Whilst there is opportunity in agriculture in Nigeria, as a fish farmer of over 13 years now,

I am quick to note that most successful agribusiness here have other sources of income that they use to really offshoot the large capital needed to make the agribusiness work.

Why are we buying 1000 bags of the fish feed?

Its at a calculation of 1000kg not 1000 bags. And I’ve not even applied a realistic FCR of 1.3 to the calculations

First you have to separate CAPEX from OPEX.

CAPEX is capital expenditure.

OPEX is operating expenditure.

CAPEX is things like cost of land , ponds , borehole, pumping machine. This are huge funds that you won’t recoup in a cycle. Yet they are part of your expense.

Then OPEX is things like fingerlings or juveniles, fish feed, cost of changing water etc.

Whilst Op’s heart is in the right place, his calculations are false.

Asher’s Tarpaulin ponds of 500 fish each cost 250k each for full installation. So that’s 500k for 2 mobile ponds that can take 1000 fish already.

Juveniles of 70n : 70k

Feed at 2400 per Kg for 1000 fish is already 2.4m for 1000kg. We have not even spoken of a realistic FcR (feed conversion ratio)

Then cost of labour and water change etc

But what do I know ?

I’ve only being a full time fish farmer for 13 years now.

My noc is 82030 – Agricultural service contractors and farm supervisors. Part of my responsibilities falls under "Agricultural service contractors" and part of my responsibilities falls under "Farm supervisor". Can the responsibilities be combined on reference letter?

Yes, however for farm supervisor it would help if your employment letter states those jobs you want to claim.

ALso , your agric service contractor claims should have letter head references from places you performed those services with evidence of payment for those services. I would advise that you draft the document and send to those companies for them to just put on their letter head and stamp/sign for you.

If you have a company you also need the c.a.c document for it and an annual return document.
