid, and they had a baby. Sarah said, “Thank You, Lord. The promise came to pass.” But God said, “No, Sarah. I didn’t put the promise in them. I put the promise in you. You have hidden treasure that is still buried in your womb.” But as long as Sarah thought, “I’m too old. I’m at a disadvantage. I don’t look like these younger women,” she was talking herself out of what God wanted to do. Friends, has He promised you? That promise is going to happen soonest. He is saying to you today what He said to Sarah. “I didn’t put the promise in somebody else. I put the promise in you.” Look past your circumstances today and look to God. The one who promised is faithful, and He will bring it to pass! # Beloved, do you realize that as a believer in Jesus, you have a tremendous advantage in life? The Creator of the universe is not only fighting your battles, but He is lining up the right people, the right breaks, and the right opportunities to move you forward. You may be facing a situation right now that looks like it’s never going to turn around, but I believe that you’re going to see some changes quicker than you think. You’re going to come out of debt quicker than you think. You’re going to accomplish your goals much quicker than you think. That relationship is going to be restored quicker than you think! # Remember, God is not slow in keeping His promise. I believe you are entering into a season where you are going to see the hand of God move like never before. He is going to open up doors that no man can shut. He is going to turn impossible situations around and take you places that you never dreamed. It’s time to get ready for more of God’s favor because that breakthrough is going to happen quicker than you think! #PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank You for being faithful to Your Word. I know that You will bring to pass every promise You’ve made. I trust that You will complete the good work You’ve started in my life. Help me keep my heart and mind focused on You as I stand strong in faith to see Your promises come to pass in my life in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! FRIDAY, 27/10/2017 #TOPIC: WAIT ON HIM AND KEEPING HOPE ALIVE! #TEXT Isaiah 49:23 (NIV)...those who hope in me will not be disappointed. Job 11:18 (KJV) And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety. Romans 5:5 (WEB) and hope doesn’t disappoint us Psalms 31:24 (RWV) Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD. #MESSAGE What a powerful promise we have from Almighty God! Hallelujah!!! Isaiah 49:23 (KJV) : for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me. # Beloved, when we put our hope in Him, we will never be disappointed. Of course, that doesn’t mean that things will always go our way. There may be temporary disappointments, but we will never be permanently disappointed. Somewhere down the road, God will cause it to all work out for our good. With God on your side, you will always end in victory. Just wait on Him and keep HOPE alive! # To hope in the Lord is to wait for Him, to wait for the fulfilment of His promises. To hope in the Lord is to hold onto His word(s). To hope in the Lord is to never consider alternatives irrespective of the challenges facing you. To hope in the Lord is to Judge Him faithful. # Friends, are you carrying frustration, worry or aggravation about something? Hear this; That’s usually a clear sign that your hope is in the wrong place. If you hope in circumstances, of course, it will deplete you of joy and peace. But when you turn those circumstances over to God, when you refuse to worry, when you refuse to allow the temporary things of this world to dictate your happiness, that’s when God can do a work in your life. When you trust in Him, He will make your crooked places straight; He will cause you to mount up with wings like the eagle. # Dear Friends, don't put your hope in that friend, that uncle, or even that pastor, but rather, choose to put your hope in the Father; and wait on HIM, you won’t be disappointed. He didn't disappoint me and He will never disappoint you also, only put your hope in Him. Hear what the scripture says; Habakkuk 2:3 (KJV) : though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Trust Him because He is faithful. Find rest for your soul in knowing that He is a good Father, who wants the best for His children and i can tell you from my findings in the scriptures that He has good things in store for you. Just WAIT on HIM and keep the HOPE alive!!! #PRAYER: Father, thank You for today. I give You every frustration, every aggravation, every difficulty. I release total control into Your loving and able hands as I place my hope in You. Trusting you Lord that you will fulfill your promises in my life this season as I wait on You and keep hope alive, in Jesus migthy name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY THURSDAY, 26/10/2017. #TOPIC: OVERCOMING LIFE CHALLENGES (PT. 3) #TEXT: 1 Samuel 30:10-13, 15, 17-18 (KJV) 10 But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor. 11 And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they made him drink water; 12 And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights. 13 And David said unto him, To whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days agone I fell sick. 15 And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company. 17 And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled. 18 And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives. #MESSAGE: God words are true. God is faithful. God does not lie, He does not fail, and He is sure. Just as God promised, David recovered all as stated later in the scripture (1 Sam. 30: 18 and 19) If God has promised you, hold on to His promises in faith, they shall surely come to pass in Jesus name. # Friends, it's true that David overcame and revovered all, but his third strategy contributed greatly to his wining. In 1 Sam 30:10, God told David to pursue. David obeyed and pursued. Therefore obedience to divine instruction, when it looks irrational is also another principle of overcoming and restoration. Beloved, What has the Holy Spirit told you to do that you have refused to do out of fear or procrastination? Hear me this morning; You miracle is in obedience. # One thing you must know is that divine instructions comes with divine provisions, though you may not see it until you make a move of obedience. As soon as David obeyed divine instruction, and moved in pursuit of the Amalekites, God provided a provision of sure recovery.‘And they found an Egyptian in the field, and they brought him to David’- verse 11. # Dear friends, God has positioned someone to guide you out of your problems, as you take steps, your divine helpers will manifest in Jesus name. David never knew the way the Amalekites went. He never knew their route. He simply pursued out of blind obedience. Then help came from heaven. He met an abandoned slave from the camp of the enemy who showed him the way. Help is on your way as you take steps to come out of your crises. God shall show you the way, when there seems to be no way. # And here comes the fourth strategy of David;‘And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs’ – verse 12. This word is for you this morning; Be nice to strangers, as your deliverance may be wrought through them. David’s camp never knew who the Egyptian abandoned in the field was, and yet they treated him nicely. Several other people might have passed by him, thinking he is an unnecessary distraction and nuisance. Alas, he held the key to the way forward in David pursuit of his enemies. Your love for your neighbors and strangers may determine your deliverance. # Beloved, stop weeping, it doesn't solve any problem. Pray to God as you engage this Davidic strategies and I see you overcoming every challenges/invasions of the Amalekites in Jesus mighty name. ‘And David recovered all’ –verse 18. David recovered all the enemies stole from him. You too can recover all if you follow the principles of David. You can overcome that challenges and recover your marital joy, your job, finances, health, and most importantly your salvation in Jesus name. #PRAYER: Father, thank You for your word this morning. Give me grace to obey divine instructions and not to be carried away with its simplicity. Lord, in every challenges i face, provide me an helper that will guide me into victory and direct me into recovery in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTER: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY WEDNESDAY, 25/10/2017 #TOPIC: OVERCOMING LIFE CHALLENGES (PT 2) #TEXT: Psalms 34:19 (KJV). Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. 1 Samuel 30:7-8 (KJV). And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. 8 And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all. #MESSAGE: Beloved, when life throws some difficult curves at you, you, have a choice of how to deal with them. We saw it yesterday that David made the right choice of looking unto to God and not trusting in his armies or experience. # Difficult times are easier dealt with when Christ is in the boat with you. Phil. 4:13. Jesus helps us bear our burdens if only we ask him. 1 Peter 5:6–7. So when life throws those curves and you find yourself straining at the oars, don't forget to stop, and look unto Jesus. # Today, we are looking at the next strategy of David, before that, its important i emphasis his first right move again. Of course, he did not just look up unto a strange God, but he encouraged himself in His God. Take note; "his God". But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God’- verse 6. David could encouraged himself in the Lord because he had a relationship with God. He was a child of God, and ran to his father for help in trouble. If you are not a child of God, your father would not listen to you in trouble. Another step you need to take to overcome your afflictions and crisis situations is to become a born again Christian. When you surrender your life to God, it includes your burdens, yokes, challenges, crisis, and difficulties. ‘ # Dear friends, another secret of overcoming crises is seeking the face of God. The Holy Spirit is the revealer of secrets and knows both the causes of your problems as well as the solutions. You need to enquire from the Lord the way out of your problems. David was able to overcome because, he enquired from the Lord, and God told him the way out. And David enquired of the Lord’- verse 8. It goes without saying that before you can enquire of the Lord, you should have a relationship with God. God would not respond to your prayers, unless you are walking in righteousness. God keeps silent when several people call to him in troubles, because their hands are full of sin and iniquities. The days of trouble shall surely come, from time to time, but you need to walk with God always to be able to overcome the challenges of life, and these evil days through divine guidance. #‘Pursue, for thou shall surely overtake them, and without fail recover all’ verse 8. Another lesson form this story is that you must be willing to PURSUE if you wish to overcome your problems. Many of us are docile, lazy, fatalistic, and fearful. David pursued his enemies, fought them, overcame them, and recovered all. If he did not pursue, he would not have overtaken. If he did not overtake, he would not have recovered. Depending on your circumstances, the act of pursuing may be different from what David did. But you need to take steps to move forward. You need to challenge powers that are oppressing you. You need to fight to recover your lost fortunes. #NOTE: Restoration may not fall on your laps unless you engage in a divine fight. #PRAYER Father, I cherish my relationship with You. Help me to stay connected to you irrespective of the storm of life, that i may enquire and receive divine direction from You in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |

Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY MONDAY, 23/10/2017 #TOPIC: OVERCOMING LIFE CHALLENGES (PT 1) #TEXT: 1 Samuel 30:1-3, 18-19 (KJV) 1 And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; 2 And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way. 3 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. 18 And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives. 19 And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all. #MESSAGE: Beloved, are you in any crisis situation right now? Hear me, you are not the first. There were people before you who found themselves in more complex situation and yet they overcame it through God. You too can overcome that crisis, if only you stay on God's side. # Many are getting it wrong like David first did. 1 Samuel 30:4 (KJV) Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep. Friends, If you are in crisis situation, weeping or crying does not solve your problems, it can only increase your blood pressure making you depressed and hypertensive. David and his people almost wept themselves to death, but this did not bring back the people taken captives. Weeping glories Satan, not God. # Beloved, are you presently grieved, depressed, and on the verge of committing suicide or something funny? David was in a similar situation,( 1 Samuel 30:6a (KJV) And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved) but he was able to overcome this. # But in that same verse we saw that: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. If you follow the steps of David, you shall surely overcome your present grief, depression, and anxieties in Jesus name. # Dear friend, In whom are you encouraging yourself, when you are in crisis? Is it false prophets, your riches, friends, wisdom, or power? None of this can handle life crisis for you. Hear it again;‘But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God'. In other words, David looked up to the God of heavens when he was in crisis. The first step you need to take to overcome your crisis, is to hand over the burden to the burden bearer and crisis solver. Tomorrow, I shall be showing to us the subsequent strategies David engaged. #PRAYER Father, I look up to You this morning, I encourage myself in Your Word and Power against every crisis facing me, deliver me in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTER: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! FRIDAY, 20/10/2017 #TOPIC; LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE! #TEXT: Matthew 5:16, (ESV). “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glorify to your Father who is in heaven.” Luke 11:35 (KJV) :Take heed therefore that the light which is in thee be not darkness. #MESSAGE: Beloved, as a true child of God, people are expected to "feel" your light by your good works everywhere you go! You are God‘s representative in this earth that is full of darkness, and you are a light carrier. So the light you have received (and receiving) from Him must be released to drive away every form of darkness in and around you! # Friends, you might be asking; how do i shine the light? That is very simple; When you follow the Word of God and allow Him to work in your life, you are letting your light shine. When you are good to people and show them kindness, even when they don’t deserve it, you are shining your light. When you smile and keep a good attitude, even when things don’t go your way, you are setting an example so that people will glorify God in heaven. # Notice this Scripture says, “they will see your good works.” People are not impressed by your well articulated grammar or how eloquent you are; people are only drawn to God by your good works/your light # Beloved friends, today, i like you to ask the Lord to show you ways to share His goodness with others. Look for opportunities to let your light shine everywhere you go—at home, at work, in the supermarket store, at the church, i mean everywhere. Look around and you will see that there is always an opportunity to be an example of God's goodness and radiate His light/glory! # Our second text says you have the responsibility to keep this light of yours shining. Some people's light have already turn to darkness unknowingly to them, that is why you must take heed by positioning/aligning yourself to His own light always. John 8:12 (AMP) :Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, I the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the Light which is Life. # Be reminded; You can't give what you don't have! #PRAYER: Father, thank You for choosing me to be Your representative in earth. Show me how to shine my light always to attract men into your kingdom. Help me to be an example of your goodness to everyone around me in Jesus name. Amen |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! THURSDAY, 19/10/2017 #TOPIC: WHEN YOU OBEY! #TEXT: Deuteronomy 28:2, (NIV)“All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God.” Job 36:11 (KJV) If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures. #MESSAGE: # Beloved, do you know that all God desires from you is not just partial obedience, but total obedience just like Abraham. Genesis 26:4-5 (NRSV) 4 I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of heaven, and will give to your offspring all these lands; and all the nations of the earth shall gain blessing for themselves through your offspring, 5 because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws." # When you walk in total obedience, God takes delight in you, just the same way you would do to any of your children that honours you by obeying your words in every season. # As walking in obedience comes with blessing, so also not obeying comes with curses. Hear what God said; "Jeremiah 12:17 (KJV) But if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith the LORD. Job 36:12 (KJV) But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge. # Today, many of us are obeying but we are selective. In other words, we choose what to obey and which aspect to obey. Some of us are obeying God in our finances but we still keep envy, some of us are addicted kingdom promoter yet we still dishonor our parents (Biological and Spiritual). Some are still serving two masters, their business and God, even after He has told us that He is a jealous God!. They place and honour their businesses above God. Friends, who deserves honour, the gift or the giver? Ponder over that! Exodus 34:14 (NRSV) (for you shall worship no other god, because the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God) # For example, each of the "Ten commandments" is important, as a matter of fact, none is to be disobeyed if you must receive that your desired blessings! Beloved, I encourage you today, to begin to walk in total obedience even as you serve Him in reverence, to attract His blessings to your life. #PRAYER Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You with an open and humble heart today. Keep me close to You and give me a heart that will always follow Your Word in total obedience in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE: #DAILY #DEVOTION THE WORD FOR TODAY! WEDNESDAY, 18/10/2016 #TOPIC: SPIRITUAL BOLDNESS! #TEXT: Ephesians 3:12 (KJV) In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. Acts 4:13 (KJV) Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. Acts 4:29 (AMP) :And now, Lord, observe their threats and grant to Your bond servants [full freedom] to declare Your message fearlessly, #MESSAGE: Today, many derives "boldness" through certain toxic substances, when they take it, they claim they are fearless, yet they suffer defeat and damages. Ogogoro (local gin) and Indian helm boldness does not stop the enemy. Your tramadol or cocaine boldness can not make you to stand against spiritual forces, it will rather help them to finish you quickly. It is only Spiritual Boldness received from God via study, meditation, prayer and companionship of the Holy Spirit that can sustain you and help you to fulfil destiny. ( Acts 4:13/31) # Spiritual Boldness has to do with the strength that enables us to withstand fear or difficulties. It means to be fearless irrespective of the level of the situation facing someone. The Bible says "FEAR NOT" over 300 times, which means be courageous. (Deut. 31:6-7). (Joshua 1:6-7) # Friends, do you know that boldness encourages your faith to work while fear deplete your faith? If only you can understand your superiority over the devil based on the lionic nature you have in Christ, you will be fearless at all times. (Pr. 30:30/31) David understood this and declared his fearlessness in Psalm 23:4. # Hear me, boldness is not reckless impulsiveness. It is the courage to press through our fears and do what we know is right. ( Ex 1:17) ( Acts 5:29) Boldness makes you not to be afraid, but to be strong no matter the weight of the intimidation. # Until you can express boldness in the presence of the "Herods" and Pharaoh of this world, you have not yet understood your superiority. # It came to a point that the Apostles had to ask for Spiritual boldness when oppositions arose against them in the discharge of their assignment. Acts 4:29 (NIV): Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. # Beloved, how bold are you in the face of that Goliath? David show his courage in the face of the giant Goliath even when all Isreal were afraid. ( I Sam. 17:45-51). You too as a child of God must tap into the lionic nature of our Lord Jesus, and manifest lionic boldness at all times. #PRAYER Father, please, just like the Apostles, grant me boldness against every form of threatenings in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTER: #DAILY #DEVOTION THE WORD FOR TODAY! TUESDAY, 17/10/2016 #TOPIC: BE SANCTIFIED! #TEXT: Isaiah 6:5-8 (BBE) 5 Then I said, The curse is on me, and my fate is destruction; for I am a man of unclean lips, living among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of armies. 6 Then a winged one came to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from off the altar with the fire-spoon. 7 And after touching my mouth with it, he said, See, your lips have been touched with this; and your evil is taken away, and you are made clean from sin. 8 And the voice of the Lord came to my ears, saying, Whom am I to send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I, send me. #MESSAGE: # Sanctification remains the key to usefulness in this kingdom. God requires and demands man's sanctification to guarantee His usefulness. Sanctification makes you as one with God. It aligns you with God. Isaiah 52:11; Psalm 15:1-5; 4:3, Ecclesiastes 9:8, Proverbs 25:4 # Beloved, you need to keep your vessel "constantly" clean to keep God "constantly" at work. God detest unclean environment. What God is looking for first is how we live, not what we do. It is our cleanliness before our activities. God has no problem working, the moment he can find clean vessels to work through, nothing less than pure vessels is acceptable to him. # Dear friends, Until you are cleaned up, God will show up will not show up. Hear what God told Moses to do before He would appear. Exodus 19:10-11 (KJV) 10 And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes, 11 And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai. # Daily cleansing is the guarantee for daily usefulness. Until you are cleaned up, you can't be fit for the master use. Whatever service you render with a "filthy garment" is not acceptable before God. When you yield yourself to Him daily via Prayer, study and meditation, He will keep purging you! 2 Timothy 2:19-22 (KJV) 19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. 21 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. # FURTHER SCRIPTURE FOR MEDITATION PS 24:3-4, Zechariah 3:1-8 #PRAYER Father, please clean me up and give me grace to yield to your purging process daily in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! MONDAY, 16/10/2017 #TOPIC: SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH TO BRING FORTH! #TEXT: 1 Chronicles 16:11 (KJV) Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually. Psalms 105:4 (BBE) Let your search be for the Lord and for his strength; let your hearts ever be turned to him. 1 Chronicles 29:12 (BBE) Wealth and honour come from you, and you are ruler over all, and in your hand is power and strength; it is in your power to make great, and to give strength to all. #MESSAGE: # For destiny to be brought forth, supernatural strength must be engaged. Just like a woman ready to deliver of a baby, what determines the success is the level of strength available at her disposal to push forth. ( Isaiah 66: # Beloved, It is not the oppositions, the enemies or the adversaries that count, but what counts is the level of strength you have access to. Proverbs 24:10 (KJV) If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. The scripture is not talking about your natural strength, your natural strength can't go beyond your physical world. (1 Samuel 2:9b (BBE) ............ for by strength no man will overcome) and don't forget that "we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but .........Ephesians 6:12 (KJV) # For you to succeed and fulfill destiny in this life, you need supernatural strength. # God is the source of supernatural strength, when you access Him, you access strength! And the word of God is the strongest channel of supernatural strength, when you eat His word, you encounter supernatural strength. Just the same way food gives strength to our physical body. His word is the spiritual food we eat to gain spiritual strength. Psalms 104:15 (KJV) And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart. # The bread Elijah ate in the wilderness was a supernatural bread that carried him for 40 days. ( 1 Kgs. 19:6- ![]() And Jesus (the Word of God) is that bread that Elijah ate, hear what Jesus said in John 6:50-51 (KJV) 50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. 51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. # Hear what Apostle Paul said about eating the word and prevailing; Colossians 3:16a(KJV) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. 1 John 2:14 (KJV) I have written unto you, fathers, because ye have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the wicked one. # Friends, if you want to overcome, prevail and bring forth, go for the WORD; and go deeper, enough of the scriptural confessions without revelation. Super revelation of the word brings super strength. Revelation connotes strength, the more REVELATION you have, the more ELEVATION you attain! Proverbs 24:5 (KJV) A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength. #PRAYER Heavenly Father, give me grace to eat your word daily unto revelation that will make me to be strengthened and prevail in Jesus name! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTER: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! SATURDAY, 14/10/2017 #TOPIC: ON "FIRE" FOR GOD? #Text Numbers 25:6-7, 10-12 (NRSV) 6 Just then one of the Israelites came and brought a Midianite woman into his family, in the sight of Moses and in the sight of the whole congregation of the Israelites, while they were weeping at the entrance of the tent of meeting. 7 When Phinehas son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he got up and left the congregation. Taking a spear in his hand, 10 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying: 11 "Phinehas son of Eleazar, son of Aaron the priest, has turned back my wrath from the Israelites by manifesting such zeal among them on my behalf that in my jealousy I did not consume the Israelites. 12 Therefore say, 'I hereby grant him my covenant of peace. #MESSAGE: People are passionate or zealous about many things. We are passionate about our work, striving to succeed. We are passionate about possessions, striving to have more. We are passionate about hobbies and interests. Some are even passionate about their sports teams. Think of this… We always have enough time, energy and money for those things about which we are passionate. #Let's briefly understand the word Zeal; Webster defines the word 'Zeal' as "Eagerness and ardent interest in pursuit of something." # In our text this morning, we saw that even when others, including the priest were beclouded by the happenings in the camp, Phinehas was so sensitive/alert that he saw the strange move in the camp and did something about it. His zeal and passion for God made him not to keep quiet, sit down and watch! # Friends, the real question to you today is: are you passionate about that which is most important? Are we passionate about God? When you see things going wrong in the camp of our God ( in the church, among the brethren, when there are lapses or lack), what do you do? In Num.25:11, God speaks of "Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy." # Our Lord Jesus, our example is often described as being zealous. Is.59:17 prophesied of Him, "For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke." Titus 2:14 speaks of Jesus "Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." # The disciples understood Ps.69:9 spoke of Him, "For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me." # Beloved, do you know that Jesus' passion was His Father's will? He said in John 4:34, " My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work." # Apostle Paul also speaks of his own passion in Col.1:29, "Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily." # The Bible encourages us as believers to pursue a passionate or zealous relationship with God. # Gal 4:18; But it is good to be zealously affected always in a good thing, and not only when I am present with you. 1Co 14:12 Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church. # Our spiritual passion or zeal is like a fire. As long as we pile on the wood, the wind of the Spirit will fan the flames and the fire will be so hot even a rainstorm of adversity won't douse it. However, when we don't feed the fire it will smolder. # Beloved, Are we 'on fire' for God? If not, why not? Get on fire for God. If there is something missing in our relationship and our service to God, chances are it is our passion...our zeal! #PRAYER Heavenly Father, thank You for the grace you have given me to serve you. Lord, help me to be on fire for you at all times, let the zeal of thy house, thy kingdom and thy gospel overshadow me in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTER: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! FRIDAY, 13/10/2017 #TOPIC: GROWING UP UNTO SPIRITUAL MATURITY #TEXT: Ephesians 4:13 (LITV) until we all may come to the unity of the faith and of the full knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 1 Corinthians 13:11 (NET) When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. But when I became an adult, I set aside childish ways. Hebrews 5:12 (NET) For though you should in fact be teachers by this time, you need someone to teach you the beginning elements of God’s utterances. You have gone back to needing milk, not solid food. 2 Peter 3:18 (KJV) But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. John 9:21, 23 (NET) 21 But we do not know how he is now able to see, nor do we know who caused him to .. Ask him, he is a mature adult. He will speak for himself.” 23 For this reason his parents said, “He is a mature adult, ask him.”) #MESSAGE: Just as we want our children to grow and mature into adulthood, so our heavenly Father wants us to move beyond childish things and mature spiritually into adult disciples. # Beloved, do you know that every parent in the world is always excited/delighted when they see their children growing and maturing? God is also blessed when He sees His children making the transition from babyhood into adulthood in a spiritual sense. God wants us to move from the spiritual nursery to the spiritual battlefield. He wants us to leave the realm of milk, bibs and diapers and He wants us to enter the realm of meat, battles and devotion. Read these scriptures and be enlightened ( 1 Cot. 3:1-3; 2 Pet. 3:18; 1 John 2:12-14. ) God's plan for every one of His children is to see them all reach spiritual maturity! He just wants us to grow up! # Beloved, are you growing up? Are you embracing the channels of growth your local assembly organises? You have been saved for over 5 to 10 years and yet you still remain a baby in spiritual matters. Be challenged this morning and expose yourself to Bible school teachings, materials such as tapes and that can aid your growth into spiritual maturity. And of course, stop skipping service. # Dear friends, there's more than one way to grow up. And sometimes when we grow, we don't grow due to some deficiency. There is a malfunction in our growth. In fact, there are some people who grow normally, and then for some unexplained reason they just stop growing. # When a baby stop growing in the womb ( they call it IUGR), it gives everyone concern. The mother is worried and the health givers too are troubled. And of course, they begin to find their way around it just to manage the situation. The truth is that at this point, the baby could lack adequate oxygen supply and not feeding well, which could also cause decrease of water in amino sack. Such baby could be born pre-term. # Friends, when you refuse to grow in the things of the Lord, that is a problem, and it comes with consequence! Growth is a personal responsibility. Make up your mind to grow. One of the channels to spiritual maturity is your "Quiet time", how consistent are you? Grow up! #PRAYER Heavenly Father, please give me grace to grow as expected of me, and help me to access the right materials unto spiritual maturity in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTER: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! THURSDAY, 12/10/2017 #TOPIC: SOMETHING OUT OF NOTHING #TEXT Genesis 1:2-3, NIV “Now the earth was formless and empty…and God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light.” Isaiah 42:16 (NET) I will lead the blind along an unfamiliar way; I will guide them down paths they have never traveled. I will turn the darkness in front of them into light, and level out the rough ground. This is what I will do for them. I will not abandon them. Psalms 78:15 (NET) He broke open rocks in the wilderness, and gave them enough water to fill the depths of the sea. Psalms 107:35 (NET) As for his people, he turned a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into springs of water. Isaiah 35:6 (KJV) Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. Isaiah 43:19 (KJV) Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. #MESSAGE Beloved, do you need a miracle in your life for something that seems impossible? With man it may never be possible, but we serve the all-powerful God, and He can create something out of nothing! He can make a way when there seems to be no way and open doors that seemed closed forever! # Genesis tells us that in the beginning, God created the heavens and earth, but before He spoke the world into existence, it was formless and void. If God can make the world out of nothing, He can take the empty places in your life and create something beautiful, too! He can speak light into your darkest hour. He can take your formless dreams and give them shape. He can resurrect your dormant gifts and talents! He can make your crooked places straight. He can bring a hero out of your zero. Hallelujah! # Dear friends, you need to remember that you are created in the image of Almighty God. So there is power in your words, and there is power when you are in agreement with Him. All you need to do to agree with Him is to start saying what God says about your situation. Speak life to your broken dreams today. Speak hope into the hopeless places. Keep an attitude of faith and expectancy because He will turn things around for you and create something out of nothing for you soonest! #PRAYER Father, I trust that You are willing and able to make a way for me where there seems to be no way in my life. Lord, help me to always speak Your words of truth and life into every situation in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTER: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! WEDNESDAY, 11/10/2017 #TOPIC: ENRICHING CONNECTIONS (PT. 2) #TEXT:Genesis 12:4 (KJV) So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: Genesis 13:6-7, 9, 11 (KJV) 6 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together. 7 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram's cattle and the herdmen of Lot's cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land. 9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. 11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. #MESSAGE: Friends, do you know that Lot became extra baggage for Abraham, and until there was separation between them, Abraham couldn't go further? Genesis 13:14 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: # Whatever connection you have that is not enriching, should be shut down. You can't afford to continue the journey of life with relationships that tells on your destiny and hampering your fulfilment in life. # Yesterday, we told us that it is your choice to allow or discontinue such connections having convinced it's a wrong one. Hear me again, any connection that is not enriching is worthy of separation, learn from our father Abraham. Don't allow extra baggage in your life, such that draws you back and weighs you down. # Many of us have filled our life with wrong people, thereby leaving little or no space for the right people to come in. # Beloved, I want to recognize this today that not everyone can go where God is taking you. God only called Abraham, but he took Lot along out of pity. You have to connect with people who understand your destiny and can call forth your seeds of greatness, and not hypocrites who pushes you up only to remove the ladder having added to your luggage. You don't have time to spend on people who are always pushing you down, telling you what you can't do, or who refuse to give you their approval/support no matter how hard you try. # Life is too short to drag people along. If you will get the wrong people out of your life, then God will help you make the right and enriching connections so you can fulfill the destiny He has in store for you. #PRAYER Father, open my eyes to see the connections that is not meant for my lifting. Help me to discern the right connections You have for me. Give me courage to separate myself from any connection that is not enriching in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTER: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! MONDAY, 09/10/2017 #TOPIC: YOU DON'T NEED THEIR APPROVAL! #TEXT: “For what if some did not believe? Shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?” Romans 3:3, KJV. Genesis 37:5 (NET) Joseph had a dream, and when he told his brothers about it, they hated him even more. #MESSAGE: Many of us are living our life by the opinions of men. We quickly trash our God given plans just because somebody is not approving it. I was once a victim, i put aside the revealed plan of God for me as touching my career just because somebody i respected so much was not in support of it. # Friends, have the opinions of others caused you to water down your dreams also? There will always be critics and naysayers in life. One of the most important things you can learn is that other people don’t have to believe in you in order for your dreams to come to pass. If they don't believe in your dreams just because it look unrealistic or you look too small to have such dreams, don't be discouraged, take your dreams elsewhere, but know that it is not in their power to fulfil it. # Beloved, they might not believe your dreams, you are not the first, even Joseph's brother didn't believe him but yet that dream was fulfilled because it was God given. When God also gave Noah the dream of the ark, nobody believed him. The ark project look too unrealistic to them, he went round town and yet nobody believe him even his son-in-law did believe him. And yet Noah commence the project because he was sure of what God told him, their opinion couldn't stop Noah. Genesis 6:13-14, 22 Dear friends, hear me; they were not there when God gave you that vision, how come you need their approval to commence or drive it? I have come to tell you this morning that it is time you believe in yourself, believe in what you conceived from God, believe Him to fulfill it. # Listen to me this morning, other people don't set the limits for your life—you do. Remember it is your life and not their life. It's not what others say about you that affects your life, it's what you say and believe about yourself. In today's verse, the apostle Paul is saying, “It doesn't matter if other people don't believe. Their unbelief is not going to keep me from believing in my dreams.” When God puts a promise in your heart, it's not up to other people to bring it to pass, it's up to you! You don't need everyone to validate you. You have to follow the voice of God for yourself and allow Him to order your steps! # Hear this shocker; Whenever you seek Godly counsel, it will never tell you to trash your dream but rather encourage you and help you to know when to launch or which part to start with. #PRAYER Father, thank You for another day to see Your goodness in my life. Help me to see myself the way You do. Help me to see the plans You have for me so that I can be empowered to fulfill my destiny in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTER: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! SATURDAY 07/10/2017 #TOPIC: DWELLING IN HIS PRESENCE. #TEXT: "Thou will shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for ever more". ( Ps. 16:11) Nahum 1:5 (KJV) The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. #MESSAGE: One of the purpose of dwelling in His presence is for you to create a divine radiation zone of the manifest presence of God around you so much so that, it will affect everyone around you, be it in your School, Business place, Home, Work e.t.c. # Let me show you something in the book of Act of the apostles, "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned (uneducated) and ignorant men ( untrained), they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them ( they realized), that they had been with Jesus". (Acts 4:13) Peter and John were naturally timid people because they were not educated but when they had dwelled in His presence for long, boldness from His presence robbed off on them forever. # Dear friends, do you also know that Peter's shadow healed those that were sick and oppressed? ( Acts 5:15-16). Yes, because he had stayed long in His presence and contacted POWER. May you receive the grace to love His presence everyday in the Mighty Name of Jesus! # Beloved, desire His presence. The more you dwell in His presence, the more of His power and glory you contact such that will bring deliverance to you and others through you. # NOTE; When you dwell and carry enough of the presence of God in your life, people will smell God's fragrance around you. ( you become irresistible, undeniable) # Dwelling in His presence is a daily need, not weekly ( appearing in church on Sundays) or periodically. ( Matt 6:11) Your quiet time is the best way to become a carrier of His presence. To the user of this devotional, do not stop using it daily, each day you use it, you secure His presence. #PRAYER Father, help me to love and dwell long in your presence, long enough to carry your divine presence/unction on a daily basis such that will help me and everyone around me in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTRE: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! FRIDAY, 06/10/2017 TOPIC: GIVING GOD YOUR BEST! #TEXT: 2 Samuel 24:24 (KJV) And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy it of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth COST ME nothing. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. John 12:3 (BBE) Then Mary, taking a pound of perfumed oil of great GREAT VALUE, put it on the feet of Jesus and made them dry with her hair: and the house became full of the smell of the perfume. #MESSAGE: # God does not just request the best, He deserves the best. Whatever you want to give to/do for God this year, let it be the best and not inferior or remnants as it were. Remember Cain and Abel? though both of them gave to God, Abel's own was accepted while Cain own was rejected. Why? Abel selected the fattest of the sheep, giving his best to God but Cain felt there was no need of selecting the best since they are still going to burn them in sacrifice. Genesis 4:3-8 (BBE) # Giving God your best is not limited to your offerings as some people believe, but it also include your time, energy and talents. # Our mother in faith, Rev. Mrs. Eghosa Eghianruwa Goody-Ogwama, once shared a testimony with us of how (when she was in school) she would go to fellowship exhausted having spent better part of her energy in school activities. She said one day God spoke to her to begin to reserve her energy for Him, such that would make her active and useful whenever she attends fellowship. God told her He needed the "best" of her energy and she quickly adjusted. # Beloved friends, Just like Abel, David, Mary, and Rev. Eghosa, you need to begin to give God your best! # God doesn't take or accept anything less than the best. Hear what God says in Malachi 1:7-8, 13-14 (KJV) 7 Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible. 8 And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts. 13 Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD. 14 But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen. # I discovered this long time ago, that's why no one can stop me from striving to give my God my best at all times. #NOTE; In every area of your service and obligation to God , STRIVE to give HIM your BEST! # UNTIL YOU GIVE HIM YOUR BEST, YOU DON'T DESERVE HIS BEST. #PRAYER Father, give me grace to engage the best of my time, energy and finance for the kingdom advancement always in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTER: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! THURSDAY 05/10/2017 #TOPIC: FRUIT BEARING BELIEVERS #TEXT: "But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundred fold, some sixty fold, some thirty fold"- (Mtt.13:23) #MESSAGE: # The word of God is a seed according to Mk.4:14. It is an incorruptible seed - 1Pet.1:23/25. When it is sown in a good ground, it is bound to bear fruit after its kind - Gen.1:11/12; Mtt.13:23. Whenever the word read or heard is understood, then it is sown into a good ground which must bear fruits accordingly. # We hear with our ears, but understand with our heart. Because the understanding of what we hear varies, that is why our fruit bearing capacity equally varies accordingly. We don't bear fruits at the same level due to our level of understanding, thus some 100 fold, some 60 fold, while some 30 fold. # Dear friends, hear this; It is your UNDERSTANDING that determines what you BELIEVE and what you PRACTISE ultimately. Whatever you understand in the Word that will be beneficial to you, you will end up believing/practising it which will eventually bear fruit. Think about the Ethiopian Eunuch, as soon as he understood the word sown into his life by Philip, the outcome was the fruit of salvation as it were - Acts.8:27 - 38. # Hear God's servant; Bishop Joseph Goody Ogwama, "You can't practise what you don't believe and you can't believe what you don't understand". #NOTE; Your level of understanding of the word determines the level of your fruit bearing. # Practising the word is another dimension of planting or sowing of the word. And every planter/sower does so with an expectation(hope) of harvest (i.e fruit bearing) season -1Cor.9:10. # Hear this: planting season precedes fruit-bearing season - Gen.8:22. Beloved, when your harvest/fruits appear, then we will know what kind of seed you have sown via the kind of tree you've planted - "for the tree is known by his fruit"(Mtt.12:33c). The fruit you're bearing is a direct pointer to the word you've been planting or practising. # Be wise - If you don't like the fruit you're bearing, then change your seed (i.e what you're practising based on the word you're hearing) - Gal.6:7- 9. #PRAYER Father, give me understanding of your word, so as to sow/plant it into all my endeavors and bear fruits thereby. I receive grace to be a fruit bearing believer via the application of your word In Jesus Mighty Name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTER: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! WEDNESDAY 04/10/2017 #TOPIC: SPIRITUAL BEARING #TEXT: Rm. 9:16. (KJV) For it is not of him that willeth nor of him that runneth but of God that showeth mercy Psalms 1:1-3 (KJV) 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. #MESSAGE: Friends, do you know that your strong will is not enough to command great results, neither is your strong desire/drive adequate to make real marks in the race of life? Until you get your Spiritual Bearing right, you can't make any significant lasting impact in life. # Beloved, you need God's will and His grace to make things happen and to enjoy prophetic height, and this is determined by the level of the relationship (spiritual bearing) you have with Him. Hear Him; "Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it; except the Lord keep the city, the watchmen waketh but in vain." ( Ps. 127:1) # So commanding great results in life will not only rely on your great skills, or your smartness, or your physical and financial strength but on God. "...................for by strength shall no man prevail. (1 Sam. 2:9) # Hear this; To be up and get to your God's desired height for you in life, it requires that God takes a place of priority in your life as never before. ( Jer. 29:11) # Friends, if you must scale heights and fulfill destiny in this world, you must get your Spiritual Bearing right! Getting your Spiritual Bearing right will not only help/make you to get to the TOP, it will also teach you how to stay at the TOP. # Getting your Spiritual Bearing right means that you must develop a heart that pants after God, and make Him your ultimate focus. (Ps. 42:1) #NOTE: God has to be your " FIRST LOVE" if you must be a "first class believer that commands great results. FURTHER SCRIPTURES FOR MEDITATION (Matt. 6:33). (Ps. 33:20) #PRAYER Lord, help me to get my spiritual bearing right so as to command great results in life In Jesus Mighty Name! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTER: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY! TUESDAY, 03/10/2017 #TOPIC: WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? #TEXT: “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has delivered from the hand of the adversary.” Psalm 107:2, AMPC Joel 3:10 (KJV) .............: let the weak say, I am strong. Job 22:28-29 (KJV) 28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways. 29 When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. Numbers 14:28 (NET) Say to them, ‘As I live, says the Lord, I will surely do to you just what you have spoken in my hearing. #MRSSAGE: Beloved, do you know that you are a product of your sayings? If you are truly redeemed, it will reflect in your words, and you will not be speaking negative things into your life. "Say ye to the righteous" starts with you speaking it into your life first. # Observe our first text today, you will notice that the scripture doesn’t say, “Let the redeemed of the Lord think so.” Or, “Let the redeemed believe so.” Of course, it’s important to think right and believe right, but something supernatural happens when we open our mouths and declare a thing. # Hear me, you don’t even have to say it to anyone else until it possess you, you can just say it to yourself while driving to work, while in the kitchen or in the shower—you can say, “The economy may be low, but I am blessed. I am prosperous. I will lend and not borrow.” “I may have had some setbacks, but I know those setbacks are a setup for a comeback! This is still going to be my best year so far. The favor of God is turning things around for me.” As you are saying these, you are prophesying (into) your future. # Dear friends, be reminded; when you say what the Lord has done and is yet to do for you, when you declare that you are redeemed and that you believe in your inheritance in Christ, you are opening the door for God to move on your behalf. # The scripture tells us that He watches over His Word to perform it. When you declare His Word, when you speak His promises, He is faithful to fulfill them and lead you into victory all the days of your life! # So friends, what are you saying? (#NOTE; For better insight, i encourage you to get my father's book. YOUR MOUTH, YOUR DESTINY by Rev. Anthony Akinmoyo) #PRAYER: Father, thank You for delivering me and setting me free. I will declare Your goodness. I will declare Your promises! I will declare Your favor so that I can live the good life You have prepared for me in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
LIFEWAY CHRISTIAN CENTER: #DAILY #DEVOTIONAL THE WORD FOR TODAY FRIDAY, 29/09/2017 #TOPIC: THE NAME OF JESUS! (2) #TEXT: – Acts 4:12 (KJV) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved Acts 3:16 (KJV) And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. #MESSAGE: Welcome to today's devotional! It is important i state this morning that the name of Jesus Christ is not a magic word as some considered it to be. The power is not even in saying words, but in understanding and believing all that the name of Jesus Christ signifies. # His name represents all of His finished work on the cross, fulfilling God's plan of redemption and salvation, victory over sin, death, and over the devil's entire realm. # When the name of Jesus Christ is invoked, it carries all of the power and distinction God gave to it. God raised Jesus from the dead, elevated Him to His right hand, and gave Jesus a name above "every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come." (Ephesians 1:21) # Friends, you just have to believe in His name and hold on to His name. First of all, you need good understanding of this name, follow by your faith. It is your faith in this name that activates the power therein. # The name of Jesus is so powerful. But the ignorance of it is robbing many of God's blessings and fulfilment in life. The enemy will do anything to keep man in the dark, in the ignorance of the delivery of Jesus name so that he can continue to oppress him. The truth is that the power in the name of Jesus brings deliverance from all oppression of the devil and delivers dominion to mankind, but man must know how to engage His name to activate the tremendous power it carries! # Stop using His name in ignorance. You need good understanding of His name! #PRAYER: Father, thank You for the privilege to engage your Son's name. Lord, give me better and deeper understanding of this name in Jesus mighty name. Amen! |
