tendingNews: Apostle Suleman has admonished Christians not to go to church with their phones, iPhones, IPad, any devices to read Bible from them.
He enjoined the congregation to desist from such act which doesn't show reference to God.
Apostle Suleman said:
"Do not bring your Iphone, IPad, any device to church to read your Bible from it...."
"You can do that in your office, you can do that anywhere, but to read your Bible from your phone when you are in church, it doesn't show reference to God....."
"John 5 : 39 says search the scripture, it didn't say punch the scripture...."
UK based comedian Wale Gates shared the video of Apostle Suleman preaching against bringing Phones to church.
Watch the video here and see reactions after the cut....
I've been arguing this for some time. yet some people would yield credence to carrying phone and reading Bible in church. There are many distractions when you do that.
MegaStarr: After they published my name in a Sports newspaper, I was invited over to their office. Upon traveling all the way there, all they gave was excuses as to why a scholarship will not be go through until I pay N2million. Meanwhile, they had taken a photograph of me with the Akporobaro man and published same on their facebook page, stating that I was a recipient of their scholarship. If you want the full story, I can tell you. It's needless putting all that up on this forum. Those guys have no genuine scholarship offers. Eventually, I achieved what I wanted without Holborn. Cheers.
LMAO holborn is the biggest scam in Nigeria. Anybody who goes just know you're wasting your time and money. Ever wondered why not a single person on their so called recipients is even on facebook in this 21st century. I also wrote the exam abi na test in Sept 2016 in Enugu with my gf, my picture used to be on their profile page. Oct 1 they invited us to their office in Lagos for documentation and then the money story started. I called a contact in Canada who is a medical Doctor to help me investigate and they denied having any form of partnership with Emmanuel Akporobaro or whatever he calls himself. Dude is an organized con artiste. Anyone who ventures you do that at your own peril. Stay away from them. Let him who have ears hear. If you're a graduate with masters and work experience you can try CANADIAN EXPRESS ENTRY which is legitimate and even has a thread on nairaland. A friend of mine and his brothers all left last year. That's the surest if you can meet up requirements.
What right does any nation have to suggest to us how we must handle an impasse ?
Have we ever suggested to Trump how he must handle Pelosi?
Does Nigeria dictate to May how she must relate with Corbyn?
When we needed arms for Boko Haram, was it not on a cash before purchase and oh you must wait a few years before delivery?
No nation can dictate to us.
We are a begging nation. If they stop buying our oil we are dead, a trade embargo would cripple us then they'll pull out their investments so we can all drink our oil. Let's not forget foreign aides too. Nigeria will become worse than Venezuela.
ideynl1: FG should deploy war planes, gunships and aircraft carrier around the US border to serve as a serious warning to them.
Its time we send our military to our foreign allies within US for war drill so that they will know the Baba means business. Baba show them he is a 6-star General.
Nice sarcasm. We haven't defeated Boko Haram it's U. S we want to go and fight. They'll level Nigeria with only one intercontinental ballistic missile LMAO.
The Muslim Rights Concern group has announced its support for the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Nkanu Onnoghen.
President Muhammadu Buhari suspended Justice Walter Onnoghen as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) earlier today and swore in Justice Muhammed Tanko as the Acting CJN. This followed an exparte motion granted by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on Wednesday 23rd January, 2019.
Reacting barely two hours after the suspension of the former CJN, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) described the suspension as timely and necessary in order to safeguard democracy. MURIC’s reaction was contained in a terse statement issued and signed by the director of the human rights organization, Professor Ishaq Akintola, on Friday 25th January, 2019.
According to MURIC, “The former CJN has lost the confidence of Nigerians. He has seriously tarnished the image of the judiciary. No serious government can retain such a character at the helm of its judicial system. Those who sit on the bench must choose between being gold merchants or agents of the bureau de change and being lords temporal.
“It is too dangerous to approach a general election with a character like the former CJN breathing down the neck of Nigerian judges. A man who is in love with bales of foreign currencies and wads of naira cannot have the courage to look away if tempted again. Onnoghen can only benefit corrupt candidates, opposition parties who have benefited and are still benefiting most from corruption as well as unscrupulous litigants who are hoping to get crooked court decisions.
“We therefore give his suspension full backing and unreserved support. Mr. President has acted in the interest of Nigeria and to preserve the good name of the judiciary. Whoever thinks otherwise should have a good explanation of where those strange lodgements into Onnoghen’s accounts came from. The fate of the former CJN should serve as a lesson for Nigerian judges. The judiciary must be fully integrated into the war against corruption if this country is going to be rid of corruption”."
post=75054794: She should work hand in hand with Baba to continue building the good Nigeria that Baba has started.
She was unfortunate to work with thieves, rogues and looters in the last dispensation. A better Nigeria is what we want. Thumbs up Madam Oby.
It's a big shame when most people from your region NEVER supported or BELIEVED in you, but they rather queue behind CRIMINALS and LOOTERS. There qwas as a nation!
Thumbs up Madam Oby, You fought a good fight! Nigeria will be GREAT again with folks like you around WE love you too!
If she saw baba as a viable option she wouldn't have come out in the first place. She wants a coaition to kick both PDP and APC out and not to promulgate one over the other. PDP APC are just flipsides of the same coin. We need something different but sadly the youths won't stop sitting on their hands.
life2017: *Atiku listed as an ‘aide’ to Nigeria’s Senate President – AF* January 19th 2018
The United States Bureau of African Affairs (AF) has disclosed that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, was listed as an aide of Senate President Bukola Saraki.
“We cannot apprehend Atiku because of our diplomatic ties with Nigeria, he’s being booked as an ‘aide’ to Nigeria’s Senate President,” AF said.
It would be recalled that Atiku who for 12 years was unable to enter the US following corruption indictment against him, arrived Washington on Thursday in company of Nigeria’s Senate President Bukola Saraki.
"THE CANDIDATES"....is that a debate? who did he debate with? Morons in high places. A man who has no vision or plan for the country other than to shout corruption, who doesn't obey court orders isn't that a corrupt attitude? Yet you'll see people whom you would think are sane defending a man who should be playing with his grandkids in power. I weep for Nigeria.
OceanmorganTrix: President Muhammadu Buhari only got to know about the trial of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal on Saturday, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has stated.
He also expressed sadness over the trial of the National President of Nigerian Bar Association, Paul Usoro (SAN).
The PUNCH reported that while the CJ had been scheduled to face trial at the CCT over the non-declaration of assets, Usoro is standing trial by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on account of payments received from Akwa Ibom governor for job done.
The Federal Government has, meanwhile, ordered the discontinuation of Onnoghen’s arraignment.
While absolving Buhari of pre-arranging the trial of Onnoghen for non declaration of assets, Osinbajo said Buhari never had any fact of financial misdemeanor involving the CJN until Saturday evening.
He expressed regrets that the CJN had to go through the process. He, however, said Buhari had issued specific instructions that anti-graft institutions should be allowed to do their jobs without any interference.
The Vice President made these clarifications in Abuja on Wednesday during a one-day conference organised by Online Publishers Association of Nigeria, with the theme: “Free Press and objective reporting in the 2019 election year.”
He said, “I must tell you in clear terms that, for President Muhammadu Buhari, his whole approach is that institutions should just do their work.
“I can tell you for a fact that he did not even know about this (CJN trial) until Saturday evening. I don’t feel good about it that senior members of my profession are being tried.
“He did not even know that there was going to be any kind of trial until Saturday evening.
“He had said categorically, ‘Don’t interfere with whatever institutions are doing.’
Sometimes, it has consequences such as we have today, such that people say, ‘How can such an important person be subjected to trial without the Federal Government?’
“But I can tell you without any equivocation that he (Buhari) was not aware.”
homealone00: If posted to the south west you don't have a problem. But if north or potopoto yeast, pls be careful... They are both hostile communities.
Keep quiet. Ever heard a corp member has been killed in the east because of elections? All you know is to display your useless tribalism. Have some sense in this new year.
13Ebiscoo: Mr Chibuke Ameachi, Minister for Transportation and Director General (DG) of Buhari Campaign Organisation, has said the opposition People Democratic Party (PDP) was responsible for the current challenges Nigerians were passing through.
Ameachi said this at the flag-off of Gov. Simon Lalong’s re-election bid on Friday in Jos.
According to him, the hunger, poverty and under-development being faced in the country was because PDP diverted huge monies meant for the public into private use in its 16-year rule.
“If today Nigerians are hungry, it is because in its 16-year rule, the PDP stole monies meant for development of critical sectors of the economy.
“For 16 years, they gave us 3, 000 mega watts of electricity, today the current administration produces 7,000 mega watts.
“Because they diverted huge public funds, we were importing rice, but today the story is different and our local farmers are smiling to the banks.
“So, PDP is full of dishonest people and that is why they stole all our money,” he said.
Ameachi, the immediate past governor of Rivers State, noted that to address poverty, hunger and under-development, the present government is working in that regard.
He urged Plateau residents to vote President Mohammadu Buhari, and Lalong for a second term, adding that the forthcoming polls would be a tussle between the “greedy rich versus the poor masses”.
akelicious: In a bid to enforce environmental laws, the Federal Government has concluded arrangements to begin implementation of national generator emissions control programme from January 1, 2019.
Director General, National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA), Dr. Lawrence Anukam, disclosed this while commissioning the equipment in Abuja. He lamented that indiscriminate use of generators for domestic and industrial power supply increases concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
Anukam noted that population growth and economic activities have escalated proliferation of industries, use of vehicles and generators, which has led to accelerated air pollution globally.
“Atmospheric pollution is gradually becoming a serious menace in Nigerian cities, especially in metropolitan areas where the use of generators for alternative source of power supply is higher,” he said.
According to him, Nigeria has pledged to reduce its greenhouse emissions by 20 per cent conditionally and 45 per cent unconditionally. Anukam, therefore, stressed that the emissions control programme is a strategy to significantly reduce pollutants from generators, adding that it would involve periodic testing. He restated that the implementation of emissions reduction was conceived as a strategy to address pollution and other environmental issues.
For you to stop GHG emissions emanating from generators you must first provide steady power supply to the people which has been impossible so far due to the ineptitude of our leaders.
JusticeSeeker: I was in Lagos about 2 months back, noticed that but was thinking pdp may come up later. Do you mean the situation is same as before? Agbaje get liver.
I recently posted a video on my facebook wall showing ppl removing Agbajes billboards in the night. Heading to Berger he had billboards around too but they also removed it you'll only find Sanwoolus billboards there now. It's pathetic what is going in Lagos making it look like there's no opposition in Lagos. I wish Lagosians would for once rise up and say enough of Tinubus hegemony.
FarahAideed: So they should keep quiet while Buhari continues to use the military and herdsmen to kill innocent Nigerians like in this video below released by New York Times
pacificman: dude wetin concern you...am not acaged by any woman...oh i already have money or do you think i F women without money...i know you want to be like me when you grow uo
This is a faceless platform. You do not know who I am neither do I know you so be courteous with your pride. It's obvious you're still a child in mentality and both in words. Change your mentality bro it'll help you in going forward in life. People who have money don't make noise.
pacificman: its not bragging when its true kid....it simply means..i dont let no woman lord over me..you should try it when you grow up boy
Self deceit is the worst thing any person can do to himself. Having sex with 100 women and bragging isn't an award and won't add a dime to your pocket. GROW UP!!
pacificman: selfishness and well it depends on the guy..am a real street dude i have F more than 100 girls or even more i lost count..am not a chewing gum boy...am the real deal...am generous and i give..but if you try to use sex as a weapon..i will chase you away so fast..i will go on instagram and get my self a girl..no time for nonsense..only small girls use sex as a bargaining chip..guys wake up thats why God created oloshos..lol
You're the one now sounding like a kid. Bragging about how many girls you've slept with is childish and shows you're still growing up. And for the records oloshos do their trade by choice leave God out of it.
ollah2: I asked you what religion am I a part of because an exposed and closed minded person like you believe it's a must to be one. Regardless of what faith lebron James or how he was raised, the fact remains he isn't a religious freak. He ain't a pastor neither is he wishing hell for other people like you and your fellow Nigerian pastors.
Anybody can run chariot organisations and everybody runs it regardless of their faith and my comments has absolutely nothing about hatred for Christianity but I don't expect a different thinking from a bigoted and closed minded people like yourself.
I uploaded a picture of LeBron James who is a sportsman and was raised as a Christian. He did was NO NIGERIAN PASTOR would do. I did into shut up the mouths of people like you that keep.mentioning the government but a Nigerian church can't open a standard world class hospital to cater at least for his members. So many hungry people will keep attending the church and the pastor don't care.
It's a total shame that this move is supported just to boost ego that I'm a Christian and see the church a pastor just built. This kind of mentality you guys posses is really warped hence the reason Nigeria is where it is today.
You would never think logically but rather put emotions and religion to it..
What NO NIGERIAN PASTOR would do you say? Google OPM in Ph and see what the man has done and there are many more like him out there who aren't blowing their own trumpets. Don't just make generalizations without facts.
1Sharon: You lot aren't getting it. The money the government allowed to be invested in a church could have instead been given to the Nigerian defence.
Freeze is talking about PRIORITIES
What happened to freedom? Can't people choose to invest their money where they deem fit? Aren't people paying taxes? The money in control of the FED GOVT both recovered loots can't they use it in purchasing weapons. FREEZER or whatever he calls himself has no point. Rants of a lunatic. What kind of analogy is he making?
AnanseK: Lazy and ignorant youths all over the place. How could they know General Abba Kyari. Governor of North Central State Uber General Gowon ( 1966-1975). And no history taught in school. They only know Davido.
Are you blaming the youths for history being taken out of the curriculum?
EmagNig: Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has mentioned that even though it is true the current administration promised change to Nigerians, it didn't mention it will come within 4 years.
Fashola said this at the inauguration of President Buhari’s 2019 campaign in Ikeja, Lagos State on Tuesday November 20th.
“In 2014, we said we would change Nigeria but we did not say we will do it in four years. This election therefore is a choice between going forward to the next level or backward because the work has already begun.
Since I became a minister, the president has never interfered in what I do. He has never lobbied me for contract and I can assure you that it is like that with other ministers.
The oil revenue the former government took advantage of, what did they use it for?” he asked
Speaking further, Fashola took a swipe at the main opposition party, PDP. According to him, the opposition would not have lost the election in 2015 if they had performed very well.
“We have watched what happened in 16 years of nothing to show. Some people are trying to rewrite history now. You don’t sack a good employee. If they are living in delusion and say it was good governance, why did they lose the job? In 2017, the budget on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was cut from N30 billion to N10 billion. You know who was presiding (then).
“Buhari has inaugurated an infrastructure development fund to ensure that Lagos-Ibadan, Second Niger Bridge and Abuja to Kano Road would never suffer funding problem again. Just yesterday, the two contractors on the Lagos Ibadan Expressway got a total of N15 billion to continue the work. The same thing is true of the Ikorodu-Sagamu Road. That road, for 16 years, was nothing to write about.”
Officialpdpnig: The most painful to me was the assassination of Chief Barnabas igwe and his pregnant wife.
The assassins trailed and mindlessly hacked them down. They dealt machete blows on chief Barnabas, shooting him three times.
Blessing, his pregnant wife, was given machete cuts on her waist, almost severing it from the knee region, separating the upper torso from the lower one and causing her body to bend backwards.
The attack, amongst other things, left a deep wide gash on her waist from her backside. And, apparently to ensure that the couple did not survive the attack, the assailants ran their vehicles over them and fled. Even Blessing’s cries that she was pregnant, and that her unborn baby should be spared, did not touch the stone hearts of the murderers, as they went ahead with their murderous assignment.
PDP is cursed and will remain cursed till thy kingdom come.
In fact the memory of this gruesome political murder has angered me so much so that I am officially dumping PDP in all ramifications right now.
I spit on the party and all she represents and pray that calamity upon calamity will never cease from the households of those driving this party on n'aha Jesus. Isee isee isee
SpecialAdviser: Really? And who told you restructuring is all about telling States to manage themselves.
We can restructure governance for instance into six geopolitical zones. We still share allocations but reduce budgets to Abuja where useless politicians gather to feed fat on our common resources.
Each zone can have its level 2 police system and level 1 federal police will manage them. Presidential posts will be rotated among the regions and lesser money allocated to the office of the president. Remove power to execute federal projects from the federal govt and give money to each zone to fix itself based on allocation. Assign power to make laws to each regions. Election and supreme court be handled by the central government.
Dissolve the useless Senate and House of reps and ask each region to decide its legislature. Still allow state govt to b but they should look up to the regional government for all assistance. Ask region to come up with economic strategy to be supported by the central government. The central government reserve money for tough projects. I really want to see competition. If any region is not doing fine, you relocate to another region instead of running to Ghana bro. Imaging south west coming up with standard education system like we have in Ghana. Do you know how much will that be to their economy?
If in south east education is poor, I will easily send my kids to south west vice versa. If security is poor in south west I relocate to south east vice versa. Once such competition is started, region will come up with economic strategy that will reduce pressure from oil. I bet u each regions will redefine governance that will make them compete better. The north will immediately become more serious with book haram fight. Niger Delta militancy will reduce. It may not come out clean but changing our present system is the best for us. In life its wrong to continue a living that doesn't seem to work well. Change and see the outcome. Being afraid of the outcome is stupid.
We cannot continue to pretend that Nigeria is working. This present structure is a no no for me.
God bless you bro. You are smart and wise. Leave the naysayers who wants the unitary feeding bottle system to continue so they keep milking the country dry.
