bigkesh: I didn't even see the game but from reactions here I thought he found the cure for cancer only to discover he scored two goals Pedro will net with ease The importance of those goals though especially his second. His 500th goal, scored on the patch of his most bitter rivals, with his own personal and professional rival on the pitc, in the last seconds of a game, stealing the 3 points, and taking Barca top of the table. I'm a dyed in the paint Messi hater, but mehn that dude was on boss level 99 on Sunday night. That celebration alone nearly made me cry. That entire sequence of events was masterful. My Goodness. |

dopeJemi: pogba isn't selfish but he has the most shots from outside the box at united
I hate messi as much as you do but you can't call messi selfish cause of those stats, messi is someone that creates more than he tries to score Relativity is key. Messi isn't a selfish player, but he is way more selfish than Hazard. All we're saying is that Hazard should learn how Messi does it. Physically and technically, there is little to no difference between the two. |

afrodoc2: Suarez is a central striker and when he was EPL he was better than Hazard so that does not help the Hazard argument. The Lukaku case just buttresses my point that if u take more shots like Cronaldo your accuracy will drop. I hope Hazard moves so you guys' doubt will be cleared. He will score more goals yes, but prime Messian Cronaldo levels ? No The point I'm trying to make is that Messi's numbers are not unachievable by anybody else. Suarez bettered Messi and with Neymar continues to post similar numbers, and that goes to show that a very good player playing in a very good team will post good results. Obviously Messi is in a different class, but if Hazard was playing in that same team the difference between Mesi and Hazard will not be anywhere near as stark...especially if he starts shooting more. |

how selfish is messi? Go and check who takes the most shots at Barcelona. Go and check who takes the most shots from outside the box at Barcelona. Come back and report your findings |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 7:11pm On Apr 24, 2017 |
afrodoc2: I followed from the beginning. You just can't multiply number of shots by a factor. If he takes more shots his accuracy will drop and he won't be as prolific. He does not have the talent level to score Messi and CR7 levels of goals just like the rest of be human world. He is not as tall, powerful, dominant in the air and does not shoot from both sides as well as a prime Ronaldo. Change of mentality or team or increase in volume of shots won't push Hazard to Messi or CR7 levels. He does not have it in him and you guys should stop putting such pressure on the young man. Actually, Hazard does have the talent. We've seen him do it time and again against some of the biggest teams in the game. Accuracy is relative. Ronaldo's shot accuracy is lower than Lukaku's this season. The difference is the volume of shots Ororo takes. Hazard is usually very accurate with his shots. If he shot more, I am super confident that his goal tally will also jump exponentially. For him to then reach Messi and Ororo levels, Hazard needs to play in similar team with similar team mates. Suarez is not as good as Messi, but last season he had more goals AND assists than Messi. So don't tell me Hazard cannot reach Messi level of scoring. Put him in the right team with the right teammates and see what happens. Just Neymar and Suarez average 40 assists per season between them for the last 3 seasons, and I haven't counted Iniesta Rakitic alba etc. This season Pedro, Matic and Fabregas have 20 assists between them. Those are our 3 highest assisters o. Forget story bros. |

afrodoc2: That brain you just glossed over is what separates Messi from others like Hazard and co. Also let us wait for him to shoot more and see the result first instead of just assuming and comparing him to one of the GOATS. I am not knocking Hazard unnecessarily but there are levels to this and he is not even on the next level below Messi yet. I think you misunderstand this entire discussion doctor. Let me remind you Nihilist: I actually made this point about Hazard at the start of the season and it's very true. Hazard needs to be more selfish in his game. Unfortunately, he somehow feels that he carrys the burden of creating chances for the team.
If hazard chose to pass less and shoot more, he would be unstoppable. Statistically the main difference between Hazard and Messi/Ronaldo is the volume and rate of shots. Everything else is not so disimmilar |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 6:34pm On Apr 24, 2017 |
afrodoc2: I am not hating on Hazard. It was AFTER considering his supporting cast that I said he is not near him. I made adjustments for that and he is not near. In the history of the game they are looking for who to place ahead of Messi and struggling and you people want to compare one 11 goal a season player to him. Since Hazard came to Chelsea he has 55 league goals and Messi had 174 or 175, that is a factor of 3! If u explain that with supporting cast then the difference between Clem ohameze and Marlon Brando was supporting cast and the difference between Aboutrika and Zidane was supporting cast. Shebi that is why we're all shouting for Hazard to shoot more. Let him shoot more first and we can see. Me i believe he has the physical and technical attributes that he needs to be as effective as Messi. The only difference between them is their brains. Even in FIFA video game, Messi is rated 93, Hazard is rated 88, so even their scouts must be in agreement with what we're saying. Hazard shoot more! |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 6:03pm On Apr 24, 2017 |
afrodoc2: No two teams are exactly the same and no two supporting casts are exactly the same.
However the difference between Messi and every footballer not named Ronaldo can't be explained by just supporting cast. The gulf in class is greater than the gulf in supporting cast. No supporting cast will make Hazard score over 70 club goals like Messi did in 2012 or so. If that is it every Peter ndlovu and Ezekiel Alamu will claim it is lack of support that made them not score like pele or Romario. Nobody said supporting cast alone is to blame, but if you say Hazard is nowhere close to Messi without considering how much more inferior this Chelsea team is to Barcelona, then you're not being objective |

weedtaker: shey fabregas no rake double digit assist playing in a two man midfield? what is stopping hazard from doing same with his amazing numbers of chances created? 2012/2013 And 2013/2014 Hazard created the most chances in the league. We then had Torres, Ba, Etoo up front playing nonsense and spoiling ball. In case you forgot, that season Fabregas raked double digit assists, Hazard won PFA player of the year, and came 8th in the Balon Dor. I'm not Jayz I can't keep giving you reminders. |

Messi did it with Etoo, Did with Pedro, did with Fabregas The same players we are told Hazard can do it with So the Etoo that played at Chelsea was at the peak of his powers like the one at Barca? Hazard has never played with a player who recently won the golden boot in the same league. NEVER. |

afrodoc2: It makes more sense to compare Hazard to Nani than Hazard with a possible GOAT. The difference between Hazard and people like Nani, Nasri, Ben Arfa is mainly the mentality u people have been latching on.
The difference between all those guys ( including Hazard) and Messi is talent. Of course, because Hazard has played alongside Golden Boot winners, like Nani and Messi. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 5:48pm On Apr 24, 2017 |
raumdeuter: Nani put 3 seasons of double digit assists when will Hazard make his
Nani was injured that was what made him lose his place and got shipped out
Nani 9,700 EPL minutes 56 assists Hazard 13,600 EPL minutes 42 assists
The difference is clear. Shebi assist is the pass that led to a goal? Which assist does Hazard want to get from Nando Torres, 35 year old Drogba, Old Man etoo, Demba ba, Willian, Pedro etc. Let me see Messi do it with these players. |
