pazienza:He is still the GMD of NNPC. Being made Minister of State is not a demotion, NNPC reports to the Petroleum Ministry. Baba Go Slow is the Minister of Petroleum. |
Ok, I think it is safe to say that no Doctors have actually seen this "discovery" news on Nairaland. I saw this claim earlier on Twitter, and it was roundly debunked. So please it is not a new discovery, its an old "discovery" which is only now just being made available in Nigeria. Still it is fraught with dangers which are hard to ameliorate in foreign countries, talkless of Nigeria. PS: I'm not a Doctor https://twitter.com/IntensivEpicure/status/659624971749203968

Da heck is the committee of wives of Lagos State officials?!!! ![]() Who is paying for this rubbish? ![]() |
Tkester:"the essence of the suit has been overtaken by events" ?!!! What kinda balderdash is this? Was a crime committed or not. O my, this is animal farm all over again, the more things change, the more they stay the same. |
Hold up ... the Director is able to go ABROAD on vacation, meanwhile the Teacher is on a salary of N10,000 per month. In this Nigeria?!!! And we wonder why some people behave like animals to others. This is happening in a "Christian" school. SMH!!! |
I dont know what the arrangements where, but common sense shoulda told them that if they didnt get an invite then they most likely wont be allowed to get into the building. USA is not Naija where everyone can just burst into anywhere / anytime. U come without invite you stay outside and say hello fom there. |
I do not understand this. Folks are saying Adesina confirmed the news at the time. Can someone actually point to a press release or a tweet where he personally confirmed this. Or we are relying on the same folks who said "it happened" and now have been refuted. |
... o my!!! I have died with laughter here. You mean to tell me that this man operated as a policeman for 12 good years in this Lagos and no other policeman detected him. How did this happen? Did he use to set up one man check point, or he just joins other policemen on the road and they allow him to join when he did not follow them from their division. And he got caught out by the simplest question ever ...does that mean he didnt know who the previous IGPs he "served" under where? but on a serious note- this man operated for 12 years, and we wonder why BokoHaram is eluding our security forces anyhow? when they cant even pick out a fake officer from their midst. Na God de save us for this country. |
Thank God for his life. Hope this is the end of such health scares in his family. |
We will just unlook the fact that Ngozi Okonjo Iweala started borrowing money to pay salaries? or what is this old man trying to say? If NOI started borrowing to pay salaries, doesnt that mean the country was broke or almost broke. Borrowing to pay salaries not to fund infrastructure development, and someone will come say the country wasnt close to broke. They keep glossing over the fact that we had an oil boom for a better part of GEJ's tenure. OBJ didnt have this oil boom, but still managed to give Yaradua/GEJ massive savings. Suddenly at the end of an oil boom, we go broke less than a year and there is no tangible infrastructure on ground. They know all this but they kontinu to give us cock and bull stories. kontinu! |
Its sad that folks do not understand the symbolism behind this story. A sitting governor being asked to represent a Party leader (Tinubu is just a "chieftain" aka "power broker" at a public function. The minute Ambode became governor while he is still primarily an agent of the APC, he is now the governor of all Lagosians and carries the will and power of all Lagosians, even those that didn't vote for him.Tinubu is still a private citizen, who we did not at this time give our combined powers to. He does not represent any will of the people. So what is the problem? How can Tinubu who does not have the express and legal backing of the people of Lagos, now explicitly and overtly show that he can bend the will of the people, by asking the governor to represent him. It is an affront to the office of the governor. If it was at a private and closed off function then by all means and purposes carry on and represent your benefactor, but at a public function, NO WAY, PLEASE! Will we soon hear that Buhari is repping Tinubu at a public function or where does it stop? It is not a legal arguement, but it is a moral one, especially in our society where stories of "godfathers" teleguiding and looting by proxy our collective commonwealth are rife. PS: While not a card carrying APC member I did support the change mantra in my own little way. So its not as if I am speaking from a place of envy or whatever. But what is wrong is wrong. And this is wrong. We were saying JK was going to be teleguided by PDP goons and rejected that. Is this not the same scenario happening? |
fatdon2: Na everyday different "popular Lagos Pastor" de come out to make prediction. Hian! and "Mountain of Blessings and wetin"? I thought it was Mountain of Fire and Miracles we had, who then be this one? Also, abeg "bareness" and "barrenness" are not the same thing. So is it that she wont be "naked" or she will not be "fruitful"? ![]() |
Its just funny that lawyers who should reason better are used for some of the most inane causes. If he was convicted in the US why not just challenge his election to the House of Representatives, why just challenge his aspiration to be Speaker. I am sure this is not the first time his alleged conviction has been brought up. He failed to remit client's funds, came back to Nigeria ran for elections, then he took himself back to the US and voluntarily went to court admitted that he failed to remit the funds. He was then suspended from practicing for a short period but is allowed to practice again. If he is allowed to practice how can he be a convicted felon then? Yes, he was being clever by half by returning the funds himself after he |
![]() Ya mate de trek Abuja to Bayelsa, you carry ya black yansh de trek just 50km. You lucky say dem no flog you join sef for trespassing. ![]() |
![]() Erm! the law does not reduce the age of consent to 11. It says anyone that sleeps with anyone less than 11 will get life imprisonment. Surely comprehension cant be that hard. Abi e get another part of the law wey my computer no de see?!!! ![]() |
all4naija:What is the difference between what you just typed and what I typed. If the command center is relocated from Abuja to Maiduguri, doesnt that mean that the war will now be coordinated from Maiduguri. Quote: "The most immediate is Boko Haram’s insurgency. Progress has been made in recent weeks by our security forces but victory can not be achieved by basing the Command and Control Centre in Abuja. The command centre will be relocated to Maiduguri and remain until Boko Haram is completely subdued." What does not make sense to you? Or you just felt like typing that? |
all I can say is that we have children on Nairaland. Buhari did not order defense Headquarters to move. He ordered the command center for the WAR to be coordinated from Maidugiri. What is so hard to comprehend about that? Why did we keep getting conflicting information or no information about the fighting in the NE? ... because everything was being coordinated from Abuja, while the war front was in the North East. How will someone wining and dining in Abuja be concerned about the welfare or understand the particular needs of the soldiers fighting thousand of kilometers away? Or how can they control the narratives that we hear? You dont think part of the problem was that Boko Haram kept giving updates from the war front whilst our own soldiers who were fighting and also winning certain battles found it hard to communicate their victories to the outside world. When General Petreaus was head of the US war in Afghanistan and Iraq he did not sit down in America and plan strategy and tactics from The Pentagon he was based in Iraq. What is so hard to comprehend about this please? |
that some folks see this and are going "GREAT" "COOL" "NICE" ... I dont know whether to laugh or cry hysterically. All you are doing is creating a picture of your website and then resizing it for your Twitter page. OP didnt even tell you the exact dimensions for the "dashboard" (Background photo is the widely accepted name) image. It is 1500*500 pixels; incase you cant utilize google yasef I hope no one is thinking that the "links" would work though, because I dont understand why taking a screenshot of your webpage and resizing for twitter would make it to Front page sef. ![]() |
what is that supposed to be? What kind of a crappy tourist attraction would that be?I am more inclined to agree with folks that have suggested that is an occult construct. I mean why would someone take state funds, state land and construct such a crappy looking hand? This doesnt make sense, and he has been building this and my friends in Imo havnt gone on the street to protest against it? SMH seriously!!! |
Here we go again. I keep hearing that Jega is trying to favour APC/Buhari in the coming elections, but how exactly is he doing this? No one has a coherent insight into his plans. I hear that folks up north have virtually all collected their PVCs: ehm! we accuse them of being jobless almajiri cattle herders, so who else is in a better position to stroll and get their PVCs if not jobless people. Besides there are people up north that are going to vote for GEJ so what is the problem if everyone there has collected PVCs. Or dont the GEJites have faith in their 150 almajiri schools which they built while ignoring that BokoHaram was decimating the host communities of these "schools". Down south it is that APC is denying non-indigenes from collecting their PVCs: ehm! so we are saying that all the Non-Indigenes in the south are going to vote GEJ/PDP or how does INEC (or is it APC's INEC) decide which non-indigene to give. As far as I know nobody has tatooed PDP or APC on their foreheads. So by allegedly restricting the numbers of people that collect PVCs in South west, are the APC's INEC not going to be shooting themselves in the foot for the presidential elections, since in the SouthEast the PVC collection rate is quite high too. Elections are a game of numbers. There are non-indigenes that will vote for APC and also those that will vote for PDP, same as indigenes. Even looking at the figures, Lagos with a voting population of about 5million as at Feb 18 had about 3million PVCs collected, that is more than the voting population of some northern states. So will all 3 million people that have collected vote for APC? Stop looking at just percentages, look at the actual figures for the states. We cannot get 100% collection rate, it is IMPOSSIBLE. Some havnt been printed, some people have died, some are in a totally different state from where they registered etc. Card readers? GEJ has been making noise of using "Technology" to fight corruption, now Jega follows his Principal's wishes and actually goes to procure said "technology" for guaranteeing free and fair elections, so what is the problem. The card reader is only going to verify if the person presenting the card is actually who they claim to be, it will not affect the vote count. Unless they have proof that Jega is going to use the "technology" that has been touted much by GEJ to rig the elections. Then let it be produced instead of unduly castigating the man. If they bring the proof, then can we also conclude that GEJ must be pulling the wool over our eyes with his use of "technology" to fight corruption, because GEJ has marketed his technology as being failproof against corruption, if in the case of the elections it is not failproof, then we might as well conclude that GEJ has been deceiving us all this while. So how is Jega helping or aligning with Buhari? |
Congrats to him, about time we celebrate our own heroes, and Enyeama definitely deserves it, he has been exemplary as far as I know. |
Timing is everything, you dont carry the picture of the lifeless young girl and post while thanking God and praying for favour, the very day after the incident happened. It would have been better if he put a picture of the girl when she was still alive and smiling. The girls family is still deep in mourning, it happened just yesterday, jeeeeeez!!! And people are defending his action that its his own instagram page. Common decency, the Bible says do unto others as you would want them to do unto you. God forbid that something like that happens to his sister, would he even be happy to see pictures of her dead body circulating, talkless of someone using her picture to offer "thanksgivng prayers" to God? Its because we dont have laws in this land and people are ignorant of their rights, anywhere else the family would sue his black behind to court for causing emotional distress and anguish or something like that. Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez!!! Common Sense aint Common ![]() |
Benjom:good sample, but if you or someone could elucidate more (if you know) about differences between writing a CV for Nigeria HR as opposed to writing for say the UK or US. I ask because you see folks debating about should my DOB/ Marital status / Religion be included or not. I know for a fact that in the UK one wouldn't bother with such details, but the Naija market is different. Cheers. |
there are always 3 sides to a story : your side, my side and the truth which usually lies somewhere inbetween our views; but sometimes the truth is heavily in favor of one of the parties. My side based on PERSONAL and RECENT experience: the MMA Airport International Arrival is nothing to write about, anybody that tells me that place was renovated and brings "pictures" is a blatant liar. Now if MMA that should be our model airport looks like that, in my mind it casts a shadow over the good stories about the other airports. So with all the other pictures, I take a pinch of salt. Some of them might actually look as good as the op's pictures depict, but I am partly biased to believing the stories of folks that have said they have passed through some of those airports and they are nothing as depicted here. |

So a JOBLESS man has 2 wives, and decides to sell his only child, after they will say that some "evil spirit" is doing them from somewhere. Illiteracy and greed are two terrible things to have together. |
dedons:When he was about to do the deed he didnt seek advice, he done it and he is now asking for help kwa. And an SS1 student for that matter? what was wrong with him. Action brings Reaction, do the right thing, at the very least, if he doesnt marry her, he should take responsibility for the child and also joint responsibility for the continuing education of the BabayMama after this episode. |
SMH at how some people think. GEJ and PDP are in goverment and control both the executive and the legislature, and by default can put a little pressure on the judiciary. All they have to do is take all this allegations / accusations to EFCC, Police, SSS, DSS, FBI, CIA, MOSSAD, somebody or anybody that can investigate Tinubu and bring out concrete paperwork about his "corruption". Instead we are watching home movie, and someone will come here and start casting aspersions on Buhari. At least Buhari took concrete steps to tackle problems, granted it was draconian, but he took steps. Our GEJ is not taking any action, same thing he did with BokoHAram and Boko is now releasing Home Video for us every month. How some people are able to defend his cluelessness remains beyond me. APC is the opposition party, they do not control government so they can shout accusations all day long, GEJ is supposed to come out and robustly refute the allegations, not tell us "America Will Know" or "Stealing is not Corruption". If Tinubu is such a big crook PROSECUTE him. Simples. Now it doesnt stop me from thinking that Tinubu is actually a crook, but I cannot prove it, I dont have the power. The people that have the power are instead making film for me to watch ![]() |
GReat story and may I wish the beneficiary all the best in life. Also can I say this is a good thing to celebrate about the GEJ government, at least this plainly looks like meritocracy taking precedence. After saying this, can I still declare that I am opposed to GEJ in principle not because he has not done anything good, (I would be lying if I said so) but he has on the balance of things allowed more things to go wrong than right in his administration. I refer to things that are rightfully within his power to have controlled but because he lacks leadership qualities. I do believe that to a large extent GEJ is a good man with basic good intentions, but he does not have the capacity to stand up for those intentions of his, in a country like Nigeria especially, that is a bad trait. Whether we want to be like ostriches or face the facts, the free fall in our Naira today while primarily due to the fall in oil prices could have been ameliorated better if GEJ had effectively plugged the loopholes in the Petroleum industry and in our Budgeting and Finance as a country. He had the overwhelming will of the people with him and could have done wonders, instead he allowed a few cabal to hijack his government from him. No matter how you want to play with numbers it is fact that oil sold on average for 100Dollars for at least 3 years, Nigeria was making hefty amount of money in Dollars. Now Mr president constructs a few roads, does trains (truth be told a lot of those aint modern trains, but at least he did something), builds some schools and universities (which aint world class or African class, but lets give him that too), sanitizes the fertilizer distribution system (which would save some money for goverment too) and diversified the economy ( I dont have example of the diversification, but I will happily agree with it). Now can all these that he has done be equal to the amount of money we made within the time frame; considering that our said foreign reserves are now massively depleted and our debts have also massively increased? At least if we made a whole lot of money and also did a whole lot of things fundamentally important to our economy (e.g light, better communication infrastructure etc), I would say equation balanced, but for us not to see any fundamental restructuring of the economy and also now be back in debts, then the right question is where has the money gone to. On security, isnt it instructive that the same BokoH that was tormenting the federation for over 4 years is now within a short time loosing their foothold. I have heard stories about USA not giving us arms, my retort is that America is not the only country in the world that sells arms. How was BokoH able to get their own arms. Besides the fact that BH was able to overrun our own army and use their own weapons against us is dishearterning. So what has changed now : POLITICAL WILL. GEJ has now suddenly summoned all his political will and has found the arms we need and also the "leadership traits". NB: The arms did not come from USA still, so where did all these arms now appear from? Our president also showed crass insensitivity to the plight of the Northerners and by extension the Nigerian people. E.g: going to dance at a campaign rally after Nigerians were killed, refusing to acknowledge for weeks the kidnap of Chibok girls and so many more instances of this nonchalant attitude to the plight of the common man. If anyone of our relatives has being killed or kidnapped and we see our president being so unfeeling to our plight would we be happy to vote him back in. Till today the Chibok girls havnt been found and our President doesnt seem to take a leading interest in finding out their fate, after he begrudgingly agreed they had been kidnapped. Then there are his utterances, he himself said he would tackle the light problem in 4 years and if he doesnt do it then there is no need to come back. Plans do change, I agree, but at least let him come out and comprehensively tell us what he has done on the light issue and why we still dont have constant light (lets say constant light is at least 12 hours of light everyday through out the whole country). So, GEJ is the one that has put himself in the position which he finds himself now. He cannot blame APC for his predicament. #OverAndOut |

While not condoning any form of violence because of merely changing political affiliations, can I say that I do not believe this story based on the picture evidence. Unless the man is telling us that the said hoodlums cornered him and decided to only slash one side of his face, then this story is hokum. At least if he was so beaten that he could get a deep gash on his face that would emit all that blood on his clothes, then we would see evidence on the rest of his head. The rest of his head looks totally unscathed. So I'm sorry this man is only putting this out there so as to whip up sentiments (PDP "thugs" vs APC "saints" ) and I dont blame him; its the way politics is played, it is for us as citizens to open our eyes and call out the dubious ones and HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE for every lie and deceit. Sadly we fail at doing this as a people and are readily drawn into "Us against Them" fights, without waiting to examine the given evidence. |

It is highly commendable what GEJ is now doing, but I will have to add it is a bit too late. My opposition to all the "it is Buhari and APC that sponsor BokoHaram" proponents is very simple: GEJ is the C-in-C of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he has vast powers to do and undo within our borders. If he and his party were able to articulate that the opposition sponsored/sponsor BH, why did they not go out get the proof and arrest the said opposition. Why did they not also pump in our resources to decimate BH when they had just started capturing Nigerian territory. At least the opposition cannot be as rich as the Republic of Nigeria. Oil price was soaring for years so we could not say it was a lack of funds; and for those complaining that America blocked our arms purchases, I put to you the question: is it only in America that arms are produced, Russia and China would happily had given us arms to use against them. Where are these arms that are now being imported coming from, because as far as I have heard America has not changed there previous stand. Most importantly there was no political will from GEJ to acknowledge, talkless of fighting the Boko scourge on our land. If he had shown this same political will and compassion that he is displaying now, I dare say (even in spite of the monumental corruption that has taken place under his watch) a sizeable majority of those either screaming "Sai Buhari" "Change" or even those sitting on the fence like myself would be firmly behind him. On another note: this story was obviously a PR job by the government: why would it be so openly announced that arms for the military have been brought in through a civilian airport. They are now going on the PR offensive, anyways good to them, I hope security is really tight around the arms, we dont want to hear that Boko has suddenly reinforced with arms that the government has just purchased. In all I am grateful that at least this is happening now (a lot too late though), and grateful also for our soldiers (I hope the death sentences for the supposed "mutineers" is shelved by GEJ). God bless Nigeria. |
EUROBOMBER:Did APC make GEJ/PDP go dance at a campaign rally the day after Nigerians were killed in bomb blasts? Did APC make GEJ/PDP ignore and doubt that over 200 girls were kidnapped for almost 3 weeks? Did APC make GEJ/PDP fail to save more money into our Foreign reserves when oil prices where soaring high for over a year? Did APC make GEJ fail to address the Boko Haram issue holistically for years? Just a few questions that need serious well articulated answers. I know politicians (APC and PDP inclusive) are wont to giving a dog a bad name to hang it, but there are somethings that we can easily deduce. But by jove, the amount of personal attacks on GMB is unnerving, watch AIT and NTA you would think GMB eats human flesh for food. Instead of addressing issues, all we hear is GMB is sick, GMB is this or that ...WEtin Na?!!! GEJ has done some good things, I readily accept that, but our house is on fire and we are praising the housemaster (GEJ) for killing some rats that have been disturbing us. |
