Christianity EtcRe: What Do You Understand In Romans 8:33 by nicemuyoo: 7:08pm On Dec 31, 2017
Giving to your pastor is just like giving to any child of God you are all brothers.
No pastor was paid or put on any form of payment. They just get support as people feel to help.
The double honour does not mean double pay it means held in honour and high esteem. Peter said widows should be honoured as well does that mean they are on salary NO!!
"Double honor" does not necessarily mean double pay because the verses Paul quoted in verse 18 do not emphasize anything being doubled. The emphasis is simply on recognizing their excellence in faithfully doing their work for the Lord. How that recognition is expressed is up to each congregation and as God prospers them. But as for the excellent elder and teacher, his motivation should always be what Peter said in his first letter:

So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. (1st Peter 5:1-4)
Why do clergy want to monetise everything in scriptures this practice was started by Rome the apostate church.

AIG07:
Hello everyone! I hardly comment on religious section and I seldomly visit it due to the kind of divisions I see and the inability of parties to resolve their differences due to different views/interpretation given to the WORD.

But today, I feel like asking questions and I hope you people will do justice to it.
Here are they.
1. What is Faith?
2. How does one have faith?
3. What are the Laws?
4. Does the Law and Commandment mean the same thing?
5. What does it mean to Fulfill the Law and how can One fulfill the Law?
6. How Can One be Saved?
7. What's the difference between been Saved and been BornAgain?
8. What is work(the one mostly found in the Bible)?

Note: kindly support your answers with Bible Quotes and make them Concise. THANKS.

The justification Paul was talking about is not in the future, it is when you repent make a resolution from your heart that you accept Yahushua and to walk in righteousness. Then a condemned soul is justified before God. But if he deviates from the part of righteousness ( righteous deeds) and continues in it then that soul would be lost as Jesus rightly said after they replied him on the last day " sir in your name prayed and cast out many Demons, (mind you this are pastors/ christians not using charms to conduct deliverance.)
But Jesus replied depart from me you that practice lawlessness( you that work in iniquity) they lived a life void of righteous works.

I expected your thoughts on Romans 8:33!
Our justification is not an on-going process. It is concluded once we place our faith in Christ. Read Acts 13:39 and Hebrews 10:10.
Christianity EtcRe: What Do You Understand In Romans 8:33 by nicemuyoo: 1:57pm On Dec 31, 2017
Every Christian should know that your salvation starts with yahshua. I made that clear as stated in revelation. Now this faith in Jesus cannot be separated from good works. If you have faith in Jesus and no righteous works then you simply DO NOT HAVE FAITH IN JESUS.
NOW THAT; YOU CANNOT EXPLAIN AWAY.

5solas:
grin grin
At least I expected your thoughts on Romans 8:33!
Also you don't even understand what Paul meant by Romans 3:31!
Read the whole chapter. He had just done what we are trying to do, establishing that we cannot be justified by the law and that faith in Christ alone, saves-apart from good works (without good works). Verse 31 is a placement of good works where they belong - a product of faith. In the same way we say to you, good works do not play a role in our justification (salvation) but our faith bring good works. We have no objection to good works as far as you do not credit them for being the cause of salvation. When we put our faith in Christ, good works become easy to do. Roman's 3:31.
Read Romans 4 and contrast Abraham's justification with that you painted above.

Paul received support for basic necessities when he needed it but not luxury!! You have to be very clear here.
The same Paul boosted we are not like many who peddle the gospel for riches.
The same Paul said whoever does not work let him not eat!!
Paul was a travelling minister because of this, he needed support for basic necessities not luxury comfort.
The money contributions were for saints in other towns that were lacking food materials or facing persecutions. They needed it to survive. We are talking of people that are in poverty and lack here so congregation that were better of donated to help as the need arises.
So we know exactly what scriptures is saying and historical facts confirms it.
Nobody was collecting tithe here and no stationary ministers were living luxury life off the back of any church member here!!!!
Stationary ministers work with their hands folks. People give them donations as they would give to any other Christian brother nothing special.
Peter warned against what we have today as he wrote and warned not to;
1. Make merchandise of the congregation and profit from gospel work
2. Do not Lord it over the congregation Yahweh put you in charge of as a coordinator.
3. Peter emphasised not do the work of ministering for monetary gains or profit, but for your reward on the last day.
 2 Peter 2:3 and 1peter 5.

If Peter was alive today pastor/ bishop would condemn him and try to explain their way to keep milking and making slavery of the flock. They would never yield to the teachings of yahshua that says;
Leaders in the world system lord it over their surbodinates but not so with you, are all equal before God. No master/ father amongst you all, and no one is on a higher pedestal than another!!

Jesus, Paul, Peter, james all warned against merchandising and profiting from the Gospel. Making a money earning career off the Gospel of salvation!!! Which none of the disciples and early church members who shed their blood to keep their faith did!!! This is complete ABUSE AND SOME PASTORS/ BISHOPS ARE STILL TWISTING SCRIPTURES TO JUSTIFY IT.

1To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: 2Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; 3not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

[qquote author=damosky12 post=63764733]All Christians must read this.

Daddy Freeze and his ignorant illogicality concerning the local church..
In his video interview on Linda Ikeji TV, the above mentioned personality took a swipe at the local church when he mentioned that folks shouldn't give to the church because God doesn't dwell in temples and he quoted Acts 7:48, 'Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet,'.
He stated giving shouldn't be made to the church and especially men who preside there in.
This betrays his ignorance of what the church is.Much more this is gross and crass error
The word 'church' is from the Greek word 'ekklesia' which means 'a congregation of called out ones'.
The basis of this congregation is faith in the gospel of Jesus. Thus, by identification, the church is called the body of Christ (Ephesians 1:23, 1 Corinthians 12:12-28).
Furthermore there’s is a who the church is ,believers in Christ .
And for emphasis, there’s a where .
My dear brother Daddy Freeze further opines ,The where isn’t important ,by calling folks listening to his “ online services “ via YouTube ,instagram etc as more important than “ buildings “ etc ,which he contemptuously calls church gatherings
For starters church has a where,a gathering.
Acts 2:1 KJV
[1] And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
This had definite leadership .
Acts 2:41-42 KJV
[41] Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. [42] And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.
‘This wasn’t virtual but literal .
This vital function of the church is too conspicuous in the book of acts not to be noticed .
Also in the epistles
1 Corinthians 5:4 KJV
[4] In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Gather together ,this is literal .
This was all over the epistles
The House of God is both the believer and our gathering together
1 Timothy 3:15 KJV
[15] But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
This is obviously gatherings .
All Epistles are letters written to local churches ,ie churches in specific locations or leaders or personalities within them .
To attempt to sustain a campaign against gatherings physically and promote an on online revolution is heretic .
This attempt by Daddy Freeze is bound to make a ship wreck of many and should be opposed very well and doctrinally so
1 Timothy 1:19-20 KJV
[19] Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
[20] Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
The church is where the Lordship of Jesus Christ is exercised.
Let's see some scriptures on how the church is organized.
Ephesians 4:8-11, 'Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.) And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachersEphesians 4:12-13 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: '.
Thus, we have leadership in the body with oversight in view (particularly the pastor-teacher).
Let's see their responsibilities. 1 Timothy 5:17-18, 'Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer [is] worthy of his reward.
They are to RULE WELL. This implies oversight via doctrine.
Hence, within the church, the Lord has given certain men responsibility for the oversight of the body.
Hebrews 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that [is] unprofitable for you.
So then, how does giving work in the church and should those that have oversight be given to?
The answers to these questions are the crux of this write-up.
Let's see both doctrine and practice from the scriptures. Romans 15:26, 'For it hath pleased them of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints which are at Jerusalem.'
The poor saints! Not merely the poor.
2 Corinthians 8:1-3, 'Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. For to [their] power, I bear record, yea, and beyond [their] power [they were] willing of themselves;'.
Their poverty didn't preclude them from giving.
Galatians 6:10, 'As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all [men], especially unto them who are of the household of faith.' 1 Timothy 6:18, 'That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;'.
We see this practised in the book of Acts; Acts 2:44-45, 'And all that believed were together, and had all things common; And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all [men], as every man had need.
Acts 4:34-35, 'Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid [them] down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.'
Such givings were received by the apostles..this deals a technical knockout to our brother's assertion.
His submission is an error
Also his campaign to distribute same in the name of scriptures .
This was done orderly ,the church leadership was responsible for this
Daddy Freeze doesn’t qualify here
How about giving to ministers?
1 Corinthians 9:7-14 Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? Or saith he [it] altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, [this] is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. If we have sown unto you spiritual things, [is it] a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? If others be partakers of [this] power over you, [are] not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live [of the things] of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.'
We see here that it's the right of ministers to be materially supported.
Galatians 6:6, 'Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.' Yet another injunction on material support for ministers. We should note that the basis of this support is their work, not their financial situation.
Apostle Paul worked and supported others materially yet received support from brethren (Philippians 4:11-19).
Thus , we see copious evidence in the epistles and in the book of Acts concerning giving to the church congregation and giving to ministers.
This is a clear fact
A definite poison in our dear brothers submissions depicts a fellow who wants to “ speak his mind “ rather than enlighten and renew it ( Romans 12:2,Ephesians 4:23,Ephesians 1:17),and season his speech and be slow to speak (Ephesians 5:3-4,James1:19)
These are traits of one who peter says are unruly and unstable
2 Peter 3:16 KJV
[16] As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
Using scriptures with such unlearned mind is damaging .
He would only succeed at holding some immature captivated with oratory ,but will damage their faith ,with such contempt for the local church .
This is why he should kindly find a local church which doesn’t pay tithes at least but yet teaches the Gospel, wholesomely ,his further attempt at speaking with tongues was so infantile and ridiculous ,he needs help !
Hope he listens and hope his fans and hailers would be sincere with him .[/quote]

Permanent salvation by faith alone is a doctrine of the antichrist- the lawless one. The one in whose name the law of God is abolished- that is done away with.
Abraham was said to have faith which led to his righteousness . Folks abrahams faith is actually his good works.he walked before God and was obedient to his commandments( moral laws) that has been in place before Moses time.
He worshipped Yahweh, he never went about committing adultery, robbing people of their money, etc. He lived a life of Good works, walked blamless before God while the whole world was living in sin!!
Joseph had faith when he refused to sleep with portiphar's wife.
Noah had faith so he build an ark devoting time, energy, resources etc towards what God order him to do and also lived a righteous life.
Folks faith means Good works and righteous deeds. But preachers of today has changed it to mean wishful believes to attain worldly riches and money or lust of the eyes, flesh etc. Now this is a doctrine of the antichrist a man of SIN a man in whose name the law of Yahweh is abolished promoting LAWLESSNESS in all the churches.
Some christians/ pastors/ bishops would say to Yahushua on the last day - sir in your name we cast out demons and prayed but He would rely them, I never knew you DEPART FROM ME YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS( DECLARING AND TEACHING THAT MY FATHER'S PERFECT LAWS HAS BEEN ABOLISHED WHEN I CLEARLY STATED I HAVE NOT COME TO ABOLISH THE LAW OF MY FATHER BUT TO FUFILL- AS IN ESTABLISH IT.)
Paul said do we nullify the law? NO! ON THE CONTRARY WE ESTABLISH THE LAW WITH IS GOOD AND PERFECT)
James and john warned against this doctrine of once save by faith alone forever saved making it clear that faith without righteous works is dead!!!
Those that are saved are those that have THE FAITH OF YAHSHUA AND THE RECORD OF OBEDIENCE TO THE COMMANDMENT OF YAHWEH.
I DON'T KNOW WHY CHRISTIANS REFUSE TO YIELD TO THE HOLY SCRIPTURES EXCEPT SOOTHING WORDS just like Paul predicted would happen in the last days
Folks it's TIME pastors/ bishops start teaching scriptures and leave behind antichrist doctrines and all LAWLESS teachings
Christianity EtcRe: What Do You Understand In Romans 8:33 by nicemuyoo: 9:49am On Dec 31, 2017
Heresy!!!!!!
Jesus says you would account for every word and act you do on judgement day!!
Jesus said to the seven churches I know your works..... repent or else....you know the rest.
John said do not let anyone deceive you he who is righteous practice righteousness and vice versa.
James said faith( your believe) with out works ( you acts/ actions/ behavior/ choices on a daily bases ) is DEAD!!! . Show me your faith by your works!!!.
Jesus said I come quickly to reward everyone according to the works of their hands
Jesus said not everyone that call on me Lord, Lord, would be saved on last day but those who do the will of my father!! ( WORKS OF OBEDIENCE).
they would reply Jesus but Lord!!! In your name we prayed and cast out Demons, Jesus would reply on last day go away!! FROM ME YOU ALL THAT PRACICE LAWLESSNESS ( not obedient to the laws of God in your daily life ( moral laws))

You see Africans like deceiving themselves being fed stagnant water, contaminated water in church every Sunday!!!! Just like Jeremiah said.

God said to Israel, “Ye have wearied the Lord with your words. Yet ye say, Wherein have we wearied him? When ye say, Every one that doeth evil is good in the sight of the Lord, and he delighteth in them; or, Where is the God of judgment?” (Mal. 2:17)

There are many today who think that they can be right with God while they are still practicing unrighteousness. They don’t believe that they need to repent of their sins in obedience to the gospel in order to be right with God. These religious sinners will comfort themselves in their impenitence by telling themselves, “I am righteous before God in my position even while I am unrighteous in my practice.”

This type of theological excuse for impenitence is refuted by the Apostle John who said, “Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous” (1 Jn. 3:7). To believe that you can be righteous, while you are practicing unrighteousness, is a deception. Jesus didn’t die so we could continue to practice unrighteousness. He died that we would be righteous in our practice. As Paul said, “God sending his own Son…. That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit” (Rom. 8:3-4).

Backsliders in Israel were saying “The Lord seeth us not” (Eze. 8:12), and backsliders in the Church are saying the same thing today. I have heard many people say, “When God looks at me, He doesn’t see my sin. He sees the righteousness of Christ instead.” This type of talk, which ought to be shocking to our ears, is common place within the Church. This type of theological nonsense, which is a blatant denial of God’s omniscience, is refuted all throughout the Bible (Ps. 33:13-15; Prov. 15:3; Eze. 8:12; 9:9; Jer. 32:19; Job 34:21; Mal. 2:17; Heb. 4:13; Rev 2:2, 2:9; 2:13; 2:19; 3:1; 3:8; 3:15). “The Lord looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men. From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth. He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works” (Ps. 33:13-15). “For the eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good” (Prov. 15:3). “For the eyes of the Lord are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings” (Job 34:21). “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and open unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do” (Heb. 4:13).

Jesus Christ did not come to somehow blind God or to take away His omniscience. God is not some fool in the sky who doesn’t know what is going on. When God looked at the churches in Revelation, He did not say “I see the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ. I look on you and see blameless perfection.” He said to them, “I know thy works” (Rev. 2:2; 2:9; 2:13; 2:9; 3:1; 2:8; 2:15). And He said, “be zealous therefore, and repent” (Rev. 3:19). But those who don’t want to repent of their sins dream that God does not even see their sin anymore.
Christianity EtcRe: What Do You Understand In Romans 8:33 by nicemuyoo: 9:23am On Dec 31, 2017
What it says is very simple once you repent and confess tour faith in yahshua. The blood makes atonement for your sins. Now you needs works to stay saved. Righteous works / as James rightly corrected faith without works is dead. Show me your works e.g. kindness, holiness, obedience etc and I would show you your faith.

5solas:
I am so happy for you. The consequence of this justification is that we cannot lose our salvation. You see how Roman's 8 supports this not just vs 33 . We are saved because of that imputed righteousness of Christ that is often called the righteousness of faith as opposed to that of the law.
Christianity EtcRe: Black People Will Inherit Israel, Says The Bible by nicemuyoo: 1:25am On Dec 31, 2017
Yahweh took for himself a people called Isrealites to be a nation of priest to teach the world about him his laws and turn them from idol worship.
But the kept falling into sin . He called them a stiff-neck people. After years of sin-repentance cycle he finally made good His threat to them . Jesus wept for them saying as he new what was coming. He prophesied the final destruction of isreal nation of 70AD.
Amos prophecy was to inform them he was going to punish them severely because of their generational sin and because he only revealed himself to them and not other nations of the earth.
Because he is slow to anger so he assured them this time finally you would realise that he is not threatening in vain( curses of Deuteronomy).
Still they persist in wickedness.

TomHagen:
Kindly explain the last two verses of that chapter will you?
Christianity EtcRe: Black People Will Inherit Israel, Says The Bible by nicemuyoo: 10:05pm On Dec 30, 2017
Amos 3:2
You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

Ezekiel 6:10 And they will know that I am the LORD; I did not threaten in vain to bring this calamity on them.
Continued disobedience finally God made good His threat.
Folks the Roman government(The beast) put an end to the ISREALITE state with great slaughter. Millions killed. Millions sold into slavery, millions also escaped to inner Africa beyond the rivers of Ethiopian where the Roman empire has no jurisdiction. Where they settled. Until the Arab slave trade began. The Arabs called the Isrealites in Africa the yahoodee people ( a people cursed by their God) Then followed by transatlantic trade.

TomHagen:
When did God say that?
Christianity EtcRe: Black People Will Inherit Israel, Says The Bible by nicemuyoo: 9:42pm On Dec 30, 2017
Well have a read what Joel has to say;
The Lord Judges the Nations

3 1 “For behold, iin those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, 2 I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. And I will enter into judgment with them there, on behalf of my people and my heritage Israel, because they have scattered them among the nations and have divided up my land, 3 and have cast lots for my people, and have traded a boy for a prostitute, and have sold a girl for wine and have drunk it ( Arab slave trade and transatlantic slave trade).
We know what it means to be a lamb of God Yahushua, but when he returns he is coming as a the LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH . then the world would know what it means to be a lion!!!
Revelation 19:12-16 Yahushua robe soaked with blood of his enemies .
Isaiah 63:1-3 garment soaked with blood like a winepresser because he redeems his beloveth and judges the nations.
Genesis 49:10-12 he washes is cloth in red wine in the blood of his enemies.

Now we are talking scriptures not church theological teachings. Folks according to scriptures blood would flow when the LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH appears in the sky. Unless you don't want to accept scriptures. Demons and spirits don't have blood we are talking humans here!!! So don't let anyone receive you.
He is no longer a lamb when he returns he is coming as a Lion an he would rule the nation's with an iron rod!!! That is what scripture saying but preachers are saying something else.

Isrealites are blacks , but not all blacks are Isrealites. The word negro is a code word for black Isrealites.
Why do you think the official flag of Nigeria has got a Jewish seal on it. The colonial masters put it there because they were Isrealites indeginous to the land called Nigeria. Do you think the British government is stupid? Stephen was taken out of the town and stoned to death because he mentioned yahuah/ Yahweh in his speak repeatedly as it is a holy name that should not be pronounced except by high priest. This was a wrong doctrine because God never said so.
Jews were under roman government so Jewish authority has no power to kill except after approval by roman authority that was why it was done outside the city. And Saul being a lawyer help justify the killers.

The roman emperor gave permission for churches to collect tithe. The church council initiated it but the emperor has to sanction it.

Ubenedictus:
hmm, the tithe wasn't introduced by an emperor, The first recorded legislation is found in a letter of the Bishops assembled at Tours, France m 567 and the canons of the Council of Macon in 585, they were conciliar decisions....
apart from that you are correct that Martin Luther was against tithe... but I never claimed he taught tithe.

I said he never claimed the Church didn't have the right to collect and distribute alms.

I never mentioned tithes in my post, you are arguing with yourself.
Christianity Etc40 Questions Tithe-teachers Should Honestly Answer Russell Earl Kelly, Phd Pt2 by nicemuyoo(op): 9:33pm On Dec 20, 2017
81. According to Matthew 23:2-3 why did Jesus tell his Jewish disciples to obey the scribes and Pharisees?

Answer: They were the current recognized authorities who sat in Moses seat to interpret the law.

82. According to Matthew 23:3-4 did the addition of herbs and spices change the tithing law into a burden?

Answer: Yes. Counting small seeds would be a great burden.

83. Did the Law command tithes from garden spices and herbs?

Answer: The tithing law did not include those items.

84. Why did Jesus tell His Jewish disciples to tithe garden spices and herbs?

Answer: They were partially responsible for allowing the scribes and Pharisees to sit in Moses seat.

85. In Matthew 8:4 why did Jesus command the Jews he healed to show themselves to the priests?

Answer: The Law was still in full effect before Calvary.

86. Why did Jesus NOT command the Gentiles he healed to show themselves to the priests?

Answer: They were not under the Law.

87. Did Jesus tell his Gentile disciples to tithe to the Temple system?

Answer: No. It would not have been allowed. It was illegal.

88. To whom does the word "you" refer in Matthew 23:23?

Answer: The scribes and Pharisees.

89. What three words in Matthew 23:23 describe its context?

Answer: "of the law"

90. Is Matthew 23:23 an Old Covenant command or a New Covenant command?

Answer: Old Covenant before Calvary.

91. Why did Jesus tell the rich young ruler and Zaccheus to give their money to the poor instead of the Temple as tithes?

Answer: Their wealth must not have been in land and animals inside Israel. Jesus was not breaking the law which required tithing.

92. Do pastors today allow visiting evangelists to tell their congregation to "sell all that you have and give it to the poor"?

Answer: Of course not. They do not tell their congregations to do this either. Again, it does not fit into their own change of God’s Word to suit their own needs.

93. Why do not pastors today command their church members to tithe garden spices as Jesus commanded in Matthew 23:23?

Answer: Again, it does not fit into their own change of God’s Word to suit their own needs. They have no consistent hermeneutic.

94. According to Luke 22:20 when did the Old Covenant end and the New Covenant begin?

Answer: The Old Covenant ended and the New Covenant began when Jesus shed His blood at Calvary.

95. According to Acts 2:42-47 and 4:32-35 did God command the disciples to share communally or did they make a freewill choice?

Answer: There is no record that Cod commanded this. It is very possible that it was done in anticipation of Christ’s imminent return.

96. According to Acts 2:42-47 and 4:32-35 were the disciples tithing to church leaders or sharing everything equally?

Answer: This is not an example of tithing. It is an example of sacrificial freewill giving at the extreme. It should not be preached as an example of tithing because everybody shared equally.

97. According to Acts 2:46 did the early church withdraw itself from worship in the Temple?

Answer: Not at all. Evidence is that they continued supporting the Temple. If they had stopped financially supporting the Temple, they would not have been allowed to use it.

98. According to Acts 15:10 did Peter argue against putting the yoke of the law on Gentile Christians?

Answer: Most definitely.

99. According to Acts 15:19-20 did James agree with Peter?

Answer: Most definitely. Yet most pastors today place their churches under the law of tithing while rejecting most of the law as irrelevant.

100. According to Acts 20:29-35 was Paul self supporting most of the time?

Answer: Yes. He even boasted about it.

101. According to Acts 20:35 did Paul expect church elders to follow his example?

Answer: Yes, but it was not a command.

102. According to Acts 20:35 whom did Jesus tell to work and give to the weak?

Answer: Church elders. This has been reversed by the modern church.

103. According to Acts 21:20 were the Christian Jews in Jerusalem still "zealous of the law"?

Answer: Yes, and this was 30 years after Calvary. The compromise of Acts 15 split the church and still required Jewish Christians to obey all of the Old Covenant Law.

104. According to Acts 21:20 is it logical to conclude that the Christian Jews in Jerusalem were still paying tithes to the Temple system?

Answer: Yes, otherwise they would not be “zealous of the law.” The Law required payment of tithes to the Levites and priests and not to gospel workers.

105. According to 1 Corinthians 9:7-14 did the vocations of soldier, herdsman, farmer, mill-grinder, temple worker and gospel worker each operate under different principles of support?

Answer: Yes. Each had its own principle.

106. Comparing 1 Cor 9:13 with Numbers 18 and Leviticus, were temple workers supported from tithes, offerings, vows, freewill gifts, portions of sacrifices and many other sources?

Answer: Yes. Far more than tithing. Levites only received the tithe while priests had many sources of income other than a tenth of the tithe.

107. Comparing 1 Cor 9:13 with Numbers 18 and Leviticus, was tithing the only "thing of the temple"?

Answer: Of course not, but this fact is ignored.

108. Referring to 1 Cor 9:14 does even so ("in the same way"wink command gospel workers to be supported by every means of support used for temple workers?

Answer: Of course not. The argument used by tithe-teachers is self-defeating. It proves too much.

109. Referring to 1 Cor 9:14 does "even so" command gospel workers to be supported by 'gospel principles' of grace and faith "in the same manner" as the previous six vocations had been supports by their own principles?

Answer: Yes. The principle refers to all vocations mentioned in verses 7 to 14.

110. Referring to 1 Cor 9:14 is it dishonest to teach that 9:13 only referred to tithing? Does not the text teach too much and destroy the tithing argument?

Answer: It is very dishonest. Paul knew that holy tithes were only for Levites and priests and could not come from Gentiles lands. Again, the text is self-defeating for tithe-teachers. It proves too much.

111. According to 1 Cor 9:12, 15-19 did Paul accept tithes as a salary?

Answer: Absolutely not. He usually did not even accept freewill offerings. As a highly educated rabbi, Paul had been taught that teaching God’s Word for pay was not the manner of rabbis.

112. Comparing 1 Cor 9:14 with 9:12, 15-19 if Jesus commanded tithing to support gospel workers, was not Paul disobeying that command?

Answer: Yes, but this fact is ignored by tithe-teachers.

113. According to 2 Cor 3:10, how much glory does the OT have in comparison to the New Covenant?

Answer: Zero glory.

114. Where is tithing repeated to the Church in New Covenant terms of grace and faith?

Answer: Nowhere. And neither are gospel workers required to forfeit land inheritance rights and obey any of the tithing statute of Numbers 18.

115. According to 1 Peter 2:9-10 has the OT priesthood been replaced by church leaders or by every believer?

Answer: By every believer. And this should have enormous implications against New Covenant tithing.

116. Referring to 1 Peter 2:9-10, how does the "priesthood of believers" affect tithing?

Answer: Believers do not tithe to themselves, plus Old Covenant priests were never commanded to tithe.

117. Were non-Levite OT prophets supported by tithes?

Answer: Absolutely not. They were either self-supported or received freewill offerings.

118. Were OT and NT Jewish synagogue rabbis supported by tithes?

Answer: No. Never. And this should be important. The synagogue system using rabbis did not replace tithing to the Temple.

119. Are NT pastors and elders supported similar to OT priests or prophets and rabbis?

Answer: The comparison is better to OT prophets and rabbis.

120. Is First Timothy 5:1-20 a discussion of discipline or pastoral salary?

Answer: Discipline.

121. According to First Timothy 5:8 are family essential needs more important than church support?

Answer: Definitely.

122. How can First Timothy 5:8 be true if the first 10% of income must be given to the church?

Answer: Both cannot be true for the Church.

123. Does "double honor" in First Timothy 5:17 refer to "double caution in discipline" or "double salary"?

Answer: The context is discipline.

124. According to First Timothy 6:6-11 should gospel workers expect to be better off financially than most?

Answer: No.

125. According to Hebrews 7:5, did the Law give the priests authority to receive tithes?

Answer: Yes.

126a. Were the OT priests also kings?

Answer: Not the HOLY Hebrew priests defined by the Law.

126b. What does Hebrews 7:8 refer to?

Answer: The priests who were still literally receiving tithes before A.D.70.

127. According to Hebrews 7:11 and Psalm 110:4 was the Messiah to be a priest-king?

Answer: Yes.

128. According to Hebrews 7:11-12 did the prophecy that the Messiah would be a priest-king necessitate a change in the law?

Answer: Yes.

129. According to Hebrews, chapters 5 to 7, was OT Melchizedek qualified to be a priest under the Law?

Answer: No.

130. According to Hebrews 7:13-17 was Jesus qualified to be a priest under the Law?

Answer: No.

131. According to Hebrews 7:18 how was the Law which also commanded tithing in 7:5 "changed" in 7:12?

Answer: It was disannulled, or abolished. It ended. It was not carried over into the New Covenant.

132. According to Hebrews 7:12, 18, why was the Law which also commanded tithing to support the Levitical priesthood "annulled" or "set aside"?

Answer: It was weak and not profitable. It had been replaced with better New Covenant principles of sacrificial giving.

133. According to Hebrews 7:16-28 was the king-priesthood of Messiah to be based on eternal moral principles?

Answer: Yes and those include sacrificial freewill giving which are written in the heart and conscience.

134. Tithing existed in most nations long before Abraham's time and those nations also practiced idolatry, child sacrifices and temple prostitution. Does the fact that tithing existed before the Law make it an eternal moral principle?

Answer: No. The HOLY tithe was only given later by special revelation to Old Covenant Israel.

135. According to the entire book of Leviticus, how can tithing be retained as a "holy" principle and almost everything else called "holy" and "most holy" in Leviticus be discarded?

Answer: By using poor principles of interpretation.

136. According to Hebrews 8:6-13 Christ's "more excellent ministry" replaced the Old Covenant on stones and paper with the New Covenant in the heart. Does a new-creation Christian know in the heart that he/she must give a ten per cent tithe to support the church?

Answer: No.

137. According to Second Corinthians 8 and 9, does a new-creation Christian know instinctively to give: freely, sacrificially, generously, joyfully, not of commandment, regularly and motivated love for God and love for lost souls?

Answer: Yes. It is part of the new creation with the indwelling Holy Spirit.

138. According to Second Corinthians 8:12-15, what is the "equality" principle of giving?

Answer: Many give much more than 10% while some cannot give that much. Yet both give sacrificially. The giving equals out.

139. According to Second Corinthians 3:10-18 which principle of giving has the blessing of the Holy Spirit?

Answer: Post Calvary New Covenant Holy Spirit blessed giving (and every other doctrine).

140. Should most affluent Christians lower their standard of living in order to give more to promote the gospel?

Answer: Yes.

140 QUESTIONS TITHE-TEACHERS
SHOULD HONESTLY ANSWER

Russell Earl Kelly, PHD
Answers Provided 5-23-22011

1. According to Genesis 14:11-16 were the spoils of war Abram received holy tithes from God's holy land? Would they have been "holy" tithes in the Law?
Answer: Of course not. There was no holy land yet. They do not fit the description of “holy” tithes under the Law and could not have been used to support the Levites and priests as Levitical tithes.
2. According to Genesis 14:18-20 and Hebrews 7:4 does the Bible say that Abram freely gave tithes of spoils of war to the priest-king Melchizedek?
Answer: No. Genesis 14:21 suggests that he was obeying the Arab law of the land which required tithes from spoils of war be given to the local king-priests.
3. According to Numbers 31:21-30 what percentage did the statute of the Law for Israel later require as a tithe from spoils of war?

Answer: One tenth of one per cent (.1%) (One half of one five hundredth): this was only one tenth of what Abram paid to Melchizedek.

4. Why did Abraham tithe 10% of spoils when the Law later required far less? What controlled his actions?

Answer: The Bible does not say “why”. Recorded tradition found in archaeology suggests it was the required law of the land throughout his world.

5. From Genesis 14:20-21 could there be another law or Arab tradition involved? Yes, No, Perhaps. Do some deep research on this.
Answer: This is repetition of previous questions. Research many commentaries for a surprise answer.

6. Would Abraham's tithe have been accepted as a holy tithe to enter the Temple?
Answer: Only that which could be purified after passing through fire. And then it could only be used for temple maintenance. Compare First Samuel 30:20-35.
7. How often did Abraham tithe?
Answer: The Bible does not record any other instance. Therefore, we really do not know.

8. Is Abraham an example of tithing personal property and tithing regularly?
Answer: Not at all. If we followed his example, we would only tithes from spoils of war and only once.
9. Is Abraham's example of giving 90% to the king of Sodom an example for Christians to follow?
Answer: Not at all. Yet tithe-preaches do not discuss this.
10. From Genesis 20 and 21 is it possible that Abraham also paid tithes to the Philistine priest-king Abimelech whom he served?
Answer: It is possible if it was required by their law. He obeyed the law of the land.
11. Referring to Genesis 28:20-22 would Jacob's tithe from Haran have been accepted as a holy tithe to enter the Temple system?
Answer: It does not fit the description of a holy tithe to be used for normal sustenance of Levites and priests.
12. Referring to Genesis 28:20-22 should we follow Jacob's example and only tithe after God has met our conditions?
Answer: No. Yet this is not discussed by tithe-teachers.
13. According to Genesis 28:20 was Jacob's tithe a freewill "vow" or a commandment of God?
Answer: A freewill vow. And there is no record that he kept the vow.
14. Is Jacob an example of tithing for Christians to follow?
Answer: Not at all.
15. How common was money, gold, silver, precious stones and shekels in Genesis?
Answer: The word “money” occurs 32 times in Genesis. Check an exhaustive concordance.
16. According to Genesis 13:2 and 20:16 did Abraham have a lot of money?
Answer: Yes. It was already an important part of that economy.
17. Was money essential for routine worship in the sanctuary?
Answer: Very much. Do your own research on the words "money" and "shekel."
18. Is it honest to teach that tithes were only food because money was not common?
Answer: No. It is dishonest and comes with dishonest ulterior motives to change God’s Word.
19. According to Exodus 19:5-6 was tithing part of God's "original plan" before the incident of the golden calf?
Answer: No. Tithing is not mentioned in Exodus. While Aaron’s house was intended to be resident priests, every Hebrew from every tribe was to be his/her own priest before God. Levitical priests were not mentioned.
20. According to Leviticus 25:3-7 no food tithe could be taken every seventh year. Why is this ignored by churches today?
Answer: Churches would have no grounds for collecting tithes every seventh year.
21. According to Leviticus 25:12-13 no food tithe could be taken every fiftieth year. Why is this ignored by churches today?
Answer: If one followed all of the OT tithing law, tithes could not be requested every 7th and 50th years.
22. According to Leviticus 27:30, 32 (and 14 other texts), tithes were only food from the land of Israel and herds inside God's holy land of Israel which God had miraculously increased. Where in the Bible --over 1400 years from Leviticus to Luke -- are tithes defined as income or money?
Answer: Nowhere. God’s definition of a holy tithe never changed.
23. According to Leviticus 27:30, 32 the tithe was the tenth of the total crop and the tenth animal. Since the word "tithe" means "tenth" when did it change to become the "first" in the Bible?
Answer: Nowhere. This is man’s change of God’s Word.
24. According to Leviticus 27:34 the first tithe was not the "best." Where in the Bible does the first whole tithe become the "best"?
Answer: Nowhere. Tithe-teachers dishonestly change God’s Word and ask for the first tenth of one’s paycheck.
25. According to Leviticus 27:34 tithing was part of the Law given only to national Israel as a unique covenant. When were the Gentiles, (pagans) or Church commanded to tithe in the Bible?
Answer: Nowhere. None qualified as tithe-payers. They were not Hebrews and they did not grow food inside God’s holy land.
26. Since only farmers and herdsmen living inside Israel produced tithes, where is the principle that says everybody was required to begin their level of giving at 10%?
Answer: Nowhere. It is a tradition of man.
27. Where does the Bible say that non-food income was tithed and that carpenters (Jesus), fishermen (Peter), tentmakers (Paul) and tradesmen tithed?
Answer: Nowhere. It is a tradition of man.
28. Did God command the pagans to tithe?
Answer. Absolutely not.
29. Would Israel have accepted tithes from the pagans or pagan lands?
Answer: No. And that should also be true today since God never changed the definition of holy tithes.
30. Although Psalm 24:1 says "The earth is the LORD's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein" this was not given as a reason to collect tithes from pagans and from lands outside of Israel. Why is that true?
Answer: Holy tithes were limited to food from God’s holy land of Israel.

31. Why don't Christians observe all of the other things called "holy" and "most holy" in Leviticus?
Answer: they say that these do not apply to the Church today because they were fulfilled or ended at Calvary.
32. Where in the Bible is the exact wording of the ordinance or statute of tithing?
Answer: Numbers 18.
33. What is the difference between tithes and first-fruits? Compare Lev 27:30-35; Num 18:13-18, 20-24; Deut 26:1-4; Neh 10:35-37; Prov 3:9.
Answer: Tithes were tenth-fruits from God’s holy land which were brought to the Levitical cities where they were needed for food per Neh 10:37b. Firstfruits were very small token offerings which were brought to the Temple and eaten by the priests on duty. See Deu 26:1-4 and Neh 10:35-37a.
34. Where are tithes equated with first-fruits in the Bible?
Answer: Nowhere. This is a tradition of man designed to scare believers into giving their first to God whether or not they had met their family essentials per First Timothy 5:8.
35. Weren't first-fruits very small token offerings from the first of the harvest?
Answer: Yes, as previously discussed.
36. OT Levites who received the first whole tithe were merely servants to the priests and later political workers. How is this principle applied in churches today?
answer: It is totally ignored.
37. OT Levites gave the best tenth of their tithe to the priests --only one per cent of the total. How is this principle observed today? See Num 18:25-28.
Answer: It is totally ignored.
38. OT priests and Levites who received the tithes were not allowed to own or inherit property. Why isn't this principle observed today (Num 18:20, 23)?
Answer: Modern tithe-teachers ignore every single OT principle concerned with tithing. They only apply their own re-definition.
39. The OT tithe was never used for mission work to evangelize the pagans. What biblical principle authorizes it for missions today?
Answer: None. This is a tradition of man.
40. According to Deuteronomy 12 and 14:23-26 a festival tithe was to be eaten in the streets. Why is this tithe principle ignored by churches today?
Answer: Their idea of tithing is not biblical.
41. According to Deuteronomy 14:26 some festival tithes could be turned into alcoholic strong drinks. Why is this principle ignored by churches today?
Answer: It does not fit into their change of God’s Word to suit their own needs.

42. According to Deuteronomy 26:12-13 every third year a tithe was kept in the homes for the poor. Why is this principle ignored by churches today?
Answer: Again, it does not fit into their own change of God’s Word to suit their own needs.
43. According to Deuteronomy 26:12-13 the Levites were included among the poor, strangers, fatherless and widows. Does this mean that the Levites and priests were to be counted among the poor?
Answer: Yes. It is highly likely that God expected the Levites to give away much of what they received to the poor at all times.
44. Where does the Bible say that the poor were required to tithe?
Answer: Nowhere, unless they were landowners or herdsmen living inside Israel.
45. Many OT Levites who received the first whole tithe were political servants of the king (1 Chronicles 23 to 26). Why is that principle ignored today?
Answer: Again, it does not fit into their own change of God’s Word to suit their own needs.
46. In the OT the first and best tithe went to the king. Why is that principle ignored today (1 Sam 8:14-17)?
Answer: We are not under a theocracy. Under Roman rule the first tithe went to Rome and often even the second tithe of fruits.
47. Where did the Levites and priests live most of the time? See Joshua 20-21, Numbers 35 and First Chronicles 6.
Answer: Far away from Jerusalem in their Levitical cities. At first there were 48. Judah had 13 originally but may have expanded them later.
48. How often did the Levites and priests serve in the Temple? See 1 Chron 28:13, 21; 2 Chron 8:14; 23:8; 31:2, 15-19 35: 4, 5, 10; Neh 11:30: 12:24; Luke 1:5-9.
Answer: At a minimum of once every 24 weeks in a rotation (cycle). They spent the other 23 week either raising tithed animals or learning trades necessary for temple maintenance.
49. ***Since 98% of the Levites and priests were not working in the temple most of the time, why would God tell the people in Malachi 3:10 to bring all of the tithe to the Temple when 98% of it was needed for food elsewhere?
Answer: He did not. The “you” of Malachi 3:10 only makes sense if it only refers to the priests. The typical interpretation of Malachi 3:10 contrasts with Nehemiah 10:37b and common sense.
50. What covenant was the curse of tithing part of? See Neh 10:29; Deu 28:12, 21-22; Gal 3:10-13.
Answer: Only the Old Covenant. God is today dealing with His Church in terms of the New Covenant (Heb 8:8-13).
51. According to Nehemiah 13:5-10 who was guilty of stealing the Levites' portion of the tithe?
Answer: The priests.
52. ***According to Nehemiah 10:37b where were the people commanded to take the tithes? Why? Why is this text ignored today?
Answer: (1) To the Levitical cities. (2) That is where 98% of those who needed it for food lived most of the time. (3) Again, it does not fit into their own change of God’s Word to suit their own needs.
53. According to Nehemiah 10:38 where were the priests located when they received the tithes? Why is this text ignored today?
Answer: In the Levitical cities. Again, it does not fit into their own change of God’s Word to suit their own needs.
54. According to Malachi 1:6-14 who was guilty of stealing vows of tithes?
Answer: The priests from 1:6.
55. Who was cursed in Malachi 1:14?
Answer: The priests. They were not commanded to tithe, but they were expected to give generous vow offerings from the tenth of the tithe which they received from the Levites. Num 18:21-28.
56. Who was cursed 3 times in Malachi 2:2?
Answer: The priests.
57. Who is questioning God in Malachi 2:17?
Answer: The priests from 2:13-17.
58. To whom is God replying in Malachi 3:1-5?
Answer: The priests from 2:1-10, 13-17.
59. Are the priests also "sons of Jacob" in Malachi 3:6-7?
Answer: Of course. They text does not have to refer to all sons of Jacob.
60. Cannot Malachi 3:8 be referring to the priests stealing a third time?
Answer: It makes sense that God has not changed from cursing the priests.
61. "Curse" refers to the priests four times in 1:14 and 2:2. Is it possible that God is still cursing the priests in 3:9 instead of suddenly having pity on them?
Answer: Common sense says yes. God has not suddenly changed to feeling sorrow for priests. The “you” of 1:6 and 2:1 has never changed away from the priests.
62. Does the pronoun "you" refer to the priests from Malachi 1:6 to 3:5?
Answer: If it has not clearly changed, then it must.
63. Is there concrete evidence that God has changed his address from the priests to the people in Malachi 3:6-7?
Answer: Not in the context.
64. Has God changed from cursing the priests to having pity on them in Malachi 3:8-10?
Answer: This would be illogical.
65. Since "you" has thus far referred to the priests and since Nehemiah 10:37 proves that the people brought their tithes to the Levitical cities, then is it reasonable to conclude that "you" in Malachi 3:10 also refers to the priests of Nehemiah 10:38?
Answer: Yes.
66. Again according to Nehemiah 10:37 where was most of the tithe needed and stored?
Answer: In the Levitical cities.
67. According to Nehemiah 13:5-10 how large was the storeroom in the Temple?
Answer: If it was made from combining two rooms, the largest would be about 10 ft by 20 ft. Compare 1 Kings 6:6 for room size.
68. Could the Temple have physically held all of the tithe of the nation in Solomon's time or Nehemiah's time?
Answer: Absolutely not.
69. Is it possible that the Temple "storehouse" idea has been misunderstood?
Answer: Yes. Levites and priests living far away from the Temple would have to travel long distances for food. And the early church had no legal buildings for almost 300 years after Calvary.
70. In Second Chronicles 31:15-19, why did King Hezekiah choose to relocate the tithes from rotting heaps in the streets of Jerusalem to the Levitical cities?
Answer: After consulting with Levites and priests, they realized that it was the logical thing to do. The temple storerooms only supplied food for the Levites and priests who ministered in the temple on weekly rotations.
71. The "outlaw" early church met in secret in catacombs and graveyards for over 200 years after Calvary. They had no building to call "storehouses." Why does the modern church use the term "storehouse tithing"?
Answer: It is dishonest and wants ignorant believers to think that they must bring the first ten per cent of their paycheck to the church.
72. The OT Temple has been replaced, not by a building (1 Cor 3:16; 6:19), but the body of individual believers. Why does the modern church ignore this and teach that tithes should be brought to the church building as a replacement of the Temple?
Answer: Again, it does not fit into their own change of God’s Word to suit their own needs.
73. Matthew 5:19-48 refers to all 600+ commandments of the Law. Why is 5:17-18 used only to argue that tithing is still valid? The text is self-destructive for that argument.
Answer: Again, it does not fit into their own change of God’s Word to suit their own needs. The text must be interpreted to teach that we are either under all of the law or none of it.
74. Did Jesus (a carpenter), Peter (a fisherman) and Paul (a tentmaker) qualify as tithe-payers under the Law?
Answer: No. They were neither landowners nor herdsmen inside Israel. That which the produced was from their own increase and not from God’s miracle.
75. How do you explain Matthew 5:19 "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."?
Answer: It means that you cannot keep tithing while discarding most of the law. A consistent principle of interpretation is needed.
76. Does not Matthew 5:19 obligate one to keep all 600+ commandments of the Law?
Answer: In its context, yes
77. According to Matthew 12:1-2 Jesus and his disciples gleaned food on the Sabbath Day. Were they accused of not tithing? Why?
Answer: No. Because by allowing them to glean, the law recognized them as poor. It also proves that the poor were not expected to tithe from gleanings.
78. According to Mark 12:42-44 a widow gave at the Temple. Was she tithing or giving a freewill offering?
Answer: She was giving a freewill offering of money. Money was never a tithed item.
79. Since Paul's tents came from pagan lands, did his income from selling tents qualify as tithe-able income under the Law?
Answer: Absolutely not.
80. According to Matthew 23:2 who were the recognized interpreters of the Law?
Answer: The scribes and Pharisees.

LUTHER, MARTIN; August 27, 1525
HOW CHRISTIANS SHOULD REGARD MOSES he spoke on tithing and he completely rejected tithing. jesus, john, peter, paul , james, early church never taught or collected tithe. roman catholic introduced tithing to church in 777AD by order of emperior. tithing was stopped in rome and uk due to revolt/ rioting by congregation as it was making people impoverished taken from the poor and making clergy fat and rich.

Ubenedictus:
according to scripture it was the job of the Church leader to collect and to distribute alms collected

act 4 … 34 There were no needy ones among them, because
those who owned lands or houses would sell their
property, bring the proceeds from the sales, 35 and
lay them at the apostles’ feet for distribution to
anyone as he had need.
… 36 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the
apostles called Barnabas (meaning Son of
Encouragement), 37 sold a field he owned, brought
the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

the alms collected in those days range from donations to the upkeep of the Church and her ministers and those for the poor. Martin Luther never challenged the right of the Church to collect such donations instead he was angry that they were over emphasized, that those who give are not reminded to confess their sins, then finally the challenged the power of the Church to teach and declare that punishment due to sins are remitted to those who give. He never said the Church shouldn't collect the alms instead he said the Church shouldn't tell people their alms covered their sins.

there were some abuses of process at that time and the Church corrected them but Luther never said the Church shouldn't collect alms.
Christianity EtcRe: Can Christian Couple Have Sex After Traditional Marriage Ceremony? by nicemuyoo: 7:53pm On Dec 20, 2017
let me tell you a scriptural fact now!! you cannot marry a lady unless the parents HANDS HER OVER TO YOU IN MARRIAGE. You need parental consent if they are still alive. That is the authority God has bestowed on them as the parent. No amount of anointing/ prayers/ fasting can nullify scriptures. Thou shall honour your father and mother so that your days shall be long and it may go well with you.
Christianity EtcRe: Can Christian Couple Have Sex After Traditional Marriage Ceremony? by nicemuyoo: 7:44pm On Dec 20, 2017
there is no conflict here. it is just strictly scriptural truth. Marriage throughout scripture and during early church is traditional marriage. the so called jews still do not have church wedding only traditional jewish weddings.
God recognizes traditional marriage during which parents give their consent !! church wedding is a white mans culture and it is not biblical at all. It has nothing to do with scriptures. Only the parents and family has authority in wedding ceremonies not pastors or clergy man. It is just 100% cultural thing for white people and never existed in during and after biblical times until wide spread colonization by whites who brought their white wedding culture to you. It has nothing to do which scriptures. A 100% example of colonial mentality lol.

tete7000:
And you that know history, clap for yourself. The last time I checked, I am entitled to my opinion. I am not interested in putting the traditional marriage before the church's marriage. Problem with people like you, is you see everything from a rebellion point of view. Every organisation has its code of conduct, no one forces you to be member of the Church. If you chose to join the Church and they tell you it's a must you wed in the church for your marriage to be valid, you do so or quit. Whose business is it if you are traditionalist and chose to do only traditional wedding. Ignorant you talking about people not learning history. I am a Christian by choice and believe in the supremacy of Christian faith over traditional values when they conflict. You can't understand, so stay in your corner and ignore me. People could have as well retain their traditional religion and all this senseless argument won't be necessary. Why convert to Christianity, only to come around challenging Church's authority.

olasunkanmii:
Both are mutually exclusive. Reason; by the traditional wedding, you have performed the customary rites required for the marriage ( the peoples' mandate), but by crowning it with the white (church) wedding, you are entrusting your union into God's hand. So, no "chucking" until the white wedding is done
Christianity EtcRe: Tithe: Should I Pay/give Tithes? Bible Perspective by nicemuyoo: 8:24am On Dec 20, 2017
Go and do a simple historical research on tithing. There are ancient records showing tithe paid in pagan temple and to kings in ancient times. During this time a king hold the position of a king and a priest.
I would now explain to you facts that are not taught in theology.
I. Melchizedek was a king of Salem and a priest of the house hold of Seth. Melchizedek is A title not real name. A worshipers of Yahweh. Abraham learnt about Yahweh from him before Yahweh called him this is not recorded in bible but in ancient Hebrew history books.
2. Salem town where Yahweh was worshipped eventually became Jerusalem. God did not just pick a random place to put his name.
3 Paul never taught or collected tithe. Paul was a travelling minister. He received donations from brethren for basic necessities but most often he worked to feed himself and made it plain he prefers to work and teach the gospel without being a burden.
4. There is only one pastor Jesus Christ and every other person is a follower; a fellow priest.
5. The re Hebrew chapter you are quoting was to convince and remind the Hebrews that before in ancient times the position of priest and king is held by the first and oldest male of a family house hold. Abraham was a king and a priest of his own house hold that is why he can offer sacrifices for his household before God.
Because the Hebrews where no longer used to this ancient truth he reminded then that Jesus was was a king and a priest at the same time! Not like aaronic priesthood that has no kingship authority to it.
Yahushua priesthood is like that of melchizedek of old a priesthood with kingship authority. Also using the showing that melchizedek priesthood is superior to that of aaronic priesthood that came later from the lineage of Abraham.
The discussion is not about tithe or endorses tithe in new covenant. Taken out of context and twisting scriptures. Well people make scriptures say what they want to their own destruction according said to Peter.
It is high time people read scriptures in proper context.
Malachi tithe chapter accused the pastors/ bishops of the time for stealing the tithe not the people but the levites/ priest. When you go further up to previous chapters you would know this fact. But pastors all over have taken this verses out of context and twisted to attack innocent congregation.

Salem was a priest and a king of Salem.

petra1:
wrong. theres no such thing. can you kindly quote the passage in the bible ? Abraham didn't pay tithe to melchizedek as king but as a priest of God . He blessed Abraham by the spirit. tithe is a spiritual oblation. pls don't insult Abrahams tithe

it takes a man who tithes as a life style to tithe spoil of war. the fact that we have one written record of abrahams tithe doesn't mean he did it only once

what you gain in battle is yours.

He did , except in corinth. because many nairalanders were in that church . most pastors don't receive salary. they are volunteers. most churches only send out those who have a job as pastors. except few who are on full-time . and the allowances are not much

this ia unnecessary .

honoring parents is a kingdom principle as well. it shouldn't take the place of tithe or vice versa

tithe is not for less privilege . but for ministers of Gods house

Christianity EtcRe: Tithe: Should I Pay/give Tithes? Bible Perspective by nicemuyoo: 11:18pm On Dec 19, 2017
Abrahams tithe was a custom of the land over practiced back then. If you go on war and you are successful. You give a percentage commonly 10% of your spoil of wars to the king/ priest of the land or area where you live. It is a cultural practise of the land . Pagans do it too and That is a fact. Abraham did not tithe out is abundant profits as he was already blessed before giving a tithe of the spoils of war!
God order by law through Moses that ONLY 1% of the spoils of war should be given to the levites/ priest.
Tithing spoils of war and tithing your profit are two different things.
Abraham never tithe out of is personal profit.
Jesus, James, Paul, Peter never taught tithing or collected tithe. They mat have made reference to it while making or discussing another issue but no teaching on tithing Fact!
The support Paul was all about is helping travelling ministers not resident and stationary ones. Help them via donations for bare necessities not luxury!! And not via tithe. Only bare necessities so they are not impoverish . Paul said he would rather die than demand for provision from the church( bare necessities mind you). We are not like those that pedal the gospel of our lord. Are you a hiring doing it for return or you are a bride that does the work free out of a love for the bridegroom!!
This have been twisted today into tithe and exploitation which our saviour never commanded. Placing heavy burden on people like the Pharisee twisting the word of God saying if you make a vow to give to God you can fulfil that vow first even if it means neglecting your parents. So you nullify the word of God to sooth our own teachings. And Jesus said you do many other things like that! Jesus, Paul, James, Peter taught about given & donation, that has all been ignored by today's church, bringing back what was established in church in 777AD by other of roman emperor, which they have long abandoned in catholic and uk churches due to revolt/ riot by the population. Do you know the history? Do you research.
Lastly tithe as never used fortemple/ church maintenance as it is food and it is an ABOMINATION to use tithe for ANYTHING OTHER THAN FEED THE LEVITES AND LESS PREVILEGED.

petra1:
[[[

WRONG!!! Melchizedek was not a Levite , he received tithe . Tithe is given to God not pastor. How ever full time workers in the church can be paid from it.

Z1 Corinthians 9:13-14
Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? Elhven so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel
