Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, through Crusoe Osagie, his Special Adviser, has cried out that “there is an ongoing deliberate election manipulation in areas where he has strongholds.

Obaseki is the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the incumbent Governor of Edo State.

According to him: “Suddenly, card readers are not working in areas where Governor Godwin Obaseki is very popular.

“Voters are being disenfranchised and we are constrained to say that this is sabotage,” Osagie said in a statement to DAILY POST on Saturday during the polls.

“Specifically, in Oredo Ward 1, Unit 20 and other places where the Governor is clearly popular, the card readers are not working.

“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should prove to Edo voters that it can conduct a credible election in Edo State.”

Few days after a truck failed break and ran into the convoy of former APC national Chairman, Adams Oshiomole in Benin, Edo State, a ghastly accident happened in Auchi, Edo State another truck failed break, rammed into cars, okada and shops where scores are feared killed as a result.

In the accident, a young promising girl, known as Chidera was killed in the accident. His family members, friends and well wishers have continued to pour out thier pains and expressing shocks at the untimely death of this young promising girl, who was so loved by all and sundry of Okpekpe community, in Etsako East L.G.A of Edo State, a community where she was born years ago and where his parents have adopted as thier second home, having spent over 30 years running a pharmacy and other businesses.

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, has called on the Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, to banish the 12 monarchs who went to Abuja without the state government’s authorisation.

He said oil magnate, Prince Arthur Eze, who led the monarchs on the trip, should also be punished accordingly for what he described as sabotage.

Obiano had suspended the 12 monarchs for one year because of the trip which the state government has described as an affront and a breach of the rules and protocols guiding traditional rulers in the state.

But Ngige, in a telephone interview with our correspondent on Saturday, said the monarchs’ suspension was not enough punishment.

He said, “When somebody is suspended from performing the functions of his office, it’s natural that he should be banned from being in that vicinity. Allowing him to stay around is risky because he is a threat to peace. In order to avert such a threat, he should be sent out to another place to prevent possible conduct likely to cause the breach of law and order in the vicinity.

“So, I advise the Anambra State government to relocate the 12 traditional rulers from their communities to avoid a situation likely to cause the breach of public peace. The businessman (Arthur Eze), who took them (monarchs) on the Abuja trip, should be punished for sabotage.”

How, Eze’s media aide, who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity, described Ngige’s call as unconstitutional and ultra vires the powers of a state governor.

It appears Barr. Giwa wanted to rip off his client, Wokoma by asking him to pay 75millon naira bribe to EFCC to obey a given order of the Court to unfroze an account.

The funniest thing is that, Barr. Giwa, a lawyer who should uphold the tenents of justice actually advised his Client to pay the said sum as bribe. Really funny for Nigerian lawyers.
