I dont have any particular one, but all those in the politics section that turn everything into a Tribal war , one Ekiti girl like that especially included. I still cant figure out, if they are just actually joking or they are really like that, in real life; because the amount of hate they spew out at each other is rather alarming and disheartening . Its so annoying to start reading a thread, then the next comment is abusing the culprit's tribe and making awful generalizations, and it keeps going back and forth. 190 and Mr. Cork are just crazy funny dudes. omaojo1:supported. sometimes a lil cane, sometimes just talking to the child would do the magic. The same bible that says spare the rod , also advises us to be moderate. |
this tales by moonlight stories that this man keeps giving us. He is on trial for Kudirat Abiola's death; not for MKO or Abacha's deaths. If the deaths were criminal that is another story for the Attorney General or whoever to look into. Imagine people now saying he has suffered enough and he should be freed. I believe in forgiving people, but not when they absolutely have no remorse for their actions. Deciding to take somebody's life is not the same thing as stealing £1million from the commonwealth. He wasnt mad, he was thinking logically, when Kudirat's death was planned. And from all the stories we have heard he was in direct charge of the murder squad. He should end all his stories and let us face this trial and be done with it. Over this 12 years he should have written a book if he felt he had stories, then we would just buy read, and ask him questions. What is the judge even doing self, by allowing all this long story in court. There are so many other prisoners awaiting trial for petty crimes, while this AlMustapha is using up 12 years of valuable time. ![]() |
all this long story, just publish the names of the volunteers and the names of those on the government payroll. Or is that not the common sense thing to do. Everybody would know who is who. chikena. simples. Nigerian Politicians and there corner-corner; Jay-Jay Okocha skills. ![]() |
, Nigerians and Jazz , see different tactics for picking up money. Well, for me it all depends, if its dem 5 - 1000 Naira range, I go just waka pass, like say I no see am. If na Ghana-must-go-bag of money, I will see if there is a way of identifying the owner. Giving the money to the Police, is gon be a last resort. I no fit use my church mind give those Men-In-Black anything, or even near their station. I fit just leave the money for there instead of going to meet the police. |
l.a.j:LWKMD!!! , at the risk of repeating the same thing; this is the funniest thing I've read all day. Almost threw out the garri in my mouth. |
arrant nonsense by the supposed younger brother. So they violated your brother's body, and you all thought it would be best to keep quiet. You saw his body in that state, what about the children, they did not see the body ba? Since u kept quiet, why are you now coming out to tell us this now? You should have all taken it to the grave. awon oni ro jati - jati. |
, Guys take it easy, look at the top of the page , you are in the Entertainment / Jokes section. Now you can laugh, it is a JOKE!!! ![]() |
Okoro2015:Bros, so it is NNPC that is distributing free kerosene?, are you sure that is what you heard? and why would NNPC be distributing free kerosene? The jury is still out on Rochas in my opinion. So far I think he has made 2 suspect decisions so far. Especially as regards his appointments and their "sourcing" for funds to run the departments, and now this "free" kerosene thingy. If this is some temporary measure to relieve the people, by all means go ahead. Rochas has always struck me as some kind of welfarist politician, but he has to wake up at some point and know that it is redundant to run government, especially one that depends largely on FG allocations like this. It will be daft if he says he wants to keep distributing free kerosene for the long term. |
info.fta:Dude get your facts right b4 rationalising anything: find out when Kudirat Abiola died, and who was in direct charge of the "killer squad". |

, Must every single thread be reduced to Yoruba vs Igbo. Its really becoming annoying now to come on NL. If educated people are behving like this, what do we expect from the general masses, tht are daily oppressed. |

Psychiatric test should be mandatory for all of them, the Civil Defense Corps have (I think) to a large extent carried out their duties with integrity. But I have also witnessed some of them being over-zealous in carrying out their duties; and this is with just horse whips. Now they are giving them guns, next thing we will hear that Police and Civil defense are fighting at Oju-Elegba. I dont want to be pessimistic, they should just be careful about this action. WE already have too many crazy people in uniforms carrying weapons on our streets. |
Ibo-made: , when the guy de talk dt time we de laff am, few years later, we are still in a state of Anomie and Dismal Bismer, dancing the same Macabre dance together. |
De Sheikh:Yes, Islam Is a Religion Of Peace, but you will agree with me, that its a bit harder for us to get on your side, when the Sultan Of Sokoto (Leader Of Most Moslems in Nigeria) comes out to tell us that Boko Haram is not responsible for the killings going on in the north. IT MAKES IT VERY HARD sir to believe you people anymore. As far as I know the Norway guy has not come out to tell us that the Bible tells him to kill Islamic "infidels". Yes he has a grudge against Islam, but he did not come up with quotes from the bible to back up his killing. And to boot, Western "Christian" leaders have all come out to condemn his actions. The Sultan came out to defend BokoHAram. So dont blame people when they start getting paranoid when you bring "Islamic Banking", and with the way CenBank Gov is pushing it down our throats, its becoming really worrisome. |
Alj Harem and co, lets not deceive ourselves, Moslems will always not trust Christians and vice-versa, what I need to understand from you is if you are also agreeing to what the Sultan is reported to have said that : Boko Haram did not bomb anywhere. "Islam is a religion of peace" according to you guys, not so? , but let us agree that there have been too many killings in the name of Islam. And let us not compare MEND to Boko, MEND is fighting for resource control, they have from time to time fingad the Northerners as part of their problem, but nobody has heard of them going out of their way to kill Northerners because of that, even when Southerners are killed up in your Northern enclave. Can we agree on these points. Down south, Islam is practiced freely, but up north Christians live for fear of their lives. I had been waiting for the Sultan to come out and condemn Boko, I remember when he was installed, I had a genuine hope inside me that as a former Army officer he would use his office to rein in the over-radical elements up north and appeal to his people to stop the killings, but he has continued to disappoint me. With this statement of today, I am finally giving up hope on him, I have lost all respect for his person. |
that d sultan of Sokoto can come out and say this is beyond belief. I thought his previous silence was a bit naive, or mybe he was working underground and not saying anything so as not to undermine his power over all the moslems up north, but with this, it is bcoming clear that he is one of the sponsors of BokoHaram. It is a pity that a former soldier of the Nigerian army can say such. It totally lacks in wisdom. Is he the new spokesman for BokoHaram? Boko said they did it, he is telling us they didnt do it. Last year, MEND said they bombed Abuja, Goodluck came out and told us it wasnt MEND. Nigeria we have a very serious problem with our leaders in this country. Very, Very, Serious Problem. |

He said MOST; or is it the article that says he said MOST of his political appointees will generate funds for the running of their offices. The governor should have gone one better and giving us a list of the appointees that are going to be generating the funds. Where are they going to generate the funds from? , Taxing the people, Loans, or using government resources for business. Ok, you might want to say through lobbying activities, but would that not mean that the government would have to start bowing down to the interests of private individuals, thereby holding the state to ransom. We should sit and digest stuff we hear before coming to say anything. I see the sense in the chief comedian going for shows and making money (but wait, who is the guy?, if he were dem Ali Baba, Basketmouth and co class, I would say he has hope) But how are the special adviser on health, or economic matters, or Lagos Matters going to be making money to fund their offices? He should explain better, abeg na Naija we de, no de use cunny man sense for us. |
Young educated Nigerians refusing to use their brains to think, why not just call it non-interest banking or something, why should it be called Islamic Banking , when we all know the inherent dynamics of the contraption called "Nigeria". How many people in the south use or used the "Bank of The North" (I dont know if its still operating), I could have sworn I didnt even know there was a "Bank Of The North" as at 2006/7 until I saw the cheque book with a colleague from the North. Now you are saying Islamic Banking? what do you expect people from down south to now think about the whole idea. Its a bad idea to bring "Islamic Banking" with the going on's in our present socio-politcal environment. End Of Story. |
1. Pastor Adeboye is not even in the picture. 2. How do we know that the person who posted this picture is even an assistant to the Pastor. 3. I have seen him (Pastor Adeboye) standing less than 20meters from me on two different occasions, and the only assistant he had around him was one big burly dude who I thot was a body guard but later found out is his son. This was last year. At least a PA that is able to be so close to take pictures up close and personal of G.O's security should also be able to produce a picture of himself with the Pastor. And what type of PA would even be broadcasting stuff about his boss like this on FB. Its so easy to forsake common sense, when we hv our minds made up against certain people. Yes I am a christian Yes I am against every unneccessary show of wealth, power and what have you, I prefer a man of God to be humble. The Jos story sounds true, and of course even a state guv would assign such security to someone as important as Adeboye (if Time magazine says you are one of the most influential people in the world, it is not beans, you dont even need to ask, Governments will provide more assistance to you than an ordinary Joe on the streets.) But I even have a problem with this so called assistant to Adeboye. |
my two kobo , its a shame that "right" thinking Nigerians should be defending such a thing. It is not about Yoruba vs Igbo, what is wrong is wrong, whether its in the East, West, North or South. Chief comedian SA Lagos Affairs , somebody has already dissected the appointments earlier so there is no need to go over them again. Conclusion is that it just does not make sense at all. |
I'm gon put my neck out and say this is some OLE BULLSHIT news , it makes no sense , 1. "substance" that is suspected to be a bomb 2. a certain "fulani" woman who just decided to keep a bag with a petrol station attendant, and when that one refused, she started arguing with him lets say she knew she had a substance (read bomb) with her why does she need to meet the attendant? , I pretty sure that the covers to the underground tanks will be somewhere outside, just leave the bomb around them discreetly , and kaboooooooooooom! (well, I did commerce in school, so I'm speaking based on all the 8 seasons of 24 that I watched not too long ago) lets say she didnt know what substance (, bomb) she had with her, so someone sent her , (yeah right?) , why would the person send her all the way from the north to go to one petrol station in Ikorodu, when Ikoyi and Lekki dem, no too far away again, or na Goodluck get the petrol station. How does the reporter know sef that it is bomb , the reporter too must be Boko Haram. All these fake news papers should stop stoking the fire, if they are not sure about something, investigate properly. (I'm just bored right now, thats why I have time to type all these arrant nonsense!) |
I want to believe we all are still leaning towards the same thing, i.e. there should be GOOD GOVERNANCE. The only difference is how do we get there, either by concentrating on totally discrediting the previous administration or by looking forward to see how the situation can be remedied. For me, I will plump for the double edged sword approach, nail OGD and also tell us how you plan to rescue Ogun state from its nose-dive. I havnt said do not probe what OGD did, by all means probe him very well, and charge him to court for his crimes. BUT, I have seen this same cycle play over and over and over again. The new guy totally blames the previous guy for the mess the state is in, but after all said and done, prosecute the previous guy, we will not see , ok! move forward nko?! we will not move. As he is telling us on the mountain top how OGD messed up the state, he should also start shouting on the mountain top how he is going to ruthlessly deal with the corruption in Ogun state and give us real tangible road maps and milestones, so that in 4 years time, if its just the whole agriculture industry he has revolutionalised in Ogun state, then we will bear witness and say that he did well (dont count on it though, some of us will still come and bash him, that he is a thief too , such is life) Look at the speeches of Western leaders, as they tell us the problems on ground and tell us how messed up their predecessors were; they also tell us the specific action plans they have on ground already, and they do it continuously. So that its easy for the local man and the international man to say "this is what this Man or Woman is planning to achieve". How many people have the time to go and read through manifesto. Thank God he put it up there, 5point agenda ba, very good. May God prosper his ways and grant him the wisdom to accomplish what he can. |
Is this not the same thing we hear from every newly elected politician. They come in and start telling us how their predecessor actually left the finances in a worse state than they ever imagined. Everybody suspected and heard enough rumors of OGDs mismanagement in Ogun, so if he already knew OGD was a thief he should have been prepared for the worst, the way it is now, he is telling us that there are still dirtier revelations coming our way about OGD. Lets beg him to stop, and tell us how to get Ogun out of its predicament. What we need to hear is what their solutions to the problems will be, I bet you, we will not hear anything definite about their solutions. What we need to see him doing is giving us definite road maps as to how he plans to tackle the situation over the next 4 years of his administration. SIMPLES! If OGD sold Olumo rock, does the concession make Financial sense, dont just come and say that he sold it off, it is still the property of OGun state. |
, choi! choi!! choi!!! , see puppy love! , you hvnt argued for 8months and you are happy, you talk almost everyday for long, ask older people around you, about wht we used MTN midnight call for like 5years ago , marriage is for a lifetime , well you may end up getting married to each other, or you may not, no one knows. Put ya head down and read ya books, make a success of yourself, in ten years time, you can come bck to Nairaland (if its still up) and tell us if you are marrying her. (but, dont mean to sound pessimistic, if you say bcoz you hvnt argued in your 8months of Lovinus and Lovinda tht yo are then thinking of marriage, you are on a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng thing, your love is still blind, sooner very soon, ya eye will open. A woman cn stay in love with you for a whole year, no fight no quarrel no problems, the day she picks a quarrel with you it will be like "suddenly-suddenly" she no love you again, or you no love am again, part of the real test is after all the quarreling and fighting will you still love yaselfs) |
