Fruits are essential to the human body.
There are lots of nutrients in them which are beneficial and important for human health. Nutrients such as vitamins, fiber, minerals, phytonutrients and various antioxidants.
So including varieties of fruits into your daily diet is essential as it also helps in fighting off some disease in the human system.

So in this article,am going list out 6 fruits you can find in nigeria,its nutrients and it’s benefits to the body.
It’s best to eat fruits on empty stomach as your body obtain and maximize it’s full benefits.

Fruits you can find in nigeria are:

Banana, pawpaw, orange,coconut, mango,watermelon

So let’s get started with banana

Banana:

Banana are good source of carbohydrates.
It is fully loaded with fiber which are good for the heart.
Banana is high on potassium which are good for regulating the heartbeat and blood pressure.
Banana helps fight of anaemia
Banana are high in iron which helps to reduce red blood cell or hemoglobin in the blood which cause pale mess, fatigue and shortness of breath.

Pawpaw

Pawpaw is also called papaya.
It contains nutrients such as
Carbohydrates
Fiber
Protein
Vitamin C
Vitamin A
Folate (Vitamin B9)
Potassium
Calcium
magnesium and vitamins B1, B3, B5, E and K..
Paw paw improves digestion.
It helps to digest protein easily and also deal with constipation.
So if you’re bloated after a meal is best to eat little of paw paw, it helps to ease the stomach.
Eating paw paw often helps to deal with inflammation as it deals with the disease in the system.
Paw paw has anti cancer properties. The lycopene in papaya does help reduce cancer risk

Orange-

Orange are excellent source of vitamin c.
A good intake of vitamin c does reduce the risk of colon cancer.
Anti-oxidants in orange helps to protect the human skin from free radical damage known to cause aging. That is to say, an orange a day makes us look younger.
Fibers in orange helps to lower the level sugar level in the blood
So people who are diabetic are OK to have orange

Coconut-

Coconut provides about 61% of fiber in the human system, which means that they are high in fiber and foods or fruits that contains fiber helps to lower the risk of heart disease and diabetes.
Young coconuts have more water in them than the mature one’s.
The water in coconuts contains what we call ELECTROLYTE’S.This electrolytes helps to keep the body system properly hydrated so that the muscle and nerves can function well.
The coconut helps to restore oxidative tissue damage and contains a source of healthy fats, proteins, and various vitamins and minerals.

Mango-

Mango is a sweet fruit and i rarely hear anyone say he dislikes mango.
Mango has an abundance of vitamans,minerals and antioxidant.
The antixodant in mango protects against colon, breast , leukemia and prostate cancers.
Mango is high in fiber.
It contain an enzyme which helps for digestion.
Mangoes leaves helps to deal with diabetes.
Get some mango leaves and boil it with water. Leave the leaves in the water through out the night and then drink in the morning.
Mango lowers cholesterol.
A proper amount of mango does promote healthy sex as it contains vitamin e.

Watermelon-

Watermelon is a sweet refreshing friut which has lots of water in it.
It has lot of nutrients in it such vitamin c, vitamin a and many other healthy plant compound.
Watermelon helps keep you hydrated as it has lot of water in it which is good for the body system.
It improves your heart health as it has lycopene in it which helps to
lower cholesterol and blood pressure.
Watermelon contain citruline which relieves sore muscles. so after workout, it is ok to have watermelon as it refreshes you.

Become more sedentary, eat at least 3 times a day and in between meals.snack on chocolate and ice cream

Eat junk food alot , eat late at night

Become a couch potatoe and watch your weight triple

Sleep alot during the day if you can do all these weigh yourself after one month grin

Hello guys, dietfitelt blog is here again with a new article, but today's article we are going to be talking about fitness.

I know some of you guys love keeping fit but due to one or two challenges you couldn't.
So today we are going to be talking about growing a big chest without gym equipments.
Do you want to grow a big chest, then be patient and keep reading.

Alot of you guys out there might not have access to the gym or some gym equipment you can use to train at home to keep fit, so I decided to make an article first on how you can get started on how to build a big chest without gym equipments.

So to get started, we are going to talk about push up or press up.
Now push up is a great way to build a big chest without any gym equipments.
When I first started bodybuilding, I started with push up. I pushed up for like straight 4 years. I built a big chest with it, with contraction and everything. Also got to notice that while you push up, your back, shoulder and arms are engaged and are built as well but the pump and contraction goes more to the chest.
With that been said let me list out the different kinds of push up I did which I don’t really know there name but as I explain further you will get to know how the move goes.

Now the normal push ups

The normal push up is the type mostly every guy does. This push up is performed by just placing your hands on the floor below your chest, which should be 2 inch apart.
Your hands should be 2inch apart, spacing out your fingers for your arms to be stable when pushing up,then keep your legs together and straight as possible.
When you are all set in this position,then go down and then push up.
I tend to go fast or slow when doing this type of push up.
When going fast, I don’t really or fully squeeze the chest, I just go fast to get that pump on the chest asap which builds the chest, then when going slow I tend to squeeze the chest fully. For example:
When in the push up position, I go down slowly and then push(boom) hard to the top,squeezing the chest hard. I tend to go 3set X 30 reps.
So if you know how many reps you can go just go 3set and then how many reps you are ok with.

Next is diamond push ups.

Here you will have to keep your fingers all locked in, in a diamond/triangle shape.
This push up in particular, pumps the chest hard but does engage the triceps a bit.
So this is how you go about it.
Get into the push up position, keep your hands in a diamond/triangle form,then go about your push up.
It just the same with the normal push up, is just that in bodybuilding, things has to be switched up a times as a particular muscle might become stubborn to a particular workout and the move that comes with it, so always try out something new and shock that muscle.
I go 3set X 20reps on this.

Next is the decline military push up

The decline military push up is done with your feet resting above something then your hands on the floor.
So get a chair, get in the press up position, place your foot on the chair and your hands on the floor and push up.
This hits the upper chest more.
The upper chest makes your chest look more defined. When the upper chest is lagging, the chest tends to look slappy and I bet you don’t want your chest to look like that, so include the decline push up in your push up workout
I go 3set X 15reps on this

Lastly is incline push up

Here the object you are going to use won’t be that high as it was in the decline push up.
I tend to use two big dictionary of the same height,place 2 inch apart, place your hands on top of the dictionary, keep your legs straight and then push up.
This push up in particular, I find very effective as when doing it, it tend to make my chest muscle sore which will eventually grow.
So if you have any object of the same height and of the same height of the dictionary, then make use of it.I go 2 set X 15 reps.

Hi guys, dietfitelt blog is here again with another spicy article.
This time it is about food.
Do you love abacha (african salad) and will love to make it yourself, then this article is for you, so read on.

HOW TO MAKE A DELICIOUS ABACHA(AFRICAN SALAD)

Abacha is a delicious meal which comes with loads of nutrients in it.
Abacha is usually being consumed more at the eastern part of nigeria.
Some say abacha can serve as a snack not knowing abacha is a full meal.
It can be served at home or at an event.
Abacha is processed from cassava and goes through more process to get it in it’s lean form which is now used to prepare the african salad.
Abacha when fully prepared has other nutrutional varieties in it.
Everyone have there own way of preparing abacha to taste good,so let’s go straight to the different nutrients you can get from consuming abacha and how to prepare it.

Nuritents you can get from eating a fully prepared abacha are;

Carbohydrates
Protein
Fats (heathy fats)
Vitamin A&c
Potassium
phosphorus
magnesium
iron
vitamins
calcium
manganese
copper.

I will explain a bit about the nutrients listed above and that will be at the end of this aticle,so read on to know.

Ingredients for preparing the abacha.

Will be measuring some of the ingredients here in a small cup.

5-7 cups of abacha.
1 cup of ugba

Half cooking spoon of crayfish

I cooking spoon of akidi.

1 stock cube (maggi or knoor)

Half cup of palm oil or 8-10cl.

Salt and pepper.

1 Powdered edible potash(if not powered,put in a plate,add a little water to dissolve)
1 bulb Onion.

Garden egg(2) &leaves.

Fried fish or dry meat.

How to prepare the abacha

If you will make use of akidi,then cook it before the preparation likewise the fried fish or dry meat.
Soak the abacha in a pot or bowl with water for it to dissolve,when soft strain out the water and put aside.
Add 1 cooking spoon of akidi to the pot.
Add half cooking spoon of cray fish to the pot
Add 1 cup of ugba to the pot.
Add the powdered/liquid edible potash to the pot.
Slice the onion into the pot.
Cut the garden egg and leaves into small pieces and add into the pot.
Add the stock cube together with salt and pepper for taste.
Add the palm oil to the pot and turn everything in it with the cooking spoon till the abacha turns yellow.
Then taste it to know how good it taste.
Get your plate and serve yourself with the freshly made abacha and add the fried fish if you’re a fan of fried fish or add the dry meat.
Now you have a whooping delicious freshly made abacha in just 20 minutes.
Your can enjoy this meal with a local chilled drink nkwocha known as palmwine.
Now am going to let you know the nutritional values of some of the ingredients in this meal.

Abacha-

Abacha is low in carbohydrates which won’t make you gain weight or unnecessary fat.

Akidi-

Akidi looks like beans but it is smaller to beans and is very high in protein which is good for your body.

Ugba-

Ugba is known as the african bean oil which contains a lot of nutrients in it.
It’s high in protein,a great source of energy(carbohydrates (,phosphorus, magnesium, iron, vitamins, calcium, manganese and copper.

Garden egg& leaves-

I did decided to share my new article again with you guys and todays topic is about how to sleep with ease when you find it difficult. If you find it difficult to sleep a times,then I bet this article is meant for you.

Sleep is essential and necessary to every human being.
The body needs sleep to grow.
Sleep does refresh and energies the body.
For example ;Before you go to bed you may be feeling so weak and exhausted,then you go to sleep and wake feeling energized and strong,that’s what sleep can do to the body.But not everybody find it easy to sleep and that’s why I made this article, to show what you should
do and shouldn’t do to get a good sleep.
Number 1 on the list is “distraction”

Distraction-

To get a good night sleep,you have to eliminate all form of distraction around you.
Distraction will keep your mind wandering which makes it difficult for you to get a good sleep.
If the eye are open,definitely it will keep picturing and sending scenes to the brain to process and when your brain is at work,you can’t sleep.
Your brain needs to shut down all processing for you to sleep.Such distraction could be;Intractraction of people in the room or outside,leaving the room bulb on,loud music etc.
Distractions of any kind should be eliminated to get a good sleep.

Eating heavy meal for dinner-

Eating heavy meal during dinner could be bad as it tends to make you uncomfortable,making it difficult for you to sleep.
This case might not be the same with everyone.
Some people get uncomfortable if they eat heavy meal and some get sleepy after a heavy meal
So this piece is for those who get uncomfortable after a heavy meal and find it difficult to sleep.
During noon time,if you planned to sleep after having a meal, then you shouldn’t go too heavy with the meal,try eating little and when you wake if you feel hungry you can eat again.But if at night,is best to have fruits and water because they are light food you can have and they are very easy to digest.So switch your diet up.

Worrying you haven’t slept yet-

This is a big turn off to sleep.You shouldn’t worry about not sleeping yet.
Try taking it off your mind,including any other worries you have in mind.

So give it a try.

Watching tv or scanning through your phone in bed-

Watching the television or scanning through your phone could be another reason you find it hard to sleep immediately you get into bed.
You might ask,what’s wrong with watching television or going through your phone before sleep??.
Let’s assume you are watching late night news from the television and you are updated on the latest happening.You literally just put you mind to work,as your brain will keep processing the information and scenes it just saw and heard.
Due to this,you will experience difficult in sleeping. it is advisable to get away from your gadgets an hour before going to the bed so as to get a good sleep.
So if you’re a victim of this act then you should try switching off your gadgets 1 hour before bed.

Slow down your breath-

When you get into bed and you are experiencing difficulties to sleep then you should try to slow down your breath a bit.
This exercise tends to get the body in the mood to sleep as it tends to make the body cool and keep the mind focused on breathing slowly.
When doing this, try to keep your eyes close to keep the focus tight.

Plays some music-

Music can be an aid to situations like this.
Music tends to calm the body and soul down.
Some nice soft music can get you to sleep.If you have a music set or home theater, select your favorite
cool music,get it playing, turn volume down a bit and get to bed and see how this turn out.

Tinned tomato like any other processed food one way or the other rids off a nutrient or another...The pasteurization or sterilization process they are subjected to alone is enough to rid off the water soluble vitamins such as the B-vitamins through evaporation among others, that explains why u re advised not to overcook ur foods..However, through fortification, the nutrients may be reintroduced into the food..so it depends.

Would you believe if i told you tomatoes is a citrus fruit??

Tomatoes is a red citrus fruit which is mistaken to be a vegetable. This fruit is found anywhere around the world and is used to prepare dish such as stew,jellof rice, salad,add to indomie to make it palatable. Due to the high acidity in tomatoes it can be stored or canned. Adult and children eat it while some prefer it in dish.
Personal I did prefer it to dish but when I started to research on tomatoes and how beneficial it could be to human health, I found out that it’s nutrients are best utilized and beneficial to the body
when eaten in it’s fresh state.So I had to switch things up by eating it in it’s fresh state.
So here are the benefits of eating tomatoes

Prevent and fight cancer-

Tomatoes contains a substance called lycopene.
This substance lycopene in tomatoes makes it red.
The lycopene when in human system fights and ward off cancer.
The good part about this is that it fights all type of cancer. Postrate cancer,stomach cancer name it,it prevent and fights it off.

Lower’s risk of heart disease-

Research and study has been made and it was found out that people who eat more of tomatoes tend to have lower risk of heart disease.
Nutrients such as folate,vitamin B6 and niacin help to reduce cardiovascular disease.
So it is essential you eat at least two fresh ball of tomatoes.

Reduce depression-

Study has shown that more intake of tomatoes help to reduce depression.
Tomatoes contain this nutrients named folate.
High concentration of folate in human system help reduce depression which tomatoes is rich in.

Lower sugar level-

Tomatoes contains an antioxidant named alpha-lipoic acid.This alpha-lipoic acid help turn glucose into energy.The ALA enhances the body ability to use it’s own insulin to lower
sugar level in blood and also fights diabetes type 2.
