diggz: You have a right to your opinion so I won't fight it.
As long as rapping is concerned, "not singing" they can revisit it whenever they want to.... biggie and 2pac will still find their way into the list.
Drake reminds me too much of Nelly. I have mixed emotions about him so I will go with kendrick. They can be the chairmen of their generation, but won't smell my all time greatest top 5 rappers list. Lol @ singing Bruv Biggie used to sing too. Remember Playa Hater? |

diggz: Jigga actually won life #fact
Burr I don't do album sales when I judge rappers bro.... I grew up listening to naughty by nature, Wu tang clan,Ice cube, Ice T,L.L Cool J, krsone, scarface, bone thugs and harmony, coolio, 2shorts, Warren G, biggie smalls, 2pac, Nas,jigga, heavyD,snoop dogg, dr dre, Big Punisher aka Big Pun,kurupt,The lox, blackrob, mase(lol),busta ryhmes with his flipmode squad, fat joe, DMX, and co.......
Eminem is up there for me,and for a white boy who was able to break into the black market he is definitely a special talent, but I will never place him ahead of 2pac and biggie smalls in my books, definitely not when I am to list my all time greatest rappers. Lol most of these guys were never even in the top 5 convo even in their era. And in my opinion, the average rapper these days can out-rap all of these guys. Not to talk of Eminem who was seen murdering a top 5 (consensus)rapper on his own shït as early as 99. I think that the top 5 conversation needs to be revisited sha. The likes of Nas, Pac and Even my beloved Biggie can no longer command an undisputed place on that list because their legacy is fading fast. Kids of today don't even listen to those guys, and I'll be surprised if my grandkids know who they were. Jay-Z and Eminem are the only ones who have remained culturally and musically relevant over the years, and I think the likes of Drake and Kendrick are knocking on the door. Personally think Drake deserves a top 5 place. He's this generations Eminem. |

afrodoc2: Now you are giving excuses why he wasn't started, i thought you said he was given a chance IMMEDIATELY? Even Sherwood that knew him from childhood and nurtured him through his countless loan spels was reluctant to start him. Not every youth player hits the ground running. Not everybody is Mbappe or Rashford or Michael Owen.
Also you can't hold young players to a higher standard than established players and i think this is where i really disagree with your ideas on youth development. You can't expect Musonda to hit the ground running and start scoring freely when this hyena Wiilain himself is as impotent as Lord Varys, averaging 4 league goals per season over his career.
Willian has plateaued and has started declining meanwhile there is still hope for Musonda to become more than an activity former like Willian.....but he needs minutes. Nice post. I don't require the strikers to be world beaters..they just have to show promise. Musonda has not shown anywhere near enough promise to demand a shïrt like he has done..i don't think he has. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 6:34pm On Oct 10, 2017 |
afrodoc2: There was no other striker in the United set up that day. Nobody else was fit even in the acdemy. All senior strikers injured, 2 youth strikers injured, 1 reserve striker on loan. That was the situation that day. This is not hypothesis, it is fact. Unless you wanted Van Gaal to name himself to the bench.
I watched Sherwood say that while he was a studio analyst last season. And he did not immediately drop Soldado anything. Sherwood took charge in December and he gave Harry Kane his league start in April.......half a season is not immediately . The records are there, Harry Kane scored a handsome total of 3 league goals that season..........he was that hot lol His first start was in April, not his first game. And that's because Kane had Adebayor and Soldado. Soldado was 1st choice and got dropped for Adebayor After AVB had exiled him. And Soldado was a club record signing for that matter. The Sherwood later switched to 442. How many games are there between April and season end in May? The long and short of it is - you've seen very clearly that as soon as Kane was given his first proper chance a la first start - he took it immediately. Nothing like waiting around for adjustment or finding feet. No nagging no Instagram post. And he then scored in back to back to back games. And he has never looked back. That's what we want to see. Not scoring against Nottingham forest and then sulking like you have arrived. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 6:15pm On Oct 10, 2017 |
afrodoc2: I have listened to Tim Sherwood himself say that he and other top guys at Spurs did not expect Harry Kane to go on and become this good. I was surprised because i expected to reel out the usual " i always knew he was good" story but he was honest and told the truth.
To give you another indication Harry Kane made his Spurs debut in 2011 after which he went on loan after loan after loan without making waves only for him to get his first Spurs league goal ALMOST 3 YEARS AFTER in 2014.
Rashford was on the bench because there was no other striker in the United set up that was fit up to under 18 squad sef. All senior strikers were injured, Martial got injured on the day, Wilson was injured, Will Keane was injured, Ashley Fletcher was on loan. That was why Rashford played that day. It took an injury crisis. The boy is good but let us not rewrite history. Kane made his debut under Redknapp in 2011. By 2012 Redknapp was gone. So we never know what plans Redknapp had for Harry. AVB came on the scene in 2012 and as usually wanted to change everything. In a year, he was chased away and the assistant manager Sherwood who had been there since the Redknapp days and knew Harry Kane, immediately dropped Bobby Soldado the 28m pound striker and played Kane. Hear him... “It never even crossed my mind when I put Harry Kane in the team,” Sherwood said during Sky Sports The Debate, via Turkish football. “All I was worried about was winning a football match. “And I looked at a kid on a training field against a £28m signing and I saw someone that was better than him. He scored in his first games,” he added. So I'm not sure where you're getting your info from, but on this very thread I remember how we were all debating this guy who seemed to be scoring with every shot...he was that hot. Rashford was on the bench instead of any other random academy lad for a reason. Managers don't just gamble - they are training with these guys 5-6 days a week for hours at a time. You can't tell me that the manager does not know what he has when he names the player to the bench. Luck has nothing to do with it. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 5:52pm On Oct 10, 2017 |
afrodoc2: Rashford was lucky to get his chance. Nobody expected him to be this good and definitely not at this age and all the praise is AFTER the fact. There was little hype about Rashford anywhere before he got his chance and that chance was due to injuries and loans to about 4 or 5 players on that faithful day.
There is something defective about the youth policy in Chelsea if your last established youth product before this season is in his mid 30s despite your youth teams knacking everybody.
Harry Kane didn't exactly set the world alight in all his loan spells, or is there anyone here who heard of him then? And even when he got his chance at Spurs it took several matches to find his feet and now he is a goal king.
You can't be giving a youth player piecemeal minutes and yet be holding him to a higher standard than a senior player who has been fecal all season long. If anything the youth player should be held to a lower standard cos after all there is room for learning and improvement while in Willian's case we all know say him brain don ossify. Nothing like luck. I'm not sure you remember the Harry Kane story during the Sherwood years. Maybe you don't follow fantasy football. Sherwood started playing Kane and Adebayor 442 and Kane was hot that year. Scored in his first EPL start and just kept scoring. It didn't take him any few games anything to find his feet...he scored in his first start, and then continue to net In the next 3 or 4 games That was when we first knew him in FPL. There is nothing lucky about Rashford rise. He was in the squad for a reason. He was in the bench for a reason. Even if those people did not get injured, he would still have played - he is that good. |

raumdeuter: Renato was given chances at bayern, not just 2mins substitute and 12mins, He got chances and didnt deliver, next Bayern sent him on a loan to prove himself. Musonda has already been sent on loan and didn't deliver. He's now being tested at home with a full 90 minutes fixture in the early stages of the season and is running his mouth. |

raumdeuter: Where will he get this evidence from? What evidence does Lukaku have to give to Mourinho when he was deemed not good enough to start ahead of Etoo Ba, Drogba Torres and Costa Lukaku could point to his top goal scorer awards in Belgium, and his 35 league goals in two seasons at West Brom and Everton. That the coach chose to ignore this evidence is another matter - but there was solid evidence. Where is Musondas evidence? |

raumdeuter: Then Chelsea should send him on loan or sell him to go prove himself elsewhere. There is no way he will perform on the big pitch when he cant get to play on the big pitch News flash. He was loaned to Spain. He flopped. Others will claim otherwise and give various reasons why it didn't work out....but ultimately it didn't work out. Especially given that other contenders for his role who were better got injured And the coach looked at it and deemed it not enough. In Mourinhos coaching career, How many players has he brought from the youth team and became world class starters? These guys all went to go and make a name on loan. What has Musonda done even on loan? Abi are you saying he deserves to play because he has a funky name and flash haircut? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 4:28pm On Oct 10, 2017 |
raumdeuter: The only reason his time was limited on the field is that the coach doesnt believe in him. Hazard was injured till recently and Pedro was injured too. Wings and AM the only option was Willian.
Musonda go don reason am say if he cant get minutes with Hazard and pedro out is it when everyone is fit that he will get minutes
The same question would be asked of Lukaku, Look at your competition Drogba, Torres, Ba, Etoo, Costa etc what have you done on the big boys pitch(not in a grade B league like Belgium) to deserve a place.
Most of these youths, if you are asking what theyve done to deserve a place, None will ever get a chance at first team.
And the Rashford argument, Yes he was Lucky to get a chance. That all the senior players were injured or misfiring and the coach believed in him to give him a try. Another coach will rather play False 9 than give an unknown virgin-boy a chance in any game. In another world, the senior players will be fit play the game Rashford started and the guy will be on his second loan to Leeds and Preston now
The same injuries happened and Musonda didnt get the chance And why should the coach believe in him? What has He done to deserve such trust? |

ToyinDipo: Nah, before he was conceived. I would have had his debut since in Carling cups. He was, because he took his chance, he isn't the youngest debutant though. Rashford joined Manyoo in 2014. In 2 years he was starting for the club, breaking a 50 year European scorer club record in the process. His time was appropriate abeg. |
