I am a Nigerian in Germany with a German Masters degree. It's quite difficult to get professional jobs in Germany as an African as we are usually the last of the pack. The only luck I ever had was to get internships, internships that takes several months to get and usually only for short periods. The high percentage of Africans even with German Phds doing menial jobs is highly discouraging and depressing. Most are trapped in the race for survival and I can't imagine myself living life like them. I feel I could do better with my skills and education that spreads across Europe's top countries.

I made the decision to return to Nigeria, harness my skills and start up a processing company. At 25 and the sole breadwinner of an extended family, they are asking me to stay put, saying that the Nigerian environment is not good for business (I feel they are only scared of losing out on the goodies they get from me).

Also last year, the family introduced me to a female in the UK, talking about marriage to her. The said lady is a Nigerian within my age range, but born and raised in the UK. Though I have been to the UK severally to see her, I have made no commitments whatsoever as she is not the kind of lady I would marry all things being equal. She and the family have however given me a ultimatum to decide now.


What do you advice?

You can leverage on the two situations you are in now; abroad and being a Nigeria....look for things you can invest in from there and be monitoring from there while it grows....if its eventually works, you can then think of relocating back to Nigeria with your family still abroad.

Nigeria has more prospect to make bigger money if you invest in the right business and if and only if you have the capital to invest, but don't be in a hurry to relocate.

Fuel wise, mileage, output, spare parts and maintenance- Shacman is down below..
You can't even compare it with HOWO and the recent HOHAN of Sinotruck.
Even most of our drivers are rejecting Shacman.

We also market Sinotruck Howo and Hohan in partnership with the original Chinese brand owners in Nigeria.....you cannot compare Sinotruck Howo or Hohan with Shacman. Shacman has been in existence and road proven and errors almost corrected than Sinotruck Howo and Hohan.

Dangote made Sinotruck Howo popular in Nigeria, but he realized it can't compare to Shacman in terms of durability, reason he went to China to get the license to start assembling Shacman in Nigeria and Africa, but he was referred back to us, and he had to buy from us.

All of them are using the same Weichei engine......but axle strength and ability to withstand tough terrain and load makes the difference and our Shacman axle does the job better.

But Sinotruck Howo is also very good and durable, no issue, I recommend it too. It also uses Weiche engine.....Euro II.

Not any company, we have already bought the leasing for a particular period, so not any company can rent the assembling line.

Dangote wanted to become official assembler of Shacman trucks, but he was referred back to us so he had to be patronizing us because Shacman is one of the most reliable China made trucks in the world, followed by Sinotruck Howo line.

So Dangote went for Sinotruck Howo, which he got and has established an assembling plant for it at Oba-akran, Ikeja, Lagos.

So Dangote is officially the only assembler of Sinotruck Howo trucks in Nigeria, but Shacman belongs to us solely.
