Hi everyone, this is the daily exercise and food routine. If you are interested in joining please introduce yourself. This is an example of the introduction.


Hi, My name is Mrs Nairaland. I currently weigh 90kg, my height is 5ft 1, and i want to lose 10kg before the end of august.


After this we shall all welcome you grin grin grin grin grin


Everyday, you must type in your food and exercise log here. Remember that you cannot completely omit all foods or starve yourself for life. So its best you eat in moderation and do lots of exercise. When posting your food log, Please state the amount eaten clearly, and for the exercise, state the time. Let me paste an example for my yesterdays log (This is how you should post yours too)

Log for 10th June


7:30 am : 200 skips, 100 crunches
8:00 am 1 indomie and 1 apple
3:00pm: 2 moi moi wraps and stew
4:30 pm: jogging 20 mins, aerobics 45mins, 250 crunches
6:00pm: 1 cup of beans and one apple


Total water taken for the day: 3.5L



That was mine for yesterday. At the end of today i would post today's own.

If you guys are interested, please introduce yourself.


Lemme tell you bout myself: i am a doctor here in naija, i help people lose weight, to the best of my knowledge. If you have any questions, please ask. also, if i notice anything with your diet, i would advice you. Remember, the best way to lose weight is slow and steady. Quickfixes make you gain it back.

Well, i need no introduction but i'll do it anyway.

I am Omo Ibo. My Log for the 11th of June is as follows:

jogging: 34 minutes, 35 secs
Skipping: 150
food (breastfast)at the time of typing this: 2 bananas, some peanuts and 1L of orange juice
Pressups: 30
crunches: 100
water intake: i drank twice from a tea cup. sorry dont know the size

phew!!!! When i saw the 48kg my eyes popped out, den i went back and read your goal. Keep trying girl. try to increase those crunches, and keep sucking in. And you need to eat well oh, if you wan gain weight. na only twice u chop yesterday

My name's Ms Bee and i currently weigh 65kg and i am 5ft 6",would like to loose 10kg by July.

Today,i drank garri and groundnuts in the mornx and did no exercise at all cause i was hurrying to work.Walked from my house to the bus stop ~ 10mins.

garri is a killer . i like it but it is one food i am not allowed to eat

Killer in what way? makes you gain weight or lose weight ?

For me it makes me lose weight because I drink it with a lot of water which fills my tummy and makes my brain think that I am no longer hungry

8:30 am: 1litre of water, no exercise cos I woke late n had to rush to work

10:am: 1 piece of chicken

3:00pm: I serving of salad with chicken
6:00pm ten mins aerobics
7:00pm 400skips, 150crunches
Total water for today 2litres only.

Fantastic thread!

Here's my intro I'm carpe diem 5"7, 85kg (started weight loss at 97kg) trying to get down to 60kg so 25kg more to lose. My short term goal is an average of 1kg to 2kg a week. I believe in slow and consistent weight loss, I've had enough of faddy diets, name it and I've probably done it so right now I'm eating less and exercising more. It's slow but its working for me and I'm not starving!

Yesterdays log
5.30am run/walk (5km) and strength training afterwards
7.30am 1 glass whey protein shake
9.00am half a tuna sandwich with whole wheat bread
12.00  rest of tuna sandwich
3.00pm small serving of chicken salad with olive oil vinegar and black pepper
7.00pm fish peppersoup

Water 4.5 litres (yes, quite a lot, I usually have a big 1.5 litre bottle on my desk at work that I fill up when I get in and keep refilling, I also drink quite a lot when I run)

This is the best thread i have ever come across on Nairaland

This is mine,before i started my weightloss program, i weighed 85kg after having my baby.That was 6months ago.I started trying to lose weight 2months ago.Not sure of what i weigh now but i have noticed considerable difference.My clothes now hang lose a bit, So here goes

My height, 5.5, weight 85kg, Goal - to lose at least 1kg in one week.
Meal log for yesterday
8am , cashew nuts, Groundnuts banana, 3glasses of water
12am, more water and chewing gum
5pm, Fried rice and one lap pf chicken, I was hungry

8pm, 3 oranges, 3 bananas, groundnuts, 2 glasses of water

Total qty of water taken, 3litres.

5am , Jogging for 45mins
6am , 50 stomach crunches

all day at the office, sucking my gut in.

i try to eat but i just i just dont have the appetite embarassed sad just started using multivitamin supplements and they seem to be working sha cheesy

8am---------sucked gut in, crunchies (about 60 somn lost count)

10am---------breakfast j/rice and chicken

12am----------juice and biscuit

7pm-------------more j/rice it was real tasty and i couldnt let it waste cheesy cool

amount of water consumed--- about 1 liter it really rained and i just wasn't thirsty

9.00am 1 banana 2 apples chopped and 2 tablespoons greek yoghurt
1.00pm Nandos chicken (half a chicken)
7.00pm okra soup with shrimps and dry fish (no oil)

Water 4 litres

7am taebo abs & glutes workout dvd 45mins
8am glass of Chocolate whey protein shake & two boiled eggs
1pm to 9pm at a barbeque so lots of suya, chicken, sausages, corn, fish and prawns

Dominique, just my two cents, start weighlifting.

It's good for those who are trying to gain weight. I don't know if you are in Nigeria, but hear that there are some good gyms opening up in different areas now.

Weightliftng will increase your muscle mass, and the more muscle you build, you will find that you get hungry more often, or at least, will likely be more motivated to eat.

Eat a lot of protein (groundnuts, chicken, red meat, eggs, dairy, beans, moi-moi, whole grains (some cereals are made with whole grains). About five or more times a day, no matter how small each time, it adds up.

A quarter-cup of groundnuts is about 9grams of protein, if you can eat just one cup for the whole day (in addition to your other meals of course), that's 36grams of protein right there, not including your other meals. Your lean muscle will increase, and you will gain weight.

10am omelette (2 eggs) and 2 sausages
1pm glass of chocolate protein shake
3pm 1 cup (cooked) jollof rice 1 cup mixed veg & 2 pieces grilled chicken
7pm glass of vanilla protein shake 1 apple
Water 3 litres
No exercise today I usually pick a day a week to rest
Weight I weigh myself every Sunday morning and I'm down 1kg to 84kg

Nil exercising today.

Breakfast: One boiled egg with apples and carrot
Lunch: 1 cup of beans
Dinner: vegetable and plantain.

I take my measurements every sunday too . Still same: 68kg.

NB: i am maintaining and weight and not trying to lose. Due to health reasons, and drug intake i need to exercise daily to burn of the fat deposition and water retention caused by the daily intake of prednisolone.

I attended a party and there was all sorts of grub on display. the well garnished munch were tempting.
Unfortunately, i could not help myself. I've been good since the turn of the year.

won't be happeneing again . . . . at least anytime soon.
