Twitter competitions are held, hastag contests, football contests are all promoted on twitter, infact tv stations, brands all promote the worldcup hagtags, with that the momentum arise to be number 1 on twitter trends all over the world.

Nothing is free, twitters gets bulk if its revenue from advertising.

Prince Philip died today, he is number 1 on the trend table right now. Who will pay for that?

Take for instance, Nigeria wins a major competition, like the World Cup. It would definitely trend, will someone pay for that also?

Every social cause promoted on social media is paid for. No protest or social media campaign is organic, as long as you have money to pay influencers, you can personally destroy or support a target.

This leds me to the #endsar campaign, all the influencers were paid to destroy Nigeria by some ngos and foreigners, these same influencers were happy destroying the country they live in.

Nigerians can sell their soul for little cash.

Not all trends are paid for.
