We all know if he doesn't win UCL after three attempts, he's getting sacked.
We'll be watching from this thread. Well, 3-5 attempts make sense na. Of course any top team will hope to win the UCL in 3-5 attempts. But it doesn’t make sense to expect him to win it this season (half season). Una wicked sha! |

Besides, Pep has won UCLs. When was the last time Pep won the UCL? Man Utd’s greatest manager won the UCL just twice in more than 2 decades, Mou with star studded teams won UCL just twice, but Poch should win UCL in his first year at PSG, you guys did not even say that he should get to semi-final, na win make he win am. What is happening right now is bad business for Private Equity firms that want to take public companies private. They typically base their analysis on fundamentals. But then, the market is so overpriced that they find it difficult to offer current valuations to the shareholders of the companies (they are trying to take private).
Huge dry powder in the private markets these days due to this.
Sorry shekpites for derailing o, I just love talking about the markets. |

Ibeme: Q4 Earnings calendar will run from mid-Jan to mid-Feb. Most of the techs will be reporting start of Feb. We should already have a clue from Q1-Q3 trading reports. Do you have some names? Wouldn't a better strategy be trading these stocks from 4th Jan? The usual ones like Salesforce, ServiceNow, Zendesk, the FAANG stocks. There are also online wholesalers/retailers/grocery stocks, since most countries have entered/will enter another lockdown, those stocks will outperform. But don't forget that you need to check if they've met or exceeded analysts' expectations in the last few months, you can then use it to forecast q4 earnings performance. We will definitely see more momentum investing in the market with focus on tech stocks. I remember that in March when Zoom was trading at $116. I forecasted the stock to hit $250 to $300 over the next 12 months. Of course, I factored covid-19 into the analysis. Zoom is currently trading at c. $350. The intrinsic value should be maximum of $300, the extra $50 is on the back of momentum, not fundamentals. Starting from 4th Jan won't be bad, but we don't know if a slight dip will be seen due to festivities and school fees paroles. Interestingly, January is considered one of the best months for the markets. We've seen that in recent years except the year 2016. |

Ibeme: If the bailouts continue, excess cash will continue to find its way to Bitcoin. How many months more of this bubble do you think we have, let boys see if they can do a quick flip. I am thinking they will continue to bailout till pandemic quiet down in summer. Well, another cruise is expected starting maybe from 2nd week of January, because most will try to have cash at hand and in the bank because of new year celebrations and maybe school fees (if Covid-19 allows schools to re-open in January). As long as we continue to see injection of liquidity into the system by central banks (through corporate bonds purchases, treasuries buy backs, and sustained low interest rates), and fiscal (through another round of stimulus packages between January and March, and higher recurrent expenditures vs capital expenditures in 2021 budgets due to Covid-19), the market will continue to trend upwards. Reference index is the S&P 500 though. Another strategy is to invest in firms (e.g tech, healthcare, clean energy, retailers and wholesalers) that you believe will exceed market expectations for 2020 FY numbers. Most of them will release earnings reports in February and March, you can look to get in now and exit a few days after they release their FY 20 numbers. Market typically prices in expected performances 4-6 weeks before earnings release dates, reason I am suggesting you get in now. Also, I would suggest that you have a target return level, try to take profit when you reach your target. Market may become quiet at some point in the middle of the new year, but I don’t see a correction anytime soon. Nb: Not an advise to buy or sell any instrument, the sh1ts above are based on my assumptions and experience. Won’t be liable for any loss on the back of my post. |

Ibeme: Man, value investing is out the window so I can't think of entering stockmarket. If you have a pension, you're in the stockmarket anyway so no need to double down by routing personal funds there. 10 years ago you value companies at a ratio to their fundamentals, nowadays any company will be valued high with little reference to their fundamentals (Net Asset Value, price-to-book ratio, price-to-earnings ratio, ROE, Gearing ratios etc) so there's a big bubble.
For example one quick valuation method we use to value non-listed companies is using the higher of their Assets-Liabilities or 7 times their yearly operating profit. For listed companies, we look at the average price-to-earnings ratio to judge if companies are being overvalued. The historic price-to-earnings ratio of all the companies in the S&P500 is around 19, but right now in 2020, the average P-E ratio in S&P is 38 which indicates share values are too high.
The question is whether Govt has the chutzpah to allow the markets correct themselves or will continue to pump in more liquidity to keep the bubble going. Na siddon look I dey on a personal level, but with the comfort of knowing that if the bubble continues indefinitely, I'm also invested in the market via pension fund. Right now, my hard earned cash is in Eurobonds of some countries that can give me between 6-10% USD returns per annum. Also, there are mutual funds linked to those bonds such that when yields drop, prices of the bonds and the mutual funds go up. I can’t do any stock market or speculative investing right now, except the stocks I have been holding since 2-3 years ago. U.S just released another bailout funds early this week, we would see another cruise ride by the stock market. Real estate assets are also overpriced, except maybe commercial real estate that is affected by Covid-19. Liquidity is just too much in the system right now. This is a very good time for traders. Shey I for resume trading of instruments right now, but I don’t think I can sacrifice steady income for roller coaster income. For anyone still interested in stocks investing right now, target clean/renewable energy stocks. |

FlyoruB: The methodology used to arrive at the data is suspect. Eti-Osa has Ikoyi, V.I, Lekki under it, and there's no way a Surulere can beat that in purchasing power. Also the the Ibadan over Abuja is suspect because Abuja has more high networth people. Benin, Calabar, Jos, and Abeokuta, and Asaba have higher purchasing power than some of the cities on that list. Well, I was surprised too, but this analysis is from a reputable and global consulting firm. Probably, there are more people in the inner parts of Eti-osa that are not really wealthy, could also be that few people own properties in Eti-Osa vs a lot of people over there are renters. Re Ibadan vs Abuja, the latter has got a lot of suburbs though. Overall, I believe that the population of each area/city matters for the analysis. |

Quite interesting that within Lagos, Surulere beats Eti-osa, while Abuja is not the second top city by purchasing power. What are your thoughts?
