**Running under Labour Party
**As Coalition Groups declare unconditionally for Asake
Coalition of Support Groups of Honourable Isah Ashiru Kudan in the 2019 General Elections, have advised him to pull out of the 2023 election contest and support a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Jonathan Asake, now aspiring to be the Kaduna State Governor on the platform of Labour Party( LP).
This was contained in a statement signed by Joel Garba, leader of the Coalition and Gideon Sardauna, the Secretary.
The Coalition said Hon.Asake ,President of the Southern Kaduna People’s Union (SOKAPU) and candidate of the Labour Party (LP) from southern part of the state, deserves to be supported to be the next governor of the state in 2023.
According to the statement, “the coalition is made up of Ashiru/Katung Youth Vanguard; Sarkin Bai Southern Kaduna Support Group, Ashiru/Katung Mobilization Network among others.”
The statement released in Kaduna on Friday, explained further that " the numbers are not in favour of Hon. Isah Ashiru, so also the spirit and letters of our constitution, which encapsulate the Principle of Federal character.”
The group noted that ” it is the constitutional right of Ashiru to contest, but will be morally unjust for Zone One that has held unto power for Over 10 years out of the the 23 years since the Military returned power to civilians, thereby leaving Zone Two and Three to share the remaining 13 years, out of which Zone Three governed for barely two years; it is therefore fair and just for Zone Three Candidate to emerge as the governor in 2023."
The group further states that, they recognize the fact that there are candidate across various parties, but their call for Ashiru to back out and support Asake is base on the fact that they worked for him in 2019, and were disappointed that he couldn’t win his Kudan Local Government, and as it stands today, nothing much has change, therefore, the need for someone from Zone 3 to try his luck.
On why they settled for Asake, the statement said Asake is the leader of Southern Kaduna People that are spread across at least 14 LGAs with population not less than 4.5 million persons and voting strength of almost 2 million.
"He is also an experienced politician who served as a Member of the House of Representatives, Interim Management Committee, Chairman of Zangon Kataf LGA, a former lecturer among others which make him more than competent to lead the state.”
"He has proven himself to be a good manager of diversity and lover of humanity which he manifested in his unrelenting advocacy to end the Southern Kaduna killings”.
The group therefore called on lovers of Kaduna State to support Honourable Jonathan Asake for Governor, while prevailing on Honourable Isah Ashiru to step down in order to build synergy among the opposition elements in the state.
It's no more about election. It's about 28m vs 200k votes now. The message must sound as far as Japan.
I will travel to Lagos to vote by God's grace. I have always voted.
2019 was YPP. I no dey use this my blessed thumbprint, thumbprint for criminal or muslim. Gubernatorial was Sanwo Olu. I don't thimbprint like third world brain.
In 2023 it's about 30m vs 50k votes. Na wa for the 50k people even.
H0711: I got married two months ago. I am 7 months pregnant my husband didn't tell me he had a child from his previous relationship and the child has a disability celebral palsy. Her mother came to dropped her off in my house saying she has done enough and she's tired it is now hubby turn to take care of her.
The child can't do anything for herself she can't sit, talk, walk and she does toilet in her clothes. I can't do it anymore I love children because I have taken care of my own nieces and nephews before I would have taken care of her if she was normal but taking care of a child in this question is hard and if her own mother has had enough she abandoned her and why would I kill myself taking care of her in my condition.
I want to divorce and go back to my village I have told him i am leaving next month. He is pleading with me not to leave him that he will take the child somewhere else but the place is not free he has to be paying like 200k monthly for them to take care of the child and he doesn't even have that amount of money because he is not financial stable.
I will stick to my decision but I want to know what will other people do in my situation.
I prayed immediately for you. Sometimes when we are not there we don't know how to give advice.
May God grant you people money, money in abundance and other helps.
slymansun: It is easy to blame them because you are not involved in their pains. I have twice turned down lecturing job because of the very poor salary. Do you know how much Nigerian lecturers are paid? Entry point is just above #100,000. It has been like this for many years. What do you do with that with the astronomical rise of cost of living in this country? If Nigeria is too poor to pay lecturers well, why then do our political leaders earn and live in luxury as if we are the richest country in the world? Why should a senator earn over #25 million per month while a professor earns less than #500,000 per month. A medical consultant earns less than #700,000 per month while a senator with SSCE earns tens of millions. Why should our govt refuse to standardize our higher institutions but send their children to standard schools outside the country? Why can't our Govt upgrade our hospitals but run overseas to be treated in hospitals with Nigerian doctors. This are the roots of the crisis in the education and health sector and other sectors. Our Govt is the problem. Our political leaders should see themselves as servant leaders and not as people who should use our collective resources to live in luxury while they pay peanuts to civil servants among whom are seasoned and skilled professionals.
You are right. I feel for them. But it's their top hierarchy I don't like. I don't mean what I say but I want those Prof. to take students into consideration.
Their main focus should be to campaign for a new government. Strike efforts with no encouraging end should be avoided because of students.
There are at least four war zones in Nigeria currently and potentially five. 1. Fulani bandits in extreme North (Zamfara, Katsina) 2. Boko Haram in Niger State 3. Boko Haram in North East 4. Fulani massacres in Southern Kaduna
As retirement is close and the reality of them living next door to you in your LG and all that intakes dawns, you are now jittery? Man of self-centeredness.
nikky5: I don't understand why many people see Peter Obi as a saviour for our country. Many of them cannot tell you the reasons why they are supporting his Presidential bid...
Nigerians must shine their eyes. Labour party cannot be at the centre while his few minority in the Senate and House of Representatives will be mere puppets. Labour party is an unpopular party with a very inexperienced presidential candidate.
Please I am begging you not to waste that vote. Only the progressives will agree with me. The internet OBIdients may not see it in this light.
As for me, I would rather not vote, than to vote for a man who has no party structure.
Mr. man, if Peter Obi will be 30% of what a President should be, both Tinubu and Atiku are 0%s. Tinubu and his boko deputy may even be minus.
You can't beg people to leave 30% for 0%? Unless serious satan is depressing you?
